I QUIT POLITICS

For one thing, I can’t sleep because I absent-mindedly forgot to include three of my favorite Freedom Fighters in my Truth Tellers list, Levin, Malkin and Coulter. I love them. If they ever find out that I forgot to mention them in my last blog, they will forever not know how much I respect/honor them. This is giving me a headache, and making me chew off all of my new fake fingernails. I can’t even enjoy my rented DVD Season Two Compilation of “Mad Men.” Oh, and I love Stossel, Gallagher, Stein and Morris too!
Okay, then I find out Gingrich is pal-ing up with Pelosi about Global Warming! Eww! Defector! Oh man! Strike him off my list. Now! He’s off!
Picking leaders is painful. Voting. If you put their name up on your car, or in your yard or tattoo it to your face, you are suddenly responsible for every move they make and every word they say. Too much pressure.
Thirdly, I cannot bear the hatred of the Left. Their comments. The look on their faces in my rear view mirror when I see them noticing my “Fox News: Truth” bumper sticker, or my “Glenn Beck” bumper sticker, or my “Okay, joke’s over. Bring back the Constitution” bumper sticker. Their snide glances and snaps of disgust. I can’t take it anymore. Hatred hurts.
Fourthly, I start college tomorrow. It’s my last class. Science 101. I need to focus. I started my college degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, in 1976. I had to stop and work, you know, to pay for it. College tuition is expensive. Then, there was the six-year “Saturday Night Live” distraction in NY, and the 15 years of raising a family in Miami distraction. But now, I’m back and ready to finish my degree. I took all the fun classes first and left the “vegetables” for last. So, I just finished Math, and now Science. How timely though, because now I can become an expert on Climate Change and explain to Gore, Pelosi and Obama how ridiculous their hoax is, if I can catch them between their fuel-guzzling, earth killing, private jet trips. I mean, really. (Nancy’s private jet costs taxpayers $60,000 one way for the trip she takes weekly to D.C. where she is working hard to take our freedoms away!)
FACT: More greenhouse gases are emitted from one volcano than all the automobiles ever made of all time. (”Deb and Seby’s Real Deal on Global Warming” by Al Sonja Schmidt.) So, humans are not responsible for the weather. Whatever Communist replaces Van Jones, the Green Jobs Czar should read that book and the book, “Heaven and Earth” by Ian Plimer, and see the movie, “Not Evil, Just Wrong.” But the Obama Administration doesn’t care about the FACTS! They are using this Green Scam to continue the economic destruction of America. It’s so obvious! The Stimulus Package did not create jobs, it paid back O’s friends for voting for him. Free Enterprise and Capitalism create jobs. Capitalism would save our economy. But no, Obama can’t do that! He’s a Marxist! Spread the Wealth! Kill production! Obamacare/Socialized Medicine and Cap N Trade/Tax are huge boulders that will crash our economy. The Government controlled Health Care would cripple small businesses that couldn’t compete with the “public option” (hurts my mouth to say it), and the Cap N Trade/Tax would do the same. Jobs would go overseas where they have no energy limitations. Can’t somebody stop this?!
OBAMA IS TRYING TO DESTROY AMERICA!!!!
Obama’s plan is so obvious, people don’t see it. It’s under their noses.
Once our economy is dead, we will have to lean on the government for everything and his evil plan will be complete. He’ll probably rename our country Obamica. He’ll make a law that says his presidential term is limitless, like his friends Chavez, Castro, Stalin, Lenin, Mao, etc. He’ll rule with his oligarchy, Jarrett, Reid, Pelosi, Frank and Soros, etc. They’ll all be fat and happy, smoking and playing basketball, and we’ll all be sad, poor, depressed Communists.
I will not let that happen to my free country!!
Can I fight for freedom without being involved in icky politics?
(Side Note: Speaking of humans affecting the climate, there was an “X Files Episode” called “The Rain King” where I got to play a woman whose emotions affected the weather! When I cried, it rained ! My character also had to kiss David Duchovny on the mouth! But, I digress.)
Back to why I am quitting politics;
Fifthly, politics is boring. Super boring.
Sixthly, politics is mean. Everyone’s so mean to each other.
But, politics can’t be ignored even if you try to ignore it. It overlaps every part of our lives. Have you seen the new video of the British Lord who is warning us about the upcoming Climate Change Summit where the world leaders will use the Global Warming scam to get money from the U.S. (middle class taxpayers again) AND use it, the Green Scam as an excuse to create a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT?!

I have heard this Biblical Prophecy in church since I was 6 years old! (Revelation by the Apostle John dated A.D. 81-96 and Matthew 24, Mark 13 and ”When The World Will Be As One” by Tal Brooke copyright 1989). Who knew it would be a Green Scam that would initiate this prophecy’s fulfillment? Green sounds so harmless. Who doesn’t love the Earth?! With all these “end times” signs becoming reality; Famine, War, The Breakup of the Family Unit, Earthquakes, Christians hated/tortured, (the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), comprised of 57 Muslim nations, is vigorously pushing the U.N. to vote yet again on a cleverly worded ”tolerance” resolution, which would criminalize the proclamation of the Gospel!), False Prophets, Gospel Preached around the world, and now One World Government….
…The Question Becomes: If this is the end…what should we do? Get involved politically and fight for our freedom or just sit at home, watch “Mad Men” and wait for Jesus to return?

I would rather talk about God than politics.
But, I can’t talk about God if I don’t have Freedom of Speech!!
So…I guess… I really can’t quit politics.

Thank you so much for writing what I am thinking. I too have tried to quit politics, but I can't. Once you wake up to what is going on (which I did during last year's elections), you just can't ignore it. The hate from the left is unbearable. When I post something on my FB page I am shocked by the acrimony that comes from my own FRIENDS! I don't hate my liberal friends, I just thing they are ridiculously naive and frankly too lazy to do anything about the problems we face. They recycle their bottles and let the government take taxes to solve problems and them turn on American Idol. Thank you for continuing to write for me and others so we don't let out country go.

Very nice write-up, indeed, and you make a good point. Those of us who fail to think about and act upon our political principles are part of the problem.
I too tried to become a hermit – figured all my previous attempts at showing myself a good citizen, volunteering, trying to stand up for what I believed in was not just merely met with disdain, but with outright hatred…and sometimes from the very people who claimed they desired my assistance/help/support (that would be you country clubber Republicans). After 2006, I gave up. To hell with them all, they deserve what they get. Except my daughter keeps showing her lovely face to me each day and I keep thinking about being nine years old in 1976 and how inspiring George Washington (my Dead Boyfriend) and Patrick Henry were and how they fought for the future. I dont mind wading into the battle of politics. Im a confrontational kind of person. If I need to confront something, I will. But I am not a leader. God did not bless me with that ability. I think He has something else in mind for me. But I still want to be an American. Where are the leaders who have been called by Him?
I graduated in 2000. The same year (and school) as my oldest child. (She did it on campus. I did my final seven classes home study. Thankfully I had already taken the meat and potatoes courses first and got to do–mostly–dessert from home.)

Victoria, there really is not such thing as a sacred/seccular distinction no matter how hard you try so the idea of 'I would rather talk about God than politics' ultimately wont work. If you allow it and your faith is complete then God is sovereign over everything. Check out James 1:6-8.
Back in the before time, (before politics became a part of my daily life) I was supremely unaffected by the ups and downs of the political system and parties. Being a callow youth, I didn't see what was going on due to disinterest and copious amounts of booze and drugs. In 1989, I got sober, and lo and behold, Rush came on the air here in Minneapolis. Seeing how I was working for myself back then, I had plenty of time to listen to conservative talk radio, and my views began to change.
20 years down the road, i feel like I am coming of age politically. Like most of us I see what is going on, how our rights have been being taken away incrementally over the years, and that process is picking up speed as the libs know they are finally being exposed as the vile little elitists that they are.
My one regret in this life is that I didn't serve my country when I had the chance. Maybe I can atone for that by keeping up the good fight for the values I was taught as a lad.
Keep fighting the good fight Victoria, have no regrets, what you do is important, not just for us, but for all of the country.
Nope, sorry Victoria, you can't leave us out here to fight the good fight. We will just have to come and get you when the next rally starts.

I've decided "no more mr nice guy". I'm tired of turning the other cheek at socially accepted conservative and Christian bashing. I am no longer sitting quietly while "white dudes" are slandered.
I fear if I do not stick up for my values and beliefs (Christianity, Conservativism, racial equality (btw, we all come from Adam and Eve, there are no "Races" just differences that stem from the Diaspora after the tower of Babel, we are ONE race) Personal responsibility/accountability, etc) then they will fade away from the Earth and it will be my own fault

I don't know where you are that you're actually ALLOWED to drive around with those bumper stickers. If you tried it in my neighborhood, our non-violent, peace-loving, freedom-of-speech-defending liberals would toss a rock through your windshield before you even got out of the driveway.

Conservatives need to be more cannibalistic. We need to not only stick to our guns but eat the lefties for lunch whenever possible. Make it a practice to point out the lies whenever possible to even those who aren't listening. Make sure to anger those who tell the lies so their true nature is displayed to all Americans. Wear your message, transmit and vocalize it. Don't take any crap from lefties but do take their positions seriously. Don't cave to their whining and faux sympathetic BS. Let the lefties know you have their number. Learn self defense methods. Be ready to meet violence with even greater violence. We are in the beginnings of a revolution and it will mean there will be blood before it's over. In this case, the meek won't be inheriting the Earth. God help us all.

I was trying to imagine how algore might try to "cap" a volcano–let's say Kilauea–then tax the citizens because they dared to live close to an active volcano. Of course Kilauea is a somewhat large volcano. Might be kind of hard to cap. The real problem is the super volcano that IS Yellowstone National Park. It's spewing gasses right now. Oh my gosh! We need to move on this people!! Get Jeffrey Immelt on it. I'm sure he and the rest of the Hee Haw gang in DC can come up with a way to trap those gasses and create an even more toxic situation. I think I'm with you. I need some coffee.

When I was in college, I had a very brave history professor who spoke about progressivism, Margaret Sanger, and the attempt at the wholesale slaughter of peole of color by Sanger and her "embryonic" Planned Parenthood. Despite my Irish, German feature I am also Cherokee, Apache, and Chinook and have a picture of my Cherokee ancestor who walked the "Trail of Tears" and survived so you might guess at how this lecture impacted me. When class was over, as we were leaving, this young 18 year old absolutely no doubt about it off the rez girl was in tears asking, "Could this happen again?" I looked at her in tears and said, "Yes. Maybe not to the same group again. But yes it could happen again." Vigilance!
Oh, the trolls were out in force election night on Big Gov. They were doing the Pelosi dance, trying to act as if the House win meant the Dems won everything! Yeah, that's the ticket. I think they'll keep their head in the sand as long as possible, but Tuesday losses have rattled them and they act out like children by hitting the thumbs down button. It always makes me laugh when I see an increase in that kind of behavior. It's like a tantrum.

No you can't quit anymore than I can and believe me I've tried. I think that because we live in a unique country where written in our Constitution and Bill of Rights is the right to challenge our government and speak out, we throw it in the face of our forefathers if we don't fight for our land and freedoms. I find it truly difficult to withdraw from the battle because I have the dubious honor of being a direct descendant of Samuel Adams. There's a bloodline responsibility there that won't let me sit this one out! (Quiet, great-great-great-etc. Grandpa!) There's also an indigenous peoples bloodline that sees the progressive movement for what it is (racist attempted murderers of people of color) and must work to stop it's desire at turning America into "Europe-lite." Dostoyevsky also thought that spiritual change in society should happen from the top down (seen in his earlier works like Poor Folk). After being lined up for a mock execution, and then sent to Siberia for several years, he realized that spiritual regeneration is not top-down, but starts with the down and out, in those that recognize the need for grace in the messiness of life (seen in his later books like The Brothers K). It has nothing to do with politics. Victoria, you are fighting on the right side but in the wrong battle.
Yup… I emphasized in GIS/Remote Sensing when I switched from Meteorology to Geography when I got my B.Sc.
The software is really easy and you could probably learn it from home… ESRI's (the microsoft of GIS software) ArcGIS has books that typically have a trial student version of the software, so you can learn how to use it at home. and ESRI always has free classes online (but those are usually for people that already use the software)…. UPenn has an online Masters degree for GIS (which is what I will do if UNT doesn't get theirs online after Texas approved the prop that will allow more of our Universities to jump to tier 1).

Hi Victoria, I am feeling the same in some ways. Politics don't solve anything but you can just live your life by your values and even speak occasionally at a politcal rally without making politics the answer. You can be your own leader.

Proof of the idiocy of that claim comes from the fact that even the MSM wasn't trying to window-dress Tuesday with that win in NY, but bluntly stating that this was a major defeat for the Dems. The fact that a supposedly "extremist" candidate could come practically out of nowhere to take roughly 45 percent of the vote, on top of everything else, has put the fear of God into them, no matter what they say.
Exactly! When I hear or read others telling me, dont get so worked up / it's not a big deal / there are more important problems / on and on, when I call them out on "little things", I say this very same thing. I never got to meet members of my grandfather's and grandmother's families because they all thought, "it's no big deal, it cant happen here".
There's a reason the words "Never Again" are very poignant in my family and should be for us all. As Drie above me said, it can happen, it does happen and will happen to any group of choice by those who would call themselves our masters if we do not stand against it.

The Organization of the Islamic Conference has 57 member states, and a year ago this past Spring, then-candidate Obama referred to the United States as having 57 states. Was this a Freudian slip? A subtle but deliberate signal? Interesting questions.
One other thing. Many scholars believe that Revelation was written in 66-68 AD, just prior to the destruction of Jerusalem, and its apocalyptic vision refers to that 3 1/2 year-long event.

Victoria, although I disagree with your politics , I understand how you feel. However before you accuse the left of being nasty and hateful , you might want to read through some comment threads on this board. There is plenty of hate on here to go around.
The more I read commentary, on either side mind you, the more I see it is all the same thing. Your wrong, their wrong, your right, their right. Everyone on every side are acting like children on the playground stamping their feet and yelling because they aren't getting what they want. Democrat or Republican. I see the hate you talk about on both sides of the fence. It seems to me, that if we could just compromise (that includes neither side getting everything they want, and probably a few things they don't want) then we could, perhaps, get something done. But that won't happen. We are to arrogant, self absorbed, with an innate need to be first, and to be right. Shame.

One is not like the other.
One side hates what America stands for and the other hates the destructive actions of those who hate what America stands for.
One side wants to "fundamentally transform" the vision of what our Founding Fathers and generations of American patriots fought and died for while one side desires to continue with the system that created the shining city and the beacon of liberty and prosperity we enjoy.
One side believes that the state and the mob is the highest power and one side believes that the God-given unalienable rights of the individual is worth sacrificing our blood and sacred honor for.
One side is right and the other is wrong.

Socialism is an attractive form of Satan's soon to come pseudo-godly government. Who knows, when the world is reborn, we may be governed by some variant of socialistic monarchy. The thing is, when Jesus rules, that will be possible. He can feed thousands with a couple of fish and several loaves of bread. That being the case, dinner could be on ME in that Kingdom (kinda, that is. I could bring the fish and bread, thank God). For now, our Republic and the capitalist economy it allows is the best way for human beings to live together while accelerating the quality of life for EVERYONE. As it is now (without Divine intervention) socialism/communism is impossible.
Rejoice! The apocalypse isn't a bad thing, it is a wonderful birth. Women sometimes get pregnant months after the anguish of childbirth because the miracle and beauty of new life quickly removes all the painful memories of what it took to bring human life here. We are experiencing the birth pangs of a new world on the horizon. Whether it is accelerated or slowed, I kinda don't care anymore. I just don't want to be tortured to death, and I sure don't want my kids to suffer. I also hope a pre-trib rapture is real and an accurate interpretation of Scripture.
