Lonewolf Diaries: Do ‘The Jews’ Run Hollywood?

by Steven Crowder

Firstly let me say, that I love Ben Shapiro. For those who don’t know, Ben is a fellow Big Hollywood contributor, a good friend… And very Jewish. Having worked my whole life with Jews who seemed content with perpetuating the negative “Liberal Hollywood elite” stereotype, I noticed that Ben was extremely different. What is it that separates too many tinseltown Hebrews from their supposed brethren in faith?

aaaaaaa

For years, anti-Semites have used the argument that “the Jews run Hollywood.” After all, Hollywood is a cesspool of immorality, dishonesty and the mistreatment of your fellow man, so pinning the blame on the entire Jewish people would seem like an airtight case to those with deep-rooted disdain for the people (Jimmy Carter, take notes). The problem is that a lot of people don’t realize that Hollywood-centric Jews (like say, the Weinstein brothers) have very little, if anything in common with their practicing Jewish brothers and sisters. Don’t believe me? Oh, you are so gentile. Let’s take a gander at a few of the major issues. (more…)

Jews and Guns

by Robert J. Avrech

An Ethiopian Jewish woman soldier takes aim. Both men and women serve in the Israeli Defense Forces. Thus, there is a weapon in almost every Israeli home.

Before our son Ariel Chaim ZT”L passed away, age twenty-two, in 2003, we spent a good deal of time discussing the Second Amendment, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Ariel was amazed that so many American Jews—overwhelmingly liberal and secular—aligned themselves with the advocates of gun control, in reality a movement to banish the private ownership of guns by lawful citizens.

Daily Gut: PC Hollywood Villains

by Greg Gutfeld

So another Rambo flick is on its grimy, sweaty way and this time the villains are human traffickers and drug lords. To make them even more despicable, they’ve kidnapped a young girl and are probably ignoring her strict vegan needs.

Look, I applaud Sylvester Stallone’s heroic stance against human traffickers and kidnappers – for I know there will be quite an outcry especially from the large and very influential human trafficking and kidnapper lobby.

Of course, this movie comes on the heels of two other edgy ventures: The G.I Joe flick – which turned a gritty American icon into an airbrushed Benneton ad, and “Inglourious Basterds” a fantasy that has average Jews hacking Nazi soldiers to pieces.

These three movies have two things in common:
1) They avoid present, real danger in the world and instead choose villains that are not just safe, but politically correct to hate. You’d think it would be easy for Quentin Tarantino to find a present day enemy for the Jews (like, say, a terrorist group that denies the Holocaust and wants to wipe Israel off the map), but maybe none exist! And what of those guys who flew planes into the World Trade Center? I suppose in the era of the “unclenched fist,” we must be more sensitive to “backlash” than barbarism. (more…)

Daily Gut: I Blame the Jews

by Greg Gutfeld

So on some recent radio show hosted by the Rev. Al Sharpton, a male caller phoned in with a theory about Michael Jackson’s death. Turns out he didn’t kill himself using a panoply of pharmaceuticals. It was all Sarah Palin’s doing.

Yep, according to the caller, “maybe she did something to Michael Jackson,” and “maybe she’s stepping down because something’s about to come out.”

Now, crazy people calling into radio shows isn’t anything special – I used to call Loveline ten to twenty times a night just to complain about the pixies living in my urinary tract. However, what’s hilarious, is Sharpton’s thoughtful response to the caller’s intriguing theory. He says, “All right, thank you for your call, Ashley. That’s interesting. I’ll put it out, we’ll see. I don’t know.”

“I’ll put it out. We’ll see. I don’t know.”

Nice. (more…)

The Man Who Would Be God

by Burt Prelutsky

A while back, I heard Obama bragging about his first few months in the White House.  When he claimed he had done as much in that period as any president in history, my initial thought was for the first time in his life he was being modest.  Frankly, I think he’s done more, much more, and I only wish that some of it had been good for America.

He’s taken over car companies, banks and lending institutions.  He’s printed so much currency that he’s the envy of counterfeiters and con men everywhere.  He’s buried the nation in so much debt that children born 40 years down the road will be greeted with a slap on the butt and a lien on future earnings.  For good measure, the Community Organizer in Chief has created more czars than the Romanovs. (more…)

Savage’s Badge of Honor

by Ben Shapiro

The British government’s decision to ban Michael Savage from entering the UK based on his political viewpoint and opposition to the global domination of Islamic shariah law puts Savage in the same company as Winston Churchill, and Prime Minister Gordon Brown in the same company as Neville Chamberlain.  Savage, the recipient of the Talkers Magazine 2007 Freedom of Speech Award (Al Franken is a former winner), is an ardent advocate for liberty and freedom and the leading opponent of global Islamofascism.

During the 1930s, Neville Chamberlain pursued a policy of appeasement that brought Europe to its knees before Adolf Hitler.  Even as Hitler planned his domination of the globe, the British Broadcasting Company banned Winston Churchill, Hitler’s leading political opponent, from the radio.  Even after the beginning of World War II, the BBC censored Churchill, considering him too inflammatory in his description of the Germans. Hollywood’s Second Class Jewish Chicks & “Two Lovers”

by Debbie Schlussel

Why is it that on the silver screen, the Jewish chick is always the undesirable one, the safe choice, the ugly/annoying one?  Even women who are Jewish (or half) in real life play the “desirable gentile goddess” while the Jewish woman character is the second fiddle.  It might have something to do with the self-hatred of many male Jews in Hollywood for whom the Jewish woman is exactly that stereotype; besides, many of them need to justify marrying outside of the faith.  Or maybe it’s just the self-hatred.

I ask this because in “Two Lovers,” which hit nationwide release this week, Joaquin Phoenix plays a Jewish guy whose parents want him to date (and marry) the beautiful Jewish daughter (Vinessa Shaw), of the couple who are buying their business.  But, instead, he prefers the hot blonde gentile woman (played by the half-Jewish Gwyneth Paltrow) who doesn’t want him.  The Jewish woman as the safe, not-as-sexy-or-hot choice is nothing new in Hollywood.  We’ve seen it in sooo many TV shows and flicks, like the 1972 incarnation of “The Heartbreak Kid” in which Elliott Gould Charles Grodin dumps the homely Jewish stereotype-ette for the hot (at that time) Cybill Shepherd. Confessions of a Recovering Anti-Semite

by Charles Winecoff

Whenever someone asks me if I’m religious, I always say I’m Jewish by osmosis.  Back in Manhattan, my mother was known to order in Chinese food seven nights a week - even for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.  For an Anglo-centric WASP worshipper who idolized Jackie O, she was very Mama Rose.

But there was always that awkward moment when she had to give the Chinese restaurant our name over the phone: “Winecoff.  W-I-N-E-C-O-F-F.  And it’s not Jewish.”

Orson Welles “The Stranger”

People usually just assumed we were Jewish.  Sometimes they even refused to believe it when we said we weren’t – “Oh, come on.  You’re kidding, right?” – which made me mad.  But this was New York City, and we were surrounded, outnumbered.

We were supposed to be Episcopalian – or as my mom occasionally put it, Protestant.  I had no idea what that meant.  We never “protested” anything.  We never took communion at the landmark church we went to now and then.  My mother, who was really more of a frustrated pagan, thought the symbolic eating the body/drinking the blood of Christ was akin to cannibalism.
