Shocker: ‘Daily Show’ Writer Wrote Obama’s Trump Attack

by Hollywoodland

Business Insider:

President Obama’s standup routine at the White House Correspondents Dinner got rave reviews — and it turns out he has writer Kevin Bleyer of “The Daily Show” to thank.Bleyer, who took on jokewriting for the commander-in-chief as a side project, has been a “Daily Show” writer since 2006, sharing in the scores of Emmy nominations and wins with that staff. …

Before boarding Jon Stewart’s ship, Bleyer was a writer on Bill Maher’s old show, “Politically Incorrect,” and “Dennis Miller.”

He got his start in writing as a freelance reporter for “All Things Considered” on NPR.

And Bleyer strikes us as pretty brave: he recently did Republican-skewering jokes during a lecture in Boca Raton, Fla.

The White House Correspondents’ gig wasn’t the Stanford grad’s first time writing for Obama.

New Blacklist: Trump Slams Letterman for ‘Racist’ Charge; Cancels Appearance

by John Nolte

Billionaire and potential GOP candidate Donald Trump deserves much of the criticism currently being thrown his way, but nothing The Donald has said is anywhere near as obscene as the MSM and Left-wing Hollywood attempting to brand him a racist. It’s the single worst charge you can hurl at someone in this day and age and to do so based on no evidence other than Trump’s questioning of a sitting President’s background is beyond the pale.

Yes, Trump said “the blacks.” So what? VP Biden said “clean and articulate,” Senate Majority Leader Reid said “negro dialect,” and Sen. Robert Byrd, a one-time Grand Wizard of the KKK, used the N-word on television just a few years before his death. Like him or not, watching  the same MSM that eagerly participated in the “high tech lynching” of Clarence Thomas now attempting to smear Trump as racist is no different than watching a witch hunt. Pure and simple, this is a baseless charge being hurled to intimidate and quiet a political opponent.

Moreover, you would think that of all people, Hollywood would be the most careful about participating in this kind of political-baiting, but just last week Letterman jumped right on the New Blacklist Bandwagon with a threat to ban Trump from his show for being a communist racist.

Jon Stewart Determined to Keep Birther Issue Alive

by Hollywoodland

—–

Why do Jon Stewart and MSNBC insist on keeping this settled matter of the origin of President Obama’s birth alive and in the news narrative?

This obsssion with the Birther issue, this refusal to let it go… Do you hear a dog whistle? What is that sound? Is it the sound of racial insensitivity?  The sound of “othering”?

We don’t know what jon Stewart’s up to here, but we do think it’s time to follow the President’s lead and turn our attention to serious national issues…

Trump vs. Obama: Accomplished Celebrity vs. Shallow Celebrity

by Steven Crowder

If I were to have told you five years ago that somewhere in the near future, we would see a candidate whisked into office not based on any previous political accomplishments, not for any stellar track record with the American public, but by the sheer magnitude of his celebrity…

…Wait, did I just describe the Barack Obama circa ’08 or did I just describe Donald Trump?

Let me first state that this is not an endorsement, nor a prediction regarding Donald Trump’s viability as a presidential candidate. I have no idea as to whether an iconic walking haircut with teeth can be elected to the Oval office, but the more I think about it, the less it would surprise me. What is important is that we remember this; Barack Obama the politician was never elected to office. Barack Obama the celebrity was.

The Barack Obama with arguably the most far-left track record in the senate and when he wasn’t voting radically left, he voted a mere “present” at least one hundred and twenty nine times… America didn’t know a thing about that Barack Obama. The Barack Obama who graced the covers of men’s magazines, Hollywood tabloids and was declared “vewwyy sexy” by Barbara Walters, that’s the man who leads this country.  He had one thing that no other candidate had and that was his status as a pop-culture icon.

EXCLUSIVE: Carrie Prejean Takes Legal Action Against Miss California USA Officials

by Big Hollywood

RANCHO SANTA FE, CA – Carrie Prejean’s attorney, Charles S. LiMandri announced today that the former Miss California USA is filing a complaint in the Superior Court of California against Miss California USA officials Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler, and publicist Roger Neal.  The complaint cites damages to Miss Prejean including libel, public disclosure of private facts, religious discrimination, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Miss Prejean was fired from her role as Miss California USA in June of this year, following several months of controversy over her answer at the Miss USA pageant regarding same-sex marriage. Lewis claimed Miss Prejean’s termination was due to a violation of contract.  Miss Prejean’s complaint will refute that allegation, and demonstrate that both the chronology and factual evidence clearly show she lived up to all her contractual obligations, but was fired, harassed and publicly attacked solely due to her religious beliefs.

Charles S. LiMandri, attorney for Miss Prejean, released the following statement regarding the complaint:  (more…)

Dave, You’re Fired

by Eric Golub

Dear Mr. Letterman,

Several weeks ago I wrote you a heartfelt letter expressing my concern for the direction that your show was headed. I am sad to see that you have not only not reined in the nastiness, but that your spin cycle is now on viciousness overload.

Mr. Letterman, this is not about your liberalism. I was a fan of yours for 20 years, and put politics aside as my fellow Republicans abandoned your show in droves. I defended you sir, and I am now being forced to eat my words. (more…)

Celebrity Apprentice: Trump Gets It

by Eric Golub

I have said on more than one occasion that I admire Donald Trump, and that I enjoy watching “the Apprentice,” and “Celebrity Apprentice.” A recent episode I watched reinforced my sentiments.

Yes, Donald Trump likes to do things in grand style. Yes, style is a major part of everything he does. Yet my admiration for Mr. Trump is because when the rubber meets the road, substance wins. In Donald Trump’s world,  it is all about merit. He wants the best and brightest. He also wants the toughest. He wants those who work the hardest.

Last year, I praised him for selecting Piers Morgan to be the “Celebrity Apprentice.” Piers was not the most likable (although I thought he was fabulous). He was simply the best. The whole point of “Celebrity Apprentice” is to raise money for charity. Piers Morgan raised the most money. (more…)
