Whoopi Says Without Abortion Parents Just Kill Kids Later
by Warner Todd HustonI think Whoopi Goldberg has as much hair inside her head as she has outside it. What else explains the harebrained thinking she exhibited (again) on her coffee klatcher’s show The View on May 4?
Goldberg attempted to explain why she supports abortion. It’s because, you see, if parents can’t kill their kids in utero she thinks parents will just kill their kids later on in their lives.
The discussion centered around a new law in Oklahoma that required abortion patients to view their in vitro babies via a new 3-D ultrasound before they make the final decision to undergo the abortion procedure.
Goldberg was against the new law and in her muddled thinking this was her reason to oppose it:
What difference does it make if you’re going to bring a baby in and you can’t feed it and you can’t take care of it and then people end up killing their kids?
Really? Is there a rash of people killing their children because they “can’t feed them” in America today? No, but that doesn’t stop the idiocy of Goldberg, does it? Does Goldberg have any evidence of women that wanted an abortion but didn’t get them who killed their children later on?
Do liberals always just blurt things out with no proof, no statistics, and no sense? Well, maybe not all of them do, but Goldberg’s particular brand of idiocy is de rigueur for her, unfortunately.

Whoopi and the other self-appointed socio-political gurus continue to spew their dribble day after day, week after week, month after month, etc. … and yet they still have media platform only because of their empty-headed audience. These adoring fans of Whoopi and the likes of her are the same dolts that keep re-electing the morally unfit politicians that are proponents of abortion "rights".
To me, the whole abortion debate is reminiscent of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. Sex is super fun, but you can get pregnant from it. Sex is so fun, that for a lot of people it colors all the decisions that they make in a day. They're too busy thinking about sex to think about important stuff, like being responsible or accountable. But if you have a child, it forces a semblance of responsibility and accountability on you, whether you're ready for it or not.
Our current political system is divided to those who believe in instant gratification and those who believe in delayed gratification. The left doesn't want anyone to know that the payoffs are greater with delayed gratification, so they make sure that people are free to gratify themselves (on the taxpayer dime if necessary) all the time, so that they're too busy having fun to take the long view on life.

I was going to comment on the fact that Whoopi has reached the point of such stupidity, that I don't even know how to explain it. But you've hit on an explanation that makes sense. In fact, I'm comforted by it. Now, we can pinpoint these black holes of stupidity (Rosie O'Donnel, Janeane Garofolo, Bill Maher– for example) and explain to people that they should be avoided at all costs (as if that weren't already apparent) due to the dangers of being sucked in and annihilated.

Generally, modern liberals don't pay a lot of attention what comes out of their own mouth or the mouths of other modern liberals, as long as they are the what they consider the right side of the issue.
Once they determine they are of like minds, they say what ever pops into their head, because they know what ever it is will be accepted as gospel.

Tiller was killed by someone else "post term" and not by his momma. Who you hire for the abortion before birth has nothing to do with the statement Whoopi or Nathan made. You are dead on. as an agnostic libertarian, people ask me how I can be morally opposed to abortion, when libertarians are supposed to be about personal choice.
I usually come back at them with "With choices, come consequences. Some good, some bad, some life altering. But there are always consequences. Abortion is a cheap, dirty cop out of the responsibility you took on when you dipped your wick in the first place, and does nothing but perpetuate the selfish "ME ME ME" mentality that is ruining our country.". That usually shuts 'em up.
Now, I don't believe that the Federal government should be the ones regulating this stuff; it is not their prerogative, nor their Constitutional right to do so. Abortion legislation should solely be in the hands of the States, not the Fed; and I'd be living in an anti-abortion state at that time if I could.

I believe the percentage of women who have abortions because of rape, incest, and medical reasons COMBINED is 4%. Kinda paltry when you think that 96% of abortions are for whatever-else.
Nothing is wrong with the kids here, it is just a whole lot easier and less expensive to adopt from lots of foreign countries. We have adopted two from an Asian country, and have not dealt with an attorney yet. We also will never have the parents coming out of the woodwork and say they want their kids back. In short, as weird as it sounds, it is easier to fly halfway across the world to adopt a child then to adopt here in the US. US social service agencies and attorneys put lots of roadblocks in the way of adoption. Sad but true.

The more some people are informed about the true nature and extent of abortion, the more people who will choose to not have an abortion. This is old old news and a common argument in favor of abortion. I remember hearing this sort of thing 25 years ago when I was in high school. This is really common logic. Whoopie did not make it up herself. She's repeating arguments she's heard for 30 years.
It seems logical enough… parents who do not want to have children will likely resent and abuse (or even kill) them.
But it's only logical in isolation from every other aspect of the issue. Whoopie does not argue that women who get abortions are abusers and ought to be sterilized or have living children taken away from them. No woman who gets an abortion gets put on a potential child abuser list.
And tragic as it is… women who put their children in danger by having live-in boy-friends won't have their behavior changed by the easy availability of abortion or seeing an ultrasound. They fail to protect living children they see quite clearly in the light. A shadowy image of a fetus is irrelevant to that sort of negligent and abusive life style.
The truth is that most abused children were *wanted* children.
And *unwanted* children are those born at the wrong time to mothers who are no more likely to hurt them *now* than they would hurt *wanted* children later.

If you force a woman to have a child, are you then going to force said woman to raise that child? Who would pay for the life of the child if the woman has no desire to be a parent? I understand the whole "killing babies" aspect, but has anyone actually given thought as to what to do with the children being forced upon women to carry and have? Are those who wish to abolish abortion willing to take said children and raise them? Especially if they happen to be children born of incest or rape or with birth defects? Seems people seem to think that all babies are going to be cute and cuddly and cause no problem at all, when I see so many in foster care that no one seems to give a damn about already. That the problem with the argument. Pregnant women don't perform the procedure, they hire a doctor. So if Dr. Tiller's mother was disgusted with her son's career choice, and asked someone to abort him, Then I guess that in Whoopie's world the murderer should only be charged with practicing medicine without a license.
By the way, I'm in no way advocating, or making light of, the killing of abortion doctors. I believe that every time there is an act of violence against clinics or doctors, it sets the pro-life movement back years. Wish G. K. Chesterton was still around; I can just imagine how he would have answered Whoopie. He's not here, though, so we will have to content ourselves with his comment in "Babies and Distributism" in 1932: "Let all the babies be born. Then let us drown those we do not like."
It's not the non-event of parents in America killing the kids they hadn't aborted that bothers these people: it's the ultrasound. Nowadays you do not have to wait until the child is born to see his or her humanity, and once that happens, all too often for such ideologues, an "incorrect" choice is then made.
That is, it's made as long as one's mind hasn't been manipulated into seeing human beings as "things."
