Singer Raffi: Only Hope Against ‘Climate Disaster’ is Indoctrinating Your Children

by Ezra Dulis

If we’ve learned anything from the Huffington Post, it’s that celebrity’ attempts at political eloquence almost always ends in disaster.  A recent op-ed by Canadian singer Raffi was no exception; while God dumped enough snow on America to collapse the Superdome and Floridians tried to make sense of their temperatures dipping into the low 20s for a few weeks, the man had the tone-deaf gall to say we really need to refocus on this global warming thing.   And, attempting eloquence, he quickly made it the most embarrassing statement about global warming since… well…

—–

Quoth the Raffi:

In a well known Greek myth, the very rich King Midas, who loves gold above all else, is granted his singular wish that everything he touches turn into gold. The gift becomes a curse when his golden touch kills plants, food, and even his daughter, who is turned into a statue. Bereft and repentant, forsaking greed, the king begs for deliverance. His curse is lifted by a wash in the river. All he holds truly precious is restored.

The modern version of the story is about a gold rush called globalization, a monetized world order that commodifies everything and poisons all that it touches: air, water, soil, whales, indigenous cultures, mothers’ milk, and babies, now born with a body burden of toxic chemicals. Money, as symbolic reward for goods and services, when elevated above all else, becomes a curse. The symbol turns tyrant and casts a plague on the living. We’re currently in the atonement chapter of the tragedy, praying we have time to write a happier ending.

Just… where does one begin?

Short answer:  penguins. They’re not worried about global warming.  Just take a look at this little guy…! (more…)

Madden NFL 11: Indoctrination, Obama Style

by AWR Hawkins

Many members of the radical left in this nation have spent every decade since the 1960s seeking positions of power and influence by which they might remake America in their own image. Such people are normally found in judicial positions, college professorships, cabinet posts or a director’s chair. Others, who are not in the spotlight as often, can be found teaching 3rd graders about the evils of capitalism, the racism of the Republican Party, and the environmental hazards of Big Oil.

-President Obama appears at the 1:50 mark-

Occasionally, however, there arises a radical who is all these different things rolled into one: a progressive with a persona that enables him to influence adults and hold sway over the minds of children. A good example of this type of leftist is President Obama, who not only convinced a majority of adults to vote for him over Senator John McCain in 2008, but also used that same campaign season to appeal to children and younger voters by having his name advertised in video games. Since then, he has crafted presidential speeches aimed at America’s youngest generations (as when he gave a special speech to elementary school students which was broadcast throughout the public school system in the fall of 2009), and will be appearing in the soon-to-be-released Madden NFL 11.

That’s right: Obama’s image will be tucked into the scenes of one of the most popular video games available. (more…)

Academia-Gate: ‘Cry Wolf’ Project Is a Confession of Academic Malpractice

by Adam Baldwin

[Ed. Note: Please visit Big Journalism for the full "Cry Wolf" series.]

Patrick Courrielche’s kickoff article exposing major university faculty and graduate students’ Cry Wolf Project is alarming. Each installment in the series has only made it more so.

CWP’s solicitation for policy briefs designed to construct politically driven narratives is a confession of academic malpractice. As Kurt Schlichter has pointed out, its participants’ intentions are unethical, insubordinate, and potentially illegal.

The CWP email shows its players to be intolerant of varying viewpoints in the pursuit of their ideological ends. The fact that they are offering colleagues and grad students money to predetermine outcomes proves their intent: to tell partisan political stories:

Stupidity, Schooling, and the Take-Over of America’s Culture

by Evan Sayet

Half-a-century ago, a band of Leftist thugs violently took over the administration building at Columbia University and hijacked the American education system.  From that moment on, they used this system to indoctrinate – in fact brainwash – generation after generation into their cult of Leftism.

For the next five decades (pseudo)-intellectuals, hiding behind tenure and “Academic Freedom,” have been spewing greater and greater nonsense designed for one purpose and one purpose only: sabotaging and eventually destroying all of Western Civilization.

Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers

Don’t think so?  Simply consider the fact that one of the most oft-repeated chants of the Modern Liberal movement is “Hey, hey, ho, ho. Western Civilization has got to go.”

With control of the “education” system, the Leftists turned what had been a place of scholarship into a Leftism factory with a curriculum and modus operandi designed to facilitate their Utopian dreams which first required the demolition of the great (but imperfect) Western World. (more…)
