So while Copenhagen airport expects up to 140 extra private jets during the Climate Change summit, everyone else in the eye of the global warming storm is circling their solar-powered wagons.

Predictably, New York Times says those Climategate emails reveal nothing more than the pettiness of a few scientists – and in no way undermines global warming science. Meanwhile, The Environmental Protection Agency has announced that greenhouse gases are endangering people’s health, making way for the Obama administration to enact regulation without congressional action. And no surprise, both Robert Gibbs and the chair of the IPCC dismissed the Climategate scandal as no big deal.

Oh look – Here’s some tape of all delegates arriving.

Oh, how the planet weeps!

But sadly, what were seeing now with Climategate is not an anomaly, as the Times wants you to believe, but the opposite of an anomaly (a promonaly, if you will). Fact is, those emails were all about suppression- and suppression has been the bedrock of global warming science since day one.

So, let’s start with the basics: greenhouse gases. CO2 is one of them, and activists like to tell us than man-made driven CO2 is what’s causing global warming. However, of all the CO2 entering our atmosphere every year, only 3 percent or so comes from evil humans. The rest comes from Satan’s triad: oceans, animals and plant life. Why does no one beyond “Scared to Death” authors Christopher Booker and Richard North point this out? Well, you can’t say that humanity is destroying the planet, once you realize man’s impact is negligible.

Big Green also likes to talk about consensus. Well let’s talk about consensus – like the Gallup poll of climate scientists showing that nearly 50 percent had rejected man-caused global warming. Or how about the first assessment report from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change? They even suggested that the temperature changes of the last century could all be due to “natural variation.” However, according to Booker and North, the summarizers ignored the report’s uncertainty, and instead predicted substantial warming. And look up the infamous Hockey Stick graph – which eliminated real global warming from ages ago, in order to make it look like the climate’s getting way hotter now. That’s how you get consensus: through suppression.

And then there’s Al Gore. When one of his beloved professors published a paper saying global warming science was uncertain, Gore made the man’s sanity an issue. He also tried to pressure Ted Koppel into linking political and economic forces to anti-global warming factions. And of course, there’s his movie, which exaggerated faulty data until it became utterly laughable.

Just like his poetry. Take a look. It’s from his new book, “Our Choice.”

One thin September soon
A floating continent disappears
In midnight sun
Vapors rise as
Fever settles on an acid sea

Vanity Fair calls that “equal parts beautiful, evocative and disturbing.”

I call it equal parts barf, barf and barf.

And now the EPA declares global warming a health issue – the last refuge of a scare-mongering scoundrel. If you can’t get the world to pay up by showing them pictures of drowning polar bears – tell them your kids will die through vector-borne diseases. It’s all crap, but it’s dangerous crap – designed to turn sloppy science into a deadly, hysteric scare.

But what’s the biggest fraud of all? It’s the marginalization of anyone who stands in the way of Big Globe. Never before has a defense of science been so mocked and ridiculed – all in the name of science. Even if you don’t question the hypothesis, but question the methods, you’re a heretic. If you even don’t question the methods, but question the policy, you’re a monster. And even if you don’t question the policy, but question the hysteria, you’re a murderer.

The fact is, for the media and our administration – global warming ideology is too big to fail, because that failure is their failure. You kill global warming, you kill their god – and if you do that – then where in the world will they be?

Rediscovering global cooling, probably.

[NOTE: Thanks to Felix Dennis, who sent me the book "Scared to Death, by Christopher Booker and Richard North, which i devoured this weekend, and pulled from it the older examples of suppression I mentioned above. Everyone should get this book! And a scarf (it's friggen cold out there today).]

“Shortly after Jon Voight addressed health care protesters on Capitol Hill last week, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs dismissed the event by saying rather glibly, ‘I’m sure there’s a Jon Voight joke in here somewhere, given he was one of the featured speakers.’

“Over the weekend, when a clip of Voight was played on ‘The Week with George Stephanopoulos,’ where the actor asked of Obama, ‘Could it be he has had 20 years of subconscious programming by Reverend Wright to damn America?’ Cokie Roberts called it a ‘cringemaking’ moment. …

“When I asked about the criticism of his speech, Voight said, ‘Listen, there’s no telling what people will say.’

“What concerned him, he says, was the notion that the protesters on Capitol Hill were being dismissed by some lawmakers. ‘It is unfortunate that people will not take seriously the response of informed citizens.’

“Of his own remarks, he said, ‘They are not taking me on in any substantive way. They are not taking on the issues I am raising. They are simply making slurs and joke or and saying I am crazy.

“‘I don’t have a lot of respect for that stuff. They want to dismiss me, just like they want to dismiss the Tea Party people.’”

It was so much fun watching the ACORN people try and spin their way out of oblivion for the last couple of weeks. After the first video was posted on Big Government.com they, of course, claimed it was an isolated incident and that the filmmakers were kicked out of numerous other ACORN offices. When that proved to be false, they tried in vain to claim that the videos were faked and that their employees were the victims of CGI or something and not of their own stupidity and corruption. When that didn’t work they claimed that the filmmakers, Andrew Breitbart and the entire Fox News network were racist. Yawn.

NEA’s Yosi Sergant

Monday, we have the NEA under the microscope. The Obama Administration was caught red-handed (is that “racist”?) funneling tax payer dollars into an official propaganda department. I can’t wait to see what the excuse will be this time.

These people have mastered the art of defending the indefensible.

Let’s set aside the stupidity of this move. Anyone familiar with the NEA knows that it pretty much exists to fund leftist propaganda disguised as art. Officially coordinating it is a bit redundant.

Let’s also set aside the brazen arrogance. Despite rejecting and dismissing charges that this administration is attempting to turn the United States into a South American Banana Republic, these folks keep doing things that make Hugo Chavez envious. State run propaganda through the NEA, silencing critics with the stigma of “racism,” setting up official channels to rat out your neighbors for “thought crimes” with flag@whitehouse.gov, and restructuring our economy with wealth redistribution schemes like socialized medicine and cap and trade are just a few of their moves right from the Trotsky play book. And they do it all with righteous indignation. They claim that we students of history are too ignorant, too blinded by our prejudices, to really see what’s going on.

No, let’s focus on the inevitable excuses that will flow from the mouths of the White House spin doctors and the true believers that make up the mainstream media. If I, from the outside, can predict their next moves, it’s pretty obvious that their excuses aren’t genuine.

They are just another act in this grand play of leftist tomfoolery.

Phase one will be complete silence. The story won’t be picked up by the state run media. Crickets. Crickets. After about a week of red faced Glenn Beck monologues, daily Rush Limbaugh pontifications (thanks, by the way, for the shout-out last week El Rushbo, the family was very impressed), Sarah Palin facebook posts, and Andrew Breitbart expertly rolling out more information, they will be forced to respond.

Phase two will be what I like to call “The Oz Effect.” Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. What’s the big deal, after all? The President, through the positively Grima Wormtongue-like Robert Gibbs, will “not really be aware of it.” There are bigger issues after all. Americans are concerned about the greedy insurance companies and the doctors trying to amputate their feet for some extra scratch, not about what happens at the NEA. David Shuster, the poor man’s Keith Olbermann, will point out that the people involved have already been reassigned. Isn’t this just another Republican shot in the dark? Don’t these people have any real ideas? Aren’t the conservatives in disarray? Who is their leader anyway?

Phase three will be the “offense-defense.” David Frum will talk about the risks that conservatives run by offending artists. Going after the NEA will just prove that we don’t like creative things. CNN will air segments featuring inner-city kids finger painting, explaining that the NEA’s $50 million cut of the stimulus money paid for those paints. You don’t want to take away finger paints. do you? Evil conservatives. The President will tout the importance of the arts in our community, the hope and joy it brings to so many. Sure, there were some bad apples, but they were just cowboys acting without official orders. We need the NEA. Just like we need ACORN, socialized medicine, and cap and trade.

Phase four will be justice. Riding high on the conservative smack down, bills will come forward in the House and Senate to freeze the NEA’s budget or defund it all together. A few lone whack jobs will vote against it, but it will pass with a fat majority.

Breitbart and company can claim another scalp. And to quote Aldo Raine, “I want my scalps!”

At no point will any member of the administration step forward and admit that it was wrong, un-American, or dangerous for democracy. The mainstream media will never pile onto the story and dig deeper.

These lame excuses and political posturings come with a high cost. Each time we do something like this, and they respond as outlined above, their credibility drops a few points. Every time this sort of thing happens, another person on the fence looks at the evidence and joins the right team.

There is a reason why conservative blogs are full of charts, facts, figures and quotes from history, while liberal blogs ramble on about conspiracies and charges of racism. There is a reason why conservatives use their understanding of economics to build companies and empires, while the left has to resort to trickery and emotional arguments to fund their pointless projects.

It’s because we “get it.” They don’t. Their edge has always been their stranglehold on the media; but that is slipping away like star systems through Grand Moff Tarkin’s fingers. Conservatives, being the smart entrepreneurs that we are, created our own parallel media. We have filled this new media with facts, intelligence and passion. The response from the opposition has been demagoguery, excuses, and misdirection. Bad form. Bad form indeed.

So good luck digging your way out of this one, hippies. 2010 and 2012 can’t come soon enough. Leftists, you are on notice. Your orgy of power and stupidity will be brief and soon you will be gone.

Oh, and on your way out, take the mainstream media with you. You are both useless.

I have been more or less one of the resident class-clowns here at BH. Having been been so appalled at the bizarre news coming out of Washington on a daily basis, I’ve been unable to write anything, that isn’t from a satirical viewpoint. I must set off the political ‘Whoopee Cushion’ on these pages regularly, in order to keep my sanity and (pardon the expression), blow off some frustration amidst this dealership closin’, bank grabbin’, climate Goreing, march to socialism. The absolute lies, baloney and insanity streaming down from Washington, (all being completely ignored by the most of the press) have forced me to assume my old high school role of Goofball-Deluxe. Comedy hides pain? Okay maybe, but I don’t have to be B.F. Skinner to admit to you dear reader, that my satire was just an extension of the frustration caused by the real farce that has been taking place amidst one of our dearest freedoms; that of The Press.

–

However, my dear wittle wabbits; please to knock me over with a feather (imitation of course, not from a eagle or a dolphin). The savior of my week was none other than the far-left lady from the great state of Bush-Bashachussetts: Ms. Helen Thomas.

She (for the time being) has undone my jaded eye-rolling hopelessness–she has (for at least this article) turned me into a reporter of sorts. Brava lady. Brava. Okay, it took the longest running member of the White House Press Corps to get any of the mainstream media to actually pay attention and not sweep it away with their “Right Wing Conspirator-Fox News” broom – but hey, whatever dudes! This week the news was the news.

Chip Reid, was questioning Press Secretary Gibbs about stacking the deck and the lack of openness at the Annandale healthcare ‘town hall’ meeting, when Helen ran to his aid. Here’s the transcript:

Gibbs: (Talking to Chip Reid) “… But, again, let’s–How about we do this? I promise we will interrupt the AP’s tradition of asking the first question. I will let you (Reid) ask me a question tomorrow as to whether you thought the questions at the town hall meeting that the President conducted in Annandale…“

Chip Reid: “I’m perfectly happy to…”

Helen Thomas: “That’s not his point. The point is the control…

Reid: “Exactly.“

Thomas: “We have never had that in the White House. And we have had some, but not… This White House.”

Gibbs: “Yes, I was going to say, I’ll let you amend her question.”

Thomas: “I’m amazed. I’m amazed at you people who call for openness and transparency and…”

Gibbs: “Helen, you haven’t even heard the questions.”

Reid: “It doesn’t matter. It’s the process.”

Thomas: “You have left open…”

Reid: “Even if there’s a tough question, it’s a question coming from somebody who was invited or was screened, or the question was screened.”

Thomas: “It’s shocking. It’s really shocking.”

Gibbs: “Chip, let’s have this discussion at the conclusion of the town hall meeting. How about that?”

Reid: “Okay.”

Gibbs: “I think…“

Thomas: “No, no, no, we’re having it now…”

Gibbs: “Well, I’d be happy to have it now.”

Thomas: “It’s a pattern.”

Gibbs: “Which question did you object to at the town hall meeting, Helen?”

Thomas: “It’s a pattern. It isn’t the question…”

Gibbs: “What’s a pattern?”

Thomas: “It’s a pattern of controlling the press.”

Gibbs: “How so? Is there any evidence currently going on that I’m controlling the press…poorly, I might add.”

Thomas: “Your formal engagements are pre-packaged.”

Gibbs: “How so?”

Reid: “Well, and controlling the public…”

Thomas: “How so? By calling reporters the night before to tell them they’re going to be called on. That is shocking.”

Gibbs: “We had this discussion ad-nauseam and…”

Thomas: “Of course you would, because you don’t have any answers.”

Gibbs: “Well, because I didn’t know you were going to ask a question, Helen.
Go ahead.”

Thomas: “Well, you should have.”

Reporter: Thank you for your support.

Gibbs: “That’s good. Have you e-mailed your question today?”

Thomas: “I don’t have to e-mail it. I can tell you right now what I want to ask.”

Gibbs: “I don’t doubt that at all, Helen. I don’t doubt that at all.”

Well there’s my report.

Again, thanks Helen. You did good. I actually got excited and smiled at some real news coming out of that appalling room this week. To my regular readers, please stay tuned. I just know Washington will have me rolling my eyes and shaking my head once again real soon, running off to find a brand new Whoopee Cushion.

Dear Big Hollywood readers, it gives me great satisfaction to report to you that BH has been out on point not only on compelling film industry issues, which will never be covered in promo rags like Variety and the Hollywood Reporter (but then again, AMPAS and the studios aren’t buying us off), but on many controversial issues being played out in America and the greater world at large as well.

I know this to be true. Being a news junkie myself, I have found time after time as I was reading about a supposedly breaking subject, like ABC’s recent coverage of the targeted LGBT murders in Iraq, that it had already been on display for all to see in Big Hollywood posts for months.

Not to toot my own horn, but…well, okay, I’m tooting my own horn. And those of Andy Breitbart and John Nolte, who have given I, and so many other wonderful and insightful Hollywood right-wing fringe types, a magnificent bullhorn we otherwise would not have. We appear to be doing the dirty jobs our media just refuses to do. It’s a labor Hercules would completely sympathize with.

Here are some prime examples.

THE OBAMAMEDIA: The British press, the UK Telegraph in particular, are VERY unhappy with White House spokesman Robert Gibbs today. Seems Mr. Gibbs offended them beyond belief with this statement, in response to the British tabloids hammering the Obama Administration over the suppression of torture photos, a la the reviled BusHitler:

“Let’s just say if I wanted to look up, if I wanted to read a write-up of how Manchester United fared last night in the Champions League Cup, I’d might open up a British newspaper,” (Gibbs) continued. “If I was looking for something that bordered on truthful news, I’m not entirely sure it’d be the first pack of clips I’d pick up.”

The UK Telegraph found the irony of that statement delicious:

Can you imagine Gibbs making these remarks about The New York Times or The Washington Post, or NBC, ABC or CBS? This would never happen. The British press, especially the Telegraph, has been singled out because they frequently publish articles critical of the Obama administration and are not afraid to take on the status quo in Washington.

Increasingly, millions of Americans are turning to online UK news websites for cutting edge reports on American politics and U.S. foreign policy that the mainstream media refuses to cover in the States, especially if it is unflattering to the Obama White House.

Mates, you’re not telling Big Hollywood anything new. We reported that our Fourth Estate was now a Fourth Branch of Government a month ago. Of course, these UK complaints of Obamamedia malfeasance would hardly have been necessary were President Obama a Republican, which we here at BH also hypothesized in Alice In Wonderland fashion. Fact is, if Obama were a Michael Steele-like Republican POTUS, the US press would be all over him like white on rice. Can I say that?

Who’d a-thunk we and the British tabloids would ever be banding together and staging a revolt against the American government and its PRAVDA-like propaganda wing, the VSM? Strange days, indeed. I also find it incredibly ironic that, as President Obama goes out of his way to appease the Hilterite Islamist extremist regime in Iran, his administration lackeys, through pure idiocy, are marching us down the path to yet another war with the British. Not only that, just how bad is it when the British revolt against OUR tax policies? Sorry, but I’m with the Redcoats this time around.

OBAMA AND THE LEFT: On May 26th, US News and World Report opined on the dissatisfaction of the liberal wing of the Democratic Party with Obama’s Bush Lite policies. On May 24th, Gary LaMarche tried to quell the Leftie uprising against Obama with this HuffPo piece. However, if you read the comments, many Lefties aren’t biting. Sorry, Gary, the Kumbaya routine doesn’t work with tinfoils. Same at KOS, which is telling their readers to quit with the ‘Obama is a War Criminal’ crap.

Again, Big Hollywood beat all to the punch on May 23rd. We knew how much of a disappointment Obama was to the Left. It is, in fact, a complete train wreck of liberal politics, naive idealism and harsh realities. And we’re lovin’ it! Again, Big Hollywood is ahead of the curve.

OBAMA AND GAY RIGHTS: On May 23rd, the New York Times published Frank Rich’s OpEd ‘La Cage au Democrats’ in which he commiserated with gay rights advocates of how little support LGBTs were getting from the Obama White House. He closed it out with this stinging rebuke:

The gay civil rights movement has fewer obstacles in its path than did Dr. King’s Herculean mission to overthrow the singular legacy of slavery. That makes it all the more shameful that it has fewer courageous allies in Washington than King did. If “American Idol” can sing out for change on Fox in prime time, it ill becomes Obama, of all presidents, to remain mute in the White House.

Ouch! Dead Bullseye, Frank! Sorry to tell you, Mr. Rich, but you’re only splitting Big Hollywood’s arrow. BH contributor Charlie Winecoff covered this issue in-depth at Big Hollywood way back on March 19th in his ‘Love, War and Gay Marriage’ OpEd. He saw what was coming based on Obama’s own statements, positions and even associations with gay-haters like Farrakhan. On May 8th, we illustrated how even Ronald Reagan was a better friend to gays than Obama probably ever will be.

Double Ouch! Sorry, Frank. You guys at the Times have to keep pace better than that, or you just might find yourselves relegated to dinosaur status. Wait a minute…Oh, never mind.

LGBT MURDERS IN IRAQ: Yet another issue that is beginning to inflame American gay advocates, who are fast becoming infuriated at the brutal and systematic extermination of LGBTs in Iraq on our dime, sanctioned by both Supreme Leader Ali al-Sistani in his fatwa of death against Iraqi LGBTs and by the Iraqi government itself. Not only are LGBTs being slated for execution by al-Maliki’s government, the Interior Ministry police are raiding gay parties, hunting gays online, and either arresting them or killing them on the spot. Shiite gay death squads are now common in Baghdad.

News outlets such as ABC are finally beginning to cover this issue in-depth. Gay rights advocate Michael Petrelis of the Petrelis Files blog has long been on point on this issue, holding demonstrations and raising money for Iraqi gays. Though encouraged by the media attention this horrific plight of gays in Iraq is finally getting, he could not be more outraged by the willful ignorance of this issue by the White House, the State Department and his Congressional representative, none other than House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Though Mr. Petrelis was not entirely enamored of my Reagan/Obama piece on gay rights here at Big Hollywood (he called me a right wing blowhard on his blog), he does credit BH for addressing the issue as he wished so many others in the gay community and politics would, and praises our calling it for what it is: a gay holocaust. What else do you call a targeted extermination program?

That said, the Reagan piece was not the first BH OpEd to address the burgeoning problem of targeted gay murders in Iraq. That was highlighted in my very first piece for Big Hollywood, entitled ‘One Critic’s Review of Mr. Ganis Goes to Tehran’ way back on March 9th. It was, in fact, Team Oscar’s trip to gay-butchering Iran at that time, not five days after the gay-infomercial Oscars, that sent me into fireball mode and led me directly to BH in the first place.

Not only did that piece describe the longstanding gay holocaust in Iran, a de facto genocide of Iranian LGBTs, it exposed for all the world to see what a human rights sham AMPAS and so-called Hollywood gay rights champs like Sean Penn and Dustin Lance Black really are. Team Oscar member Annette Bening went so far as to praise women’s rights in Iran (an oxymoron if ever there was one), even as fellow American Roxana Saberi was being held hostage as a political pawn right across town in Evin prison. Need more be said?

Again, Big Hollywood was way ahead of the curve.

Speaking of which, the targeted killings of Iraqi LGBTs poses a very curious question. If Prop 8 opponents are so infuriated and outraged at the perceived abysmal gay rights situation in California, as these Tweeting celebrities at afterellen.com seem to be, and in which model/actress Adrianne Curry sarcastically retorted, “treating gays like they aren’t human is wonderful!” then where is the outrage over the hunting, torturing and extermination of gays in Iran and Iraq?

Where is the fury over gay men in Iraq having their anuses glued shut, and being forced to drink diarrhea cocktails that induce horrible suffering before death? Sounds like way less than human treatment to me, Adrianne. Where, oh where, is the outrage?

Just goes to show. Hollywood celebrities may not be gays rights advocates, but they play them on TV. And where else, but for a few lone gay blogs like the Petrelis Files, will you find this pressing issue covered in as much depth as here at Big Hollywood? Hmm. Curious.

TEAM OSCAR IN IRAN: Who else was covering Team Oscar in Iran like Big Hollywood? No one in the entertainment industry I could find. A few outraged conservatives, that’s about it. And it looked like AMPAS shut down all PR coverage of Team Oscar after the punking episode (a story lead I broke to Drudge and Nikki Finke, hee hee!), I had to get all my scoops from the Tehran Times and the Middle East press! This, for the most historic mission in Academy history! How sad is that?

Do any of you remember their grand Red Carpet heroes’ welcome at LAX? Me neither. Hell, they were so quiet about the trip, I though the Iranians were holding them hostage! I thought maybe they had taken me up on my offer to trade the Nine Stooges for Roxana Saberi. No such luck.

And show me anyone else in the media or entertainment rags who was pointing out that Iran’s film industry, which Academy prez Sid Ganis is still praising, spits out the worst anti-Semitic propaganda since Goebbels’ Reichministry. They’re marketing and exporting child martrdom cartoons like Hollywood does SpongeBob! Doing a bang-up business too, if you’ll pardon the pun.

THAT’S A WRAP! As a contributor I will do my best, as many other fine folks here at BH are doing, to keep you all up to date on the goings-on in Hollywood and elsewhere, that you just won’t see covered in all too many other so-called media outlets. Considering how many pressing subjects the Obamamedia is dodging to keep Dear Leader spotlessly clean, that won’t be hard to do. The real problem will be deciding on which subjects the media isn’t covering to choose from.

As a BH fan and reader, I look very much forward to reading more of the great Greg G. spilling his guts, Charlie Winecoff’s unique perspectives on the issues of our day, John Nolte’s insightful and unbiased reviews of Hollywood films and TV shows past, present and future (as well as his calling the biased reviewers out for their politically-motivated hit pieces), interviews with outstanding Hollywood filmmakers you just won’t see in HR and Variety, and many other great contributors like Robert Davi, Bert Prelutsky, Andy Breitbart too numerous to mention here.

You want the real Hollywood scoop? You know where to come! Peace, all. I hope

And so within hours of posting my Gregalogue, a bilious blogger did what bilious bloggers do best: call me a racist. Which is awesome, because it proves my point. In the world of racial politics, all you have to do is call someone a racist, and you win!

Game over.

And now, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs is pretty much doing the same thing preemptively, telling critics of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to watch what they say when it comes to her confirmation hearing. This is amazing, only because there was no need to say it at all.

Everyone’s already on their tippy toes. Look at the media who swallowed the “the first Latina ever” story as the only the story worth reporting. And check out some of the wimpier columnists, who would rather roll over on their damp mattresses than fight against the joys of “empathy.” Here’s a hint: when someone thanks you for your willingness to comply, they’re really grateful for your wussiness.

For fun, imagine if Marlin Fitzwater had told the liberal media to watch their words during the confirmation of Thomas – another Supreme Court nominee with an “inspirational” story and a nonwhite skin color. Would that have stopped the pitchforks? Uh, no.

Hell, do any of you remember Judge Robert Bork – a brilliant man so vilified because he didn’t fit the liberal mold – that his last name became a verb for political lynching?

I do. Which is why I think raising a little hell over Sotomayor seems like a fun way to spend the summer.

But then again, I may just do sudoku.
