Hipster Irony Alert Part Deux!: Watch Jon Stewart Celebrate Results of ‘Torture’

by John Nolte

Here’s Jon-Smuggy-McSmirk-ObamaButtBoy-Stewart in April of 2009, sanctimoniously accusing his own country of torture:

—–

Oh, but wait… Even though, according to –wait for it! wait for it! — MSNBC, “waterboarding aided the bin Laden raid,” below is Jon Stewart yesterday celebrating the results of same waterboarding with proclamations about America being back, uhm, baby. Yep, according to Mr. Stewart, America has its “balls” back, but of course neglects to mention (or doesn’t yet know) that we wouldn’t have without a little of what he described and defines as “torture.”

I guess the results of “torture” and the actions of Cheney’s “secret assassination squad” are all good if Obama gets a poll bounce:

Daily Gut: Bush Says He’d Waterboard Again

by Greg Gutfeld

So President Bush came out of hibernation, to attend something called the Economic Club, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There he defended his use of waterboarding, and said he’d do it again in a heartbeat.

“Yeah, we water-boarded Khalid Sheikh Mohammed,” Bush said of the terrorist behind 9/11. “I’d do it again to save lives.”

bush-miss-me-yet

Now, whether you agree with him or not, and whether you hate his guts or not – you gotta like that. No heavy lifting in that vocab: simple, straightforward, and honest. I miss that.

I mean, would you ever hear Obama say, “Yeah, we lied about the cost of health care, but I’d do it again, because I think it’s worth it.”

Or, “Yeah, I trashed the immigration bill in Arizona without reading it, but so what – I think it sucks. You should too.” (more…)

Bored Bloggers Are All Wet

by Mancow Muller

I am not a magician.  Many news cameras were there!

Obviously, it was on the radio and I wasn’t in prison.  I’m also not a radicalized Muslim terrorist.  But it was not a hoax! I repeat: NOT A HOAX.

We kept telling management, the insurance companies, and the local Chicago cops we weren’t really going to do it until we did.  Otherwise, they weren’t gonna let us do it!  We got a U.S. Marine that told us he had studied how to do it and he volunteered to waterboard me in return for a mention of his charity.

I was on a decline and I was waterboarded.  Was I in chains?  No.  Does that make it less real?  I am failing to get the point attempted by my detractors.  We never claimed it was an exact recreation.

The CIA technique is exactly what we did:

1.    Keep the chest elevated above the head and neck to keep the lungs “above the waterline.” (more…)

An Open Letter to Speaker Pelosi

by Bob Hamer

Ms. Pelosi:

I’ll make this brief because I know you are busy.

I wanted to remind you of the oath you first took in 1987 and reaffirm at the start of each new Congress. It reads:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Maybe I am missing something but I read nothing about political parties, putting your interests above the nation’s, or putting your party’s interests above the nation. (more…)

Daily Gut: Saving Face Vs. Saving Lives

by Greg Gutfeld

It’s always amazing listening to people who believe you must adhere to a set of standards when fighting an enemy who refuses to believe standards exist. Our enemy – who beheads the innocent, flings acid into the faces of children, and flies planes into buildings – must relish this endless opera of handwringing – for they know a worried adversary is a weakened one.

Lets get this straight: implementing enhanced interrogation techniques is not immoral. What’s immoral is not doing everything possible to prevent an enemy from killing the people you love. That one rule overrules everything – making the actions you take toward that enemy supremely moral – whether the acts involve waterboarding, sleep deprivation, playing loud music, or watching David Shuster. Terror Pictures, Torture Pictures

by Ari David

Declassification of the torture memos was big news a couple of weeks ago, with the glaring omission of what terror attacks were prevented by the water boarding. The news media did not seem to care though. Instead of “moving on” they enjoyed their “back to the future” moment of wallowing in the gloried past of the Bush administration’s “atrocities.”

This week the Obama administration is going to give us another dose of the “America is evil” evidence by releasing photos and other visual evidence that shows Bush, Cheney and others allowing rogue CIA agents to do terrible things to helpless Muslims who were innocently targeted and hustled off to Guantanamo.

This has made me think of other images of atrocity that I would actually like to see to remind me of our enemy’s brutality.

On September 11th, 2001 numerous people plummeted 1200+ feet out of the world trade center because they determined that dying of an impact on concrete after falling about ¼ mile to earth at a speed of 32 feet per second squared (the speed of gravity for those of you who aren’t into physics) was preferable to burning to death in the stricken towers.  (more…)

One Man’s Colonic is Another Man’s Torture

by John Scott Lewinski

You’re going to have to excuse hard-left Hollywood types if they don’t get on board for the whole waterboarding thing. The concepts of forceful interrogations and the need to get dangerous people to reveal their life-threatening plans is as far removed from their daily experiences as, say, humility or well-reasoned arguments.

Most folks working in the entertainment industry live in pockets of Los Angeles in which they’re so warmly cocooned in smug, safe familiarity that they don’t have to worry about encountering so much as an opposing political philosophy, let alone a foreign hostile enthusiastically set on killing them. How are these actors, writers, directors, producers, et. al, supposed to take foreign terrorist threats seriously when the most they have to concern themselves with during their average day is whether that spa barista really did use soy milk and not non-fat in their morning coffee colonic? Getting Real About Torture

by Mark Tapson

Since our country’s having a heated conversation about torture, and especially since that conversation seems certain to devolve into a parade of politicized, self-flagellating show trials that will broadcast our divided weakness to the world, it’s time to get some perspective on what torture is and isn’t, and who does it and who doesn’t.

Let me state for the record that I firmly believe America should not torture. But I’m at ease about that, because America does not torture. Do we use harsh interrogation techniques?  Of course we do, and why not? This is war – why should we treat captive enemy combatants to a rejuvenating stay at the Four Seasons? Some of these maniacs plotted the devastation of 9/11, all cheered it, and if given the chance, all would gleefully saw your head off and then post a video of it on the Internet as inspiration for others of their fanatical ilk. Many of them might have information that could prevent further mayhem here and abroad – information they’re not going to volunteer simply because we’re congenial hosts. (more…)

Torture and Gitmo! (Featuring Steven’s Beheading)

by Steven Crowder

I hate to say it, but we’re officially becoming a nation of sissies with radical leftists leading the cause. Tipping our hand to the enemy and openly “banning torture” defies all logic and denies the history of war. Now, before you start groaning about it, I know that there were many more points to be covered… But YOU try making the idea of released detainee’s going back to terrorism funny.

It should also be noted that many Gitmo detainees actually GAIN weight as result of finally eating on a regular basis. Really though, with Michael Moore featured in last week’ video… How many more “fat jokes” do you need?
