Morgan Freeman wants the President to be as “pissed off” as he is.

That’s an interesting comment coming from one of America’s best actors.

Morgan is a craftsman’s craftsman. I believe he represents the best of classic American acting since Henry Fonda. With similar aesthetics and discipline, both he and Henry Fonda have shown young American actors how to do “more with less” but do it with sharpshooting accuracy.

 I can honestly say that I’ve never seen him give a bad performance. Either on stage or in film.

I, along with the hundreds of others less disciplined, certainly wish we could say that for ourselves.

Morgan seems to be congenitally incapable of substandard work. Plus he carries what Fonda carried and what the great English director, Sir Tyrone Guthrie said was the rarest gift among actors: “nobility”.

Morgan and I once discussed, briefly I must add, getting “pissed off”. It was in relation to why Morgan hasn’t performed Othello in a big venue. He generally indicated that the rage within Othello was out of his reach.

Hmmm …

Now, I know he doesn’t want Barack Obama to be tearing the Presidential seal to tatters as Laurence Olivier might be prone to, but Morgan does want the President “pissed off”.

So, in last Wednesday’s New York Times, Channing Joseph wrote a glowing piece on a community center for communists – a place called Brecht Forum, where, “Smiles abound.”

And when I mean a glowing piece, I mean, really glowing. Like a pregnant lady holding a nightlight made of kryptonite.

On the sun.

Anyway, Joseph describes these “revolutionaries” playing foosball, table tennis and even Marxist Monopoly.

Basically it’s a “Dave and Busters” built on mass graves.

I know, small fact: Communists killed like 50 million people.

But, as Joseph shows: it doesn’t mean its desciples can’t have a little fun!

And despite existing only to gloss over the horrors of a wicked ideology, it is a “surprisingly open and idealistic place.”

And – they play poker!

Now, I often judge writing not simply on an author’s clumsy biases – but what I call “barf” moments. These are moments that occur, while reading- in which you actually throw up. (more…)

What the hell is going on in this great country of ours?

First, let me say I am sick and tired of The Left destroying the values this country was built on. And not being held accountable! I see the attacks made daily and most are oblivious. If your child was drowning would you just sit there and sip a mint julep? We are all fiddling as our country is being capsized. Like on the Titanic, the quintet keeps playing as the ship sinks.

We are a generation that has been psycho-babbled into oblivion. We accept and make excuses for behavior that should not be tolerated. When I was growing up in my fathers house, if I did not obey my parent’s rules I would have been asked to leave. Today, we all go to group therapy and discuss how we can make a compromise and before you know it the parents are the ones who are asked to leave.

My family were immigrants. My grandparents came from Italy. Did you know that the most lynchings in American history were done to Italian immigrants? Did you know that Italian immigrants were treated like dirt? That we were shunned, spit on, killed, whipped, and treated like animals? We were called “guineas, wops, dagos.” It was thought that all Italians were criminals, part of the mafia. All because our names ended in a vowel and we had darker skin. (more…)
