LIES
by Victoria JacksonI’m lying in my Tiffany blue bedroom, in the dark, listening to the President tell lies. He’s so good at it, that he is smiling and lots of people are clapping.
He says, “Public Option. No one will have to change, if they like their present situation.” LIE.
He says, “My plan will not add one dime to the deficit.” LIE.
(Congressional Budget Committee speak up!)
He says that if we don’t act now, the country will fall apart. LIE.
He says that quality of health care won’t suffer. LIE
He says that there won’t be rationing and those that say there will be are liars. LIE.
He says that the Republicans have no solutions to offer up. LIE
(Several of them lift papers into the air.)
He says that this is not socialism. LIE
He says this is the “moral” thing to do! LIE
(Take money from the middle class and give it to the non-taxpayers and illegals?!)
He says this won’t insure the illegals! LIE….
And then, wait, I choke on my caffeine-free Diet Coke… Like a voice from above, I think I just heard someone shout out, just what I was thinking, ”LIE!”
I can’t believe it! Someone used the real word, not the politically correct word, “Disingenuous!” Nancy Pelosi’s big, arrogant smile suddenly drops and she looks over to the Republican side of the room with the mean glare of a stern librarian! This is fantastic theatre!
Biden isn’t listening to a word of this speech. He’s trying to decide whether to wear a serious face, or a happy face, or a concerned face, or a mad face. So his expression results in a combination of all of the above.
I’m new to politics. Is it always like this?!
It’s gotten so bad that I’ve divided my friends into two categories:
1) Those who “Drank the Kool-Aid.”
2) Those who “Get It.”
Or, the stupid and the smart. I just can’t respect people who are buying this charade, this sham, this takeover. I stare at them buggy eyed, with my mouth hanging open! Are they blind? Are they deaf? It’s driving me crazy! It doesn’t take a, well, a “bimbo” to realize what is happening!
The President continues, “I don’t have all the specific details ironed out yet!” Laughter! People laugh out loud! The President finally told the truth!!!
Then, he continues with his lies. FREE STUFF FOR EVERYONE!! YAY!! I’M THE MAGIC MAN!!!
I think of those Funnel Cakes I saw at the L.A. County Fair the other day. What is a Funnel Cake? I think it’s a deeply fried and refried glob of dough that’s covered with sugar and syrup and whipped cream. The President should say, “Free Funnel Cakes for everyone and there are NO CALORIES!!”
I turn the TV off, shut my eyes, and start to pray for the blind and deaf people in our country.
My friend calls me. She is a Hollywood director, not a conservative, not into politics. She whispers into the phone, “Hey Vic, what can I do to help the cause? This guy is making me feel scuzzy. He’s lying.” I flip her over from the “Kool-Aid” side to the “Get-It” side.

I wish I could say the same… I have one in my family (by mariage does that still count?) and she believes EVERY single cherry flavored sugar filled glass of koolaid. I tolerated all her posts on FB over and over up until lately. Now, I figured if she doesn't care about others and their political beliefs that differ from hers.. than neither do I
So, yeah there are believers out there it is why they need people who "get it" to stand strong and knock that koolaid cup from their hands!
Hearing someone with the guts to yell "lie" reminds me of the vigorous and exciting debates in the British, Australian and New Zealand pariaments (don't know about Canada)where vigorous responses and reaction to speeches is democracy in action. Whether in government or opposition speakers had better be prepared for loud responses if they try to spin or distort. The result is that politicians are prepared and sharp enough to respond firmly or with humor to verbal onslaught. In comparison our representatives are a dull and protected bunch. No wonder they can't handle Town Hall meetings.

I grew up in a very politically active/vocal household, and have been following politics for 40 years. Although there's always been collegiality on the surface, especially since C-span, when they get down to it, "gutter" politics is the norm.
What's much more disturbing to me is that it's spread to a vast number of the American people. That you have to distinguish your friends as those "who drank the kool-aid" or those that "get it" tells the story. I've always had liberal friends, however our friendship always outweighed our politics. In the last 10 years, that seems to have changed. Most of those friendships have "withered on the vine", and I find myself assoicating only with like minded people. I miss many of those friends, but it's just become too hard to listen to people who don't "get it".

The only person telling the truth last night was Joe Wilson. I was livid listening to this speech in my car. Largely because even I knew that everything Obama was saying was a lie. How can he say that it won't add "one dime" to the federal deficit? Even the CBO puts the costs at nearly a trillion dollars….this guy is truly living in a fantasy world – one where he actually believes what he says….can't wait for '12 to get here….

Example: Tuesday night, a library patron came in, with whom I've had a running debate about health care reform. I was reading Yahoo News at the time, and asked if she'd seen the latest proposed bill – the one with the potential big fine – up to $3,800 – for anyone without health insurance. She didn't even blink just replied, "That's not true." I told her I had just read it on the news. She repeated, "That's not true." I pointed out that the story was from the AP and not from Fox. Nope, she said it couldn't be true. Finally, I TURNED THE MONITOR AROUND AND LET HER READ THE NEWS STORY FOR HERSELF. She looked straight at me and said, "No, that's not true. It's a big lie."
I just gave up. These people are beyond "blind and deaf" and into Compleat Denial. Not even Kool-Aid can account for it.

You guys should be hoping that Obama's health care plan passes in the senate. That way you can hammer away at it for 3 years, point out health care horror stories real and imagined and completely discredit Obama and his plan until the next election. And that's exactly what will happen. Every night Glen Beck and Sean Hannity will have a special report on something gone wrong (it's a big country and things will go wrong in hospitals just like I'm sure they do now) and Jon Voigt will weigh in. If it doesn't pass you'll still have stuff to whine about but people won't care as much about it as they do about this.
Frankly, I'm afraid to watch the guy talk. Judging from the reactions to this clown during the campaign, I was afraid there was some mass hypnosis going on.
Thankfully, it looks like it's mostly wearing off some people.
Anyway, thanks for watching that for me and reporting back (so I didn't have to). It's a foregone conclusion that he's a liar liar pants on fire. I just can't stand listening to him long enough to actualy count up the lies.

Given that, when Liberal Elites argue, they immediately insult the person they disagree with; it's understandable that they only have friends who agree with them. They have driven off everyone else. Thus they have no reference points. Their baseline (to steal a scientific term) is skewed too far. To them any disagreement is akin to treason.
Also, it's truly funny when "hack comic" and "c-grade actress" stand as an intelligent response to one person's opinion. What's next? Nah, Nah, Nah, and your feet stink, too!

My 12 year old son was watching the speech and fell asleep about three-quarters of the way through. When he woke up he said to me (paraphrasing…) "Dad, Obama says "umm" a lot. Makes me think he's lying, or doesn't know what he's talking about." I gave my littlest a big fat hug. I pray for a lot for his (his siblings) and now my grandaughters generation…

Same here on Joe Wilson…I am encouraged by his guts and so disappointed that he was "forced" (by whom I don't know) to apologize. His outbursts were entirely appropriate. I only wish the entire Republican side of the aisle had stood up and yelled "liar" as a chorus. Wilson is the one with the guts and then he gets trashed for supposedly breaking protocol? Good Lord…someone speaks the truth and gets punished for it? That is not how it is supposed to work. We live in an upside down world, to say the least.
The other thing I wanted to tell you is that the people who used to be my "friends," who are liberals on Kool Aid, have all become estranged and have told me to shut up. Literally one of them called me up to tell me she could not speak to me anymore because she "LLUUVVSS Obama soooooo much." I was shocked. I can't even imagine someone is that sucked into this cult. They don't want to "get it." Obama is somehow fulfilling some sort of weird sickness in some very sad and empty souls. Hitler got away with it for awhile and millions died due to his cult following….I'm very certain we are witnessing a similar situation here. I'm praying with you that we can defeat this coup from hell….and, like you I am doing things I never dreamed I would be doing to try to help our cause. Writing and calling congressional reps and senators, writing my own blog, (http://myteapartychronicle.blogspot.com), writing letters to the editor of our local newspaper, sending money to conservative causes, etc.

Obama's getting a free ride from the left. Luckily some in the middle are waking up to this guy.
