Okay, we all know that this global warming thing is a politically based, scientifically unproven, exaggeration based on greed, power and big government control. I just did my science term paper on it and science hasn’t found an accurate way to measure global climate yet. But, what if it is true that industry, production, coal use and automobiles are emitting too much poison into the atmosphere, and our earth is sensitive to this, being damaged by this, and that there is potential damage coming to our future generations…
…wouldn’t the logical, reasonable thing be to intelligently discuss the topic? Perhaps a televised debate between two respected scientists who have no political ties, who have opposite opinions on the climate change topic? Isn’t that the way civilized people approach problems?!
What’s the Rush?
…wouldn’t the common sense approach be for Congress to slowly and eloquently discuss the facts, the science, the computer models, their accuracy, and the ramifications of decreasing industry, and destroying yet more jobs during an economic depression/crisis? Shouldn’t they first decide whether this Green Movement is a joke before they start making laws that affect the welfare of a billion lives?

Okay, we all know that our country has the best medical system in the world, and that the majority of Americans are very happy with their health care. But, what if it was true that we needed to reform this system a little, this system that is already the best in the world? Yes, I said it twice.
…wouldn’t the intelligent thing be to slowly and carefully dissect exactly what the problems are, and then have experts in that field give presentations to back up their carefully thought out solutions? For example, the problem that doctors are being sued so much that they are forced to spend incredible amounts of money on lawsuit protection, thus raising the costs to their patients? Talk. Think. Discuss. Think?

Why is this Congress…what can we label them? Labels are important because they explain a lot in a single word. They save time. What should we label this administration? Democrat? No. They seem different than the olden-day Democrats. Progressive? Isn’t that just a fancy name for Neo-Communist?! Well, whatever the label that history will lay on them, they are America Haters. They are Freedom Haters. They are People Haters. And, many of them are God Haters. And, they are in a big, big hurry!
I think they are RUSHING…blind, deaf, dumb, passionate, and confused, spittle flying, hair in their eyes…without a thought as to what their constituents want…they are RUSHING us into a state of Tyranny…
…because they are hoping to CHANGE our country from a Capitalist nation to a Socialist nation before anyone notices! And, before the 2010 election!
Whenever one of us notices their chicanery, they call us names and try to humiliate us, stop us. Like high school. A lot of these Obama followers really, really, really want to be COOL! Isn’t that funny?! They want to be in the COOL clique. They don’t know how silly they look. Like that hairstyle where your side bangs fall right into your eye. Or that pants style where you let your pants fall down past your butt and wear boxers underneath. Those are the people who voted for Obama. Someone told them it was COOL. They don’t know he’s stealing their Freedom from right under their noses!!
In the 70’s, when I grew up, people thought it was COOL to do drugs until they overdosed and have sex with lots of people and get abortions and diseases. Eventually, they found out that the COOL crowd was really the dumb crowd. The COOL people supported Madeline Murray O’Hare. Her life’s work was to remove the Bible, prayer and the 10 Commandments from schools. She did it! Yay Maddy! And then she died. I think someone chopped her up. She was murdered. Maybe she should have left the 10 Commandments, or at least one of them in the schools. COOL has consequences. Some of my COOL Christian friends, the ones that go to the Rock and Roll Church and think it’s okay to say the F word; they proudly voted for Obama. I said, “But he’s for partial birth abortion and you believe abortion is murder!” They replied, “He’s COOL!” My Jewish lawyer neighbor last year bragged, “This is the first time I’ve ever not voted Republican!!” I asked him why he was voting for Obama. He said proudly, “Because he’s black!” I was speechless. In his desperate attempt to be a non-racist, he was a flaming racist. What is more racist than choosing a political leader based on his skin color?! I think…when picking a leader…the most important thing to consider is the guy’s World View…not the way he looks, or speaks, or if he’s COOL!
COOL has consequences and so does RUSHING.
I was curling my hair with my curling iron today, (because I am not cool and still have my 80’s hairstyle), and I burned my neck because I was rushing, because I was late for a meeting with Tony Katz, and Al Sonja Schmidt. We are starting a radio show called The Wise Guys to air for the first time next Thursday on 1220 AM ! (shameless plug)
But I digress…
All I’m saying, is you really have to be suspicious of people who are in a RUSH. They always have a trick up their sleeve.

Congress, President? Are you afraid we will vote you out?! Well, we are on to you, so you better find other means of employment. Perhaps law or magic, they both involve lying and subterfuge. You’d be good at that!
(By the way, I have a solution for the potential threat of global warming caused by the emission of greenhouse gases. It’s not a WIN/LOSE situation like Gore has presented which is to destroy our economy to save the polar bear (which is not going extinct). This solution is a WIN/WIN solution and it was thought up by my friend, the highly respected Astronomer and founder of Reasons to Believe (reasons.org), Dr. Hugh Ross. Dr. Ross’s idea is to exchange the ostrich for the cow. Cow flatulence is the leading cause of greenhouse emission producing methane. Ostrich meat is healthier and ostriches emit much less gas, and take less grazing space. Dr. Ross also suggests replanting the Sahara Desert and other deserts to stimulate rain in those areas. He explains it better than I do on his web site. This is a better solution than killing our economy.)

You've hit the nail on the head. Obama saying we have to pass the stimulus yesterday (never mind reading it) only to sit on his desk for four days while he vacationed. It's beyond outrageous (and cool) the tactics that are used by the libs to further their agenda. But alas, they always overreach……just throw em a rope and let em hang themselves.
The rush is that the uber-leftists (like Odumbo) will lose control of Congress after the 2010 midterms. They hope to RUSH through as much BAD legislation as possible knowing that the country opposes them, and that the all important independent voter has abandon Obama & Democrat(SS) in droves.
The iron is still hot, they must subject the U.S. to bad (re:socialist) international treaties before a sane Congress re-rejects them (as in the case of the first Kyoto Protcol) and they must quickly capture control of 1/6 of the economy with horrendous 'healthcare reform' (which excludes tort reform, because tort lawyers are the pimps and the Congress is their whore) which allows the Demon-crats to shift the country left toward a Euro-nanny state paradigm.
This Euro-nanny-state ensures perpetual 'liberal/socialist' rule, because the proletariate is beholding to the state for their very lives in most cases. It's evil and wrong, just like todays Demon-crat(SS).
maybe Obama's brand of national socialism has an *expiration date* – we can only hope it's very soon.
What's the rush?
Simple. Our government was designed to make it difficult to do things. However. Hard as it is to do things, if you can actually make a change, it is also hard … horrendously hard .. to reverse the change. At that point, all the built-in possibilies for delay start working in favor of keeping the change.
Hence Rahm Emanuel's oft-referenced saying about never letting a crisis go to waste. If you can panic people into making a change while they're scared and confused, you're home free …
The comment about a scientific debate reminded me of a conversation I recently had with a biology professor of mine. Basically what he said was that true science is done when people have ideas about how something works or why something is happening, ideas that are often in conflict with those of other scientists. So what do they do? Insist they have the right idea? More or less, yes, but then they have to back it up with data! Lots of it! Until other scientists are convinced that the data supports the conclusion, or doesn't support it and the idea is thrown out and a new one tried. Is this what climate scientists do? Some of them, but many of them refuse to allow debate/dissent from their ideas and refuse to let the data and the data alone back up their assertions. If there is a true consensus, then the data should bear that out. (As we all know from history, consensus can be wrong. It used to be the consensus that diseases like cholera and malaria were caused by "bad air," or that Newton's laws applied universally.)

The RUSH is that the left likes to push things through in a hurry because if their constituents found out what was really in it, they'd be screwed. They have legislative votes on Saturday night because no one pays attention. This hoax, aka Man-made-global-warming is being found out to be what it is, flawed, ideologically driven "science". The longer it sits in the wind, the better the chance that a majority of the world finds out it's bunk. Al Gore, the goreacle, is being shown as the fraud he is when he runs away (like a girl) from reporters who have the audacity to question him.

On 1 January 2010 a little publicized but extremely important UN treaty goes into effect. It's called 'Codex Alimentarius'. Signed back in the early 90's, it cedes control of the US health care system to the WHO. But you have to have a federalized system to turn over in the first place. This way UN bureacrats can determine what nutrition, and other health related items the whole world can have, including the US.
You can, and should, look this up. Requests to our congressional representatives on this issue went unresponded. You have Agenda 21 and the Codex, both onerous UN world governance regulations.
And, by the way, the new 'Clean Water Act' plays intyo this as well. All water= everywhere- can be controlled by a central authority. Only it will be UN, not US bureacrats…

Once my husband and I were driving on a busy road in Arlington VA. Columbia Pike for those who know the area. A woman waiting to cross the street suddenly decided that THAT moment was THE moment to go. She ran, arms flailing, out into the street to cross and we had to slam on our breaks to keep from making her into a hood ornament.
The democrats' behavior reminds me of this.

You know how many people I know who call themselves Democrat, but espouse values that today's party has nothing to do with? In fact, issues that their party is doing their best to squash? What a great analogy! I know Columbia Pike well. Like many other areas in Northern Virginia, pedestrians, often people who look like they were not born in the United States, step into horrendous traffic, sometimes with catastrophic results. I remember an article a couple of years ago that asked people on the street about their street-crossing habits, and one was quoted as saying, 'I just have faith that people will stop for me." I think that also sums up the Democrat's behavior–someone else will look out for me. Me personally, I don't trust anyone that much, and I never expect anyone else to have my best interest at heart.

Very true about "gridlock"; it was by design. the framers were chastened by a tryannical King and Parliment that arbitrarily "did things" often at breakneck (by 18thcentury standards) speed. They though a more "liesurely pace" was prudent.
Somehow, I think even Al Gore would shrink from suggesting that global warming would lead to temperatures of nearly 500 degrees and sulfuric acid rain. After all, according to the AGW theory, the Earth's temperature keeps going up because of human activity, and by the time it even approached that level, we'd all be dead anyway. Just saying.

You know if the world got warmer we would use less fuel to heat with reducing fuel needs so…. we need to burn more oil quickly, that way we wont run out when the glaciers arrive in Florida or we could all open up our refrigerators use more electricity and help that way. Or beter yet we could stop the nonsense use our resources efficently and fully, burn our own oil, and as the price goes up we find alternatives, just think if Co2 isnt a green house gas then we could burn wood we have lots of it it smells good and it grows back sucking the nasty Co2 back into its limbs to be released again. The analogy works for me because they see the polls. They know it's potential political suicide for many of them, and yet they're still pushing it. Running out into the street with their arms flailing, trying to get to the other side against the wishes of the majority (aka the traffic that's about to flatten them).

I don't think she was implying God caused the murder, but that it was a possible result of O'Hare's actions in removing traditional morality (I.E. the 10 Commandments) from the public square.
O'Hair and two others were murdered by the same two people. Their motive was robbery.
One of the killers had an additional motive — hatred. O'Hair had employed him as an office manager, but she wrote a scathing article about him after he stole from her the first time. That prompted him to kidnap her, steal all her material wealth and murder her.
As to how that might be due to her removing traditional morality from the public square, I couldn't say. Actually, she didn't try to remove morality, she tried to remove religion and religious symbols (two very different things). An atheist is no more or less likely to commit murder than a religious person.
The tone is still one of smugness, of acting as if the woman deserved to be tortured, robbed and murdered. Tee-hee, she got "chopped up." That's about disgusting.

The irony that many of those travelling to Copenhagen for the Global Warming conference were delayed by a dreadful snow storm was not lost on many of us. As for the "rush" to which Victoria correctly allludes, I think it was Emerson who wrote that " in skating on thin ice our safety is in our speed." This has become a disturbing characteristic of Obama who uses acceleration to disguise his moving curtain of lies.
The e-mails leaked from the University of East Anglia in England reveal that, like all cults, the Global Warmers excluded and manipulated evidence which did not support their desired conclusions to achieve their political agenda. Subsequently they used the remaining statistics in much the same way as a drunk uses a lampost, for support rather than illumination. We must remember that scientific conclusions are not a matter of opinion or consensus. They require empirical evidence. Global Warming has never been any more than a hypothesis yet for those who enjoy being viewed as saviours it has taken on all the appurtenances of an article of faith. Any extra heat being generated on planet Earth is coming from the scientists cooking the books.

By the way, last week all the U.S. meteorologists (I just can't say that word without a chuckle) admitted to bungling the extent of the rain/snow storm that battered the east coast because their "computer models just didn't see it."
