Daniel Craig Gives Fellow Stars a Lesson in Privacy

by Hollywoodland

Current Bond actor Daniel Craig shook headlines this week by blasting the Kardashian Klan in a GQ magazine interview.

Easy targets, to be sure, but Craig’s comments quick went viral. In that same publication Craig also stirring up something far more important than any reality show clan, but it didn’t get the attention it deserved.

Daniel Craig

The star of “Cowboys & Aliens” talked about the line stars walk when intersecting with the public:

Craig. 43, made the remarks as he opened up about his marriage to Rachel Weisz last June, which the two kept under wraps.

“I think there’s a lot to be said for keeping your own counsel,” he told the magazine.

“It’s not about being afraid to be public with your emotions or about who you are and what you stand for. But if you sell it off it’s gone. You can’t buy it back – you can’t buy your privacy back.

“‘Ooh I want to be alone.’ F*** you!” he said vehemently.

The subject reminds us of two movie stars who excel at keeping their private lives private.

Can We Judge Olivia Wilde for Judging Us for Judging Kim Kardashian’s Quickie Marriage?

by Hollywoodland

Leave Kim Kardashian alone!

Celebrities make strange bedfellows, and rising starlet Olivia Wilde may be one of the few souls rushing to defend Kim Kardashian after the reality star’s blink-and-you-missed-it marriage.

olivia Wilde

Wilde, recently divorced herself, tried to shush the commoners from being too critical of Kardashian’s 72-day marriage.

The “Butter” star, who finalized her own high-profile divorce from Italian aristo Tao Ruspoli last month, told us at a Standard Hotel after-party for “Another Happy Day,” “I empathize. It’s not easy. It’s the hardest thing in the world. People judge you because divorce is seen as failure. [Kim] took a risk. No one should be attacking her. Our attention should be focused on things that are truly scandalous.”

Hmmm. Wilde’s marriage, while not the “Happily Ever After” variety, did last for eight years. That’s an eternity in Hollywood. The bigger question is, why can’t we judge a woman who treats the institution of marriage like another insipid reality show plot?

Kim Kardashian and the Celebrity Marriage Disaster

by Lauren Veneziani

Celebrities and divorce: always a trending topic on Twitter and always a weekly news story.

From the recent split between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries to Ashton Kutcher’s alleged affair(s), it’s almost expected most celebs will call it quits after a few years. But why?

Glam or Sham?

Do their jobs keep them from spending time together? Is it jealousy of success in one’s career? Does someone else come along? Is there major money involved after filing for divorce? Or do the fantasy elements of their jobs keep them from making the right decisions at perhaps the most important times in their lives?

Marriage isn’t just a relationship; it’s an oath you take in front of God that you love this person and want to be with them forever. The fact that Kim K said this oath in August and is now filing for divorce makes me and many other conservatives sick. Okay, Kim, you didn’t want to marry the guy? Then don’t! Don’t listen to your PR person, your agent or the E! Network when it comes to the matter of marriage. Now you are a 30-year-old who has been divorced twice, so if this was a PR stunt (which I suspect many people think it is), it was the worst possible thing you could do for your image.

And believe it or not, I was a fan of Kardashian. She had a pretty rocky start with the whole sex tape thing and the fact that her father, the late Robert Kardashian, got a lot of hate for defending the disgusting O.J. Simpson. Now, she has made herself millions through branding her name, the success of her family’s reality show, endorsing products, and recently launching the Kardashian Kollection at Sears with fellow sisters Kourtney and Khloe. You may not like her personality, but she’s a darn good businesswoman. (more…)

Gay Teen Sex Episode of ‘Glee’ Comin’ Atcha!

by Hollywoodland

Fox’s musical comedy “Glee” dropped in the ratings – again – earlier this week. But one suspects a ratings jump is only one steamy plot point away.

The hit show has something special up its sleeve for next Tuesday’s new installment, according to a breathless post at Entertainment Weekly’s PopWatch blog.

Glee

“The First Time.” It’s without a doubt one of Glee‘s best installments ever and features two popular couples on the show having sex for the first time.

Morning Call Sheet: Kim Kardashian’s Genius, ‘Fall Guy’ Remake, ‘Kung Fu’ Remake, ‘Logan’s Run’ Remake…

UNINTENTIONALLY FUNNY LINE OF THE DAY

MTV:

The world is still reeling from the news that Kim Kardashian has decided to end her 72-day-long marriage to Kris Humphries.

The entertainment media got taken in a big way with this marriage and I salute Kim Kardashian for taking them. She leveraged the celebrity she gained for, uhm, being a celebrity brilliantly:

She raked in $100,000 when she sold cute photos of her and Kris vacationing in Mexico. She made $15 million from E! for her two-part wedding special and another $3 million off wedding photos,” In Touch Weekly senior editor Dorothy Cascerceri told Fox411. “She could easily sell her first post-divorce interview for a half a million dollars or more.”

No, MTV, the world isn’t reeling, just your shallow, empty world. The rest of us are simply passing by for a quick chuckle.

JAMES GARNER’S ‘THE GARNER FILES’ HITS BOOKSHELVES TODAY

From Bret Maverick and Jim Rockford on TV — his two signature roles — to The Great Escape’s Hendley The Scrounger and The Americanization of Emily’s Charlie Madison, the hustler on the big screen, Garner has personified what he describes as “the reluctant hero.” He’s cool and calm on the outside, but deep down he’s a good-hearted maverick. When pushed, he will shove back. He’s particularly wary of bullies and bigots, and proudly recalls attending the March on Washington in the summer of 1963, and to this day remains “a bleeding-heart liberal.”

Just ordered this from Amazon. Garner is one of my all-time favorite actors (wallpaper proof), is far and away my favorite television actor, and you don’t ever want to get me started about my undying love for “The Rockford Files,” the best hour-long television series ever produced.

‘Occupy Hollywood’ – The Left Begins to Eat Itself

by Kurt Schlichter

You’re not a conservative if Kim Kardashian making millions for being a half-witted, no-talent reality TV star bothers you. In fact, if you feel “there oughta be a law” somehow regulating, limiting or otherwise controlling in any manner at all how much dough she rakes in from the drooling morons who choose to fling it at her, you are part of the problem.

This woman took very, very little in the way of ability and somehow provided a service – of a kind that frankly baffles me – that millions of people nevertheless want to spend their money on. Regardless, it’s none of your or my business, and it’s especially none of the government’s business.

But now, here comes “Occupy Hollywood,” a hilarious exercise in poetic justice in which the left proposes to chase its own tail by attacking the same cretinous celebrities who have been the first to parrot every commie slogan the bongo-playing degenerates of Occupy Wall Street have misspelled on their placards.

Jo Piazza, the author of some remainder bin perennial titled Celebrity, Inc.: How Famous People Make Money, is leading the bite-the-hand-that-feeds-you-athon with an article in The Huffington Post called “Occupy Hollywood: Why It’s Time To Call Out High-Earning Celebrities.”

For some reason, she thinks what movie stars make is some sort of problem:

Kim Kardashian Tweets Wrong Dates for L.A. Highway Closure to Eight Million Followers, But I Blame the Mayor

by Alexander Marlow

One news item that was mostly lost in the holiday weekend shuffle was that the Los Angeles Police Department has solicited celebrities to use twitter to spread the word about the closure of a prominent freeway.  The story was already pretty funny, then Kim Kardashian tweeted the wrong information… twiceFrom Fox News:

What did California law enforcement expect when they enlisted celebrities to help warn the public of the impending closure of a major freeway?

Probably not this.

Kim Kardashian, one of several celebrities with Twitter followings in the millions, was asked by the L.A.P.D to warn her followers of the impending highway closure.

Kardashian complied, tweeting on Friday: “Remember this weekend the 405 Fwy is gonna be closed between the San Fernando Valley and the West Side!!”

Just one problem. The closure is in two weeks.

So the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star tried to correct her mistake, tweeting: “Remember next weekend the 405 Fwy is gonna be closed between the San Fernando Valley and the West Side!!”

Wrong again.

Kardashian erased both initial Twitter messages and finally got it right: “Stay away from the 405 Fwy the weekend of July 16 & 17, it will be closed btwn the 10 Fwy and 101 Fwy North & South!”

Oh. My. Gawd.

My data isn’t fresh on this, but there was a time not long ago where the stretch of 405 freeway between the 10 and 101 was the single most trafficked road in the United States.  Shutting that down for a couple of days is like blocking off L.A.’s pulmonary artery; it just can’t function without it.  So, if the city is going to try to temporarily block it off, they can’t afford any mistakes. Piers Morgan vs. Sean Hannity: Celeb Elitism Loses to Conservatism

by AWR Hawkins

When Piers Morgan was chosen to succeed Larry King at CNN, liberals believed his (overplayed) British persona might finally be the ticket to cutting into Sean Hannity’s domination of the same time-slot at Fox News.  After all, Morgan is a man of the world with all the open-mindedness mainline liberalism can promise while Hannity is a man of this nation who’s not ashamed to be mentioned in the same sentence with close-minded “bigots” like Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin.

Looking at things on paper, it appeared it wouldn’t be long before Hannity would be forced to come begging and pleading for a menial position on Morgan’s staff.

But a funny thing happened on the way to the actual squaring off of Morgan’s show with Hannity’s: namely, Morgan’s guest lineup betrayed the fact that he believes the American people want to spend another hour of their night watching Hollywood elites get tossed softball questions by a host who’s consumed with reminding us he came here from across the pond.

In other words, to date, Morgan’s plan to beat Hannity includes interviews with Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, and Kim Kardashian, among others. When we consider the fact that Hannity’s offerings have included salt-of-the-earth folks like Sarah Palin and down to earth commentary from the ever-present “Great American Panel,” it’s little wonder that Morgan is getting shellacked in the ratings. (Yes, Morgan is beating MSBNC’s Rachel Maddow, but that’s no feat.) (more…)

Daily Gut: Hey PETA, This Is How to Hold a Kitten

by Greg Gutfeld

This week, Kim Kardashian became the butt of criticism over a picture she posted of herself holding a cat, on Twitter. Apparently the oversized peach on stilts grabbed the cat by the scruff of its neck, and this raised concern that she might be hurting the pet.

Here’s the deeply offensive picture:

kim k cat

I know. Sickens you, doesn’t it? Of course PETA, weighed in:

Kim Kardashian isn’t the only person who mistakenly thinks that because a mother cat picks up her kittens by the scruff of the neck that a supportive hand under the rump isn’t needed.

Right. However, the other animal group, SPCA says the hold is pretty much fine – and that’s where I get all my advice when I potty-trained Bill. (more…)

Why Are We Keeping Up With the Kardashians?

by Ellen Karis

The first time I ever heard of the name Kardashian was in June of 1994 after the famous O.J. car chase. Robert Kardashian publicly read a letter written by O.J., which sparked off the beginning of one of the biggest media circus’ in American history. Kardashian became part of the “dream team” that allowed O.J. to walk free, although in Al Capone style, eventually end up in jail for a crime completely unrelated to the murders he committed. What I distinctly remember was that Kardashian was the man seen carrying Simpson’s garment bag the day Simpson flew back from Chicago. It was speculated that the bag may have contained Simpson’s bloody clothes and/or the murder weapon; however, by the time the bag was returned to the prosecutors, mysteriously, there was nothing incriminating.

A few years ago the Kardashian name cropped up again (Robert had passed in 2003). However, this time, the spotlight was on one of his four children, Kim, an attractive, petite, Armenian looking woman, who was part of the Hilton sisters’ crowd. The next thing I know there is a show on E! about the whole clan which includes Kim, her sisters Khloe and Kourtney, her brother Robert Jr. and her half-sisters who are in their early teens, Kylie and Kendall. The parents, and I use the term loosely, are Kris Jenner, who divorced Robert Sr. in 1989, and Bruce Jenner, a gold medal Olympic winner and an integral part of American sports history. Does this sound even remotely interesting? Well, if you said “no,” you are probably in the majority. However, if you said “yes,” you are in luck because they are on their fourth show in two years.
