Jon Stewart Hammers Ed Schultz’s Race-Baiting Deceptive Edit

by Hollywoodland

—–

This NBC News deceptive edit had just started to take off in the left-wing mainstream media when Breitbart.TV’s Editor-in-Chief Larry O’Connor revealed the full context of the quote and stopped the smear in its tracks.

By the way, jobless claims are up this week to 408,000, and a concerned President Obama has just interrupted his vacation to release this statement from Martha’s Vineyard…

Janine Turner: Radio Host, Actress, Patriot and Broadway Belter

by Larry O'Connor

I had the pleasure of interviewing the beautiful and talented Janine Turner last night on my radio program, The Stage Right Show. Her enthusiasm and sincerity is infectious and is evident from her very first “howdy” greeting to my listeners.

Her knowledge of the founding fathers, the national debt problems and the current state of the elite media led her to a new career as a radio talk show host.  Her new show, “The Janine Turner Show”, will stream live here at Big Hollywood at 11:00 PM ET.

Enjoy this glimpse of Janine as we discuss her show, her enthusiasm for the work done by Andrew Breitbart and the crew here at Big Hollywood.  I even get her to sing a verse from her favorite Broadway musical,  “1776″:

CPAC 2011: ‘Getting Started in Hollywood’ Panel

by John Nolte

One person who not only understands the importance of popular culture in our society but who is also doing something about it is Kevin McKeever, Chairman and CEO of Bank of Kev Productions, an industry veteran who sponsored a CPAC 2011 event titled “Getting Started in Hollywood.” Kevin was gracious enough ask me to join him, our own Larry O’Connor and Lisa Mei Norton of Big Dawg Music Mafia for a CPAC panel today, a two-hour question and answer session in a room packed with conservatives of all stripes ready and willing to enter the business of show and looking for advice and guidance.

I’m not sure how much I was able to help but I was sure impressed by the questions and the people asking them. No bitterness, no complaining, no excuse-making. They weren’t there to hear how bad it is for conservatives in the entertainment business or to make excuses for why they haven’t sold a script yet. They were there as conservative actors, writers, filmmakers and musicians for advice on how to succeed and move forward in a very tough business. Between O’Connor’s good humor and experience in theatre and McKeever’s production background, the main message was pretty clear: be an artist first, learn your craft, make contacts and keep your politics to yourself. Be a sleeper agent of sorts. After you’ve made a career for yourself, then go ahead and create that personal projects that reflect your worldview.

Out of all of us, though, Lisa Mei Norton of Big Dawg Music Mafia is probably the most important example for conservatives eager to enter the arts. Rather than wait around for Hollywood to have some kind of moral awakening to their ideological totalitarianism, she went ahead and started her own company to give conservative musicians an outlet to publicize their work. That’s what I like to see, a self-starting workaround that defines who and what conservatism is all about. Please visit her site and if you’re a musician looking for support, you might want to reach out.

The Best of ‘The Stage Right Show’ – 3/21 – 3/26

by Larry O'Connor

Stage Banner NEW

ObamaCare and ACORN dominated the subject this past week with guests Mike Flynn, Adam Baldwin, Andrew Breitbart, Kurt Schlichter, Jeremy Boering and Patrick (Patterico) Frey chiming in.

This week’s highlight show also features my repeal strategy for the Republicans, Patterico’s definitive debunking of the lies from the left regarding James O’Keefe’s wardrobe in the ACORN videos, Breitbart’s explanation of his bubble bath photo in Time Magazine, Flynn’s rallying cry for all frustrated Americans and Baldwin handling a very hostile caller with class and grace. The Best of ‘The Stage Right Show’: Feb 8 – Feb 12

by Larry O'Connor

On this week’s highlight show (listen in below the fold), we start with John Nolte talking about the incredible back-and-forth he had this week with Roger Ebert over his semi-coherent Twitter ramblings.

We also have an interview with Andrew Breitbart and Adam Baldwin on location in a bar in Hollywood.  They speak about the current political climate and how Big Hollywood is moving the conversation forward and motivating the tea party movement.

Internet sensation Demon Sheep joined us on Wednesday and provided a lot of laughs.  Big Hollywood contributor Gary Graham also joined us and discussed life in Hollywood as a conservative as well as his recent mission to Haiti.

Finally, Big Hollywood’s Patrick Courrielche was our guest for a thorough interview on the NEA conference call story as well as his life and career before the story broke last year. (more…)

Presenting: The Best of ‘The Stage Right Show’

by John Nolte

Those of you who have been with Big Hollywood from the beginning know that Stage — Larry O’Connor — Right has been with us from the beginning, as well. He started out as our “theatre guy” and has since branched out as an invaluable go-to guy at all three of the BIGS, writing on everything from The Madness of Howard Zinn to exposing how nepotism can help you to become The Most Dishonest Character Assassin IN THE WORLD!

SR

Larry also does a nightly talk show on Blog Talk Radio, and while it’s on past my bedtime (9pm PST), after listening to the podcasts over the past few weeks I realized that “The Stage Right Show” is very much a part of the BIGS — so much so that we’re leaning on him to change the title to “The Big Stage Big Right Big Show.” Over the weekend I also leaned on him to do even more work and put together a weekly “Best of” show to post here at Big Hollywood for the benefit of our readers.

He’s agreed to take that on, and I thank him for that. (more…)

Best of ‘The Stage Right Show’: Feb 1 – Feb 5

by Larry O'Connor

On this week’s highlight show, we start with the hilarious”feud” between Andrew Breitbart and “TV’s Andy Levy” from Fox News’ “Red Eye” that began on Twitter and ended up on “The Stage Right Show.” They were arguing about Ben Shapiro’s Top Ten Most Over Rated Directors list which drove Andy Levy over the edge.

BestofWeek2_5_10

Next, we had Ben Shapiro on the show to respond.  Also, Billy Hallowell came on to discuss the habit the left has of screaming “Racist” at any conservative they don’t like and to tell us about his last post at Big Hollywood about ‘Rock the Vote’.

Andrew Breitbart called in with a very unique anecdote about his travails in renting a car in Palm Springs.  And Adam Baldwin was our featured interview in a wide-ranging discussion about Hollywood, politics, education and Twitter. (more…)

Thank You, John Nolte

by Andrew Breitbart

I was a bad boy in 2009. I promised at the beginning of the year at the time of Big Hollywood’s launch to get back into movies and some television. But it’s one year later, and I still have not seen a single episode of The Sopranos (even though I know I’d like it). I wasn’t much better on the film front either. I went to maybe 6 movies in the theater last year, and the same 3 DVD’s from NetFlix sat in our house for the entire year, only to be finally returned and unwatched.

How about that Bruno!

That doesn’t mean I completely tuned out – thanks to Big Hollywood.

On the one year anniversary of the site, I thank God that I chose John Nolte to be the editor in chief. It’s not just because he knows everything about film – though he does. It’s because the man has an impeccable moral compass, and it’s unbelievably refreshing to read his analysis of pop culture not through the typical NY TIMES/VARIETY/VANITY FAIR post-modern prism but through the ancient lens of right vs. wrong, decency vs. indecency, entertainment vs. nihilism.

And it has resonated. Everywhere I go in Los Angeles — and beyond — people come up to me and congratulate me for… well, hiring him. He’s the heart and soul of Big Hollywood.

On this first anniversary, I’d also like to thank from the bottom of my heart our contributors and readers. I am deeply grateful for each and every one of you.

A special thanks to Patrick Courrielche for his Pulitzer Prize Winning* (if Pulitzers were still awarded for great journalism) expose of the NEA/White House propaganda initiative. And a special acknowledgment to Stage Right, who came out as Larry O’Connor. I hope there are more who follow his lead.

And a last, but certainly not least, thanks to Alex Marlow, who is Mr. Big. He is the man juggling all the Bigs at all times. (more…)
