Leave Ellen Alone: ‘Family Group’ Protests JCPenney for Hiring DeGeneres

by John Nolte

I love Ellen DeGeneres. She’s America’s kid sister.

Daily Caller:

Ellen DeGeneres is the new face of JCPenney, and one conservative group is not happy about it.

One Million Moms, an organization whose goal is to stop the exploitation of children by the entertainment media, is hoping to convince JC Penney to fire her for being gay, the Inquisitr reports.

The group argues that the retailer’s decision to hire the openly gay talk show host and comedienne will backfire because most of their customers are from “traditional families.”

I find Ellen’s politics obnoxious but doubt she’ll be advocating for abortion, Obama, and same-sex marriage in these JCPenney ads.

‘The Lion King’ and OWS: Occupy Everything the Light Touches

by Colin Carsrud

This week I saw “The Lion King” for the first time in a long time. For about 90 minutes, I became a child again. When it came out in 1994, I saw it in the theater as a boy; I was 9 years old. After its release on video, I’d owned it on VHS for years after that. In college, we watched it at a friend’s house once in the spirit of a trip down memory lane.

But this time was different. I understood what lessons it has to offer for the first time. Sure, I’d known about the mantras of “be true to yourself,” “leave the past behind you,” the similarities to Hamlet, as well as the lessons of responsibility that have become a Hollywood staple. Even when I was young, I was able to understand the depletion of resources as a result of giving everything to everyone. After all, one of Mufasa’s lessons is that everything in life has a balance. What I believed, and still believe, is that you only get out of life what you put into it. More on that in a minute …

I couldn’t help but compare the theme of the Haves versus the Have Nots to the current hyenas on Wall Street demanding their fair share. Okay, that’s unfair to actual hyenas.

But it’s a good representation of the socialistic nature knocking on America’s door. There are people who have, and people who have not, in this world – and the point is life is this way. This is where Mufasa’s balance comes into play. Life is a cycle of what one has to offer; you don’t receive anything if you offer nothing. The protesters cannot understand this. They want something for nothing. (more…)

Sickening: Westboro Baptist Church to Protest Elizabeth Taylor’s Funeral

by John Nolte

It’s impossible for me to hate these people more than I already do, so let me just say that I would sure like to be there when Jesus throws Fred Phelps and his followers out of his office and into the pit of Hell.

The Wrap:

The fiercely anti-gay [Westboro Baptist Church] — which has generated controversy by protesting at funerals of service members — announced its intentions to picket Taylor’s memorial service on Wednesday.

While the group didn’t say exactly why they planned to disrupt the funeral of the actress, who passed away at 79 on Wednesday, it’s a safe bet that Taylor’s activism for AIDS patients has something to do with it. Margie Phelps, daughter of WBC leader Fred Phelps, tweeted about the planned picket on Wednesday, referring to Taylor as a “serial-adulterous f– hag.”

From what I’ve read, the very reason Liz Taylor married so often was due to her desire not to cheat. So they might not even be hating her for the right reasons. Regardless, by all accounts Taylor was one of the most beloved and universally adored stars in the history of Hollywood. She also took up the righteous cause to fight AIDS long before red ribbons became Hollywood chic — which is probably the real motive behind this protest. Like the rest of us, Taylor undoubtedly had her moments of moral weakness, but there’s never been a moment in her life where she purposefully committed an act of outright evil like, say, picketing a funeral.

Susan Sarandon Calls Wisconsin Governor an ‘Idiot’

by Hollywoodland

—–

Starts around the 3:25 mark: And it’s a great opportunity that this idiot [WI Governor Scott] Walker has given us to remember our strength and to remember that we are the many and they are the few; and even though they have the wealth, we have something which is as important if not more important. And so I came just to say thank you.

“They” have all the wealth?

Brother, that’s priceless.

If you watch the whole interview you’ll hear that Susan Sarandon is “spreading her vast wealth” by donating pizzas to the cause.  Oh, and she likely paid her own airfare to get a little face time by interjecting herself in a big story in front of tens of thousands of people. What a sacrifice for an actor.

Hollywood Union Exploits MLK’s Assassination to Fight Repub Governors

by John Nolte

Did Dr. Martin Luther King really give his life to protect the inherently corrupt system of Public Union collective bargaining? The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) and whoever else is part of this April 4th AFL CIO “We-R-1″ protest– oops, I mean “Day of Action,” sure seems to think so. Below the fold, you’ll see their call to arms to keep the wretched process of corrupting our democracy alive. But first we go to the videotape!

—–

You see, this is how it works — at least how it works in my home state of Wisconsin:

1. Public Sector Unions give upwards of 90% of their political donations to help get Democrats elected.

2. With the help of all this public union money, Democrats get elected to local and state offices.

3. Guess who the Public Sector Unions then collective bargain with? That’s right, the very same people who they helped get elected. And guess what the elected Democrats give away in order to keep that union money coming into their campaign coffers? Taxpayer money! You want to retire at 55 with full pension and benefits? No problem. We’ll just raise the money by increasing the tax burden on the working class. Sure, that means private sector workers will have to work till their 70 due to the tax burden necessary to cover public worker pensions, but sometimes the “social justice” omelette requires a few broken eggs.

4. And yet somehow, with all these “rights” and a salary and benefit package worth around $100k a year for nine months work, Milwaukee Public School teachers still manage to not educate their students.

Yeah, that’s what King gave his life for.

Lefty Protesters Stage Home Invasions

by Greg Gutfeld

So we’ve seen a lot of protests lately. Some are monumental. Others are sillier than geese.

In America though, something odd is taking place – chucklefaces with signs are actually delivering their outrage right to their adversary’s homes.

Recently, protesters went to a developer’s house to “peacefully” hassle him because he tried to bring a Walmart to town. Yeah, this jerk wanted to bring jobs and revenue to a suffering economy- and he gets a bunch of tools chanting “Kumbaya” on his patch in return.

Something tells me that the town would prefer the developer over protesters whose only real achievement is a monthly cleansing.

Then there were protesters mobbing the Wisconsin governor’s home. Scott Walker’s sin? Getting teachers to accept the same financial realities as the rest of us.

That makes him a monster – and so his family deserves no privacy. Yet, Obama calls it an “assault” on the unions.

Speaking of, where are the Dems? Well you can’t find them at their homes. They’re all like Jerry Lundegaard at the end of Fargo – desperately crawling out windows in their baggy underwear.

And, what of the protesters hitting John Boehner’s apartment? They were objecting to a GOP push to ban a needle exchange program, curtail abortion funding and other stuff.

I bet they smelled great!

Students Against Hummus, Not Hamas

by Greg Gutfeld

So in case you missed it, the big news in 2010 was in Princeton, NJ where students voted on expanding the schools hummus offerings.

Yes, hummus.

A group, called the Princeton Committee for Palestine, want the school-run stores to sell more than one brand of the chick pea concoction. They claim that the one offered, Sabra, is owned by a business that supports the Israeli military.

And, I think we can all agree: since Jews are bad, a Jewish military is really bad!

And now, the fun part. I want to show you something that may make your eyes explode out of your face, and roll onto the floor.

It’s called the Philly BDS, (boycott, divest, sanction) a group of really attractive men and women who “danced into action” at a local grocery, in order to get the poor clerks to remove the hummus.

You may want to have the children leave the room.

Kimmel Producers Promise Not to Hire ‘Light-Torture’ Crew Again; Entertainment Media Reluctantly Covers the Story

by John Nolte

NewsBusters reports that four members of the pro-life group Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust got their hands on free tickets to the Jimmy Kimmel Show the other night and caused enough of a disruption during taping that the police escorted them out. The youth group is trying to call attention to that fact that on June 25th, while peacefully picketing outside of Grauman’s Chinese  Theatre, a film crew hired by the Kimmel Show turned a hot spotlight on one of their members, Ryan Bueler. It was an astonishing act of cruelty that’s just now starting to make the rounds online.

untitled

Because the victim of the “light-fry” was a young anti-abortion protester and not a terrorist determined to massacre as many innocent Americans as possible, the Huffington Post can’t quite bring themselves to condemn the act, and as if they’re proud of their unique ability to summon brazen hypocrisy, Fishbowl LA writes:

Groups like these live for attention and we have mixed feelings about giving it to them. But the video does look pretty bad.

Fishbowl LA covers a city and industry that is all about groups that “live for attention,” but only now are they having “mixed feelings” about giving into such a thing. (more…)

Thugs From Jimmy Kimmel Show ‘Torture’ Pro-Life Activist With Hot Spotlight

by John Nolte

According to our friends at NewsBusters, on June 25th, a pro-life group called Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust were peacefully protesting outside of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood when a crew from the Jimmy Kimmel Show arrived to do some filming. The pro-life youth activists weren’t in the film crew’s way — whatever they were shooting was across the street — but then for no reason other than to be ideologically sadistic, the crew turned a hot spotlight on Ryan Bueler, one of the young protesters. Bueler refused to be intimidated and for 15 minutes stood under a light hot enough to partially melt a bracelet he was wearing. This video is unbelievable:

—–

Well, welcome to Hollywood, where celebrity and those who surround them trump justice, because it wasn’t the goons who tortured the kid the police arrested, it was Survivors’ founder Jeff White. He was eventually released but as of now no charges have been pressed against the real thugs in this case.

Looking for an apology, the pro-life group’s now trained their protests on Jimmy Kimmel. Fair enough. He’s the boss. But my guess is that this crew is part of a union and as we’ve seen since our President urged his followers to “get in their face,” there’s a thuggish union mentality out there that seems more emboldened by the day.

Word to the wise: If the Survivors plan to demand an apology from the union, they might want to hire an army to protect them.   (more…)

The Wrap: Actress Alonso to Lead Oliver Stone Protest Tomorrow in Santa Monica

by Big Hollywood

The Wrap’s Steve Pond:

The Cuban-born, Venezuelan-raised actress Maria Conchita Alonso will lead a protest against Oliver Stone’s documentary “South of the Border” when the filmmaker appears at a screening and Q&A for the film on Friday. …

Alonso says she will lead a peaceful protest … outside the Laemmle’s Monica 4-Plex in Santa Monica, where Stone is scheduled to do a Q&A session after the 7:20 p.m. showing of his film.

chavez-and-stone

“We’re just trying to let him know that we are against his film, that it is all lies,” she says. “That’s all we can do right now. We don’t have the money to make a million-dollar documentary like he did, so what else can we do?”

Alonso says she wants Stone to answer a couple of questions about his film: where did he get the money to finance it, and why did he “refuse to interview everyday Venezuelan people about their lives under this oppressive regime?” ….

In the past, Alonso has been an outspoken critic of actors Sean Penn and Danny Glover (her co-stars in “Colors” and “Predator 2,” respectively), who have expressed support for Cuba’s Fidel Castro and Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez. Both rulers are shown in a favorable light in Stone’s documentary, which the New York Times’ Stephen Holden called “a provocative, if shallow, exaltation of Latin American socialism.” (more…)

Daily Gut: Infiltrating the Tea Party

by Greg Gutfeld

So a hater of the Tea Party movement claims he plans to destroy the group, by infiltrating it and then having his cohorts act racist and homophobic. He thinks manufacturing this behavior can devastate the party’s reputation.

Well, I guess that beats honest debate.

 tea-kool-aid

But what a lot of work! Which leads me to believe this guy is a nobody, in between jobs, desperately seeking approval (and possibly, some tongue) from Keith Olbermann. The dope even started a web page, a Facebook page, and more than likely holds secret meetings in a tree house in his parent’s backyard.

The secret knock is based on a Rage Against the Machine song!

It’s funny because it’s the Tea Party movement. But I suppose it wouldn’t be so funny if it were the woman’s movement, a civil rights movement, a gay parade. Then that would be evil, intolerable, wrong. But because these are average Americans pissed off about big government, they’re open game. (more…)

Lonewolf Diaries: The Case Against Canada & Hate Crime Laws

by Steven Crowder

Canada, it is a silly place. Yes, I was raised there, and yes I acknowledge it. Sadly, in recent years it seems that Canada has gone from silly to downright dangerous. This is particularly true if you are a Conservative or dare to ever even think of speaking out against the politically correct, sub-zero establishment.

LoneWolf

You’ve no doubt heard about Ann Coulters’ escapades in the Great White North. College leftists (who’d had no qualms with terrorist sympathizers speaking at their school in the past) were so offended with the idea of what Madam Coulter might say ,that they attempted to ban her from the premises. When that didn’t happen, the young Green-Day liberals decided to stage a protest. Of course (as is often the case with liberal protests) things got out of hand, with protesters becoming so unruly that the situation had become not only a safety hazard to Ann herself, but for the myriad people who were there to hear her speak. Woodstockers would be proud! So students thirsty for knowledge and debate have to deal with all of this hooplah because many Canadians forecasted that Ann Coulter might engage in –cue dramatic chipmunk– hate speech! (more…)

Yahoo: A Demonstrator dressed as a figure of the movie ‘Avatar’, shouts slogans against Israel’s separation barrier in the West Bank village of Bilin near Ramallah, Friday, Feb. 12, 2010. More here.

Associated Press:

JERUSALEM (AP) – Palestinian protesters have added a colorful twist to demonstrations against Israel’s separation barrier, painting themselves blue and posing as characters from the hit film “Avatar.”

The demonstrators also donned long hair and loincloths Friday for the weekly protest against the barrier near the village of Bilin.

They equated their struggle to the intergalactic one portrayed in the film. (more…)

Protesting Cartoons: A Real Hate Crime

by James Hudnall

Back in 2005, twelve Danish cartoonists received death threats for their interpretation of the prophet Muhammad from some in the Muslim world. We thought that couldn’t happen here. America is more tolerant. But in America we don’t threaten people with death so much as we try to kill their reputation.

mallard

Especially our home-grown fanatics on the left who view conservatives the same way Muslim extremists view Jews. Witness the silly brouhaha in the Daily News recently. Mallard Filmore, a mildly conservative strip did this cartoon to howls of indignation and rage from our very own fascists, those humorless drones known as left-wing activists. (more…)

We are proud! We are united! We are loyal! We are kind and giving! We are decent! We are diverse! We are always seeking to improve ourselves and lift others! We are always the first ones to show up in time of need-anywhere in the world! We are the most powerful country in the world-but we are not bullies! We are family! We are friends and neighbors!  We are Americans and we are without a doubt the best example of a free people the world has ever seen-period.

We are ready to let our voices be heard-loud and clear! We are going to show up whenever and wherever we are called to defend ourselves. We are going to defend all patriotic Americans against slander and libel, in and out of court with both our presence and our pocketbooks. We are going to show up in unprecedented numbers and vote out the garbage, both left and right, that claim to represent us but prove otherwise-time and time again. We are energized, organized, determined and willing to stand up against the lies, intimidation, corruption, media manipulation and government fraud that is and has been perpetrated against us for too long now. We are especially ready to fight and stop any and all efforts that are currently being taken to separate us from our constitutional rights! (more…)

It’s the Saul Alinsky Comedy Show!

by John T. Simpson

“The only way to upset the power structure in your communities is to goad them, confuse them, irritate them and, most of all, make them live by their own rules. If you make them live by their own rules, you destroy them. And never forget that ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. Comedy is our friend. Throw the kitchen sink at them!” – from Saul Alinksy’s “Rules for Radical Comedians.”

Alinsky384
Alinsky

I never really had any insight into the pure comic genius of Saul Alinsky until I saw his new age Method followers display their considerable chops on the national stage. James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles, the Master’s ostentatious and envelope-pushing Dan Aykroyd and Gilda Radner-like proteges, whose hilarious ACORN skits also showed brilliant flashes of the late great Allen Funt. The Mysterious Mister X, the L.A. street comic who “Alinskyed” Faris Alkhateeb’s boredom-fueled Obama Joker art into an urban poster as devilishly humorous as Hannibal Lecter, also made as big a national splash as a 300-pound chub doing a cannonball into a crowded public kiddie pool. Adam Lambert Turns the Other Cheek (Again)

by Deborah Weiss

Jewish, gay Adam Lambert seems to be more Christian than some “Christians” at the Baptist Church.  Ye shall know them by their fruits.

Adam is a singer first and foremost, and initially it was his voice that drew me to him. His range, falsetto, and his ability to hold high notes were amazing. On “American Idol,” his choices in music, clothes, lighting and sets, always made his performances entertaining.  Indeed, I liked his whole performance package. Additionally, I was intrigued by his display of emotion, including the angry snarls and the steaming sexuality. I’m a Broadway and hard rock girl, and I liked the fact that he was over-the-top.

adam-lambert1

Some of the exact things I liked about his performances, also probably made me biased against him personally.  I can’t really say I felt the kind of attraction to him that so many others professed.  And, his Goth look — the pitch black hair, black eyeliner and nail polish, coupled with his unabashed sexuality, didn’t exactly lead me, conservative Debbie, to believe that he’s the kind of guy I’d want to be friends with or whose values I would share.  Fortunately, I’m open minded, and as in my politics, I try to form conclusions based on fact, not superficial impressions.   (more…)

4:30 p.m.  Alhambra Town Hall Health Care Meeting with Congressman Shiff:  August 12, 2009

I’m sitting in the parking lot, a poster board and black Sharpie in hand, the radio on Frank Pastori,  99.5 FM.  He’s passionately discussing the very current, very urgent Obamacare catastrophe with callers.  I am creating my protest poster, trying to zero in on the exact name of this, his latest attempt at World Domination…Nationalized-Universal-Single-Payer-Socialized-Government-Controlled-Health-Care-Insurance-Reform-Thing.  I settle on “Obamacare.”  I call in to the radio show.  My voice is higher than usual and a bit shaky.  It takes a lot of energy to protest.  All my endorphins are zinging.  “Hi Frank…I’m here at the…”

I have a flashback to SNL…adrenaline rushing through my veins, and Steven Tyler just down the hall.  My Madonna poster on the wall…I looked at her attitude for inspiration. I told her that once and she said, “…Really?”   On a scale of 1 to 10, her exhibitionism is a 150 and mine is a 5. I would have never predicted that in 17 years, I would be sitting in a Honda Civic, head full of super-boring health care facts, watching old people walk by, while squeaking this out on a poster,

“What’s the Rush?” (afraid we’ll read the bill?).
