I’ve been so hard on Jon Stewart lately that it felt dishonest not to post what is objectively a truly clever and very funny skewering of MSNBC. And I post this well aware that everyone’s going to accuse me of only liking Stewart when he attacks the other side, which happens to be mostly true. In my mind, Stewart is no different from a Lawrence O’Donnell or Chris Matthews and so if he unfairly attacks one of our own, I’m going to fight back. But if he goes after one of his own you can bet that I’m going to sit back and savor every moment.

Feel free to sue me, but be sure to enjoy the video first.

And if Stewart isn’t enough fun for you, Keith Olbermann’s obviously wounded feelings might help to fill that gap:

Firestorm Continues Over Michael Moore’s ‘Hooey’ Rape Comments

by SusanAnne Hiller

What would we ever do without the Hollywood left, especially Michael Moore (and, of course, Keith Olbermann), and his special way of setting off a firestorm every time he opens his mouth.  For such a tolerant leftist, he is short on sympathy for women–especially rape victims.  In an interview with Olbermann, Moore calls the rape case against WikiLeak’s founder Julian Assange “a bunch of hooey” as seen here:

——

However, Moore’s outrageous comments completely dismissing the alleged rapes have raised the ire of many, setting off a Twitter firestorm, fueled by Tiger Beatdown blogger Sady Doyle who started the Twitter hashtag #mooreandme.  Doyle doesn’t stop there, and hauls off on Moore in her piece:

So, here are some cheerful statistics for you: According to RAINN, about 60% of rapes aren’t reported. In those cases, there’s about a 51% chance that the 40% of reported rapes will have an arrest made. There’s an 80% chance of prosecution. And, given various factors including conviction and sentencing, there’s only about a 16.3% chance that someone who commits rape will serve time for that rape. Meaning:  If we factor in the rapes that go unreported, only 6% of rapists ever serve time. EVER. …

He’s put $20,000 hard, cashy dollars on the line, so that Julian Assange, white male left-wing darling, will be able to get out on bail despite posing a substantial and acknowledged flight risk, and despite the fact that he evidently is working to avoid facing the charges of his accusers. And why is that? Well, as per Michael Moore’s lengthy diatribe on the subject, which contains exactly one paragraph about the rape charges, his reasoning is as follows:

Daily Gut: The New Extremism

by Greg Gutfeld

So President Obama faced a few hecklers yesterday, who went after him about the “Don’t ask, Don’t Tell” policy.

Take a gander, gander takers:

Now I, for one, think it’s awesome to see gay activists stretching beyond the easy targets. Usually, they rag on Mormons, because they’ll take it – but ignore black churches because they won’t. So now, for once, they’re actually speaking truth to power.

But hold on.

I just wonder… couldn’t this heckling be a precursor to violent extremism? And could this agitation toward our President, believed to be based on policy – actually be thinly veiled racism? I mean, the President actually said he agreed with this gay group. And yet they still heckled. Perhaps the members of Get Equal should look in the mirror, and ask themselves why they’re so uncomfortable with a black man in the Oval Office. Perhaps Chris Matthews could ask this question for them. While Olbermann holds the mirror. (more…)

Secularism’s Drones ‘Sting’ Brit Hume

by Adam Baldwin

On Fox News Sunday, panelist Brit Hume offered a hopeful New Year’s message for the fallen Tiger Woods:

“Tiger Woods will recover as a golfer. Whether he can recover as a person, I think, is a very open question… the extent to which he can recover, it seems to me, depends on his faith. He’s said to be a Buddhist, I don’t think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. So, my message to Tiger would be: ‘Tiger, turn to the Christian faith, and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.’”

As an avid golfer, Christian man, and therefore a witness to the historic fact of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Mr. Hume clearly offered his message in good faith with honest concern for both Tiger’s future and for that of his family, friends, fans and business associates.

Sadly however, some drones of Secularism have reflexively stomped on their Political Correctness brakes; stinging at Mr. Hume with personal demonization, as if he’d somehow committed a sin against their totalitarian faith

Keith Olbermann: “This crosses that principle [of keeping] religious advocacy out of public life, since, you know, the worst examples of that are jihadists, not to mention, you know, guys who don’t know their own religions or somebody else’s religion, like Brit Hume.”

Dan Savage: “Whenever we have a discussion in our country about jihadism and radical Muslims, you always hear, ‘where are the moderate voices? Where are the moderate Muslims? Why don’t they speak up?’ Where are the moderate Liberal Progressive Christians when something like this happens?… American Christianity’s been hijacked by the lunatics [including] people like Brit Hume.”  (more…)

Debating Leftists is Like Debating Charles Manson

by Leigh Scott

Keith Olbermann’s recent hour-long commentary was quite revealing.  Like Michael Moore’s “capitalism hasn’t done anything for me” comment, the outpouring of support and sympathy for serial pedophile and admitted rapist Roman Polanski, and President Obama’s shenanigans at the U.N. and G-20, it drove home a simple, powerful point…

These people don’t know what they are talking about.

olbermann

They do not know their kiesters from a hole in the ground.  They are a few fries short of a happy meal and a few cards short of a full deck.  Their phasers are permanently set on “clueless.”

Once you come to this realization, as many of us have, you are forced to approach their ideas and spokespeople from a position of reality.  Not from some sanctimonious position of civility and “debate.” (more…)

Mainstream Media: The Devil Wears Pravda

by John T. Simpson

From the riots and chaos of the 1960s to the anti-war rallies of the Bush years, the American Left’s revolution has been widely televised. In fact, the Big Three and Dead Tree Press played a major part in that revolution. From negative field reporting during the Vietnam War to negative reporting on McCain/Palin and the beatification and election of Barack Obama, the MSM has been marching in lockstep and waving the banner for the American Left all the way. RatherGate, anyone? Doesn’t get much more lockstep than a reporter trying to subvert a presidential election to the Left’s advantage.

herd-of-sheep

But there’s another revolution underway in America today, and you sure as hell won’t see it televised or reported on by our new fourth branch of government. It’s not in their interest to do so. Nothing new there. For a long time now, political corruption has been rampant in the Leftist ‘mainstream’ media. In 1998, Matt Drudge made his big mark breaking the Monica Lewinsky scandal, which Newsweek had buried to protect President Clinton. Think Obama’s Tiger Beat would have done that for Bush? (more…)

Keith Olbermann Dishes Dirt on Glenn Beck

by Steven Crowder

It takes a big man to admit when he’s been bested. I think it’s time for Glenn Beck to step up and apologize. Keith does such a number on him in this video, that I’m guessing Beck is down for the count. It’s sad to see, because Glenn seems like a nice enough guy.

The Left Has Spoken: Today, We Are All Extremists

by John T. Simpson

The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belong to one category.” – Adolf Hitler.

“At this point, whatever dividing line there was between mainstream conservatism and the black-helicopter crowd seems to have been virtually erased.” – NY Times columnist Paul Krugman.

Paul Krugman

Really sucks to be a conservative these days. I feel like I’m walking around with a big bulls-eye on my back. I know many of the Left, especially Keith Olbermann, Frank Rich, Paul Krugman, the New York Times editorial staff and all the pundits at HuffPo and KOS would find that statement hilariously ironic, given the recent shooting deaths of Dr. George Tiller in Kansas and security guard Steven T. Johns at the Holocaust Museum. Then again, they’re not the ones being branded en masse as co-conspirators in those murders. Conservatives are. (more…)

The Ghost of Johnny Carson

by Ernie Mannix

David Letterman was just rising – earlier than you might think for a guy who’s show is on late enough for college partiers and “freelancers” to enjoy without fear of feeling tired the next day. You’d think that only if you didn’t know the show is taped earlier in the day – and what was taped this week certainly stirred the pot.

“You think maybe you would have edited that, David?” Mr. Carson asked, standing in the lavish bathroom.

“I mean your producer had the time. They could have cut it, right?”

Carson looked very young. Circa ‘66 young.

Letterman was incredulous.  “Johnny… what the heck are you doing here, how can this be possible?” the aging late night host queried. (more…)

Daily Gut: The Empathy Express

by Greg Gutfeld

It’s just a few months into the Presidency, and Barack Obama is finally living up to his middle name.

In a good way, of course!

In front of the Turkish Parliament last April, he stressed how he’s lived among Muslims, while also saying the West must “educate ourselves more effectively on Islam.” Of course, I thought I learned all I needed to know already. But I’ve soon realized that all that terrorism, murder, and mayhem are the fault of extremists – and Islam really is a peaceful religion (we should really be listening to Olbermann and focusing on those nutty rightwing Christians who fly planes into abortionists).

So I totally get what OFM (our fearless Messiah) is doing. Before he was president, he stressed his Christianity, because we’re a nation of Christians. Now, with the office under his belt, he can speak freely of his experiences in the Muslim world. (more…)

Waterboard Pelosi — Let’s Get to the Truth!

by Gary Graham

Nancy Pelosi this morning let the floodgates open.  In a ‘frank and open’ press conference she waffled and redirected.  She explained, rationalized, dodged and obfuscated.   She bobbed and weaved.  She danced the Paso Doble.  It was a masterful exhibition of Terpsichore, with lovely grand jete’s, loop-de-loops and chicanery.

I haven’t seen such tap dancing since last year’s So You Think Ya Can Dance auditions.

Looking and sounding very shaky and rattled, she maintained that she had no idea the Enhanced Interview Techniques used on suspected terrorists to get vital life-saving information from them included waterboarding.  Misremembering expertly, Ms. Pelosi said in her briefing, she was told that waterboarding techniques “were…not…being…employed.”  (It apparently is a useful technique with politicians interested in convincing you of the sincerity and impeccable veracity of their statements  …to…slow…down…and… …emphasize…each…word.   As in, “I…did…not…have…sex…with that woman…Miss Lewinsky….”)

From Fourth Estate to Fourth Branch of Government

by John T. Simpson

I remember when the term investigative journalism used to mean something. My first introduction to it was through Peter Maas’ seminal classic The Valachi Papers at the tender age of eleven. Hooked me right away. A year later, at the age of twelve,  I devoured William L. Shirer’s monumental and award-winning ‘Rise and Fall of the Third Reich: A History of Nazi Germany.’ A very heady 1250 pages of fine print in paperback, and I do mean fine print. Worth its weight in gold.

From that point on, I was addicted. I couldn’t get enough of Peter Maas, Robin Moore, Woodward and Bernstein, Nick Pileggi, Ovid Demaris, James Bamford, James Michener, Cornelius Ryan, anything from the Ballantine Espionage/Intelligence Library, and too many others to list here.

I only recently read Michener’s The Bridge at Andau, an account of the 1956 Hungarian Uprising based on hundreds of eyewitness accounts, written in novelized form to protect identities at the time. It takes you right into the chaotic and revolutionary Bupapest of the day as though you were there. (more…)

Performance Art Taken to New Levels

by Leigh Scott

The more I watch clips like Janeane Garofalo’s appearance on the Olbermann show, the more I’m convinced that its not real.  That’s right.  Allow me to introduce to the world a new form of “trutherism.” I have discovered a new conspiracy.  I think leftist talking heads are faking it.

In the late 1970s the brilliant Andy Kaufman created an alter ego, Tony Clifton.  Kaufman demanded that his “friend” Tony get a role on the show Taxi.  He then proceeded to cause such a disturbance on set (including hiring hookers to accompany him) that his co-stars walked off the production. Not once did Kaufman admit or acknowledge that he and Clifton were the same person.  He never broke character. It was a brilliant, immersive piece of performance art.

Kaufman’s legacy of blending performance art, comedy, and audacious behavior continues today.  Witness Jon Stewart, Garofalo, Ed Shultz, Olbermann, Susan Roesgen, Michael Moore, Rosie O’Donnell and countless other performers.  How else can you explain such over the top examples of derangement?  What better way to distance yourself from the pack by espousing views and analysis that fly in the face of history and common sense?  When Olbermann looks at the camera with a straight face and talks about Dick Cheney’s secret assassination squads, you have to admire his ability to not loose composure like Horatio Sanz in the middle of an SNL sketch.

How could anyone consider the philosophies of Ayn Rand and Milton Friedman, witness the awesome display of grassroots demonstration that is the Tea Party movement, and hear the pleas of average citizens to stop government spending and boil it all down to “racism”?  You can’t.  It’s a joke.  An elaborate hoax.  It’s funnier than Gallagher smashing a watermelon and more intricate than the Punk’d episode where Ashton Kutcher totally set up Frankie Muniz.
