HOW ‘LIFE ON MARS’ LOST MY WIFE IN UNDER THREE EPISODES

Yesterday morning my pretty wife told me about this new television series she had just discovered on Netflix Streaming. “Life On Mars” was cancelled after 17 episodes, but because we’re both big fans of actors Harvey Keitel and Michael Imperioli, she decided to give it a go and was hooked after only two episodes.

That evening she was into episode three and as I walked through the room I heard the protagonist take a not-so veiled shot at Bush and the Iraq War. Some nonsense about how we get into wars on false pretenses.

It was gratuitous, heavy-handed, sanctimonious and a full-blown sucker punch.

Without missing a beat my wife picked up the remote, shut the show off, and streamed an episode of “Wagon Train.”

Dick move, Hollywood. We have choices now.

Grow up or die.

‘TOWER HEIST’ ARRIVES ON DVD FEB 21

Am I the only one surprised this wasn’t a hit? Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing it on DVD. Here’s some info on the special features:

Bonus features that appear on the both the Blu-ray™ and DVD versions include:

Two Alternate Endings – not seen in theatres! Hilarious Deleted & Alternate Scenes. Gag Reel.

Plotting Tower Heist—Following the structure of a classic caper movie in three acts, director Brett Ratner, producer Brian Grazer and the entire cast bring this heist film to a whole new level. Viewers will learn how the project started, as well as meet the screenwriters and cast. This exclusive feature reveals the secrets of the set design, special effects and more, including what it took to create the iconic sequence involving Steve McQueen’s car!

Feature Commentary with director Brett Ratner, editor Mark Helfrich and co-writers Ted Griffin & Jeff Nathanson

The following features are exclusive to Blu-ray™:

Tower Heist Video Diary – Director Brett Ratner takes fans through the filmmaking process with these personal video production diaries from the set.

U-Control:

Picture-in-Picture – featuring pre-visualization and storyboard comparisons of some the film’s most exciting scenes.

The Music of Tower Heist

‘SURVIVOR’ PRODUCER INTRODUCES FIRST EVER SOCIALLY INTEGRATED BIBLE APP‏

Fascinating news from a press release:

Today, producer Mark Burnett, his wife Roma Downey, Zondervan and Glo Bible have announced the release of a new mobile app—Bible 360. Combining social media, animated maps and 360 degree virtual tours, Bible360 will allow you to view and share the Bible in a dynamic new way. Using this app, you will be able to easily share verses, maps and journal entries with your friends and family through Facebook, Twitter, email, and other social media platforms. Bible360 incorporates beautiful imagery to take your reading experience to a new level.

If you remember, Burnett also produced “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.” Obviously, he’s a brilliant producer, and how nice that he’s using his talents and weight to push such a worthy project.

Roma Downey, of course, is the fetching star of “Touched by An Angel.”

INTRODUCING ‘QUESTIONABLE TREK’: WITH ANDREW PRICE AND SCOTTDS

Two gentlemen who add much to the Big Hollywood community have started this series. Please take a look. Oh, and both are wrong. It goes a little something like this:

1. Star Trek II: One of the greatest sci-films ever.

2. Star Trek VI: Marvelous story and a touching send off.

3. Star Trek IV: Hilarious, heartwarming crowd pleaser all the way around.

4. Star Trek V: Underappreciated for its development of the characters and their relationships. Some of the best moments in the film series makes up for a somewhat uneven story — that rallies considerably in the second half.

5. Star Trek: First Contact: The crew from the original series were and are big screen stars. You can’t say the same for the “Next Generation” crew, but the Borg and a superb script win the day.

Other than “Star Trek: the Motion Picture,” which is downright boring, there isn’t a single “Trek” movie I dislike. “Nemesis” and “Star Trek III” are the slowest. “Insurrection” is the dumbest. If you catch me on the right day, “Generations” would rank in the top five. This is another unfairly maligned entry. The themes at work surrounding the Nexus and the humanity given to the villain, Soran, have real depth.

Disagree? Well, maybe our friends are more in line with your misguided thinking. Have a look.

Will Sarah Palin become our next Ronald Reagan and more?

Or will she remain a female Rush Limbaugh?

I don’t think Sarah Palin has any alternative but to run in the 2012 Republican primary.

Her clearly stated analysis of “Crony Capitalism” in Iowa yesterday places her in her own, wonderfully unique territory for a Republican candidate. As the “rogue” image she has always enjoyed, targeting the Fat Cats in the Establishment on both sides of the aisle is exactly what Americans of both political persuasions have been praying for.

Challenging “Too Big To Fail” is exactly what most Americans hope for in a President.

No one, out of all the Republican candidates, has thrown down such a clear and arresting gauntlet as Sarah Palin has!

Mamma Grizzly will put the Fat Cats through a refresher course in traditionally American Economics!!

If she’s President!

As we all well know, traditional rules of the Free Market and American Democracy have been so corrupted that we can no longer recognize the United States from a foul-smelling, lawless, 1940’s and 50’s Las Vegas.

We all know Sarah Palin is not a Keynesian but she’s not a Milton Friedman Libertarian either!

That distinction automatically separates her from not only the Crony Capitalists but from Rick Perry who I do believe is a Libertarian, a la Glenn Beck, although much more cunningly veiled than Beck.

Why?

He’s running on a Republican ticket.

Before Governor Perry was willing to sign the CSHB 15, ultra-sound-before-abortion bill, he was more than willing to leave abortion and gay marriage up to the individual states.

Sarah Palin, on the other hand, is the very symbol of the Republican Party’s pro-life tradition. Her job, it would certainly seem, is to bring the Republican Party back and return it to its original, meat and potatoes American values.

Because her beliefs are not Ivy League brain surgery nor brain-twisting deceptions, I see no possible defense by the two supposed frontrunners, Romney and Perry, against her undeniably justified criticisms of Obama and her frontal assault upon the Crony Capitalists that dropped America into this disastrous combination of bank defaults, fraudulent real estate speculation and Bush/Obama debt.

As she said herself, the President must be prepared to treat not the symptoms of America’s near depression but to remedy its cause: Crony Capitalism and backroom deals between Big Business and the White House: i.e. General Electric and Barack Obama.

The New World Order and the entire Bush family.

The New World Order, however, is a much larger enemy of American freedom than even corruption within the United States. American corruption has merely opened the door wider for the New World Order of both the Bushes and the Clintons to “nudge” their way through with the ultimate “shove” of pure Marxist, Barack Obama.

The New World Order is the very Goliath that our female David will have to face and face down repeatedly. It is not going away.

With the full support of the International Communist Party, the New World Order will ultimately be Sarah Palin’s biggest challenge as President of the United States.

She will be forced to compromise, if only to allow her the time and freedom to address America’s profoundly corrupted economics.

Keeping the New World Order’s demands on a back burner will prove to be Sarah Palin’s greatest challenge.

Her diplomatic skills are what her opposition will most question.

Can Sarah Palin keep us out of World War III?

Or will she provoke a confrontation with the Progressive New World Order by refusing to cooperate?

I think a confrontation is inevitable.

However, I believe the New World Order will back down in the same way the Soviet Union finally backed down from a confrontation with Ronald Reagan.

Why?

Most of the human race knew and still knows that Ronald Reagan was right. Sarah Palin will be in the White House to remind us of just how right Reagan and Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher were. With Sarah Palin added to round out the quartet of Churchill, Thatcher, Reagan and Palin?

The English-Speaking World Will Then Stand On The Legs of Four Major Memories!

The human family will have the role models needed to survive!!

America has two choices if Sarah Palin runs: business as usual or a return to the founding principles of the United States of America.

God willing, Americans will realize they have no other choice but to elect Sarah Palin.

With highly visible photos of Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan in her Oval Office, no one, and I mean no one will doubt that President Palin means business and is in the driver’s seat to get the job done!

Here are a few photos from “The Undefeated” premiere that took place today in Pella, Iowa. All of these photos come courtesy of Politicons. They have many, many more photos and I urge you to visit and scroll. Courtesy of their great work, here’s a taste of what today’s event looked like. According to most reports, over a thousand people attended:

The MSM awaits Governor Palin’s arrival. Yes, the same MSM that spent a month writing articles and spinning the narrative that Palin is now irrelevant. Word is, none of these locusts were invited inside for the screening, but they showed up anyway, probably for the same reason a criminal revisits the scene of his or her crime. These corrupt liars know they’ve spent nearly three years assassinating Palin’s character and lying about her record, and now that a filmmaker has decided to do their jobs for them and tell the truth about one of the most talked about politicians of our time, they just can’t help but rubberneck.

—–

Todd and Governor Sarah Palin arrive. The MSM who consider her irrelevant swarm.

—–

Todd and Sarah work the crowd. In a just world, President Obama would give the Nobel Peace prize he doesn’t deserve to Todd Palin, who deserves it for dignity he shows while the worst people in the world attack his wife and children. Anyone up for a petition?

—–

In the crowd: A father who’s obviously raising his son correctly.

—–

Inside the Pella Opera House where the screening took place.

—–

After the screening there was a barbecue. Todd and Governor Palin attended, mingled, and signed autographs.

Again, please visit Politicons. They not only have a lot more photos but also terrific coverage of the event from beginning to end.

Obviously a major GOP star heading out to Iowa at this time of year rekindles speculation about a presidential run. Courtesy of Real Clear Politics, here are some quotes from the Governor regarding her future and the film itself:

Though she indicated that she is still not close to announcing her decision on whether to run for president, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Tuesday said that she would fully commit to the traditional process leading up to the Iowa caucuses, if she does throw her hat in the ring.

“110 percent,” Palin told RealClearPolitics before entering the premiere of a documentary that extols her accomplishments in office. “Doing as much as I can to garner that support. It’s necessary.” …

As Palin finally made her way to the entrance of the opera house, she greeted ["Undefeated" director Steve] Bannon with a hug.

“I’m very grateful that someone would bother to go to these efforts to make a documentary about the record of my team in Alaska that worked so hard for energy security and ethics reform and privatizing businesses that should never be in government’s hands,” Palin said. “This film really is a great illustration of what it is that you can accomplish as a team, a bipartisan approach, just common-sense solutions to some tough issues. We tackled it, we succeeded, and someone went to the trouble of documenting what it was that we accomplished. I appreciate that, so that brings me to Iowa.”

Don’t ask me what Governor Palin’s ultimate decision will be. It’s anybody’s guess. Her oldest daughter Bristol said last night on “Hannity” that her mother has already made a decision. She just wouldn’t elaborate on what that decision is.

There’s a lot of good people already running for the GOP nomination, most especially Herman Cain and Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, but I would love to see Governor Palin throw her hat in the ring. No one better understands that the MSM is the real opponent in 2012 and no one is better prepared — through her own experience and social media savvy — to defeat them. She was also one helluva chief executive of Alaska and happens to be right on almost every issue.

Can I get a … Run Sarah, run!

Last night HBO debuted the documentary “By the People: The Election of Barack Obama,” which chronicles the historic election of our 44th president. The film was shot by Alicia Sams and Amy Rice with a key assist from actor Edward Norton. The directors wanted to follow Obama around on his campaign after seeing his speech in the 2004 Democrat Convention. They couldn’t get any calls back until Ed Norton stepped in to help. Norton doesn’t appear in the film. But there are plenty of other starry-eyed voters lined up to praise “the one.”

The film’s first 45 minutes deals with the Iowa Caucus where Obama’s campaign begins. He spends eight months meeting people and working his bland charm, trying to convince everyone he’s just like them. An agreeable, prosaic kind of guy who looks good in a suit and grins a lot. There is no indication of his politics or past associations being radical. He seems a moderate. There are a few people interviewed who question his past, but it’s given little attention.

Obama coasts through his campaign like some kind of prom king who’s used to people throwing rose petals at his feet. Michelle is shown as being the supportive wife and the kids are along for the ride. It’s an image of the family that goes along with the narrative they created for themselves. The film makers said in interviews that they were impressed by how zen-like the Obama team seemed to be. My impression was they never seemed that emotionally engaged. Obama often smiled, but he was generally very detached, almost like he was coasting to victory on a wave of hubris. Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod were shown as two tired-looking, almost bored middle aged guys wrangling Obama’s scruffy young ideologues as they tried to get more voters on their side.

Obama’s “genius” as a politician is to be a blank slate for people who didn’t know him. They projected their own aspirations and expectations on his candidacy. He appeared at a time when people were afraid the economy was tanking and they didn’t see answers in the usual faces running for president. They were able to see Obama as someone calm and in control. An image he was able to maintain throughout the race.

Isn’t it funny how looks are often deceiving?

The film’s villain wasn’t so much John McCain but Hillary Clinton, who gave Obama his biggest fight. Yes, the revealing thing about this doc was how Obama seemed to be largely unaffected by the ups and downs of the race. Part of that comes from the fact that Obama was “selected and not elected.” He won caucuses, Hillary won elections. Obama was able to get enough delegates by caucuses to appear the leader in the race. Then momentum carried him home.

Obama’s career has been full of opportunities and awards handed to him on a platter. And when that doesn’t work, he uses underhanded tricks.

The film is a lot like Obama himself: bland, humorless and full of meaningless platitudes. But it looks nice.

And that’s the problem with ObamaMania. The Dems threw Hillary Clinton under the bus because many of them didn’t like her baggage, yet these same people, who screamed bloody murder about President Bush’s missing National Guard records, didn’t even blink at the fact that Obama has locked away so many things in his past and denied his associations with America-hating radicals. Yet his cabinet is full of those very same kind of people. Which brings us to the two most hilarious statements Obama made in the campaign, which were repeated in the film:

“People are tired of fear, distractions and diversions.” and “They (the people) don’t deserve four more years of failed economic policies.”

No wonder his poll numbers are dropping. He’s right!

The irony of this show was that it debuted on the night Obama was given a glimpse of his political future. Major losses were handed to the Dems. And over on ABC, a remake of the ’80s sci fi show “V” was aired, only this time it was a comment on ObamaMania. Attractive aliens come to earth and promise “universal health care” and hope and change in return for our trust and devotion. Little do the foolish earth people know, the aliens are here to destroy us.

Don’t you hate it when that happens?
