I always find it fascinating when people who used to be liberal say they turned to the right. That happened with you. Can you tell us about it?

Well, it’s a cliché from the left to the right. And it’s usually a story of opportunism in those few cases where the people move from the right to the left. It’s almost embarrassing to go back into my liberal background because it was about as shallow a belief system as humanly possible. It was go-along to get-along social. It was living in Los Angeles, being young, and single, and flowing with the trendy liberal crowd.

When I started to work in Hollywood at a fairly low level delivering scripts around town, listening to AM talk radio, I at first listened to it as a novelty. But I started to have certain things in my life going on such as living in a rent controlled apartment, having listened to the Clarence Thomas hearings, the OJ Simpson trial — I just started to see trends in my personal experiences that ran so contrary to what the media narratives were. At first I was flummoxed by it and then I just started to listen to certain people on the radio who were more clear thinking than the professors that I had in college.

I remember thinking when I was in college that a lot of these known Chomsky-like, verbose high lefty thinkers made absolutely no sense but I thought that was my problem. So when I started to listen to conservative thinkers and to read conservative thinkers, there was a clarity of thought. It wasn’t muddled. It wasn’t confusing. It started to make sense at an intellectual level and tie into the values that my parents gave me when I was a young kid that I diverted from when I was in high school.

So it was basically a reconnecting with everything that my parents attempted to instill in me in my youth. It has made me sleep a lot better at night, being centered and oriented with human nature as opposed to living in a world of self loathing nihilism, trying to undo human nature, and trying to create a path towards an unrealistic utopia.

Now, you were recently banned from the front page of The Huffington Post….

Oh, the tragedy of my life.

(Laughs) It is, it is. Apparently you made some sort of ad hominem attack on Van Jones and The Huffington Post has a policy against that. It must have been in place for at least two minutes or so before you were banned. Can you talk about that?

So Live Action unleashed more undercover videos filmed at Planned Parenthood clinics. In the latest, the pranksters, posing as a pimp and prostitute, told the case worker that they run a “sex work” clinic with 14 and 15 year old girls. They then asked how to bring them in for abortions or STD tests without getting caught.

Naturally, lefties like Media Matters said these vids were no big deal. Yet, because of these tapes, they’ve joined 26 progressive groups in pleading to Congress not to defund Planned Parenthood.

So what’s it gunna be – a big deal, or no big deal?

Well, if the angry left must circle its wagons around PP, then it’s a HUGE deal.

These idiots, though, fail to realize that it’s too late: PP has already admitted they’re wrong – by firing the guilty. And now, the organization announced it will retrain thousands of staff members – and also can anyone who doesn’t comply when it came to reporting minors in trouble.

So this prank was a massive, vital success, for it exposed a horrible flaw in the ideology of confidentiality that allows sexual abuse to occur.

Yet Media Matter’s Eric Boehlert tweets mockingly about it.

(They should change the name to Misogynist Matters.)

Finally, let’s go back to what I said long ago. If, in the original Borat movie, there was a scene where the main character entered a clinic, asking for teenage sex slavery advice, movie critics would marvel at how he got those rubes to reveal unspeakable crimes.

And yet it happens now, for real – but not by a clever movie star. So it’s just a silly sting done by hacks.

True, it’s a sting.

But for a sting to work, someone has to be stung. And Live Action didn’t supply actors to play the Planned Parenthood employees.

Those people, sadly, were real.

Even Planned Parenthood admits that.

Too bad the creeps at Media Matters can’t.

And if you disagree with me, you’re worse than David Brock.

Tonight:

Some of you might also have heard of billionaire George Soros’ not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3) Media Matters, which is an oxymoron the IRS should show a little interest in. Hilariously, Andrew has been living rent-free in Media Matters’ head for as long as I’ve known them both and their unrelenting obsession with his every move, tweet, and word could easily compete with the notebooks found in the apartment of Kevin Spacey’s serial killer in “Se7en.”

Here’s the title of their hysterical 2,300 word response to the announcement of Andrew’s new association with GOProud:

After Promoting Anti-Gay Rhetoric, Breitbart is Named to Gay Group’s Board

And what have endless hours of Senior Fellowing through two full years of Big Hollywood writings dug up?

Rep. Frank Should “Stop Phoning Every Number He Finds Scrawled On Bathroom Walls.”

Could someone please explain to to those with the Indian name Abusers of 501(c)(3), the difference between criticizing grotesquely offensive behavior unbecoming of a congressman (a brothel was run out of Frank’s house by his former boyfriend) and anti-anything?

Regardless, I congratulate Andrew on his new appointment and look forward to meeting and partying with and welcoming to our Big Tent, all the GOProuders attending this year’s CPAC.

So it was Eric Boehlert’s birthday last night, and no one noticed.

Well, except for me. I sent the Media Matters mope a bouquet of edible underwear – since it may be one of the few things George Soros won’t pay for.

But what a gloomy day for E-B. He has just one job: watching Fox News in his tie-dye onesie… and he even screwed that up. Days ago, his hive of hacks mistook a Leno skit for a Fox Special Report clip. And this caused them to issue a “regret the error” note.

Now – don’t get me wrong. This is NOT a big deal. People make mistakes like this all the time. I probably made seven of them in the last sentence. So no gloating over here.

However, it should offer a moment of contemplation for Eric, as that curved line of middle age descends toward death: this is what you do for a living, and you don’t do it well.

Think about it. Your job is to focus all of your energies on “media bias.” But because the media world – i.e. television news, motion pictures, the art world, news papers, academia, all forms of pop music and pop culture in general – are liberal- it only leaves your progressive outfit with one real target.

And that’s Fox News. So that’s got to tell you something: if your time is consumed needling just one outlet – that says you’re barnacled to the bloated side of liberal bias. Or, you would have many more targets.

Simple, no?

Worse, that’s a cushy job, and you mucked it up. You’re like that kid in class whose only assignment is to carry around an egg – a lesson in responsibility – and you dropped it. That’s got to be a sign: as another birthday passes, it’s time to do something for a living an adult can be proud of. Churning out repetitive spurts of envious whining doesn’t make for a life – even if Soros pays dearly for it.

An alternative: pressed flower craft. it’s like decoupage, but with pressed flowers.

And if you disagree with me, you’re worse than Hitler.

Tonight:

the lovely Lauren Sivan!

the lovely John Gibson!

the lovely Imogen Lloyd Webber!

Bonus for Media Matters tonight: the Robots recreate Eric’s birthday!

After flying Andrew Breitbart all the way out to Phoenix, Arizona yesterday to participate in an online Townhall election event, after taking him out of his home state, away from his business, and nearly making it impossible for him to vote in today’s crucial midterm election (though he’s on an airplane now in order to cast his ballot), at about as close to the last minute as you can get, Andrew Morse, chief of the ABC News digital division, sent the following email late this afternoon abruptly canceling Breitbart’s appearance:

We have spent the past several days trying to make clear to you your limited role as a participant in our digital town hall to be streamed on ABC News.com and Facebook. The post on your blog last Friday created a widespread impression that you would be analyzing the election on ABC News. We made it as clear as possible as quickly as possible that you had been invited along with numerous others to participate in our digital town hall. Instead of clarifying your role, you posted a blog on Sunday evening in which you continued to claim a bigger role in our coverage. As we are still unable to agree on your role, we feel it best for you not to participate.

This is yet another obvious attempt to build a narrative that puts the blame on Breitbart when the truth is that this is nothing more than ABC News caving in to and attempting to appease the organized left’s outrage machine that went into full astroturf mode after Breitbart’s ABC News appearance was made public.

As a reminder as to who’s exaggerating, here is exactly how Breitbart’s election night townhall event was described by an ABC News producer to him in an email:

This program will broadcast on the ABC Television Network, abcnews.com, ABC News Now, and ABC News Radio. …

The show will be live on the web and ABC News Now as well as on the network from 4:00pm till 11:00pm MST.

With this in mind and in writing, here is how Big Journalism announced Breitbart’s ABC News appearance:

ABC announced their election night coverage early on and Big Journalism Editor Dana Loesch will join the network in studio for 6 p.m. – 2 a.m. election night; Bigs founder and head of the Breitbart empire Andrew Breitbart will be bringing analysis live from Arizona.

Obviously that’s not an exaggeration, but after this announcement posted, the Left exploded in organized outrage and in order to mollify them, ABC News released an official statement walking back their original invitation. In response to this, on Sunday, here is how Breitbart himself went even further to describe his role in the very post Mr. Morse references as the reason for the abrupt cancellation:

I was promised no specific amount of airtime, nor payment for my analysis, but was told that I would be a part of the broadcast coverage in addition to participating in the online event[.]

That fits any possible definition of any possible role ABC News had in mind for Breitbart and yet in order to justify his abrupt cancellation, Mr. Morse refers to that sentence as continuing to “claim a bigger role.”

If that description is unacceptable, then no description is acceptable, and that’s the real point.

By continuing to release these provably false statements, ABC News is attempting to disguise and cover up for the fact that they are giving in to the PC, anti-free speech forces on the Left. Anyone concerned with diversity of opinion and the idea of open, healthy debate should take note of this and the recent firing of Juan Williams from NPR. Major news organizations are caving to those intolerant of the free expression.

This issue is far from over, we are considering any and all options.

More to come…

Didn’t Jon Stewart tell the media “Restore Sanity” was not a response to Glenn Beck? Yes, he did.

According to what the New York Times has dug up, Jon Stewart’s “Restore Sanity” rally tomorrow looks an awful lot like a direct rebuttal and pro-active, pre-planned attempt to ridicule Glenn Beck’s late-August “Restore Honor” event (right down to the awards). If what the Times has discovered is true, it’s yet another hit on Stewart’s already embattled credibility as he has explicitly told the press that he was not planning a Beck counter-rally. Stewart’s rally airs commercial-free tomorrow on Comedy Central from noon to three ET.

Here are some details via the NYT:

An early rundown of the event, shared by the National Parks Service, which issued the permit for the event, listed a first hour dominated by musical acts (including The Roots), with Mr. Stewart and Mr. Colbert performing largely in the second hour, and more musicians (including Sheryl Crow) and a taped, fake-awards conclusion in the third hour. Other guest stars are likely to appear. One on the list is Don Novello, who played Father Guido Sarducci years ago on “Saturday Night Live.” He is expected to offer an opening comic benediction, almost surely intended as a parody of the religious-themed rally headed by Mr. Beck.

In even creepier news:

Liberal groups like Media Matters and Naral Pro-Choice America will be out in force to attract new members and even Organizing for America, President Obama’s political organization, wants to draw attendees to phone banks set up near the Mall.

Parents, are you reading this? Media Matters and Naral will be fishing the Stewart crowd looking for recruits.

Why do I picture raincoats and candy bars?

I was surfing the internet yesterday and came across an article about the current state of political comedy by Paul Waldman. The article “The Joke is on Us” was posted on the far-left website “The American Prospect.” The subtitle of the site is “liberal intelligence” which is, of course, an oxymoron. That aside, the premise of Mr. Waldman’s article is that there is a dearth of humor about Barack Obama. It reminds me of when Nixon was elected and New York Times film critic Pauline Kael being shocked because only one person she knew voted for him.

Mr. Waldman postulates that this lack of Obama material is because Obama is so cool, so intelligent, and so unflappable that he is immune to being made the butt of any jokes! He actually says, “…our current political leadership isn’t all that funny.” I assume he includes the Vice President in that statement – so apparently he and I hear different Joe Biden sound bites. I strongly doubt he has ever listened to Rush or Glen who daily skewer Obama, Reid and Pelosi.

Mr. Waldman, like Ms. Kael suffers from having a limited circle of exposure.

Before I get further into that, let me just say a big “thank you” to Mr. Waldman for reinforcing a concept that I have written about several times: Conservatives have a better sense of humor and are more willing to be self-deprecating than lefties. You see, my fellow right-wing nut jobs, in Walden World, Bush, Rush, Palin and anyone else who isn’t hastening the “Marxization” of America is a moron who should be belittled for their obvious lack of intellect. Leftist, on the other hand, never do anything foolish. All of their causes are above mocking. Let me illustrate:

Q. What do you call four feminists at a protest march?

A. That’s not funny you chauvinistic, racist right wing moron!

Anyway, Mr. Waldman claims two things that I find absolutely amazing. One is that the lack of “Obama” material the general public is exposed to isn’t the result of the ideology of the “mainstream” comics. He says:

There was an assumption that since they’re a bunch of liberals, the comedians wouldn’t go after Obama. But if comedy has an Obama problem, it doesn’t have much to do with ideology. The guy is just difficult to mock.

Can anyone name a major mainstream comic beside Dennis Miller who is conservative? How about a late night talk show host? Letterman? Leno? Fallon? Kimmel? Mr. Waldman points to Jon Stewart for doing a credible job of taking on Obama. When Stewart does take a jab at the President it is usually because Obama for not being ”progressive” enough! In Waldman World the only thing about Obama that’s funny is that he is such a centrist!

The second is that he doesn’t see any way to mock the President:

Politicians who make good targets for humor tend to have a personality feature or physical characteristic, like a particular accent or a distinctive set of gestures that are easily identifiable and thus can be exaggerated to make the politician look foolish, because exaggeration is what impressions and satire are built on.

Alright, you knuckle-dragging, mouth breathing right wingers; here is a quick comedy quiz. I know that none of you are as smart as Mr. Waldman, after all he works over at Soros’ funded Media Matters, but let’s see if you can name a physical trait of Mr. Obama’s we could mock. Anyone say “ears?” Those Dumbo-sized, suicide-door lookin’ Prince Charles mud flaps. Oh my! I said “mud” in a sentence referring to the President, that’s not funny! I must be a racist!

Now let’s turn our attention to personality features. “Arrogance” ring a bell, Mr. Waldman? How about stammering when off prompter? How about being oblivious to the economy while your wife spends millions on a vacation in Spain? How about trying to convince the American public that the cost of two first class tickets covers the cost of that vacation? In comedy this type of humor is known as “true story,” just the facts as they happened are funny.

Finally, Mr. Waldman asks:

“But what’s the joke about Obama?”

With the help of a few comic friends, I will give Mr. Waldman some samples which I am sure he won’t find funny. Feel free to add your own in the comments:

“What is the difference between Osama Bin Laden and Barack Hussein Obama? One is an anti-capitalist who hates America and wants to destroy Israel, and the other is hiding in Afghanistan.” –Mark Klein

“All during his campaign, Obama’s claim to fame was that he was a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago. I was just on the South Side of Chicago – it ain’t too organized.” –Drew Hastings

“The new Obama economy game show: “American Idle.” –Sam Griesbaum

“If we could harness the wind generated by Obama’s ears and mouth we would have energy independence!” –Jeff Jena

“People were once comparing him (Obama) to Jesus Christ. On the economy he seems more like Moses; wandering around aimlessly, blaming everything on the Bush.” –Tim Slagle

“If you cast a ballot for Barack Obama are you voting Democrat or Demigod?” –Gregory Peterson

“He is called ‘Vice President Biden’ because the phrase “hot air balloon” was already taken.” –Mark Klein

“Obama inspired class envy: The original green job.” –Sam Griesbaum

Q. Why is Barack Obama running for office as a Democrat?
A. The Communist Party didn’t have enough voters. –Author Unknown

“In reaction to Iran launching a new missile and starting a nuclear reactor, President Obama is going to ratchet up the pressure. This time he is sending them a very strongly worded letter.” –Jeff Jena

Obama puts the “dip” in Diplomacy. –Sam Griesbaum
