[Editor's Note: Script reviews of upcoming projects have been around for as long as there's been an Internet. Therefore it's no secret that a film can evolve into something quite different from its screenplay. Please keep in mind that this article represents a look at a particular script and not the final product.]

There are different ways to write and make movies. Very few are made from the heart; many more are formula based. There are movies inspired by dishwasher manuals and a great number derived from Marxist textbooks. And there is a special category of movies: those written and made by self-righteous hypocrites.

—–

“The Whistleblower” is a drama based on the experiences of Kathryn Bolkovac (played by Rachel Weisz), a Nebraska cop who served as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia and exposed the U.N. for covering up a sex scandal involving peacekeepers and an international ring of sex traffickers. The cast also includes Monica Belluci, Vanessa ‘best friend of Israel after Obama’ Redgrave and David Strathairn among others.

As Kathryn investigates the exploitation of young and underage girls, she discovers that “sex lords” are bribing the UN officials to run the illegal prostitution clubs that spring up like mushrooms across the war-ridden and apocalyptic Balkan terrain. Moreover, not only are the UN officials are being bribed to close their eyes on sex slavery but, in fact, the clubs are really operating to serve the UN peacekeeping force. The story also flashes back to how an underage Ukrainian girl is tricked into sex slavery by her own relatives.

After nominally showing other UN peacekeepers abusing underage slave girls, the story turns into a full-fledged attack on a military contractor’s (“Dyncorp”) cover up of its employees whom Kathryn Bolkovac threatens to expose. So Dyncorp becomes the main villain, and it is mentioned in the same breath as “Halliburton.” That magic word that is honey to a leftist’s ear. Mentioning Halliburton in the popular culture is like having a plague sign nailed to a medieval city wall. Whatever comes into contact with it is automatically doomed as rotten. I mean, you can discredit the Dalai Lama by attaching him to Halliburton. You can even discredit Deepak Chopra by attaching him to Halliburton . . . though you can also do that just by reading his books.

So, the real culprit of the story is Dyncorp, who covers up its employees’ abuse and, of course, and you knew, this was coming . . . the State Department that covers up for Dyncorp. The plotline gets rapidly obsessed with the military contractors and the State Department as if they are the ones who invented sex slavery and prostitution.

And, of course, the State Department and Dyncorp are now hell-bent on killing Kathy, just like they were hell-bent on killing Valerie Plame, right?

The assassination plot device is precious . . . and as substantiated as Mayor Bloomberg fearing that Time Square car may have been rigged to blow by an American disenchanted by a health care bill. Again, not to defend Dyncorp’s alleged attempt to get rid of a whistleblower by firing her, but there is a fine line between firing someone and firing a bullet into someone’s head.

With all their sophistication and monitoring every move of their own operative, the Dyncorp/State Department assassination plot, of course, fails.

Every time I see a noble human rights warrior targeted for assassination by an evil American State Department or corporation, I am staggered by the inefficacy of the latter in dispatching their intended target. I mean, how hard could it really be? And yet, the State Department (or whoever) never ever succeeds and the heroes end up freely exposing whatever they are determined to expose.

What makes me personally disappointed in movies like The Whistleblower is the wasted potential and its outright hypocrisy. Although it is fair to criticize, and especially to fight, those who went to protect and ended up having sex with under age girls, the screenplay of The Whistleblower fails to explore the tragedy as a result of fraudulent human nature and the overall UN corruption, but rather as a self-serving singling-out of the military contractors…the American military contractors.

If it chose, on the other hand, to document the story of abuse particular to post-war Bosnia, then it is blatantly one-sided because the peacekeepers, especially the American ones, are depicted as sex maniacs whose sole purpose is to have sex in Bosnia. Forget about putting their ass in the middle of two fratricidal maniacs and trying to calm down a millennium-long-brewed genetic animosity, the peacekeepers are here solely to abuse the young girls whom they came to protect. That’s the impression one gets from the script, and the impression is usually the result of intention.

And by shifting the focus of the movie to “America is the worst and the American military in all its forms is the darkest force since Darth Vader,” the plot of The Whistleblower loses its importance and passion because of the failure to address the cause of sex slavery and its real culprits and turns into a comic feminist rendition of Matt Damon’s wet dream fantasy Bourne movies.

In the attempt to quench a leftist thirst for putting down the military, The Whistleblower like its ilk of naïve but dangerous political movies, sacrifices the real issue of sex trafficking like a virgin to a persistent dragon of propaganda.

On a more tragic note, the creators of The Whistleblower indirectly (or, perhaps, directly) abuse children by using them for their political purposes. Letting the real culprits off the hook and chasing the American military contractors instead, proves that the creators are not really concerned about sex slavery as much as they think they are but simply use the rape of children as a platform to denigrate American military. Otherwise they would deal with real statistics that shows the American peacekeeping force as the least involved in the debauchery and abuse of all the UN peacekeeping nations worldwide.

A simple research such as the one contacted by William Norman Grigg in his article “Beasts in Blue Berets’ (published in The New American with some references to similar expositions in the Village Voice) will reveal shocking abuses, for example, of Belgian UN peacekeepers in Somalia who fried a young boy for stealing food and a Belgian Het Laatste Nieuws newspaper rewarded with a bomb threat (in Belgium) for breaking the undesired news.

The research will also reveal disturbing accounts of Italian troops torturing and abusing Somalis and a 46-page report documenting that “the criminal events were not just the result of ‘rotten apples’ that you may find in any structure, but were rather the consequence of a stretched line of command and amused compliance toward such high jinks by some junior officers.”

Then, there are 47 Canadian UN troops who served in Bosnia, yes in Bosnia, and were accused of “drunkenness, sex, black marketeering and patient abuse at a mental hospital they were guarding.” The Whistleblower is a German-Canadian co-production so where is the Canadian self criticism of this outrageous case? All you get about other UN troop abuses in the screenplay of The Whistleblower is a throwaway line that ends with the protatgonist telling the audience Americans aren’t legally accounable for anything they do.

No, Kathy, they are accountable and interestingly they proportionally commit less abuse than any other participant country as evidence after evidence will show if you only bother looking at it, instead of listening to your boyfriend!

Many international humanitarian observers and Pentagon officials note that such problems (prostitution, sex trafficking, narco-business) are predictable, given that “the international police task force [in Bosnia] is a compendium of people from diverse countries with different degrees of professionalism and training and different backgrounds in operations and ethics”. This sounds like the real problem, doesn’t it?

Now, why the creators of The Whistleblower chose to go after the least guilty and by doing so let the real culprit slip away? Isn’t this against any investigative logic? Isn’t this truly despicable, that in an attempt to score cheap political points, which is the only real reason this movie is being made in the first place, they would go as low as to use sex slavery of underage girls? How different they are from physical abusers or those who sell these girls into slavery?

The only noble soldier with real lines is Kathy’s boyfriend, the aforementioned Dutch peacekeeper Jan, who hates the concept of his friends raping girls, but occasionally gives them a ride from the sex club when they are pissed drunk. Again, it is a matter of choice and probably based on a true boyfriend . . . but why Dutch? Were there no good American peacekeepers to fall in love with? Or may it be that real Kathy (or at least the way she is portrayed in the script) had some issues of her own, because as much as she tries to save girls from drunk peacekeepers, she just cannot stop spewing talking points on how what is considered brave for a man in America is considered bad for a woman. This is so old and so Berkeley that no serious American man can take it anymore, which explains the Dutch boyfriend.

Remember, Amsterdam is liberals’ El Dorado. Every disenchanted liberal threatens to leave oppressive America for Amsterdam the city where you can smoke pot, have abortions, enjoy tulips, neo-Calvinism, and euthanasia. Not to mention your pick of prostitutes, sitting on display in windows, many of them sex slaves themselves.

So when Kathy fears for her life, threatened by Dyncorp and the State Department, the Dutch boyfriend calls her and says, “It’s time to come home.”

Yes, Kathy welcome to Amsterdam, the safest city in the world! Make sure you visit those colorful tulip fields, the Van Gogh’s museum and, of course, Linnaeusstraat street where in the early morning of November 2, 2004, an Islamist thug barbarically murdered, by shooting, stabbing and attempting to decapitate, Van Gogh’s grandson, Theo—a real whistleblower who made a movie about women’s abuse by real villains who really kill, even in such places as Amsterdam.

Hopefully, to refute doubting loudmouths like me, the creators of The Whistleblower will make a movie one day that exposes sex trafficking and child abuse that is happening in their immediate neighborhood- the hills of Los Angeles. Thus, finally, making the point that it is not just girls from impoverished countries who are victims of sex abuse and it is not just military men who abuse them, but also young, underage or ‘barely legal’ actresses and models who are raped and abused by pacifist directors and producers right here in Hollywood.

I know that bringing up Polanski on a conservative-leaning blog is like exposing Nosferatu to the light, and being one of the most famous cases, Polanski’s sin, compared to what is really going in this town, can be considered mild. Yet, it is this connection to Polanski, as well, that moves The Whistleblower from the category of “evil Halliburton movies” to the category of “movies made by self righteous hypocrites,” like Monica Belluci, whose name you will see in the main credits of the movie as well as under the “Release child-rapist Roman Polanski” petition.

With all your love and respect for the military, not unlike Belluci’s love and respect for Polanski, I don’t think, liberal or conservative, you should be going out of your way to justify child abuse because of the peacekeepers’ combat fatigue or tough terrain filled with mines, and that’s exactly what you should expect from the people who make movies as well. When it comes to the gut-wrenching issue of using a child as a sex toy, we really should level the damn field.

“The Whistleblow” hits theatres August 5th.

So, it was like a sequel to a Rob Schneider movie, and not even Rob Schneider bothered to return.

I speak of the U.N Framework Convention on Climate Change that annoyed Cancun, Mexico earlier this month. Mind you, over ten thousand people have been murdered over drugs in that country this year -so this confab seemed about as relevant as a pimple on a griffen’s butt.

It was only a year ago that the Copenhagen Summit was kind of a big deal, but that faded faster than my Ed Hardy denim underwear. So it’s no surprise that the experts here have turned to the gods for help. Christian Figuera, the executive secretary, desperately invoked the ancient jaguar goddess Ixchel – for she’s not only goddess of the moon, but also “reason, creativity and weaving.”

Yes, weaving. Because, “you are gathered in Cancun to weave together the elements of a solid response to climate change…” blah blah..time for a break:

Uganda’s First Action Movie Trailer – Watch more Funny Videos

—–

So anyway, what was once almost policy is now parody. You’ve got every climate change model in dispute – thanks to the climategate emails, lies about hockey stick graphs and phony Himalayan glacier meltdowns. As someone willing to seriously discuss global warming – it’s a relief to see the hysteria die, but it’s also sad to think that maybe some of the science might have had merit. They screwed the pooch. And the planet.

Still, our American climate ambassador (yeah, there’s such a thing) Jonathan Pershing has pledged billions of our tax money to help promote provisions that won’t do crap after all that money has been spent.

Me, I’d rather spend it on an ancient jaguar goddess. She could weave me a Navajo blanket. My houseboy has to sleep somewhere.

And if you disagree with me, you’re a racist, homophobic Cancunophobe.

A couple of weeks ago, a Facebook group called “Against Jennifer Lopez Performing in Occupied Cyprus” came to my attention. Being a Greek-American and half Cypriot, I immediately investigated and found out that Ms. Lopez was scheduled to perform in Cyprus on July 24th, as part of the opening of the Cartos Premium Hotel and in celebration of her 41st birthday. The uproar was due to the fact that the event was not an ordinary concert at some new 5-star hotel at a Mediterranean resort, it was a hotel that is located in the town of Kyrenia, which is one of the many towns occupied unlawfully by the Turks.

Why would this be so personal? Because my Grandparents are from Kyrenia and their land was unlawfully taken away from them during the Turkish occupation of Cyprus in 1974. Even though they had to come to the United States many years prior and became American citizens (like they use to do back in the day), there is no recourse for them to claim what is rightfully theirs. In brief, the Turks invaded the northern half of Cyprus, brutalizing its citizens and evicting 180,000 Greek Cypriots from their homes as Turkish Forces settled the Turks into the properties of those displaced Greeks.

The events were a violation of the Geneva Convention and various UN resolutions. In 1983, Turkish Cypriots proclaimed the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus which is recognized only by Turkey. So when I read about J. Lo’s concert it affected me as well as many others of Greek heritage.

Believe me, I get it, if you are blessed enough to have a high profile career like Ms. Lopez, people will pay $3 million dollars for an evening in your presence. God Bless you that is your path, but no matter what amount of money or accolades you will attain from the experience, one really must know who they are breaking bread with. I was not hopeful all the website groups and the subsequent emails to Ms. Lopez’s and her agents would have an affect because I, for one, did not think they would even be aware of the severity of that island’s history. Additionally, for someone who does not have a vested interest, who cares? — it’s one night, you fly in on a private jet, you belt out 8 songs, you are fed well, photographed, put up in a beautiful suite and then flown out on a private jet the next day. So I was shocked when I read a few days ago that Ms. Lopez withdrew from her commitment with the Cartos Hotel and made the following statement:

“Jennifer Lopez would never knowingly support any state, country, institution or regime that was associated with any form of human rights abuse, after a full review of the relevant circumstances in Cyprus, it was the decision of her advisors to withdraw from the appearance. This was a team decision that reflects our sensitivity to the political realities of the region.”

Jennifer please allow me to say “Euxaristo Para Poli”—which is thank you very much in Greek. I was so impressed that you took a stance and you and your people took the time to investigate the situation.

Unfortunately, in the litigious world that we live in, Ms. Lopez has been threatened with a $35-$40 million lawsuit for reneging on her obligation. I wouldn’t expect anything else from full-fledged thieves. In the end it will cost her at the very least legal fees, but she made the right decision this time — not taking blood money and doing what was morally and ethically correct.

It’s very much appreciated J.Lo, and a tray of homemade baklava is on me!

So Mexican President Felipe Calderon was at the White House Wednesday, where he bashed Arizona’s new immigration law, calling it discriminatory to Mexicans.

The best part: when he said he wants “a border that will unite us instead of dividing us.” Uh, sounds nice – but aren’t borders the physical manifestation of division? Isn’t division… the point?

But he said this in Spanish – which to me is kinda divisive, since I took two years of it in school and was too drunk at the time to remember any of it. Nonetheless, our President gamely threw Arizona under the bus – no surprise since he never read the damn law, anyway.

We also discussed the new law in Arizona which is a misdirected effort, a misdirected expression of frustration over our broken immigration system which has raised concerns in both our countries. Today, I want every American to know that my administration has devoted unprecedented resources in personnel and technology to securing our border. Illegal immigration is down, not up, and we will continue to do what’s necessary to secure our shared border.

All hail modern American diplomacy. Earlier this week, one of our jackass diplomats groveled before the Chinese – who kill dissidents for fun – over our human rights violations. And then, of course, the UN – who, on our dime, allow misogynists, thugs and dictators to sit on commissions – said Arizona violates international standards. I supposed if we started raping more, we’d fit the UN criteria.

And now Calderon comes here to tell us we discriminate – simply because we want what Mexico already has – a border.

It makes me wonder how he’d feel if I came to Mexico and condemned his Gestapo-like immigration laws. Like I said before, anyone deported from Mexico who tries to return, can be jailed for up to ten years. And foreigners can be banned if they upset “the equilibrium of the national demographics,” are judged harmful to “economic or national interests,” or if “they are not physically or mentally healthy.”

Now that’s divisive!

But no one cares – because no one’s trying to get into Mexico. Instead of obsessing over our laws, Felipe should ask himself why his countrymen are dying, literally, to come here.

It’s definitely not for the Mexican food.

I’ve eaten at Chevy’s.

So every day another embarrassing revelation exposes climate change experts as confused bumble-heads. The latest? Apparently the UN panel on climate change based recent conclusions regarding vanishing ice from mountain tops on anecdotes found in a “mountaineering” magazine.

Now, this would be hilarious, if it wasn’t for the fact that quadrillions of dollars are at stake. (And just so you know: quadrillions can buy a lot of unicorn porn.) I’m not going to use this latest revelation to hammer these “experts,” even though they’d do that to a “skeptic” like me, if they had the chance. I just want to nail two key points:

*this news shows exactly why climate change researchers must release data and reveal methods. If they have nothing to hide, then their work’s credibility will only increase. The fact that they’re trying to avoid that makes me think they’re basing their data on articles from Cosmo. FYI: global warming can and does make it harder to find your g-spot, says Darla, age 23, data analyst.

*There are few real experts on climate change – only pawns used to justify policies that will inevitably sodomize our economy. By the way, I include myself as a non-expert. I was an English major, who spent the last twenty years drunk, shirtless and weeping. But this is a good thing: whether you think humans cause global warming or not, we’re all in this boat of ignorance together, and therefore should be more tolerant of opposing views. If so-called experts are culling mountain ice data from Penthouse Letters (apparently melting glaciers totally cause chicks to remove their tops faster, says Vic, 25, a pizza deliveryman), then we are all so-called experts.

That should make you happy.

And if it doesn’t, then you’re probably a planet-hating racist homophobe who eats polar bears for breakfast.

Could this be true?

Barack Obama does not have Angelina Jolie’s seal of approval.

“She’s into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts. She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise,” adds the source.

But don’t expect to see the Salt actress rally against Democrats on Fox News like her staunch Republican father, Jon Voight.

Wouldn’t be the first time Jolie went against the leftist grain.

So a dude at the UN named Martin Scheinin filed a report calling for a trashing of our current counter-terrorism policies. The new plan, he believes, should “abandon the ‘war paradigm’” and “enshrine the principles of gender-equality and non-discrimination…”

Among his odder proposals: rethinking security checks that “focus attention on male bombers who may be dressing as females to avoid scrutiny [and] make transgender persons” – who might also be cross-dressing – “susceptible to increased harassment and suspicion.”

Martin Scheinin

Translation: checking for dudes who conceal bombs via cross-dressing hurts the feelings of men who cross-dress as a lifestyle choice.

Okay.

I can’t figure out if this is the worst story ever, or THE GREATEST STORY EVER.

I mean, in terms of revealing what the UN does best, this report takes the transgendered cake: simultaneously undermining the war on terror while making a mockery of common sense. When the UN isn’t trying to minimize mass murder, this mishmash of maniacs is trying to commit it themselves.

The war on terror is not a lab for social engineering. The war on terror cannot be guided by hurt feelings or the politically correct desires belonging to someone who fried his brain on Oprah. The war on terror is meant to protect innocent individuals from terror – be these innocent folks gay, straight, transgender or half man/half unicorn. If America were to take this UN report seriously, we would put everyone at risk, including the dumbasses at the UN.

But it should be no surprise that the UN would put the feelings of a cross dressing, transgendered person before the safety of millions of airline passengers. I would hope that the gay, lesbian and transgendered community would find this equally as ludicrous – and that such thinking risks the lives of everyone, including their own.

But if they don’t, I don’t care.

I’ll still be wearing my floral caftan in first class.

It has embroidered sunflowers.

And if you disagree with me, then you’re probably a racist.

Tonight we’ve got the delightful Alyson Camerata, the sharp-as-a-tack John Devore, Oderus Urangus (from Gwar, as if you need to know), and the hysterical Allen Covert!

President Obama has made the rehabilitation of the reputation of our country one of his top priorities. He wants to be the Sally Field of the international politics and know that other nations like us! They really, really like us. To achieve that end he has apologized for just about every action of the Bush Administration and yet at the UN this past week several of the people the President has been trying to win over still seemed a bit distant. His new BFF Hugo Chavez did give him a nice “smells like hope” compliment, but several other still haven’t gotten the message.

President of all Iranians — both living and dead in the streets — Ahmadinejad still wants to build a few nukes even though Mr. Obama has told him not to. Colonel Qaddhafi, or Gaddahfi or Khaddafi, or Kaddafy or however you spell it, isn’t on board the love train either.

This has not deterred President Obama! Moving swiftly, he said he will name a new Apology Czar, rumored to be either Jimmy Carter or Maxine Waters and set a schedule for more apologies to settle all past wrongs of the United States.

The President is planning a public World Apology Tour for the interventions, imperialism and mistakes the United States has made in the past. The President believes that only then will everyone hold hands with us and join in a rousing chorus of “Kumbaya.”

The Tour Schedule

November 1st – The President will travel to Berlin, Germany to make amends to the German people for our interference in domestic European politics during the First and Second World Wars. Our nation building efforts were unwarranted and resulted in unforeseen liberty and economic development. The President will recommend the return of Poland and France to German control in reparation.

November 4th – The President will stop in Pyongyang, North Korea to offer our apologies to Kim Jong-il for getting involved in what was basically a civil war. The unintended consequence of this action left half of the Korean people living a comfortable and successful lifestyle while their country stole untold millions of car sales from the Japanese.

November 5th - In Tokyo the President will announce the return of the Philippines and Hawaii to the Japanese for our unwanted interference in Asian-Pacific affairs in the 1940s.

November 11th – Set to coincide with Veteran’s Day celebrations, the President will travel to Appomattox, Virginia to apologize to the former Southern states for the Civil War. He will apologize to the South for imposing the morality of the North and imposing their Judeo-Christian view of slavery on Southern plantation owners.

TBA - Trip to France for apology for taking advantage of them during the Louisiana Purchase. Date for apology to the British for the American Revolution…

The abject failures and endemic corruption of the United Nations are issues that I’ve always tried to bring attention to, especially since there are so many blindly faithful UN promoters in the film industry. In fact, the 2nd film that I ever made was Broken Promises: The United Nations at 60 with the late Ron Silver, who continues to be a source of inspiration to me and so many others.

–

Today, President Obama arrives at the UN to continue his policy of appeasement in person. He will become the first president in American history to chair a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, and despite the fact that he had full power over the agenda to be discussed, he decided to take the Iranian and North Korean nuclear programs off the table.

Here is Citizens United’s video response to President Obama’s foreign policy of appeasement.
