Sarah Palin’s Pre-Presidential Power

by Michael Moriarty

Obama’s to be “pissed-off” and Mayor Bloomberg deliberately “pisses-off” Ronald Reagan’s silent majority by excluding first reponders and clergy from the 9/11 Memorial Ceremony?!

It’s beyond bizarre, it’s miraculously self-destructive on Bloomberg’s part!

Not even NEW YORK will endure such a heartlessly Godless, New World Order attitude for long.

Or will it?

Having lived in that “Progressively Progressive City” for forty years, I’ve seen the Isle of Manhattan fall from its common sense genius to the knee-jerk insanity of ideologues.

Is this an Obama/Bloomberg full court press on the Non-Marxist Majority of America? A deliberately provocative, very Leninist decision that has been lofted over New York in order to “test the waters”?

What is this fraudulently “Independent” Mayor of State Capitalism and the very home of Wall Street thinking?

Have orders finally come down on Bloomberg from the Top Offices of The New World Order?

“It’s time to ‘get tough’ or, as Morgan Freeman demands, get ‘pissed off’ with the infantile sentimentalists of America!!”

Or have they become that nervous as a result of Sarah Palin’s possible entry into the Republican race?

She is making The New World Order Establishment profoundly nervous.

Hysterical actually.

‘Lopez Tonight’ Canceled: Thursday Is Last Show

by Hollywoodland

George Lopez, the left-wing comedian who recently made headlines after threatening to move to Canada should Governor Sarah Palin become president (and once called her a “bitch” on his now-canceled “Lopez Tonight”), is now just another unemployed statistic in his precious Obama’s failed economic “recovery.”

The Wrap:

TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of Lopez Tonight,” the company said in a statement. “Thursday will be the final episode of the show. We are proud to have partnered with George Lopez, who is an immensely talented comedian and entertainer. TBS has valued its partnership with George and appreciates all of his work on behalf of the network, both on and off the air.”

Ivy League Advice for President Sarah Palin

by Michael Moriarty

Well, I certainly learned that there aren’t many opera fans among the Big Hollywood readership.

The political intent of an opera that romanticizes Chou en Lai of Red China confirms the surrender of all American Arts to Marxism.

From Hollywood to “The Met,” from sheer entertainment to the pastimes of the privileged, the Elite of the Ivy League find themselves in the driver’s seat.

Whoever has gotten to the White House

In the last twenty years

Has  either an Ivy League diploma

Or a Rhodes Scholarship.

These enlightened despots,

As Voltaire might call them,

Have dragged America into slavish indebtedness to Red China.

According to “The Progressives” in both political parties, Sarah Palin needn’t apply for The Presidency.

Why Not?

She is blatantly and unforgivably not among “The Chosen”! (more…)

I’ll Drive Him: George Lopez Says He’ll Move to Canada If Palin Wins

by AWR Hawkins

Hollywood elitists come in all shapes and sizes. Some are black, some are white, and some are colors in between. Most of the time, they aren’t very learned but they want to appear so (cases in point – Cher, George Clooney, Alec Baldwin, and Julia Roberts). They are quick to criticize Republicans – especially Bush – and blind to the fact that liberal Democrats have run every state and city they’ve controlled into the ground (cases in point – California and Detroit).

Recently, on Piers Morgan’s show, comedian George Lopez said that if Sarah Palin wins the Presidency he’s going to move to Canada (I immediately made a donation to Palin’s PAC).

Lopez said his elitist attitude views on Palin were due to the fact that he likes his “politicians to actually have a political background.” What a crock. This guy campaigned for Obama in Detroit in 2008, yet the majority of Obama’s political background consisted in community organizing under the auspices of a Weatherman terrorist named William Ayers.

But that’s all common knowledge.

Anyway, back to Lopez’s claim that he likes his “politicians to actually have a political background.” Does he not know that Palin was Governor of Alaska?

I’m being serious folks, this is embarrassing.

Undefeated Coming to Video on Demand, Pay-Per-View, ‘Special Edition’ DVD

by Hollywoodland

Santa Monica, Calif. – ARC Entertainment, the distributor of “The Undefeated,” the film about Gov. Sarah Palin’s rise from obscurity to national prominence, announced today that beginning on September 1st the film will be available to 75 million homes via Video on Demand and Pay-Per-View access through national and regional cable and satellite operators. The DVD will launch on October 4th and will be available at traditional and online retailers nationwide. ARC is estimating its initial unit shipment to be approximately 250,000 units. A “Special Edition” DVD will contain additional new content and will only be sold in Walmart stores. ARC will continue to expand the limited engagement theatrical release nationwide throughout August and September as demand across the country remains high.

Trevor Drinkwater, CEO of ARC Entertainment, said, “Since the film opened in select markets across the country on July 15th we have been inundated with requests from people wanting the film to be made available in their market. After methodically analyzing the most effective ways to bring this galvanizing film to the widest audience as soon as possible we have determined that continued limited theatrical distribution, Video-on-Demand, Pay-Per-View and DVD sales will be the best modalities by which to deliver this film as widely as possible. We have created partnerships with national cable, satellite and mass retailers to achieve our distribution goals.”

“This title is absolutely perfect for Video-on-Demand and Pay-Per-View backed by a traditional and significant marketing campaign. We are incredibly excited about having this film made available to the entire country earlier than expected,” said Glenn Bracken Evans, the film’s producer. “A traditional windowed release would not have allowed us to maximize viewership of this highly sought after film,” continued Evans. Down Syndrome Advocates Silent on Maher Trashing Trig Palin

by Christian Toto

A national group sworn to advocate on behalf of people with Down syndrome won’t say a peep about Bill Maher blasting Sarah Palin’s children, including Trig Palin, as “inbred weirdos straight out of ‘The Hills Have Eyes.’”

Has Palin Derangement syndrome trumped common decency?

It’s hard to imagine another explanation why groups dedicated to the dignity of people with Down syndrome have been so silent about Maher’s broadside, unleashed during a recent “Real Time with Bill Maher” telecast on HBO.

“And when I point out that Sarah Palin is a vainglorious braggart, a liar, a whiner, a professional victim, a scold, a know-it-all, a chiseler, a bully who sells patriotism like a pimp, and the leader of a strange family of inbred weirdos straight out of ‘The Hills Have Eyes,’ that’s not sexist. I’m saying it because it’s true, not because it’s true of a woman.”

For non-horror fans, “The Hills Have Eyes” involves an inbred family feasting on the flesh of innocent travelers.

The New York-based National Down Syndrome Society “does not have a comment on this clip at this time,” says Jordana Stern, the group’s Communications Associate.

Perhaps the NDSS mission statement, which reads, “to be the national advocate for the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome,” is suspended when the attack is launched against Palin’s brood.

This reporter reached out to multiple people in the Down syndrome community for comment on Maher‘s vicious commentary with similar results.

NewsBusters Shreds ‘Entertainment Weekly’s’ Dishonest ‘Undefeated’ Hypocrisy

by Hollywoodland

Entertainment Weekly is just another dishonest media outlet disguised as non-partisan and objective, and like too many of their counterparts in the entertainment media, that disguise is their weapon of choice as they propagandize to young readers and kiss Hollywood ass in exchange for the access necessary to keep those lame exclusives coming that only read well in a restroom.

Aubrey Vaughan at NewsBusters busts their biased, partisan double standards red-handed here:

The conservative documentary, which successfully opened last weekend in limited release, was given a snarky review under the headline “Sarah Palin’s ‘The Undefeated’: We saw it so you don’t have to!“.

While ‘The Undefeated’ is admittedly told from a conservative viewpoint, the criticism of it, compared to the warm reception of Moore and Gore’s liberally biased films, is remarkable.

In the ‘Undefeated’ review, Young acknowledges that the director has every right to make it a pro-Palin film, but mocks the quality of the film for that same reason. Palin, whom Young describes as someone “who positions herself as so outside the political system that she can host a reality-television show and somehow get away with it,” had no affiliation with the production of the film, but Young still manages to frequently insult her and the director. …

In contrast, never do the ‘Fahrenheit 9/11′ or ‘Inconvenient Truth’ reviews acknowledge any one-sidedness or disagreements with the films’ content.

Young also complains of a number of biases in the film he sees as conveniently aiding Palin’s case, including glazing over the 2008 presidential campaign, painting her resignation as a result of the distracting bombardment of ethics investigations (ignoring possible financial motivations to move to TLC and Fox News), and only including commentary from “conservative bigwigs like Mark Levin and Andrew Breitbart” who are just “voices to the choir.”

Instead, the ‘Fahrenheit 9/11′ review lauded Moore for his Bush-bashing, leaving no room to explain any factual inaccuracies or the possibility of differing viewpoints.

Numbers Don’t Lie: “The Undefeated” Had a Remarkable Box Office Debut

by John Nolte

Box Office Mojo is a universally accepted and respected source for box-office numbers, mainly because they’ve always done a very professional job of sticking to numbers and avoiding the business and political nonsense that tarnishes so many others. As of today, they’re reporting that at 10 locations, “The Undefeated” grossed $65,132, or $6513 per screen during its opening weekend. We also know that at some locations, director Steve Bannon’s documentary sold out completely and garnered as much as $10,000 per screen. But for argument’s sake, let’s use Box Office Mojo and take a sober look at how well the Palin documentary did in the best kind of apples-to-apples comparison available — and that’s in the genre of political documentaries and the number of screens it opened on.

Fair enough?

You with me so far?

As you can see in the Box Office Mojo the chart below (original here), which looks at historical theatrical opening weekend numbers of political documentaries going back 20 years, ”The Undefeated” did remarkably well in the only categories that matter:

Compared to every other political documentary ever made…

1. “The Undefeated” ranks as #15 in the all-time highest grossing debut category (and this includes Michael Moore’s unique hold on this category). However — and this is a mighty important however – nine of the films ranked above the Palin doc opened on more screens — in some cases, hundreds more.

Conor Friedersdorf: The Colonel Klink of the Blogosphere Responds to Breitbart and The Bigs

by John Nolte

Man alive, when you require 2700 words to explain your way out of 900, maybe it’s best to just …. stay down.

Early on, even before Big Government opened, when Big Hollywood was still in its infancy, I was introduced to Conor Friedersdorf through an email he sent to Andrew Breitbart asking him for an editorial job. Without comment, Andrew forwarded Conor’s email and since I was still green, I didn’t really know what to make of someone who felt that he should be installed in a position where he would ensure the political arguments made by our contributors were intellectually sound (that was the crux of his inquiry — really). Did Andrew agree with him? Had he forwarded the email to make some sort of point?

Brei-i-i-i-itbaaaart!!!

But the more of Conor’s inquiry I read, the wider the smile reached across my face. It was obvious the  author was a young, arrogant, self-serious clown who thought he was pretty special but was really only blessed with the necessary lack of self-awareness required to allow him to keep on keeping on without ever noticing that the whole wide world was laughing at him — especially his liberal friends who only kept him around because he was useful. Just as Colonel Klink on “Hogan’s Heroes” was never aware he was being used by Colonel Hogan — that he was a walking joke respected by no one and only flattered when it was necessary to get him to help the other side – so too is Conor Friedersdorf.

If you read the opening paragraphs of Conor’s reactionary and defensive response to us (and Breitbart specifically — who Conor is somewhat obsessed with), this is how he presents his conservative bonifides:

I’ve shown that the DEA callously prevents sick people from getting useful therapy, highlighted work done by the Institute for Justice to advance economic freedom, called out the TSA for its harassment of air travelers, noted that kidney patients are dying needlessly, urged on efforts to rein in excessive public employee pensions in California, called for a repeal of the light-bulb law, highlighted Orwellian threats to privacy, and complained that federal prosecutors misallocate resources.

I’ve profiled Gary Johnson, formulated 11 questions all presidential candidates should be asked to test their civil liberties bonifides, urged the tea party movement to embrace Mitch Daniels, warned against the inexperience of Michele Bachmann, and even curated nearly 100 fantastic pieces of journalism!

‘Eunuchs’: Did Anyone Notice Bill Maher Trashing Sarah Palin’s Children as ‘Family of Inbred Weirdos’?

by John Nolte

From everything I’ve read, the only factor remaining in Governor Palin’s decision-making process about a 2012 presidential run is the impact the campaign would have on her family — which is why I think Bill Maher went here [emphasis mine]:

Now, I’m not saying that sexism doesn’t exist and isn’t real. And we can’t, but we can’t throw around the word “sexist” just to stop people like me from pointing out that Michele Bachmann, now running second for the Republican presidential nomination, isn’t a dangerous nincompoop. And when I point out that Sarah Palin is a vainglorious braggart, a liar, a whiner, a professional victim, a scold, a know-it-all, a chiseler, a bully who sells patriotism like a pimp, and the leader of a strange family of inbred weirdos straight out of “The Hills Have Eyes,” that’s not sexist. I’m saying it because it’s true, not because it’s true of a woman.

Really, Bill, this is “true?” Who has it in them to look at this photo of Tripp and Trig Palin, two beautiful and perfect children, and make jokes about “inbred weirdos?”

There was a lot of news, outrage and commotion over the weekend over Maher and his panelists ripping Michele Bachman’s husband, the appalling hate f**k comment directed at her, and Maher’s defensiveness when it comes to being called sexist. But from everything I’ve seen — including most of the paragraph quoted above aimed at Governor Palin herself — all of those comments were directed at adults perfectly capable of defending themselves. No one will argue that any and all of those comments were in poor taste, even for a HBO program proud of such things, but the real line that was crossed Friday night was Maher’s astonishingly obscene attack on Sarah Palin’s family — which obviously includes her children.

Palin Doc Director Bannon: With Almost No Marketing Dollars We Hit ‘a Home Run’

by Hollywoodland

‘The Undefeated” is set for release into more cities next week.

L.A. Times:

Directed and written by Stephen K. Bannon, the film opened this weekend in AMC Theatres in 10 selected digital markets — the closest to Los Angeles being the city of Orange in Orange County — going up against the opening of perhaps the biggest film of the summer, the final installment in the “Harry Potter” series.

According to a release Sunday from distributor ARC Entertainment, which partnered with digital distributor Cinedigm, the film grossed approximately $5,000 per screen through Saturday night, with “large markets trending towards weekend per screen averages above $10,000.”

That’s quite modest by Hollywood standards, but the rollout was booked quickly over three weeks, with marketing carried out through word-of-mouth and low-cost social media.

The release quotes Jill Newhouse Calcaterra, the chief marketing officer for Cinedigm, saying, ” ‘The Undefeated’ is the perfect example of how digital cinema can benefit both producers and audiences. Starting with theater location selection, we worked quickly — with precision accuracy — to generate a terrific box-office result with virtually no marketing dollars.

“This is a new model that is going to benefit the entire entertainment industry and audiences who want to see unique products.”

[LA Times]: How do the opening-weekend figures stack up against your expectations (or hopes)?

[Steve] Bannon: This was a high-risk strategy — one I don’t remember ever being attempted — to open a documentary nationwide in such disparate markets with only 4 weeks prep with no media spend. And it paid off. Why — we had distribution partners at ARC and Cinedigm that knew what they were doing and a theater chain that knows how to handle specialty film.

Fox Nation: ‘Palin Film Selling Out in Theaters’

by Hollywoodland

A small town of 46,000 selling out a theatre is a mighty impressive thing. Natrually, the corrupt MSM prefers to focus on a single screening … at midnight … on a work night … that probably wasn’t even advertised.

Fox Nation:

It may not be “Harry Potter,” but another film featuring a bespectacled protagonist is racking up strong pre-sales before its national roll-out this weekend.

“The Undefeated,” a glowing look at failed vice-presidential candidate and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has already sold out a show in Grapevine, Texas (population 46,000), according to the distributor Cinedigm.

Grapevine isn’t exactly a teeming metropolis but the film is set to roll out across Tea Party country in 10 AMC theaters.

‘The Undefeated’: The Atlantic’s Phony ‘Empty Theatre’ Meme Falls Further Apart

by Larry O'Connor

As John Nolte pointed out yesterday, Connor [sic?] Friedersdorf, Atlantic’s resident conservative who spends most of his time trashing conservatives, set out to investigate how audiences are responding to the new Sarah Palin documentary “The Undefeated”. Curiously, he chose to go to a midnight showing in Orange County, CA at the precise moment of the long-anticipated premiere of the final “Harry Potter” film.

I planned on doing the same thing. I planned on going to the movie theatre in Orange, CA (AMC 30 at The Block) and report back to the Big Hollywood readers how Palin was being accepted in the county that Ronald Reagan described as “where good Republicans go to die.” Now Coner [sic?] is a real journalist, as he often reminds us. And I’m just a Breitbart blogger, so what do I know, but it seemed to me that the best time to go check out the audience reaction was during the DAY of the release, not at the midnight showing last night.

The Atlantic’s Conor Frieders-whatever demands girls talk to him at midnight

Connner [sic?], being the brilliant and reliable “capital- J journalist” that he is, reported to the intellectual readers of the Atlantic that he was the only person in the theatre at midnight last night – along with two young girls that he creepily interviewed for his column (hey there, I’m a JOURNALIST, want to tell me your name and what brings you here to this dark theatre after midnight?). He also claims that the manager wouldn’t tell him how many tickets had been sold for the film.

Funny, the manager I spoke with the next day had no problem telling me (more on that later). Maybe the guy Connnor [sic?] talked to was creeped out about the guy who was still lingering in the cinema after 2:00 AM after seeing a movie about Sarah Palin and after scaring two teenagers out of the place. (That’s just conjecture, I have no proof that Coonor’s [sic?] odd inquisition of the teenagers is what led them to leave the movie early, but it’s strange that it didn’t occur to him that a guy sitting all alone in a movie theatre after midnight showing a movie about Sarah Palin might not be the first person two teenage girls from out of town would want to talk to, and maybe THAT’s why they left early and didn’t want to hang out with him).

I can tell you that at 10:45 this morning, the theatre was about 1/3 full and the audience sat riveted. I stood on the side and watched the audience more than I watched the film. They skewed a but older, I’d say 47-ish was the average age. But remember that this was at 10:45 in the morning on a work day. Most good conservatives are working at that time and aren’t able to go catch a flick. Not one of them looked at their watch. Not one left to use the restroom. The only movement was of people turning to their friend or spouse in reaction to the action on the screen.

Empty Theatre!!!: MSM Currently Brewing Up Phony ‘Undefeated’ Narrative

by John Nolte

With the roaring success ”The Undefeated” has already had at changing the conversation about Sarah Palin from tanning beds and crosshair maps to, you know, her actual record as a public servant, the Left and their dishonest allies in the MSM are obviously as worried as they are desperate. As a result, this morning at ”The Atlantic” we’re greeted with a 950+ word article filled with precious NPR-esque prose and the delicate pose of a journalist just reporting the difficult truth, all under the following headline:

Sarah Palin Movie Debuts to Empty Theater in Orange County

We’re then told:

It isn’t strictly accurate to say that I sat through the whole movie alone. Just as the previews started, two young women walked in giggling together and took seats three rows behind me. Afraid that they’d ruined the only story I had at that point — What If Sarah Palin Starred in a Movie and No One Showed Up? — I hoped they’d at least oblige me with an interview, and so they did.

From there, the corrupt MSM has been gleefully off and running and amplifying the glorious news:

The hard-left film site Movie Line:

Bristol Palin Meets Jay Leno (and Don Rickles!)

by John Nolte

——

Don Rickles is hilarious in this clip being … Don Rickles. If you haven’t seen 2007’s “Mr. Warmth,” a terrific documentary directed by John Landis that looks at the last comedian still allowed to stick his finger directly in the eye of political correctness, it’s currently streaming on Netflix. May the 85 year-old live to be a 110.

Something I noticed during her interview with Sean Hannity a few weeks back is that even though she’s only been on the national scene for a few years, we’ve really had the opportunity to watch Bristol Palin grow into a lovely and poised young woman. The wicked Left personally targeting her with their wicked Alinsky tactics (and domestic terrorism) during her season on “Dancing With the Stars” has obviously backfired in a major way. Like her mother, Bristol has only come out stronger — with a new book and a reality show that will focus on her work at a small charity.

While the desperate Left tries to label as hypocrisy”  the act of learning from your mistakes, Bristol just keep on keeping on. And that she’s chosen to bring her values into a venue where it is most needed — the world of pop culture — is especially gratifying.

‘The Undefeated’ Review: A Profoundly Important Game-changer (Especially For Me)

by Ben Howe

Ed. Note: “The Undefeated begins its theatrical run today. You can find theatres and purchase tickets here (I also urge you to bookmark the indispensable site, Conservatives for Palin).  An interview with writer/director Steve Bannon can be heard at the end of this review. — JN

It’s been almost three years since I, along with many others, was introduced to Governor Sarah Palin. In that time we have been saturated with coverage of her and just about everybody on the left and the right, has had the opportunity to get to know who she is and what they think of her.

—–

At least that’s what I thought.

Admittedly, it took me some time to actually post this review of the recently released film “The Undefeated” about Sarah Palin’s meteoric rise to fame. It took time because, for numerous reasons, Sarah Palin is an emotional topic for a lot of people.

She seems to be one of those national figures that you either love with adoring affection, or hate with an uncontrollable rage. Rarely have I met someone who simply doesn’t have an opinion of her. Many pretend to, but most you can see through. At least I can. I can see through it because my opinion of her was much more specific than I ever liked to admit.

Certainly I believed that the media had been incredibly unkind to her. I believed that her stepping down as Governor was more the loss of an intense battle than simply the “giving up to go get rich” that others had labeled it. But in truth, I didn’t too much care for her, in spite of my public facade of being mostly opinion free.’

IndieWire Writer Finds Appearance of Black Conservative in Palin Doc ‘Shocking’

by John Nolte

***UPDATE: Sonnie Johnson received an email apology from Kaufman. Unimpressed, she responds.

In the Wall Street Journal, film writer Anthony Kaufman did a fairly straight-forward interview with “The Undefeated” writer/director Steve Bannon. Fine. Good. Proper. Afterwards, though, Kaufman then took to his usual perch at indieWIRE to let his true feelings be known. Mostly, his indieWIRE piece reflects the usual nonsense-complaints coming from the Left over why a documentary specifically produced to tell the story of Governor Palin the MSM refused to tell doesn’t rehash everything the MSM has already rehashed ad nauseum for the last three years.

Blah-blah-blah. Whine-whine-whine. Boo-hoo-hoo. Heaven forbid the public learns the full truth and context about a potential presidential candidate minus everything they’ve already had tattooed on their brain. Then, however, Kaufman gets to this unbelievably offensive and revealing sentence:

For me, the most shocking moment in “The Undefeated,” however, comes with the appearance of a black person about two-thirds of the way through.

No matter how many times I read this (and there’s more), I’m left almost speechless.

Almost.

This “black person” Kaufman references does have a name … and it’s Sonnie Johnson. She’s a person, not a symbol, and she has a mind of her own.  A very good mind.

Before I let Ms. Johnson speak for herself, I’m going to go ahead and call Anthony Kaufman an elitist bigot. You see, the reason the arrival of a black face likely shocked him is probably due to the fact that he’s never bothered to attend a real Tea Party … or maybe Kaufman simply can’t bring himself to recognize Thomas Sowell, Condi Rice, Clarence Thomas, Lloyd Marcus, Sonja Schmidt, Herman Cain, JC Watts, Alan Keyes, Michael Steele, Frances Rice, Jennifer Carroll, Allen West, Martin Luther King, Jackie Robinson, Tim Scott (need I go on…?) as “real black people” due to their awful, sell-out, Uncle Tomming Republican-ness.

‘MILF’: How the MSM Uses Popular Culture To Do Their Dirty Work

by John Nolte

Piers Morgan is a CNN primetime host, a valued position at a cable news network that likes to present itself as down-the-middle, objective, centrist, and fair … everything it says their competition is not. But if you watch the clip below, you have to ask yourself why a supposedly objective news outlet would host a comedian famous for being vulgar and openly hostile towards conservative women.

And it gets worse…

—–

For those of you who live the clean life, a “MILF” is a “Mother I’d Like to F—.” Now, you can’t blame Bill Maher for being Bill Maher. In fact, it’s this kind of rabid soundbite that makes him a regular guest on these kinds of shows. But why is he a guest?

Well, if you notice, when Maher refers to Governor Palin and Congresswoman Bachmann as MILFs, Morgan audibly chuckles.

That explains a lot.

Using Bill Maher and Jon Stewart and David Letterman and Tina Fey and other left-wing showbiz types is all part of the MSM’s overall gameplan to personally destroy conservatives. Phase one is elevating left-wing celebrities as serious commentariats by having them on as guests or presenting clips of their work or employing them as permanent hosts of “The View.” Phase two is for the MSM to use their commentary/comedy as a way to practice the politics of personal destruction. Case in point: Maher’s demeaning and diminishing of Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann — two serious, accomplished, and savvy leaders — into sexual objects. This is nothing more than a different play from the same playbook that found the MSM using Tina Fey’s Palin impersonation over and over and over again until it stuck in the minds of some voters. “Saturday Night Live” has less than 10 million viewers a week. But thanks to the mainstream media’s obsession with destroying Palin, EVERYONE saw Fey’s impersonation.

This is no accident.

Trailer Talk: Is ‘Iron Lady’ a Hit Job on Conservative Women?

by Alexander Marlow

Below is the recently released teaser-trailer for the Margaret Thatcher biopic, “The Iron Lady.”  The Weinstein Co’s film comes out in January 2012 and has Oscar-bait written all over it.

We don’t see Meryl Streep (as Thatcher) for over half of this minute-long clip, but when we do, we learn that Streep’s Thatcher will be funny and good-natured but capable of having the upper hand in a confrontation with men who are trying to coach (manipulate?) her.  Based on this teaser, we can assume Streep will be portraying the former U.K. Prime Minister as an amiable leader, but potentially an intellectual light-weight.

Streep does a bit of her signature over-acting here, even employing the canine head tilt that reminds me of Michael Myers in “Halloween,” but she certainly looks the part.

Nonetheless, the trailer is intriguing.  Now if only the fact that the script smells like a hit job didn’t ruin it.

The write-up from YouTube got me thinkin’…

The Iron Lady: Tells the story of a woman who smashed through the barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male-dominated world. The story concerns power and the price that is paid for power, and is a surprising and insightful portrait of an extraordinary and complex woman.

Can you think of an American politician who might one day fit this description...? Can you…? (more…)
