Using Arts for Conservative Purposes

by Michael van der Galien

Big Hollywood and Big Government have done tremendous work in recent weeks. They have proved without a doubt that the Obama administration and its allies have gone too far. They’ve crossed the line. Federal agencies are turned into propaganda tools. This is something we haven’t seen in the U.S. since, well, ever. This administration knows no shame. Everything is permissible in order to push its legislative agenda through the collective throat of the American people. And the MSM are covering it all up, refusing to spend time and attention to the ACORN scandal first and now the NEA scandal.

It’s a good thing there are conservatives willing to expose this administration for what it is.

But the question is, what’s next? How can this be countered and how can the Obama administration be forced to back down? As it is, liberal groups, news organizations and individuals continue to cover up for the administration. Perhaps someone will be thrown under the bus again, but the thugs of Team Obama will remain in place and continue to “transform America.”

Exposing their tactics is necessary to fight them, but it’s not enough to actually beat them. Mr. Breitbart and team have learned that the tactics the left has used against conservatives for decades; to discredit them works wonders. But if conservatives want to take back the government, we have to copy the left’s organizing skills as well. (more…)

Mainstream Media: The Devil Wears Pravda

by John T. Simpson

From the riots and chaos of the 1960s to the anti-war rallies of the Bush years, the American Left’s revolution has been widely televised. In fact, the Big Three and Dead Tree Press played a major part in that revolution. From negative field reporting during the Vietnam War to negative reporting on McCain/Palin and the beatification and election of Barack Obama, the MSM has been marching in lockstep and waving the banner for the American Left all the way. RatherGate, anyone? Doesn’t get much more lockstep than a reporter trying to subvert a presidential election to the Left’s advantage.

herd-of-sheep

But there’s another revolution underway in America today, and you sure as hell won’t see it televised or reported on by our new fourth branch of government. It’s not in their interest to do so. Nothing new there. For a long time now, political corruption has been rampant in the Leftist ‘mainstream’ media. In 1998, Matt Drudge made his big mark breaking the Monica Lewinsky scandal, which Newsweek had buried to protect President Clinton. Think Obama’s Tiger Beat would have done that for Bush? (more…)

David Axelrod, Rasputin of the Magic Kingdom

by John T. Simpson

Senior Obama advisor David Axelrod made the news recently with his comment on NPR’s ‘The Hot Seat’, when he offhandedly remarked that ‘Miss California’ was one of three names considered for President Obama’s new dog, Bo. The remark was met with uproarious laughter by NPR’s Regressive live audience. Then again, the intellectual retards of the Left will laugh at most anything that grossly insults anyone to the right of Stalin, like second graders instinctively laughing at farts.

President Obama — David Axelrod

You know. Like Wanda Sykes, Sandra Bernhard and the Teabag-loving MSM.

As to Mr. Axelrod’s crude and lame attempt at insulting humor that should be beneath the dignity of any presidential advisor, I can only conclude that he made that derogatory comment about Carrie Prejean because Miss California shares his boss’s negative attitude  toward gay marriage. (more…)

From Fourth Estate to Fourth Branch of Government

by John T. Simpson

I remember when the term investigative journalism used to mean something. My first introduction to it was through Peter Maas’ seminal classic The Valachi Papers at the tender age of eleven. Hooked me right away. A year later, at the age of twelve,  I devoured William L. Shirer’s monumental and award-winning ‘Rise and Fall of the Third Reich: A History of Nazi Germany.’ A very heady 1250 pages of fine print in paperback, and I do mean fine print. Worth its weight in gold.

From that point on, I was addicted. I couldn’t get enough of Peter Maas, Robin Moore, Woodward and Bernstein, Nick Pileggi, Ovid Demaris, James Bamford, James Michener, Cornelius Ryan, anything from the Ballantine Espionage/Intelligence Library, and too many others to list here.

I only recently read Michener’s The Bridge at Andau, an account of the 1956 Hungarian Uprising based on hundreds of eyewitness accounts, written in novelized form to protect identities at the time. It takes you right into the chaotic and revolutionary Bupapest of the day as though you were there. (more…)

Fat is the New Smoking

by James Hudnall

Do you have a spare tire? Some bulges? Do your thighs rub together? Do you have a big gut?

Well, be prepared to be ostracized.

They already did a number on smokers. It used to be you could smoke almost anywhere, from the supermarket to your workplace. And then they started passing laws until you now have to go to smoke areas which are usually outside and away from everywhere else. Even though OSHA had to admit that second-hand smoke in the workplace cannot affect people except under extreme conditions. (more…)

Daily Gut: Rightwing Cranks

by Greg Gutfeld

So just as the other networks predicted, the April 15th tea parties were nothing but cauldrons brimming with rage. Rage against Obama, rage against the government, rage against these troubled times. Take a look for yourself.

(Roll footage of recent New York City anti-Israel protests, with their hate filled signs and chants)

Oh, sorry. Wrong tape. (We must have a new guy in the control room, probably from MSNBC). Anyway, while I was watching the protests, I couldn’t help but feel the anger building among these folks – and I knew it wouldn’t be long before their fury would turn frightening. Like here:

(Roll footage of G20 protesters rioting and smashing bank windows in London)

Whoops. My apologies – we can`t seem to get this right. Anyway, can we actually show some real footage of what went on yesterday? (more…)

My Real Time with Brigitte Gabriel

by Charles Winecoff

It seems obvious to me that national security is an everybody issue. And apparently, all kinds of people sign up for Act For America’s training seminars – Christians, Jews Hindus Atheists, lesbians, gays, people of all colors and creeds – not just trailer park stereotypes that the ill-informed automatically presume. Brigitte Gabriel is unabashedly gay friendly, feminist friendly, progress friendly, and more socially liberal friendly than her detractors would ever dare to admit – because, as she says herself, “that’s what Western civilization is all about.”

It’s not about calling women second class citizens and feeling supreme above all others. We’ve had enough trouble fighting supremacist movements here in the US already – and now we have a black President to prove the battle is almost over. So why are the Chris Roddas out there trying to malign and marginalize someone who is fighting to prevent another supremacist group – radical Islamists – from asserting their macho supremacy anew? The Slobbering Sycophants of the MSM

by Burt Prelutsky

It wasn’t that long ago that my friend Bernard Goldberg told me he was never going to write another book. It was just a lot of hard work, he complained, and while he was working on one, virtually all joy was sucked out of his life. It made perfect sense to me. Besides, books take a lot of time to write and Bernie, who wishes he’d grown another foot-and-a-half so he could have competed in the NBA, still needs to work on his hook shot.

Well, he lied. But at least it was in a good cause. I just read his latest slice-and-dice of the liberal media, “A Slobbering Love Affair: The True (and Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media,” and I was reminded what a travesty the MSM made of the 1st amendment in its desire to ensure Obama’s victory. Your Assignment: Rename Guantanamo!

by Ernie Mannix

(First installment in the not so unbelievable ‘Upside Down Bizarre World’ series.)

Dateline:  The Future. (Most likely spring 2012).

Yesterday morning I was awoken at 6:45 am by a call from The White House. After the initial throat- clearing lie about being awake, I gathered my wits enough to not act overly impressed or afraid. (Especially considering the recent executive order jailing Sean Hannity).

I had hoped it was from the President himself, but alas it was merely Vice President McCain’s secretary. (I still can’t get used to McCain as V.P., even this long after Leno-gate, and Biden’s subsequent resignation.)

Having done product naming in my former life as an advertising writer, I was once again asked if I would helm a small committee of creative types, who’s task would be naming the soon to open ‘Global Peace Park‘ at the former site of the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. (more…)
