As Budget Battles Rage, ‘Generation Zero’ More Relevant Than Ever

by David Bossie

The current economic crisis is not a failure of capitalism, but a failure of culture. Citizens United Productions’ film Generation Zero explores the cultural roots of the global financial meltdown – beginning with the narcissism of the 1960s which spread like a virus through the self-indulgent ’90s and exploded across the world in the present economic cataclysm.

Brought to you by award-winning writer and director Stephen Bannon, Generation Zero is the first film in the “Tea Party Trilogy,” which also includes Fire from the Heartland and Battle for America.  Featuring financial and cultural experts, authors, and pundits, including Lou Dobbs, Lawrence Kudlow, Tobin Smith, Victor Davis Hanson, Shelby Steele, Charles Krauthammer, Dick Morris, and Newt Gingrich, Generation Zero exposes the untold story of how the mindset of the Baby Boomers sowed the seeds of economic disaster that will be reaped by coming generations. Sean Hannity did an exclusive one hour special on Generation Zero, and the documentary has received extensive media acclaim. (more…)

Stephen Bannon’s Tea Party Trilogy Concludes With ‘Battle For America’

by Hollywoodland

Politico:

It’s not the Star Wars trilogy, but writer and director Stephen Bannon’s trying for something epic: his latest film, “Battle for America,” which chronicles the tea party movement, is the third in a trilogy that Bannon believes weaves a narrative about a burgeoning conservative movement. Bannon’s hoping that by paying attention to detail and aiming high, conservative documentaries might finally compete with more successful films on the liberal side of the spectrum.

“You’ve always seen mass movements on the left,” Bannon told POLITICO. “What intrigued me was what caused this mass movement on the right.” Bannon admits that “Battle” is “a very partisan film,” but says that “it’s aimed at independents and Reagan Democrats who can actually step back and think about what the stakes are.” (The other two films in the trilogy are “Generation Zero,” which focuses on the financial crisis, and “Fire from the Heartland,” which looks at leading conservative women).

Such conservative notables as Ann Coulter, Newt Gingrich, Lou Dobbs, Fred Barnes, Sen. Kit Bond, Sen. Tom Coburn and Rep. Thaddeus McCotter make cameos in “Battle.” But Dick Morris, current Republican campaign surrogate, is the default star of the film.  (more…)

Muzzling CNN’s Lou Dobbs

by Brian Jennings

It seems the whacked out left just can’t stand to see their comrades at CNN continue to air the Lou Dobbs show.  They were glad to see Glenn Beck move over to the dark side on the Fox News Channel and now they would like to see CNN can Lou Dobbs.  Here’s the story in brief.

Dobbs got under the skin of liberals when he challenged them on illegal immigration.  The voicebox of the left, Media Matters for America, challenged Dobbs claiming he spent an inordinate amount of time on the illegal immigration issue and the debate over the failed amnesty bill of 2007.  Dobbs simply asked hard questions and was labeled a racist passing along “myths” for his efforts.  In one memorable television segment, Dobbs skillfully defended himself telling MM’s Paul Waldman on the air, “Your report is a scurrilous attack, and you pretend it has some scholarly basis.  It is an absolute pitiful joke.” (more…)

Fix CNBC?

by Dan Gifford

Every time I have started to write a follow-up to last week’s piece about the evolving Jon Stewart, Rick Santelli, Jim Cramer CNBC massacre, new information that altered the narrative slid in over the transom. The newest part of that story comes from a self described progressive (leftist) group called “Fix CNBC” which has seized on Stewart’s gold standard sophomoric schlock attacks to publicly call for CNBC to start being Wall Street’s watch dog instead of its public relations puppy. That ain’t likely to happen and some personal disclosure of my own a bit later will illustrate why. (more…)

Talk Radio = Hate Speech?

by Brian Jennings

I have been accused of promoting hate speech more than once as a talk radio programmer.  In fact, I’ve been accused of it for over 25 years.  Who defines hate speech?  Many who accuse talk radio of promoting hate want the FCC to regulate it.  To suggest regulation suggests censorship.  As Voltaire said:  “I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

In researching my book “Censorship: The Threat to Silence Talk Radio,” to be published May 5th by Simon & Schuster, I used excerpts of what some groups claim is hate speech.  So, I throw this out for discussion.  Is the following excerpt taken from the “Michael Savage Show” hateful?  In the general context of on-going terrorism, beheadings, car-bombings, and other atrocities by radical Islamists, Savage exploded on October 29, 2007.  In challenging Muslims to demonstrate their religion is one of peace, Savage issued these words: (more…)
