Todd Palin Ready for His Close Up?

by Hollywoodland

The Palins are prepping a new reality television series, but this time it won’t be the Mamma Grizzly in sharp focus.

Instead, Todd Palin will be the main attraction.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Palin and Burnett are pitching another reality series, this one more focused on Palin’s husband Todd and his career as a championship snowmobile racer. But for now, TLC owner Discovery Communications has passed, say sources. And A&E Networks, which entered into a bidding war with Discovery for Sarah Palin’s Alaska, also is not interested.

The show can’t find a network yet, a fact the publication blames in part on the high price tag associated with the show along with Palin’s declining cultural clout.

‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’ Review: Fascinating Look at a Beautiful State & Family

by Lorie Byrd

Will TLC’s new reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, make you want to book a vacation to “America’s last frontier?”  You betcha, it will.  It will also give you a glimpse inside the Palin family and into the life of one of the most famous and interesting women in the world.

The star of the show may be Sarah Palin, but she shares equal billing with the breathtaking Alaskan wildlife and countryside. In the first episode we see a fierce mama brown bear and her cubs fishing just yards away from a small boat where the Palins are casting their lines.  Watching them interact so intimately with nature (wild bears for goodness sake!) is something you don’t see every day.  Actually it is pretty incredible.

Also in the premier episode, through top notch photography and production, we see beautiful footage of Mt. McKinley and learn a little bit about what is involved in climbing the largest mountain in North America.

The Palins don’t just give us a tour, flying from remote location to remote location.  They share the experience – boating, fishing, hiking and even mountain climbing – doing it themselves.  At times they challenge their own weaknesses and limitations (for example, mountain climbing in spite of a fear of heights).

The show provides a triple track experience – a look at the Alaska scenery, the Palin family and the super star politician/media figure (and force of nature herself) Sarah Palin.  Often the three intersect.  (more…)

Palace Guard Comedian: George Lopez Trashes Sarah Palin’s Family

by John Nolte

Courtesy of Newsbusters, another Leftist Palace Guard willing to reach as low as possible for a cheap partisan laugh. Spouses, daughters, whatever… Not surprising, though. This is the same elite Hollywood progressive who called the former governor a “bitch” on television back in February.

Like Sarah Palin, George Lopez has chosen to step into the political arena. By his standards, doesn’t that mean that his wife and children are now fair game for public ridicule? This dealer in comedic-cruelty had better hope no one with a George Lopez-sized mean streak and access to Google decides to walk through the door he just opened.

Newsbusters:

LOPEZ: Sarah Palin needs to be careful because she fits the profile of a Latina.

SHEPHERD: Oh, really?

BEHAR: Oh, really? Tell us.

SHEPHERD: What is the profile?

LOPEZ: Her and her daughter have a kid the same age.  (more…)

Watch Joy Behar and George Lopez Trash Sarah Palin’s Family

by Big Hollywood

Out of context, without all the cheap Palin and Palin-family bashing, as Lopez takes his snarky shot at the Governor’s “inexperience,” you’d swear he was talking about Barack Obama. (more…)

Inside the Letterman/Palin Flap

by John Ziegler

The fact that I’ve needed to correct the record every time I’m involved in some sort of media firestorm (about once a month since the election, it seems), probably says at least as much about the pathetic nature of our news media as anything I put in my documentary “Media Malpractice,” a film whose truth I’ve dedicated almost all of the last year of my life to. The most recent episode involving the controversy over David Letterman’s comments about Governor Sarah Palin and her family is certainly no exception.

First, let me tell you what really happened, and then I can explain what we should all learn from this.  Here’s the timeline…

Monday, June 8th: Letterman uses Palin’s trip to New York to unleash a torrent of  ”comic” attacks on her and her family. The entire “Top Ten” list is devoted to the Governor and includes cracks about her updating her “slutty” wardrobe and possessing illegal drugs. The monologue includes a “joke” about Palin’s “daughter” getting “knocked up” at a Yankees game by Alex Rodriquez during the 7th inning stretch while her mother and a stadium full of spectators presumably watched.   (more…)
