Poor Thanksgiving; it certainly doesn’t generate as much holiday ruckus in Hollywood as Halloween or Christmas do. While it may not be Tinseltown’s favorite holiday, there are still several television shows and films that center on Turkey Day.

As you prepare to fill up on stuffing, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie, I’ve whipped up a short list of favorite Thanksgiving moments on screen.

10. “The Mouse and the Mayflower” – I watched this made-for-TV movie growing up, and it’s probably my all-time favorite Thanksgiving story. The score really sets it apart from the rest, with original songs “November” and “Mayflower,” which my family and I always associate with the holiday. Families will love it for the cutesy mice and the fun little story about how Thanksgiving came to be.

—-

9. “Pieces of April” - Before she was Mrs. Cruise, Katie Holmes starred as April, the family oddball who is stressed about preparing Thanksgiving dinner for her entire clan in her small apartment with a broken oven. If anything, it’s kind of a hoot to see Holmes dressed in punk clothes.

—-

8. “Everybody Loves Raymond” – Debra tries to get everyone to eat Tofurkey (tofu turkey) because its healthier for them, and, needless to say, it doesn’t go over well.

—-

7. “South Park” - The kids have to perform in “Helen Keller” for their Thanksgiving Extravaganza, so of course they replace Helen Keller’s dog with a pet turkey. Absolutely hilarious. Plus, who wouldn’t be intrigued by “Helen Keller: The Musical”?

—-

6. “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” - In the episode “Pangs,” Angel returns, Willow’s upset, Xander get a syphilis scare, Buffy makes a bear when really she’s trying to make dinner and Spike gives us hilarious insight to Thanksgiving. “I just can’t take all this namby-pamby boo-hooing about the bloody Indians. You won. All right? You came in and you killed them and you took their land. All right? You came in and you killed them and you took their land. That’s what conquering nations do. That’s what Caesar did, and he’s not going around saying, ‘I came, I conquered, I felt really bad about it.’ The history of the world is not people making friends. You had better weapons, and you massacred them. End of story.”

—-

5. “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” – Who doesn’t love this TV special? Charlie, Linus, Woodstock and Snoopy throw together a last-minute dinner that Peppermint Patty happily invites herself over to. A classic holiday special for all ages.

—-

4. “Friends” - A series known for its popular, guest-laden Thanksgiving episodes offers up some of the most hilarious plots around turkey time. One episode in particular, “The One with the Rumor,” guest stars Jennifer Aniston’s then-beau Brad Pitt as the former President of the “I Hate Rachel Green Club” from high school. Pure genius on the writers’ part and an all-around goofy dinner scene.

—-

3. “The Ice Storm” – Set on Thanksgiving weekend of 1973, “The Ice Storm” focuses on a wealthy Connecticut family who seems to be living the dream, when really all the characters’ lives are falling apart. Beautifully acted by a stellar cast including a young Tobey Maguire, Elijah Wood and Christina Ricci, the film marks director Ang Lee’s American debut.

—-

2. “Miracle on 34th Street” – Yes, the film is more associated with a different holiday, but the premise of “34th Street” revolves around the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC. The film remains a sentimental classic.

—-

1. “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” -Steve Martin and John Candy are a comedic match made in heaven. This is the ultimate Thanksgiving movie where Martin is struggling to make it home in time for the holiday and encounters problems along the way – including several dysfunctional means of transportation. Candy, an obnoxious shower curtain ring salesman, eventually becomes Martin’s travel companion since they are both trying to get to Chicago. Hilarious and ultimately heartwarming, “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” is one of the season’s best.

Leave it to Cartman to give Occupy Wall Street a much needed dose of reality.

Cartman, the foul-mouthed lad from Comedy Central’s “South Park,” savaged the nascent movement during last night’s new episode.

—–

The story involved Cartman’s girth throwing off the school’s score in a standardized physical fitness test. The students swiftly rebel against Cartman, the one percenter who wrecked the results of the remaining 99 percent. Cartman becomes a target at school, and he rushes home to his mother for consolation.

“Don’t you get it, Mom? People voted for Obama, and now that everything sucks they have to blame me!” he wails.

In case the show’s message didn’t hit home there, the show’s writers flipped the race card on its ear moments later.

Cartman opts to hide out in the home of Token, one of the school’s few black students, for protection against the violent 99 percent mob.

“In today’s times, black people are somehow incapable of doing anything wrong,” Cartman says to explain why he chose Token’s house and not the homes of his school chums.

But Cartman wasn’t finished with South Park’s version of OWS quite yet.

“You wanna know why you’re protesting? It’s cuz you’re pissed off, but you actually think it’s wrong to be pissed off at a black President, so you’re pissed off at me,” he whines.

In between Cartman’s rants, “class warfare” breaks out between fourth and fifth graders, the media obsesses on two protestors as if they were a thousand and a slovenly Michael Moore makes a brief, unflattering appearance.

No episode of “South Park” is far away from a scatological gag, and last night’s story involved an “occupied” bathroom with a rather “big movement.”

Yuck.

It’s the price grown-ups pay for savoring the show’s politically incorrect humor most satirists won’t touch.

This week’s new installment of ‘South Park’ will deal with the Occupy Wall Street movement – indirectly, of course. The episode in question, airing at 10 p.m. EST Wednesday, finds the calorically challenged Cartman throwing off the school’s fitness curve.

“I know how this works. You’re the 99 percent ganging up on the one percent,” Cartman cries in a preview clip supplied by Comedy Central.

Weight warfare ensues, apparently.

—–

The episode, dubbed ‘1 %,’ marks the show’s first, full-on commentary on the fledgling political movement. The beauty of ‘South Park’ is how even-handed it can be in tackling tricky subjects that otherwise split audiences. So expect both sides of the OWS debate to take a licking during the 30-minute show.

Here’s the official episode description:

The kids at South Park Elementary are being punished for Cartman’s failings in the physical fitness department. What will Cartman do when they all gang up on him?

Perhaps the best example of how Parker and Stone ladle out the satire in equal measure came with their 2004 feature film ‘Team America: World Police.’ Will the duo do it again Wednesday?

IDRIS ELBA AS JAMES BOND?
Because I’m such a fan, I watched more episodes of Elba’s BBC series “Luther” than I normally would’ve. The problem is that I simply didn’t like his character.
IDRIS ELBA AS JAMES BOND?

Because I’m such a fan, I watched more episodes of Elba’s BBC series “Luther” than I normally would’ve. The problem is that I simply didn’t like his character. Luther’s just a little too preoccupied with himself and the subplot involving his relationship with a serial killer never rang true.

But Elba is an extraordinary talent, no question. His scenes as Stringer Bell in “The Wire” sizzled and I have no doubt he could transition his undeniable presence and charisma to the big screen. Furthermore, there’s a playfulness about him that would do the Bond franchise an enormous amount of good after what will be at least three VERY stoic Daniel Craig turns.

Just as “For Your Eyes Only” was a nice grounding of the franchise after the outlandish (but fun) space adventures of “Moonraker,” “Casino Royale” felt like a necessary reboot after the ice castle and invisible car-nonsense of “Die Another Day.” But after the awfulness that was “Quantum of Solace,” I’m ready for the series to get its sense of humor and charm back.

Elba could do that. The man has panache, depth, and a knowing sense of humor. Watching the shallow, race-obsessed Left celebrate the color of his skin would be nauseating (who cares that he’s black?), but it would be more than worth it.

Well, Thursday nights are usually Clear The Decks Cuz “Burn Notice” Is On Day, but my wonderful mother is coming to visit and that means getting the house ready. It also means a “Burn Notice” marathon in our future because good things come to those who wait.

Here’s an interesting story, though. This morning I woke up to the soft voice of my pretty wife: “Happy anniversary, sweetheart.” And as though I remembered, I calmly replied: “Uhm, happy anniversary to you.” Thankfully the wife then jumped in the shower allowing me to pull on some clothes, jump in the car, race to Walgreens, buy a card, and return … just in time to get caught coming in the door.

“You went out to buy a card, didn’t you?”

“Yes.”

“We’ve been so busy I forgot one for you too.”

See, I don’t have to watch TV, my life is like a sitcom — a really good sitcom.

Happy anniversary, wife. Love you like mad.

One of the reliable joys in entertainment during the Bush years was knowing that despite the relentless, insipid hate passed off as comedy about our President, every week South Park would serve up truly independent, politically incorrect satire which skewered actual sacred cows. When virtually all players in the film and TV industry were brown nosing Al Gore as though they were born without lungs, Trey Parker and Matt Stone mercilessly mocked him. When Hurrican Katrina was the cause du’jour for leftist hatemongers, fictional 4th graders Kyle and Stan called them out for exploiting the tragedy. And, even early on in the show, the hyperventilating, totalitarian dark side of the green movement and multicultural “tolerance” received scathing send ups.

L'homme s'accroche amèrement.

Yet since Obama’s election, their aim has tilted right. While they revisited the nonpartisan issue of censorship over fear of jihadist violence in their 200th episode, the only overtly political targets of the past two seasons have been Glenn Beck in “Dances with Smurfs” and the Tea Party in last week’s episode, “TMI.” In “Smurfs,” Cartman starts to do the school’s morning announcements, quickly transforming into a conspiratorial nut who accuses the school president of murdering the titular cartoon characters. Now, Glenn Beck’s TV show is certainly ripe for parody (not a fan myself), but the episode plays as though Parker & Stone have only seen second-hand accounts of the program (which they’ve admitted regarding other episodes’ source material), and the satire, because it’s only mocking a straw man version of Beck, lacks the bite of their previous work.

In the same way, on “TMI” (spoilers ahead), South Park rips on the Tea Party– which, again, could be a source of truly funny jokes, even mean-spirited ones– with recycled second-hand stereotypes. Cartman’s principal sends him to a counselor when he measures his and his classmates’ penis sizes. Eventually, the counselor recommends an anger management session, wherein a Tea Party member complains about “stupid-ass blind liberals” while wearing tea bags draped over a tri-corner hat. The counselor quickly surmises that all the anger management attendees act out because of insecurity over their penis sizes.

This first meeting isn’t actually that annoying yet, as the Tea Partier is just one of many mocked characters. However, when staple character Randy Marsh gets sent to anger management, he begins to parrot the Tea Party complaints about big government and socialism (which is uncharacteristic of Randy– historically, he’s been rather liberal) and starts a riot. In an attempt to stick it to the federal government, all the characters in the meeting attack Federal Express, American Apparel, and other private businesses that seem nominally connected to the feds. In a hostage situation, the Tea Party character pipes up that he demands to see “Obama’s real birth certificate.”

From that summary, one might assume that I didn’t find the episode funny, which is false. No matter what the setup is, when the punchline is Cartman or Randy flipping out, South Park remains one of the best comedies on television. “TMI” is an episode full of great gags and outrageous performances, but I can’t help but be disillusioned at how safe and politically correct the jokes about the Tea Party are. Since its inception, comedians have picked on the Tea Party with virtually identical insults. “Hey, look at those silly costumes!” “They’re angry white men sublimating their insecurities!” “Crazy birthers, every one of them!” There’s a word for comedians who just repackage other people’s jokes: hacks. And I have a hard time defending Matt and Trey when I think about whether that charge can apply to their Beck/Tea Party jokes.

I have no beef with South Park making fun of what I believe; “Goobacks” and “Christian Rock Hard” are two examples of standout episodes that mock Christians and anti-illegal immigration sentiments. They work far better than “TMI” and “Smurfs” because they send up the actual follies of those ideas; they don’t just rinse and repeat straw men representations of the satire’s subject. Also, they weren’t just piling on ridicule for a much-maligned object. Whereas South Park is best known for being politically incorrect and unabashedly skewering that which no one else dare touch with a ten-foot pole, attacking Beck and the Tea Party when everyone else is already doing just that places the show in the back of the herd. It takes courage to stick your neck out against someone powerful and popular, but it doesn’t to be the last guy in line kicking some kid on the ground. Hopefully, Parker & Stone will turn things around soon, because this could be the point where South Park loses its edge– and therefore its appeal.

On April 21, 2010, Comedy Central aired episode “201” of South Park. The previous episode, “200,” which was a celebration of their 200th episode, sparked controversy from a radical fringe Muslim group who threatened violence on the show’s creators because of their use of the character Muhammed. After seeing the season 14 DVD of South Park, the cowards at Comedy Central continue to bow to the wishes of radical Muslims, showing that our free speech can be silenced by violence or the threat of it. Following this path, which runs contradictory to almost anything Comedy Central has done in the past, willingly provides a disturbing upper hand to any groups wanting to limit free speech and the power of our popular culture.

When a new episode of South Park airs, it is generally available for streaming shortly thereafter from South Park Studios. In the case of “201,” we got this message:

Following this message, there was a long list of people upset that the network, who has courageously stood by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone over the years, decided to cower in the corner and bleep important sections of episode “201.” In fact, Muhammed was shown in a bear suit, an obvious play on the fear of showing Muhammed on TV. Even that was censored out (important note: Comedy Central has allowed South Park to show Muhammed in the past). As the dust settled, many people (including myself) felt that the truth would be told and free speech will prevail, on some level, when the episode comes out on the season 14 DVD.

Upon the release, I heard that the episode was still edited, which was a shameful move on Comedy Central’s part. Not surprised about that, I figured Matt and Trey would get to say a few things on the commentary track that would allow more of their voice to be heard. Unfortunately, this is not the case and the bulk of their commentary is also bleeped out with that same annoying tone that is spread throughout episode “201” (supposedly a speech about fear and intimidation that doesn’t mention Muhammed). The beginning of the episode on DVD says the following words.

In the 14 years we’ve been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn’t stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn’t some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle’s customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn’t mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too.

After reading that statement, I can just hear the obscenity-laced commentary from Matt and Trey, likely using more colorful terms than “coward” in reference to Comedy Central. The reason South Park has reached the status it has acquired is because of the show’s ability to mock anyone or any idea; the end result often being a smart, useful reflection on the topics lampooned. Matt and Trey have long appreciated Comedy Central’s willingness to stand behind their work. Today, however, it appears that Comedy Central has willingly given into the hyper-politically-correct elements in our society.

Over the last year, there has been more mumblings from Matt and Trey that they are getting tired of doing South Park. Their ability to stay on top of current events means they literally put a show together in under a week. This is no easy task and certainly not worth the sleepless work nights if your show is going to get butchered from the terrified suits above. With the ongoing culture war, a voice like South Park is essential and should be supported. Silencing such a voice and giving into intimidation only shows a severe weakness in our culture that will be exploited by those who want to crush it.

Several weeks ago, the Emmy nominations were announced and many media outlets celebrated some of the great new programs that were nominated. For instance, USA Today’s Robert Bianco wrote that, “After years of recycling nominees and ignoring new shows, the Emmy voters produced a list that actively celebrates the joy of TV discovery.” However, along with highlighting some new worthy programs and bringing attention to some solid performances, the Emmy nominations did include some disappointments and also featured a few controversial choices.

The Good: Two of the best things about this year’s nominations were Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, who were nominated for outstanding lead actor and outstanding lead actress in a drama series for their work on “Friday Night Lights.” These actors have been in their respective roles for four years but have never received the recognition they deserved for their strong performances. “FNL” was also recognized in several other categories with nominations for “Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series” and “Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.” That latter nomination was specifically for a heartbreaking episode about a former quarterback coming to grips with his father’s death in Iraq.

In addition to recognizing the strong talent of often neglected shows, the nominations also brought more attention to some critically-acclaimed new programs. I still haven’t watched ABC’s new comedy hit “Modern Family” but in its first season, the show has received numerous Emmy nominations to go along with the rave reviews it received when it premiered. In fact, out of the twelve nominations for outstanding supporting actor and outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series, “Modern Family” captured five of them in addition to other major nominations, including a best comedy nod. I am looking forward to checking this show out when it comes to DVD.

A couple of other freshman shows received some support from Emmy. “The Good Wife” received several high profile and well-deserved nominations, including a nod for outstanding drama series. The musical comedy “Glee” also received a lot of love, including a nomination for outstanding comedy series and a supporting actress nomination for Jane Lynch, who many predict will take home that award.

The Bad: I haven’t seen all of the programs nominated but I was disappointed that “24” received so few nominations in its final season. This season of “24” was clearly not its best but the show deserved some recognition for strong performers like Kiefer Sutherland. Even in its final season, the show had some great thrills this year and a strong series finale.

For all of my excitement over the “Friday Night Lights” nominations, I am disappointed that the show was not nominated for best drama. Also, like some other critics, I am disappointed that FNL’s Zach Gilford, who has been great on the show since it started, was not nominated. Gilford played the former quarterback accepting the death of his father in the “FNL” episode that was nominated for best writing.

Also, I was a little disappointed to see so many nominations for “You Don’t Know Jack,” a disappointing HBO film about Jack Kevorkian. “You Don’t Know Jack” received a whopping fifteen Emmy nominations. Although the movie did feature some solid performances, the movie failed to take an in-depth look at Jack Kevorkian and did not deserve so much attention.

The Controversial: This year, the Emmy nominations did create some interesting controversies. For one, David Letterman’s “Late Show” failed to earn an Emmy nomination for best variety show, but the man who attempted to blackmail Letterman garned one for an unrelated television project. Additionally, “The (short-lived) Tonight Show with Conan O’ Brien” received a nomination for outstanding variety, music or comedy series but “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” failed to garner one. (If O’Brien’s show wins, that acceptance speech will likely be one of the highlights of the evening).

However, the most controversial nomination should be the Emmy nomination for the politically incorrect South Park episodes that Comedy Central censored. As Washington Post columnist Lisa de Moraes wrote, the episodes that “merited consideration for Outstanding Animated Program… were censored because Comedy Central would not show what viewers were led to believe was an image of Muhammad disguised in a bear costume — but which in fact turned out to be St. Nicholas.” Moraes noted that “the show’s creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, publicly derided the versions of the censored episodes that were telecast, saying Comedy Central had wrecked them.” So the show is being celebrated even though Comedy Central was incapable of standing up for the show’s freedom of speech.

If the good, the bad and the controversial aspects of the Emmy nominations are not enough to make you want to tune in to the Emmy awards, there is an added competition that might make it worthwhile.

Betty White’s famous Snickers commercial will be going up against the charming Old Spice guy commercial in the outstanding commercial category.

If that’s not enough to make you want to tune in, I’m not sure what is.

Art is a tricky subject. Everyone’s a critic and some react a little more strongly than others. Just ask Molly Norris. Art critics in the Muslim world have put her on a hit list for some of her work.

Ms. Norris is a cartoonist who stood up for freedom of speech…for awhile. After the animated show “South Park” bowed to pressure and threats and removed a piece from a show showing the Prophet Muhammad in a bear suit, Ms. Norris started a movement called “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day.” The idea took off and groups both left and right got behind the idea of standing up for freedom of expression.

Radical Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki

Some liberal cowards like Atlanta Journal Constitution “political cartoonist” Mike Luckovich didn’t join in because they were already aware of the way Islamic critics give a bad review. As were the folks at one of my favorite shows “The Simpsons.” After the “South Park” incident they had Bart do his punishment on the chalk board by writing, “South Park – We’d stand beside you if we weren’t so scared.”

I’m not sure of Molly Norris’ political leanings but after her crusade for freedom took off, she backed away. She apologized to Muslims for offending them. She was honest as to why she was backing away when she drew a cartoon with herself saying, “I said that I wanted to counter fear and then I got afraid.”

Unfortunately for Ms. Norris, Islamic fundamentalists tend to hold grudges. Ask Theo Van Gogh, the recently deceased Dutch filmmaker or Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard who also has been repeatedly targeted by terrorists for drawing Muhammad. Last February, he was attacked by a man with an ax who, inspired by jihad, tried to kill him. Ask Salman Rushdie who probably still looks over his shoulder even though he has allegedly been removed from a fatwa as a condition of normalizing relations between Iran and Britain.

The art critic who Ms. Norris has aggravated is none other than that Fort Hood inspiring American born jihadist Anwar al-Awlaki. He has reportedly said her proper abode is hell. Ms. Norris’ website is down and it has been reported that the police are watching her house.

It’s no wonder that other “edgy” artists like Madonna, Lady Gaga and Sarah Silverman tend to pick on Christianity.

It’s a whole lot safer.

Our friends at Comedy Central have found their cojones again. Although if you’re mining for brass there, move along. This same network that so quickly retreated in the face of threats of bodily harm from a militant Islamic website regarding their South Park episode which depicted the prophet Muhammed in a bear suit, has somehow mustered the intestinal fortitude to go after that most fresh and elusive of targets. You guessed it, (*yawn*) Jesus Christ…again. The haute irreverent network is set to announce “JC,” a half-hour show about Christ wanting to escape the shadow of his “powerful but apathetic father” and live a regular life in, where else, New York City.

Apparently the free speech warriors discovered that their beloved First Amendment has an “on/off” switch. It reserves them the right to offend with obvious intent only those religions that profess such core tenets as “turn the other cheek” and “do unto others” when slighted. Of course, when the target of their rapier wit responds not with quiet resignation but rather the banshee wails of “Allahu Akbahr!” followed by exploding IEDs in their fruit of the looms—well the art warriors tune changes to free speech, schmee speech just don’t slit my throat bro! Wow, if only those God-fearing wimps at Normandy and Iwo could have mustered such courage of conviction!

Oh my…there are just so many places I can go with this story but to rehash the topic would demonstrate a lack of originality that only another trite lampooning of such a docile target as Jesus in the name of “art” could top. I suppose I could berate the absolute hypocrisy of those on the left who rail with such self-righteous piety against the imagined intolerance of others while demonstrating their very real, almost bizarrely manic, hostility towards Christianity. (Except of course when they are on one of their ”Jesus was a liberal” or “what would Jesus do” soap boxes to justify this or that expansion of the entitlement state on my dime. Then suddenly “JC” as the self-proclaimed hipsters call him is a handy God to have on their side, but that is another story.)

What I will not do is allow myself to be offended by, or even pay attention to, the new show after the last period is struck on this commentary. As one of those Christians myself (that pesky 80% plus of the US population) and, worse, a Roman Catholic (is there anything more evil in their eyes?) I have become inured to watching my beliefs lampooned by those who still delude themselves into thinking that attacking a target so docile such as my Lord who preached peace on earth and good will towards men still passes these days as even remotely “edgy.” Anyone who understands the evolution of modern culture realizes that at this point when you attack Christ under the guise of art or entertainment or just trying to make a splash what you are really admitting is that when it comes to creativity and ingenuity “er…I got nothin’”

Back to their actions vis-à-vis the “religion of peace.” What happened to the ole mantra of: “I disagree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it!” Where is the real manifestation of all that self-righteous liberal drivel that I was indoctrinated with in my years of academia? Is this what the so-called brave artistic community has become? A bunch of girly-men who will shriek and beg forgiveness from a rag-tag band of radical Muslims who view even the MO postal code for Missouri to be offensive and worthy of yet another interminable “jihad”?

And really guys. Is this how you get your mojo back after exposing your spinelessness? Yet another slight against a religion whose cardinal sin apparently seems to be that it will not slit your throat if you disagree? Anyway, by developing the “JC” project the writers at Comedy Central are demonstrating that they have about as much fresh material as the a History Channel exec. offering yet another documentary about Hitler. And in the process, they are revealing that deep down they are both bullies for picking on such a pacifist target, and cowards whose principles and willingness to stand up for the U.S. Constitution and freedom of expression end where their own necks begins.

Dhimmitude: an attitude of concession, surrender and appeasement towards Islamic demands.

South Park, equal opportunity satirists, have finally met their match.

No, not the Islamist barbarians who have issued an indirect fatwa against South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the unforgivable crime of satirizing the notion of Muhammed’s appearance.

The veiled threat posted on a jihadist website, is, I’m afraid, totally expected.

It is Hollywood itself that has betrayed Parker and Stone.

In the episode—I viewed the original before it was censored—Muhammed was shown inside a U-haul, inside a mascot’s uniform, and finally as a child’s stick figure drawing.

It was hilarious.

And deadly.

I knew immediately that Parker and Stone would be threatened with a fatwa.

Radical Islam is on the march, and unlike Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, etc. Islam demands that non-Muslims submit to their beliefs.

I was also not surprised when Comedy Central censored the episode. Every single reference to Mohammed was bleeped, like a dirty word.

The original episode cannot even be viewed on YouTube.

Islam means submission, and making Hollywood submit to a bunch of raving, murderous Islamic fanatics turns out to be easy as pie.

Look, the official position of the Obama administration is that the U.S. is fighting “terrorists in overseas contingency operations.” Not, mind you, Islamist terrorists who subscribe to Salafist Islam.

So why should Hollywood identify an enemy that Obama says does not exist?

Remember when you first heard about Arab Muslim suicide bombings?

They were directed against Jews in Israel.

You were horrified, right?

Or, maybe not.

In any case, there was no great outcry.

In fact, the left reliably defended these terrorist outrages, claiming that the poor oppressed Arabs had no choice against the powerful and evil Jooz.

Consequently, suicide/homicide bombings metastasized in every Muslim battleground across the earth. And now when the suicide bombers explode and body parts are scattered everywhere, what do you do?

Yawn.

The same with beheadings.

When Daniel Pearl was beheaded you shuddered. This is not possible, you said to yourself. What kind of barbarians commit such acts.

But at the same time you were assured by, ahem, moderate Muslims in America, that Islam is the religion of peace.

Peace means the absence of conflict, so when enough infidels—Jews, Christians, Buddhists, homosexuals, women who do not take the veil—are beheaded, well, there you go:

Welcome to the peaceful Islamist landscape.

And when the Afghan Taliban exploded the ancient Bamiyan Buddhist statues, again, you were horrified.

But the West did nothing.

After all, it’s their culture, and all cultures and religions are the same.

Never mind the horrific fate of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh.

Never mind the malignant Jew-hatred that fuels the genocidal Islamist world.

The liberal Hollywood elite—who bravely compared President Bush to Hitler—will submit.

In fact, a prominent Hollywood producer said to me: “Parker and Stone should have known better.”

Thus, the victims become the aggressors.

It’s like cutting off a man’s leg and blaming him for limping.

Producers will insist on alternative antagonists: Neo-Nazis, right wing militias, Evangelical Christians, Tea Party members, the Pope, multinational corporations, and oh yes, the frightening Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh.

Comedy Central should have run the episode.

And every American network and cable station should have broadcast this South Park at the very same time.

The American airwaves should have been plastered with this episode.

Such defiance is the only way to fight radical Islam.

But cowardice and appeasement have won the day.

Welcome to Dhimmi Hollywood.

Where the future bodes well for 7th century Islam.

But the future for Parker and Stone is grim.

Like the novelist Salman Rushdie, and the courageous freedom fighter Ayaan Hirsi Ali, both threatened via murderous fatwas, Parker and Stone will need to secure round the clock armed security guards.

I strongly recommend former Israeli commandos who provide such services.

Unlike President Obama, these men know the enemy well.
