Know Thy Enemy: This Is Not Your Mother’s Democratic Party

by Andrew Breitbart

This week’s Washington Times column:

The Democratic Party’s attitude to elections is admirable: Win. And recent history has shown it will do anything to do so.

When, if not now, will Republicans develop such a fighting spirit?

Democrats invest – with taxpayer money, mind you – in groups like ACORN that, among other sordid tactics, seek out Skid Row bodies and wheel them to polling places. All the Democratic National Committee needs are vans and smelling salts. Pop culture and the “education system” have done the rest, making “D” the default choice on Election Day.

Democrats brazenly take policy positions – think government services and even amnesty for illegal immigrants – not because they are the right thing to do, but because they are time-tested demographic bribes. Forget cigarettes and beer, Democrats would distribute needles, methadone, medical marijuana and biscotti in voter goodie bags if they could get away with it.

The Obama Re-Election Campaign In Full Swing

by Gary Graham

THIS JUST IN: Reports from several Washington insiders came in today with several citizens who saw a flashing VACANCY sign when passing in front of the White House . Apparently it was one of those neon jobbers you see outside a cheap motel. “Vacancy…Vacancy…Vacancy…”

I don’t know, maybe I imagined it.

But hey – ol’ Air Force One is sure getting a workout, eh? Zipping here and there, transporting the President Blither and Yawn hither and yon. Today, President Obama jetted out to Columbus, Ohio to sell his Stimulus Package to the young, eager minds of the graduating police cadet class. In a moving and charismatic speech delivered straight to a couple of Plexiglas prompters on either side of him, the President told the two pieces of glass, “So many of you have been watching jobs disappear long before this recession hit. I don’t need to tell this graduating class what it’s like to know that your job might be next. Because up until a few weeks ago, that is precisely future that this class faced – a future that millions of Americans still face right now. Well, that is not a future I accept for the United States of America.” (more…)

The New and Improved Deal

by Gary Graham

In my never-ending quest to 1) tell the truth, and 2) amuse myself to distraction by thoroughly pissing off the Left, I’d like to say a few words about the upcoming Signing of the Stimulus Bill.  Considering the expense involved in flying the President’s posse, I mean Executive Entourage and Security Detail, aboard Air Force One, one would have to ponder…why Denver?  Why not some other location for this historic event to occur?   Washington, D.C.?  On the East Coast… or the Left Coast?   No, the President is putting his siggy on the largest spending bill in history…in Denver, Colorado.  Smack dab in the middle of the country.  I mean, how Centrist can the man get?  How symbolically inclusive, how fair and balanced, how non-partisan?

And you said this guy is all style over substance. (more…)

Democrats Have Bigger Teats

by Doug TenNapel

I’ve seen the old man make millions of dollars. He was resourceful, clever, thrifty and had the work ethic of an ant colony. This is the rich old man who passes on his life’s earnings to the next generation. The next generation didn’t learn to work, but lived in the comfort of the old man’s palatial estate. Giving the next generation money doesn’t multiply capital, because if they need it in the first place they don’t know how to make it.

That’s President Obama’s stimulus package and it’s also why the money borrowed from our children might as well have been burned…it’s the same tired spending of the last two years, eight years, thirty years, same-o same-o. (more…)

Attach Strings To Everyone Taking Taxpayer Money, Not Just Corporations

by Bob Gale

President Obama has done something I heartily agree with.  He’s telling companies that if they take government handout money – er, bailout money (a.k.a. our tax dollars) — there are things they can’t spend it on.  For example, he’s set limits on executive pay, with a high end of $500,000, along with severe limits on perks.  He’s attached strings to the money.

This, to me, is a basic principle of civilized life: “If you want something from me, I get to make the rules.”  I’ve heard this ever since I started getting an allowance from my father.  Its variation is stated simply, “beggars can’t be choosers.”

If you want a paying job from me, you have to show up at work at the time I decide, and do what I require for the amount of time I choose.  In return for that, I will pay you a sum which I’ve decided is what the job is worth.  In addition, I have the right to set other rules, such as “employees have to wear shirts and can’t wear flip-flops.”  If you don’t like my rules, then don’t take my job or the money that goes with it.  No worries, I’ll get somebody else.   (more…)
