Get Out of Jail Free? — A Call For Truth in the Media

by Chele Stanton

Contrary to the most recent descriptions of who I am because of my beliefs, activities, and actions – I am not a racist, homophobe, Muslim hating, ignorant, gun loving, tea-bagging, swastika carrying, redneck, mobster – I am an American… An educated, God-fearing, compassionate, and peaceful woman who loves her country and is not embarrassed to say that I am genuinely PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! That is not an arrogant statement. In fact, I feel humbled and extremely blessed to have been born and raised in this great land of freedom.

So why is it that if I didn’t vote for Barack Obama to be in the White House, it’s because I must be a racist?  Are you kidding me?  What about – I didn’t agree with his policy of hope and change or his stance on abortion?  What if I don’t support health care reform and want government to be less involved in telling me where and when to spend my hard earned money?  How about maybe I’m a bit concerned that he has ties to an unrepentant terrorist, grew up with associations and beliefs in Socialism and Marxism or sat in a church for 20 years under the leadership of someone who hates white people and America?  No, the reason I might not have voted for him had nothing to do with race…  (more…)

The Case Against Mortarboarding

by Burt Prelutsky

I have received a number of e-mails over the years from disgruntled parents griping about the left-wing indoctrination their kids are forced to undergo at colleges and universities all over America.  One minute, it seems, the kids are sane, or at least as sane as one can expect of 18-year-olds, and the next thing you know they’re parroting the likes of Ward Churchill, William Ayers and Noam Chomsky, bad-mouthing America and yodeling the praises of such left-wing troglodytes as Hugo Chavez, the Castro brothers and Barack Obama. I feel their frustration.  Even if the little nincompoops can’t do long division or write a coherent sentence, parents feel like child abusers if they don’t pony up the dough to send their kids off for what is laughingly referred to as higher education.

If I were running things, most high school grads would enter trade schools.  America will always need nurses, plumbers, carpenters, glaziers and mechanics.  What nobody needs is some 21-year-old schnook who’s wasted four years and most of his inheritance majoring in black, Hispanic or lesbian, studies.  And, then, to make matters worse, because like the Scarecrow of Oz, they have a sheepskin, they’re actually convinced they’re smarter than their parents.

One of my readers, Penny Alfonso, of Glendale, California, shared a conversation she had with her daughter.  “I told her I won’t pay the tuition for any classes that end in the word “studies”.  I have also told her that while I have no right to tell her how to think, if she comes home hating America and spewing the lies of the leftists, I will tell her I love her, and that she has the right to believe whatever she wants to believe, but I don’t have to pay for it.  In the 20 years of her life, if she’s learned nothing else, she has learned that I am completely serious about this.”  (more…)

The Real Meaning of the 4th of July is Revolution

by Chris Burgard

Two hundred and thirty-three years ago, fifty six of our forefathers signed their names to the Declaration of Independence. They brought forth a new nation conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

They started a war. My ancestor, Francis Lightfoot Lee was one of those men. They started the revolution that birthed this nation.

Now we are engaged at a crossroads of history, testing whether the leaders of this nation so conceived and dedicated, still hold those same truths and ideals to be self-evident.

Iranian citizens have taken to the streets of their cities in the pursuit of freedom and liberty. They sought, and deserved, their own revolution. The Iranian government murdered and persecuted them for it. Our government voted present.  (more…)

Did You Hear the One About President Obama?

by John T. Simpson

You know, people, it’s a damn shame. I remember when great comedians like Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce held nothing sacred. I know I don’t. And so many comedians, especially late-nighters, are really missing the boat with President Obama. There’s a wealth of material just waiting to be tapped, and I’m really not looking forward to four more years of lame Bush and Palin jokes. Are you?

All it takes is one person to break the ice. Example. Twenty years ago, my brother won tickets to a Journey concert in Worcester, Massachusetts on the radio. We rode a packed WBCN Party Bus out of Boston, but everyone was kind of uptight and kept to themselves, like there were cops in the crowd. So I took a risk and lit up a big fattie anyway. Within minutes, it was like a Cheech and Chong movie. You couldn’t see out the windows. Everyone was laughing, joking, hacking and toking. (more…)

The Left Has Spoken: Today, We Are All Extremists

by John T. Simpson

The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belong to one category.” – Adolf Hitler.

“At this point, whatever dividing line there was between mainstream conservatism and the black-helicopter crowd seems to have been virtually erased.” – NY Times columnist Paul Krugman.

Paul Krugman

Really sucks to be a conservative these days. I feel like I’m walking around with a big bulls-eye on my back. I know many of the Left, especially Keith Olbermann, Frank Rich, Paul Krugman, the New York Times editorial staff and all the pundits at HuffPo and KOS would find that statement hilariously ironic, given the recent shooting deaths of Dr. George Tiller in Kansas and security guard Steven T. Johns at the Holocaust Museum. Then again, they’re not the ones being branded en masse as co-conspirators in those murders. Conservatives are. (more…)

Let’s Ban Some Brits

by Jeffrey Jena

I have a confession to make; I am a fan of Dr. Michael Savage. Before you get all blue in the face and start screaming at me about how hateful he is I will admit sometimes he says things I don’t agree with. I didn’t agree with everything my grandmother used to say either but I never threw her under the bus when it served my purpose like a certain President of the United States. Dr. Savage sometimes uses language I find offensive but then again so do Barack Obama and a number of his friends.

I have been reading a few liberal blogs today and they are ecstatically gleeful over the news. Mocking Dr. Savage and making sophomoric jokes about his birth name. These are the same creative geniuses’ who made fun of Bush’s intellect and vocabulary and the best they can do is some lame penis jokes? Instead of standing for the basic principle of freedom of speech that is included in the enumerated rights of both nations they applaud the creeping totalitarianism enabled by useful idiots like Home Secretary Jacqui Smith. Ms. Smith is a controversial figure in Great Britain and is embroiled in several scandals involving her financial dealings, spying on private citizens and attempting to revoke Habeas Corpus. If she loses her position there she might make a fine addition to the Obama administration. (more…)

Pardon the Obama Media Hypocrisy!

by Brian Jennings

When writing my book Censorship: The Threat To Silence Talk Radio, I included one of the Obama campaign’s most hypocritical moments.  After reading this, you’ll have no question why the “Teleprompter of the United States” needs one.  John McCain was no challenge in the debates but Obama avoided this confrontation. An excerpt from my book which Simon & Schuster will publish May 5th:

In late August, 2008, Obama supporters unleashed their venom on Chicago’s WGN radio for allowing a critic of Barack to come on the air.  The station had scheduled an interview with Stanley Kurtz, author of an article that linked Obama to 60’s radical William Ayers.  (Ayers – now a professor in the College of Education at University of Illinois – was co-founder of a radical left-wing organization called the Weather Underground that was responsible for bombings of public buildings in the 60’s and 70’s, resulting in injuries to and deaths of several people.)  (more…)
