Maybe the young eco-warrior will have second thoughts when he finds that after four years of brainwashing in college, he can't find a job. How will he buy all those modern goods produced by the evil corporations? What if he can't fly here, there, and everywhere on a whim? What if he can't afford a smart phone, an HDTV, a car? Or internet porn, lattes, laptops, condoms, antibiotics? Or food? Or heat?

We never had it so good. It won't be this good for long.

So, for now, just for today, I think I'll work toward electing a different government, instead of challenging this particular government to a firefight.

I know it's cowardly. What can I say… If I had God on my side, maybe I'd be a bit more brave, or stupid, or something.

But I will damn sure deal you a ration of insults, since that's the game you like to play. If you aren't man enough to tote up an A game when you go to insult people, don't play the fudge-packer defense. You're the little chocolate-covered a$$ bomb that likes to insult Christians for their beliefs.

I couldn't give a rat's @SS less what others would agree. All they have to do is see the unprovoked insults that you make against others for believing in God.

"Government has superior firepower"….you are the epitome of chicken$h!t. Bet you're the first one to fold up and give away your freedoms. It's ok for someone else to put it on the line, but not you.

You are right, you are a Junior Human. I question whether you are worth the protections that my Navy and cohorts in the other armed forces afford you.

However, the *use* of technology doesn't make us greedy, environment killing monsters, either. The simple existence of, or lack of, technology has nothing to do with the moral state of the individuals within a society, or that society's moral state as a whole. Simply put, it is possible to live a healthy and responsible lifestyle without worshipping the earth or engaging in such nonsense as this "no-impact" joke. Greed is a personal choice that individuals exercise – not a state of being for having a car or using light-bulbs.

Still, I would argue that we need to be careful in talking about technology. It is nothing more than a tool. It is not a cure for moral sickness, nor will it cure crime or hatred or any other ill of moral origin. "Science" is not a cure to any societal problem, and the Western tendency to so see "science" is why so many people are, shockingly, disillusioned over Climaquiddick. In fact, it is the reason that we even have this climate "scandal" in the first place.
