Now the sleeping giant needs to put on some clothes.
Hallelujah! I was praying about our country. And then, Scott Brown dropped out of the sky. My friend Bonnie was praying and fasting. I said, “Fasting? You weigh 90 lbs.!”
She said, “I am fasting from Glenn Beck. Fasting means abstaining from anything that you love, not just food.”
Oh good. Because I can’t even go two hours without popping a Coffee Nip (hard candy, 30 calories each) in my mouth. Maybe I’ll fast from Coffee Nips in an effort to enhance my prayer intensity. Only God can save our country.
So, our prayer and fasting is working. Millions of us have been praying. And, thanks to Glenn Beck we are learning exactly who our enemy is. Whether you call it Progressive, Radical, Far Left, Communist, or Socialist, it is one thing – Government Control. Those two words don’t register in many minds because our secular school system ”forgot” to teach political science and accurate history. Communism destroys freedom, annihilates Christianity, kills people, and doesn’t work. I recently sang my “There’s a Communist Living in the White House” song to a 12 year old. He said, “What’s a Communist?” I said, “Here’s your crash course in politics – Communism is the opposite of Freedom.”
Now, all young people want Freedom. So, why don’t we educate them using their own toys? Hip, sexy, MTV shows, sexy clothes and sexy rock ‘n roll. Let’s paint “I WANT MY FREEDOM” on naked models and place them on a big billboard on Sunset Blvd. Let’s get a freedom rap song anthem, a “We Are The World” event where cool conservatives raise a ruckus. (Well, I’d prefer a Randy Newman tune.) Let’s get a Reality TV show that follows the Tea Partiers, or follows a Conservative Candidate. Sprinkle some “hot” teenagers in it.
More Ideas: 1) Glenn Beck’s Program becomes a required high school and college course. Required reading being every book plugged on his show. 2) Propaganda Art – If the Progressives can use it, so can the Constitutionalists. I encourage all artistic types to start pumping out the T shirts, posters, key rings, head scarves, socks and hats that say “Scott Brown” instead of “Che.” Or skateboards, and boxers that say “James O’Keefe” and “Hannah Giles” instead of “Obama.” How about a miniskirt that says, “I love my Constitution!” or a bikini that lists the names of all the conservative heroes and pundits; Palin, Miller, Ingraham, Hannity, Coulter, Malkin, Levin, Gallagher… How about “I heart Huckabee!” on a snowboard? A cute outfit, maybe a tummy shirt and short shorts, with the word “Rush” all over it. I will refrain from inappropriate Bush jokes.
Or, how about I sell my original art (how does one do that?) to a fabric company who makes bikinis out of it? I call it “The Obamunism Bikini”. On it, in tiny black letters, will be a list of all the horrid, terrible, destructive things he’s done this year; Snitch Program, flag@whitehouse.gov, Gitmo, “Police acted stupidly”, “57 states”, Sealed college records, “Spread the wealth”, Blame Bush, Gazillion dollar deficit, Cap ‘N Trade, Obamacare, Bowing to Sheiks, Apology Tour, Lying, Lying, Lying, Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Partial Birth Abortion, “I’m ashamed of my country” -Michelle-with-22-assistants, NEA fiasco,Van Jones Communist Czar, Jarrett, “Spread the Wealth”, Marxist Professors, Mao Christmas ornaments, Dissing Fox News, Ignoring”Astroturf” Tea Partiers, ACORN, Lame Stream Media Control, Spendulous Package, Bailouts, Kill Middle Class, Waterboarding, NY Terrorist Trials, Destruction of Small Businesses, Saul Alinsky, Ft. Hood Muslim Massacre, Christmas Muslim Bomber, Transparency?, No Earmarks?, No Special Interests?, C Span?, Barry Sortero from Indonesia. I see red pipe trimming. Little red ties on the side. A matching sarong.
Now, I could wear the bikini in the ad, but I’m not sure that would actually help my career, or help sell the bikini or our cause. I’m thinking maybe that beautiful Mila Kunis girl who’s in that fantastic (changed my life) movie The Book of Eli. She should wear the Obamunism Bikini. Let’s put that thing all over the place, every magazine cover, every telephone pole. Then, the sleeping giant who has awakened can wear the clothes, educate the masses, and be dressed and ready for the fight, the fight of Good Vs. Evil.
Let’s kick that Evil out of our Government once and for all. Oh yeah. Get Chuck Norris on the poster too.
On second thought, is it “immoral” to exploit youth and beauty and kung fu for ulterior motives? Does the end justify the means, as Pelosi recently said? Well, how about just a “TRANSPARENCY” T shirt or “I was RIGHT when RIGHT wasn’t cool?

That is so true. When I took what used to be called "American Civics" or "American Gov't," the class was changed to the generic name, "Economic, Legal & Political Systems." It was still called that when I began teaching myself. You see, all of the economic, legal & political systems are taught as equal but with some being more equal than some – namely socialism and communism.
I can only see one problem with this idea: "Rush" is already on a bunch of clothing. Those trying to paint themselves as hip young conservatives might just end up pledging their undying love of a Canadian rock band many modern youths haven't even heard of.
Then again, Freewill's lyrics would resonate heavily with conservatives:
You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.
If you choose not to decide, you still haven't made a choice.
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill;
I will choose a path that's clear-
I will choose Free Will.

Let me ask you this…are you a believer in freedom and liberty for people or are you a believer that it's much better to live as a slave? We have a serious problem here in America that is defining just that. Are you free or are you a slave? Well the answer to that will be determined with the passing of time and what the American citizens do about the AMERICAN CRIME OF THE CENTURY! If you stand up and fight this most obvious and blatant assault on the U.S. Constitution being perpetrated and committed by the democrats and the republicans, well then you are a believer in freedom and liberty for the people. The democrats and republicans betrayed WE THE PEOPLE and the U.S. Constitution by allowing an unqualified candidate (Barack Obama) run (and win) for the Office of the President with their waving of their middle finger to ARTICLE 2 SECTION 1 of the U.S. Constitution which as the Supreme Law of the Land says that to be a candidate to run for the Office of the President a candidate must be a "NATURAL BORN CITIZEN", Barack Obama is not a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN and has no business occupying the people's White House and putting America in a state of international danger with his policies of incompetence! If this is an example of how elected officials who swear oath to serve, uphold and protect the Constitution, but to only turn around and practice treason to the Constitution, think of the Constitution! Then we are nothing but tax paying slaves to them unless WE THE PEOPLE stand up and fight because as it is right now your government thinks of you as a helpless slave! This is what America has become! People you need to research the Law of Nations, the Congressional Globe and this SCOTUS case "Minor v. Happersett" of 1874!

Hilarious! Brilliant! When I was in school, every course, not just "Civics," seemed to resonate with the glories of our American culture, even in music class, where we learned the songs and hymns of the branches of the military; I can still sing most of the Coast Guard anthem. And we started each school day with the Pledge of Allegiance, the "Star Spangled Banner," the Lord's Prayer, and a reading from Psalms. The left was smart to go after our education system. When I taught at our local community college 2001-08, the atmosphere was thick with anti-American toxicity. We who understand the magnificence of this nation do need to find a way to reach and teach young people again.
Want your kids to know what communism is like? Show them "The Lives of Others."

Socialism – he gives 25% each to his sister and brother that don't work. Communism – his sister and brother both go down to the store and help him sack the groceries, then all three split the paycheck equally. Obamunism – sorry, the store must lay you off (unless you join the union).

Well, there you go. Develop books that teach what used to be taught and sell them. Find out what books used to be used to teach those classes and spread the word. Excellent, Victoria – and I would add, schools have 'forgotten' to teach about the Original Constitution and the all important Federalist Papers, which EXPLAINS all the issues the Constitution brings up as to where the power of government really belongs. Am beginning a unit on American History with my teenage daughter….she has already learned through teaching her Texas history (textbook : "Lone Star" by T.R. Fehrenbach) that a Federalist Republic is HARD to manage/keep. It requires things of people that most take for granted or do not conceive of…and how EASY it is to lose the freedom of a Federalist Republic because it is easier to let someone else do the work. I did not get taught the Federalist Papers even in my HS days – I purposefully read those things myself : the minutes of the Constitutional Convention and the FP – then I understood! My government, my country is the best damn country in the world, but its HARD to keep. I think thats one thing we are fighting against: most people look at it and go 'its too hard, let someone else worry about it.' But the power belongs to US.
Anyway, I have been stressing to her how important it is to know these things. It may take me two years to get her through this, but Im gonna do it. Im not going to let her go into college without being armed with that.
If we all must stick together, why is Victoris, and all the aricles here, and 99% of commenters here, tearing us apart with divisive rhetoric? Is "sticking together" for all of us or not?

I was a late bloomer. When I went to college 20 years ago, on top of it taking 5 years finish, I was 8-12 years older than most of my fellow students. It was even most pronounced when I took a few mop up core curriculum classes in my last three semesters. One of those classes was American Government. I showed up the first day, got the syllabus with the test dates. I showed up on the test dates and got an A in the class. (Sidebar: when I showed up after 5 weeks for the first test, the professor didn't recognize me, and I had to show my ID before he'd give me the test.) In the same class was a friend of a friend. She was a freshmen in her second semester. She struggled through the class, studying hours for each test. She barely made a C. She wasn't a dumb kid, it was just that the subject was entirely new to her.

Mark Steyn uses the phrase "cultural liberal" to denote people that are liberals because they are immersed in the surrounding popular culture and too busy or too lazy to think otherwise. As a former cultural liberal myself I think both you and Mark Steyn are on to something. Basically the syllabus is A) America is Racist B)America exploits the World C) Communism is great!!!! Sad to say, and I am an Historian involved with academia, that is the basic Poli Sci course. In my college career there was not one course offered that examined the history of the Constitution (I have offered to give one at my University, and am still waiting a response), but plenty of History classes that portray the Founders as psuedo-Marxist.

My nephew came home from high school one day all full of himself, and announced that he was a communist. I said, "Really? Why do you say that?" He responded with the typical Marxist crap about "from each according to his ability to each according to his need," and how this was the only fair and just way to live and how Capitalists are all just greedy pigs, blah, blah, blah. So I proposed that he start living as a communist right away. I told him we would take the door off of his room, because communists have no privacy. I told him that he would have to make ALL of his possessions available to his brothers immediately, to use when, where and how they saw fit. I told him that there would be no more allowance for him, and that any money he earned at his part-time job he would have to give to his mother, to be divided between himself and his brothers. His reaction? He blew a gasket! He said, "Hell no! That's MY room and MY stuff and MY money!" I told him, "No Dear, that's communism."

If Civics is anything like it was when I took it in 9th Grade, it may have the same effect it had on me: delayed my becoming a conservative by 30 years. I can still remember the text books that showed Americans in colorful clothes under a blue sky, and Russians in gray coats huddled against the cold in a land where all the trees and grass were dead. The truth is enough to make the case for democracy and representative government. Is it as hard as we think it is to assure that our schools' curricula is balanced?

As for protest songs, while not necessarily written or sung by conservatives (although I think the guy from Twisted Sister is a liberatarian), I have 3 songs that are my Tea Party, New Revolution songs: We're Not Gonna Take It (Twisted Sister), Invincible (Pat Benatar) and The Uprising (Muse). There's also one by Bon Jovi (We Weren't Born to Follow). Again, not saying anybody's "conservative" per se, but they all resonate with me.

None of it has anything to do with fundamentally changing the course of our government, or informing people on real, acutal issues. It's just a bunch of people milling around in overpriced t-shirts. What good is "rallying the troops" (a questionable turn of phrase considering real troops are dodging bullets and bombs, while your troops are avoiding, um, faddish couture) if you are just going to blindly support policies of anyone with an R after their name?

Go Victoria! Promoting conservative ideas and heros through clothing and education is something we need to do more work on. How many Che tee shirts have you seen, although I'm sure 99% or those people have no idea of what Che really did or was, the tee shirts make Che seem "cool". It's simple marketing to get someone interested, but in the case of Che that's where they want to stop, with "Che is cool". In our case we want to educate further (watching Glenn Beck who presents more accurate facts and American history in 2 minutes than Obama has in his entire life)
Highschoolers and college dopes think Che is cool because they see him on book bags and posters, all they know is that the "in" people have pictures of him and he's somehow "counter culture". Well with Obama and his ilk as the "establishment" it's time for us to take over tee shirts, bikinis and bill boards with our "counter culture" heros of the present and future. Personally I wouldn't mind that Scott Brown picture, ok maybe only the top half, on a tee.

Mt wife and I homeschool our kids, the books you talk about are available from CBD.com. The problem with getting them into the schools is they are usually printed by Christian publishing companies and because of this the libs will block them from the schools.

Ohh, I so hate the term "fundamentally changing the course of our Government". The fundamentals of our Government is not the problem; however, the problem "lies" in the Government ignoring the fundamentals:
Constitution
Bill of Rights
Declaration of Independence
And "your troops are avoiding, um, faddish couture"… you miss the point. It isn't about avoiding faddish couture. It's about wearing calling out those who wear propaganda that supports an empty promise, or worse yet in the case of Che, ignorantly idolizing the visage of a brutal tyrant. On top of that, our troops are "Fighting" Socialism and anyone in that battle is a "real troop". And this is coming from a real "troop" who has served her country for the last eight years and will separate from the Military to serve her country for the rest of her life as a troop against Socialism in America.
Lastly, "blindly supporting policies of anyone with an R after their name" Beck is a Libertarian- last I looked that started with an "L"
Many, maybe even most, tea party leaders and supporters are Independents and Libertarians who are fed up with most people who's last name is followed with an "R". Even Conservative Democrats are taking to the cause.
