President Barack Obama is about to learn that Hollywood is the ultimate fair-weather friend, where one hit and especially one flop can change everything about the way a majority of the power in this town will publicly support and stand by you. There’s only one thing these people hate more than everyday Americans and that’s the stench that emanates from a loser. So insecure are they over their own status that when faced with a public failure, the very first instinct these Tinseltown paragons of narcissism summon is to immediately run away out of the selfish fear that some of that stench might get on them.

Two examples:

In 1978, a young director named Michael Cimino ascended to the very tippity-top of Tinseltown adulation with his sophomore directing effort “The Deer Hunter,” which triumphed at the box office and that year’s Oscars. Subsequently, everyone in Hollywood wanted to be like Mike. And yet, a mere two years after his out-of-nowhere rise to the top and flushed with the power of his own invincibility, Cimono went on a then-unprecedented spending spree to produce the ill-conceived “Heaven’s Gate” which would not only become the biggest financial debacle in all of Hollywood history, but effectively destroy an entire studio, United Artists.

And thus ended Hollywood’s love affair with Michael Cimino. Oh, he would go on to make a few more films but by most definitions, the toast of Hollywood’s career was all but dead and he would never truly receive a second chance.

Fast-forward to 2008 when a young Senator named Barack Obama ascended to the very tippity-top of Hollywood adulation and won the highest office in the land. Everyone in left-wing Hollywood wanted to be like Barack. And then, right after his out-of-nowhere rise to the top, while still flushed with the power of his own invincibility, President Obama went on an unprecedented spending spree to produce the ill-conceived Heaven’s Gate of economic plans which would become the biggest financial debacle in generations and the Waterworld of health care plans which would prove to be more unpopular than some diseases. Overnight, the net result of both would all but destroy the hard-earned gains of the Democrat Party in a single midterm election.

And thus ended Hollywood’s love affair with Barack Obama.

It’s been almost a week since the election, the President is obviously licking his wounds over the “shellacking” he took, and where are all his Hollywood pals? Where’s the public Hollywood support, especially when the President needs it most…?

Where’s the “We’re Still With You!” Will.I’Am video?

Where’s Ashton Kutcher’s “We Still Post-Midterm Pledge Our Allegiance to Barack Obama” Celeb-u-Tard-YouTube-a-thon?

When will those creepy Venice, California neighbors Mao their kids together again to buck up the Precious One?

“Funny or Die” can’t produce one quick, painfully self-conscious unfunny ”Die” to buck their guy up some?

While I’m sure his ego appreciated it, Obama certainly didn’t need a bunch of shallow preeners attaching their little pinko wagons to his star while he was on the rise and especially after he had reached the top. Now is when he could use some public support, but thus far Hollywood’s nowhere to be found. Unfortunately for the President, he’s no longer boffo at the box office– in fact, he’s box office poison — and standing by the Chief Executive of Epic Failure is not a Hollywood resume enhancer.

Most confusing for Obama must be the fact that he did absolutely everything Hollywood asked him to when it came to exponentially expanding the size of the federal government and socializing our health care system. But doing what Hollywood expects of you is not enough. Failure will still strip you of your mojo and the result is always the same: the left-wing celeb community flees from you like a Brownie Troop from Roman Polanski … which is far from a perfect analogy. After all, even though he’s a child rapist, Polanski still enjoys plenty of Hollywood public support because he’s successful — successful at getting films made and winning his actors awards.

Poor Barack, in Hollywood today he doesn’t even rate above a child rapist.

According to the website CNN.com, some of the criticism of first lady Michelle Obama is driven by partisan politics. However, “others say the attacks are rooted in white resentment of the “uppity Negro.” Two things quickly come to mind. The first is that no one other than Harry Reid uses the word “Negro” anymore. Second, that it is the 21st century and yet there are those who continue to talk about race as if it were 1955.

Last February, in a speech to honor Black History Month, Attorney General Eric Holder remarked that Americans of all colors should stop avoiding an honest discussion of race in America. Said Holder: “Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and I believe continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards.”

I disagreed with Holder at the time and still do. Americans are not cowards when it comes to discussions of race, neither are they dishonest. Rather, I believe Americans are simply bone-tired.

The American conversation on race began more than two centuries ago and frankly, we have talked of little else. The topic permeated the discussions during the drafting of both our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution and continues today, with a black man sitting in the white house.

Not cowards, just exhausted and so very, very eager to move on!

This was the great “hope” for Barack Obama. The great tide that swept Barack Obama into the White House was not the hope of a hard left social and economic agenda. Americans were eager to move on to a new and more uplifting conversation about their nation and their lives as citizens. And one of the things they wanted to change was the conversation on race.

In fairness, changing America’s racial conversation may have been a bit too much to ask of one man. Although for a man who promised that his nomination as a candidate for president would be remembered as the moment the planet would heal and the oceans would calm, such expectations were perhaps not so outrageous. Nevertheless–his ability or inability to calm the tides notwithstanding–he is only human.

And early on, there were signs that it was all too good to be true.

There was the revelation of his 20-year association with the reverend Jeremiah Wright, pastor of the universal church of “get back whitey.” This eye-opener was followed by several editorials introducing voters to the new “racial code.” We discovered, for instance, that talking about Obama’s elitism was code for saying he was “uppity” and to point out his inexperience was to call him a “boy.” Alas, this was all a harbinger of what was to come.

This administration has attempted to marginalize its opponents by labeling them as racists; movements have been slandered with charges of racism, and principled disagreement is suddenly seen as evidence of bigotry. It all seems a bit surreal. As a nation, we seem to be talking about race now, more than we have in a very long time. As far as leading this nation into a post racial era, the election of Barack Obama can only be seen as a bust.

But perhaps I have misread the tea leaves. It may be that what we are witnessing is race- as-we-have-come-to-know-it in its death throes. We might also be seeing first hand the birth of a new paradigm of race in America—one that will carry us into the next generation.

This past March, in a deliberate attempt to provoke a racial incident, members of the Congressional Black Caucus marched through a large crowd of angry, mostly white, ObamaCare protestors. But the trick failed. The fire hoses didn’t appear; neither did the attack dogs, or the white racists shouting the N-word. Sure, the left claimed it happened–that these noble black heroes were spat upon and called ugly names as in days gone by–but the lie failed to gain traction.

Representatives Charles Rangel and Maxine Waters have claimed that race is behind investigations into their behavior, as opposed to the possibility that they have been unethical and dishonest. There was a time when such charges would have been greeted with seriousness as opposed to the snickering these recent protests have garnered.

The new left media is hard at work attempting to prove racial animus. Increasingly, however, their charges seem to read like a laundry-list of falsehoods and rather mundane annoyance: Scrutiny of the first lady, for instance.

It would be difficult for Americans to witness the cynical, dishonest, and hollow way in which race has been at issue over the last two years and not sense that something is afoot. Indeed, it may be that this nation is moving in a new direction on race. Sure, there will continue to be those who cling to the outdated view of black-white relationships, but increasingly they must be seen as out-of-step with the times. If true, it is both reason to celebrate and to shake Mr. Obama’s hand.

Divine.

Undeniably miraculous that a child, like a female, singing, Biblical David, should arrive with that much inborn courage, wisdom and sensitivity!

“It felt great,” Rhema Marvanne, said about making her theatrical debut. “It felt like God is really proud of me and he’s smiling right at me.”

She has that right, along with what appears to be everything else in her soul.

Does God send His divinities when we need them most?

Yes.

Does he send us other symbols of His Amazing Love?

Yes.

Who, what and where they are is up to you.

What we are facing in terms of Evil, however, demands that we collect around these divinely gifted souls, worship with them and listen to God’s Will for us.

A Spirit of Evil is not only moving across the land, but owns the very halls of power we are most vulnerable to.

It is an Evil so great that only God knows what to do with it.

Ahab and Jezebel and their 21st Century counterparts, the Clintons and the Obamas, have ruled American infanticide for two decades. They intend to expand the use of death as a solution to the “problems” and “challenges” of a Progressive New World Order.

Because the United States has resigned itself to legalized abortion and the Supreme Court’s Roe v Wade decision for 37 years, the Progressive Disease that now possesses the land will not be stopped.

Why?

God will not lift a finger to delay the progress of the Progressives as long as Americans refuse to call abortion for what it is: cold-blooded murder.

How many Rhema Marvanne’s have been butchered by Roe v. Wade?!

How many angels has God sent that we have aborted?

Is there anything planned by The Progressives that could surpass in importance the living witness to God embodied by this 7 year old prodigy?

No.

Such miracles in gestation are being treated as utterly irrelevant. The inhumanity of The Progressive’s Progress marches blindly forward to end the essence of the Judeo-Christian Civilization, and, I might add, God’s angels on Earth.

Man as God, holding God’s power over life and death.

Which man or woman on earth then can claim to be the will of God?

The Communist Collective and its ever-obligatory dictator!

We must just respond to this Communist Collective and its Dictator with another form of C.C.: the Christian Collective.

Do not fool yourselves: Communism is a faith, a Devil-worshipping religion!

Communist tyranny, coupled with its own version of Gestapo, Islamic Jihadists, are intent upon not merely the “fundamental transformation of the United States” but the utter and compete destruction of the Judeo-Christian Civilization.

A spirit is walking the American land and it is not Communist, nor Jihadist.

It is profoundly Judeo-Christian, and, with 5,000 years of its existence, this spirit will inevitably triumph.

After waiting until the Progressive Jihadists are fully assembled and as cocksure as Adolph Hitler in Paris, the Judeo-Christian Spirit, “under God,” will not only walk the land, but, piece by piece, disassemble every single creation of the Progressive Movement.

The Progressive Disease will collapse from within.

Why?

It is a lie.

The grandest lie that ever sought to own and run the human race is the Progressive New World Order!

It actually dwarfs the endless lies of Hitler, Stalin and Mao.

Why?

The depth of its treasonous hypocrisy.

Posing as not only Christians but, if you can believe it, Catholics as well, the Clintons, the Obamas and the Pelosi/Bidens are selling their tyranny as a Christian liberation.

I cannot think of a greater display of heretical arrogance than Nancy Pelosi demanding an audience with the Pope.

To watch her listen to Benedict XVI and his lecture to her on the cardinal sin of abortion and yet to have her maintain that increasingly infuriating smile on her lying lips?

Then to watch her carry that smile through a gathering of Tea Party protestors and have her African American, Fellow Progressives also lie about what was said at that protest?

Treasonous hypocrisy!

Can you conceive of a more horrifying combination of sins?

Sin, however, is not anything the Progressive Movement recognizes.

The only sin for the PM and the Obama Nation is any opposition to their Progressive ambitions.

After listening to my daily diet of Glenn Beck, I reluctantly realize that all of his leadership power and skill will lead to ruin if he doesn’t prioritize the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Without God’s help, the Tea Party, 9/12ers and Fox News will face one infuriating defeat after another.

I don’t believe God will be there to defeat the Progressive New World Order unless Americans realize that their resigned acceptance of Roe v Wade, their look-the-other-way attitude, is a revelation of their real priorities: their impassioned commitments to personal income and personal freedom than to the sacredness of human life itself.

God, at least the Judeo-Christian Deity I know, hardly put Mammon before the baby Jesus.

Our Lord said, “As you do unto the little ones, so you do unto Me!”

As the Tea Party and 9/12ers roll toward their big day in Washington, D. C. on August 28th and collect their conglomerate power for what amounts to a counter-revolution in the face of what has now become of America: the Obama Nation?

Legislation, already passed by Congress – the Healthcare and Financial Regulation Bills – will be inflicting their increasingly invasive powers over the American people.

The Fist of the Obama Nation will be closing around America.

Only God and God alone can so weaken this worldwide Hand of Evil that the Fist of the Obama Nation will open and let the American people go.

The Obama Nation’s vengeful enslavement of traditional America, as payback for slavery, is purely the Devil’s doing.

Like Job, America’s patience will be sorely tested.

In the case of this Third Millennium Job, traditional America, God will not order Evil to cease and desist until America sees its greatest sin!

One even greater than that of slavery.

The legalized murder of abortion.

The Roe v Wade Holocaust.

At a modest estimate, 50 million, gestating human beings have been butchered by Roe v Wade.

Since when did God ever bless Cain for slaying Abel?

Oh, the Devil loves Cain, and Mankind is no match for the Devil.

God is.

God won’t really help us until Roe v Wade is overturned, if only in one of America’s states.

The intensity of the battle between Arizona and the Obama Nation is a prelude and warm-up for the rage that the Obama Nation will feel when one state defies Roe v Wade and categorically defines murder by abortion as illegal.

It is in that rage of the Obama Nation that God will work His miracles and turn former Progressives into Americans again.

With such inner deterioration, the Obama Nation will collapse in agonizing defeat before the miraculously powerful strains of a 7 year-old child, a young, female, Biblical David now known as Rhema Marvanne.

As she sings:

Guide us to a place

Guide us with Your Grace

To a place where we’ll feel safe!

We all know where we are going and where we most belong.

So that weird sound you’re hearing right now is the collective hand-wringing of liberals both in government and in media, who can’t help but fret as the Great One’s poll numbers drop like an ACME safe on their enormous expectations.

And so the Politico website ruminates over the tragic contrast between Obama’s real achievements and our country’s growing disappointment in him.

They point out that Obama has “moved swiftly toward achieving the very policy objectives he promised voters as a candidate,” which to me, is EXACTLY why we can’t stand him now.

Look at the comprehensive health care bill. It pleased the media – but for the rest of us? We got duped.

Financial reform, if it passes, will be called a victory by the same wags – despite an economy that’s deader than most Golden Girls.

Point is: we’d like him more if he just played golf!

Bottom line: people voted for Obama, because it was like joining the gym. It made you feel good, even if you never really showed up again.

But even though you aren’t there, he is.

Pumping away.

Even more, many voters finally see that soaring rhetoric doesn’t cut it. How funny is it that the one thing everyone said Obama was so good at (using his mouth), is now to blame for everything (instead of his inexperience). As Politico says, Obama “and his West Wing turn out to be not especially good at politics, or communications…”

In short: Ha.

To elaborate: Ha, ha, ha.

But this communication failure is no surprise. Consider all the crap Obama was initially yakking about. It was so easy-peasy. Hope and change? Anyone with a decent voice and a DVD set of the West Wing can master that. But when faced with real junk like immigration and Iran, that poop won’t fly.

It just sticks.

And if you disagree with me, you’re a racist homophobe who builds Walmarts on native American burial sites.

The right to private property was one of the central issues involved in the American Revolution. The colonists’ cries of “taxation without representation” were but protests of what they saw as an unjust taking of private property.

The Declaration of Independence charges the King of England with engaging in 10 acts of abuse, of which half are offenses against private property. Most significantly, the Declaration lists the pursuit of happiness as one of man’s primary inalienable rights. The founders believed that liberty, happiness, and property were inextricably tied together.

Over the years, the American occupation with private property has not receded. Indeed, the question of private property remains a central part of our national political conversation. The political rhetoric may not always reflect it, but if one scratches the surface of arguments surrounding universal healthcare; entitlements; budgetary deficits; business regulation; cap-and-trade, or even abortion, one will find an argument involving the God-given right to private property.

The founders, of course, did not understand property simply to mean one’s possessions. Property was understood to include the fruit of one’s labor; it included a man’s conscience—the things he believed and thought, and the ideals he held dear. James Madison wrote that individuals have a property, “In their opinions and the free exercise of them.” As well as “a property of peculiar value in his religious opinions and in the profession and practice dictated by them.” In short, “as man is said to have a right to his property, he may be equally said to have a property in his rights.”

The founders were then of the same mind as John Locke, who wrote in his “Second Treatise on Government:” “The great and chief end therefore, of men united into commonwealths, and putting themselves under government, is the preservation of their property.”

Some Americans continue to share the belief that the right to private property is sacrosanct–other Americans, not so much.

In a 2001 radio interview, a young Barack Obama lamented that the Warren Court had not been more radical and had not addressed the redistribution of wealth, which is to say the redistribution of private property. Obama continued to opine that the Constitution was a charter of “negative liberties,” which failed to declare, “What the federal or state government must do on your behalf.” The truth is that when read through the lens of the Declaration, the Constitution lays out the manner in which the government will carry out the commission with which government has principally been charged: protecting each citizen’s private property!

It is truly a tragic sign of the times, that to be in favor of private property is increasingly viewed as being extreme. Witness the manner in which the New Left demonizes the political right, sneering that Republicans view all regulation of business as evil. Like so much of the current political rhetoric, this claim is wanting for lack of truth.

Regulation is not a zero sum question. The choice is not to be made between regulation and lawlessness. Rather, the question is one of the manner and extent of any proposed regulations. Are the regulations prudent and do they preserve the government mandate to protect the lives, liberties, and private property of each individual? Or is it bureaucratic micromanagement–an attempt to redistribute property, and/or choose economic winners and losers? That is the issue, and it is no wonder that the New Left chooses to put up straw-men rather than argue the merits and morality of its specific regulatory propositions.

Like the founders, conservatives believe that the free market must be regulated by the rule of law and by those civil institutions responsible for building and maintaining an individual’s character. In other words, any business must conform to both criminal and civil laws, (which must be enforced), must be held to contractual obligations, and must respect the private property of other citizens. Conservatives also share the conviction of the founders that citizens raised with a sense of Judea/Christian morality and educated in civic virtue–as opposed to moral relativism and secular progressivism–will tend not to need the eyes of Uncle Sam looking over their shoulder.

There are, alas, a great many Americans that tend toward the progressive view that in order to achieve “social justice” the government ought to own, well, everything.

John Adams perhaps put it best when he said: “The moment the idea is admitted into society, that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence.”

The Obama White House, so filled with Harvard graduates, is obviously more interested in teaching than in learning.

“Teachable moments,” remember?

Why the Obama Nation should retain so many slow-learners, spoiled brats refusing to recognize, amidst their Marxist Mania, the reality of Islamic terrorism?

It still takes Sarah Palin to remind these Harvard Czars and their Attorney General that a Chicago, Illinois high school willing to boycott an Arizona basketball game was also willing to send its students off to Red China.

That is obviously the high school’s four-year course in Progressive treason.

The Arizona immigration bill is a human rights offense and Red China is not?!

Radical Islam’s war against America does not exist?! Might Islamic terrorism be a part of a Marxist plan to achieve the so-called Progressive New World Order?

An American, bipartisan political movement, The Progressives, who own the White House, the Congress, the Supreme Court and the Mainstream Media are being embarrassed into making a common sense decision by what would appear to be a group of backward-thinking, bourgeois Americans: Fox News, the Tea Partiers and recent popularity polls.

Is this not a reminder that All Americans Are Created Equal and Remain So, Regardless of Educational Backgrounds?

No!

That is not how the Obama Nation has, can or will ever look at their fellow citizens.

Most Americans have not read either Das Capital or The Communist Manifesto.

Most “Revolutionaries” within the Obama Nation have read those two symphonies of tyrannical megalomania by Karl Marx and memorized portions they wish to teach to their “stupid,” fellow Americans.

However, most Americans are no more interested in those diseased brainstorms by Karl Marx than they are in reading Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf.

It is clear, however, that the President and his advisers have made Marx a teachable priority in their education.

Hanging an image of Mao Tse Tung on the White House Christmas Tree is a greater priority than sending Federal forces to Arizona to protect its border with Mexico?!

This is all part of that exploding reality now known as the Progressive, ergo, Marxist New World Order, or, as it has been more euphemistically translated, “the fundamental transformation of the United States of America” into the Obama Nation as something “too big to criticize.”

The Tea Partiers, Fox News and an increasingly greater number of Americans are not on the New World Order Bandwagon.

This growing dissention between the Governing and the Governed in America is, needless to say, quite a forbidding and foreboding development.

What will the Obama Nation do in order to shape these profoundly uneducated Americans up?

Teachable Moments!

As many as it takes!!

Hmmm … what can Tea Partiers do in anticipation of the certain onslaught of these Progressive Teachable Moments?

Predict those teachable moments!

If the Cambridge police, in their experience with the first “teachable moment” in American History, are the “stupid” ones, according to the President of the United States, it won’t be too far fetched to anticipate most local authorities and city/state law enforcement, such as the Arizona governor’s new, preventative measures against illegal immigration, to be acting, quite predictably, in what our Progressive President would call a “stupid” way.

These bourgeois Americans neither went to Harvard nor are they Harvard professors.

Therefore they are, ipso facto, “stupid.”

In the eyes of the “stupid”, the President’s lack of action to protect Arizona’s American sovereignty is not only unconstitutional but, perhaps, an impeachable offense.

One really shouldn’t get “stupid Americans”, particularly law enforcement officers, too upset because these American ignoramuses have lawyers too, prosecuting attorneys actually.

I played one on television.

These “stupid” prosecuting attorneys, rather like Ben Stone of Law and Order, know a few things about American law that rest in the favor of the police, the governor of a state and the citizens who wish to protect themselves from enemies such as Communist interlopers, Islamic terrorists and drug-selling, illegal immigrants.

The recent candidate for the Supreme Court, Elena Kagan, will be replacing one of her own kind. Therefore the balance in this last resort of judicial resolution won’t change noticeably. The votes will still remain the same.

So, no matter how high the President or his “stupid” citizens wish to press an issue, we bourgeois Americans will have much of law enforcement on our side because much of American law is written for Americans, not for American Communists nor for American Muslim Extremists.

We now know that our Progressive leadership in Washington believes, with increasing shamelessness, that the French Revolution was vastly superior to the American one.

Robespierre and Napoleon, in the eyes of our Progressive Revolutionaries, must have been undeniably more “enlightened” than any of the Founding Fathers of America.

As the authors of Our Oldest Enemy have already demonstrated, the ultimate and most long-awaited dénouement to any international conflict will be that between the French and American Revolutions.

Hopefully the intra-revolutionary war will be decided in the Third Millennium courts and ballot boxes.

As a Dartmouth College graduate, I’m enough of a former Ivy Leaguer to smell out the Highest, Bipartisan Poo-bahs of Harvard Elitism, from Henry Kissinger to Barack Obama.

These “enlightened despots”, to quote Voltaire, are ideologues, not unlike the fascist know-it-alls within the Axis of World War II.

Never forget that Stalinist Russia was, at one time, an ally of Hitler’s Third Reich.

So was a powerfully influential Muslim cabal, as is clearly recorded in Icon of Evil by David Dalin and John Rothmann.

Nazism, Fascism, Communism and Islamic Fundamentalism all combined for one brief moment during World War II in an effort to bring down all of Judeo-Christianity.

Apparently they have united again to complete the job which was and still is to prove that tyranny will triumph over individual freedom and individual responsibility.

Once the Progressives learn that tyranny is not a teachable commodity in the United States, their complete and utter control of the United States government for the first time in their history will oblige them to force tyranny upon us.

No one knew the aims of such a movement more profoundly than Sir Winston Churchill whose prophecies were fulfilled and yet whose bust was kicked out of the White House by President Obama.

Why?

With all of Churchill’s genius, he never lost his common sense, a mindset for which the Progressives have repeatedly proven themselves to be non-learning extra-terrestrials.

At this point unfortunately, we old-fashioned and traditional Americans have indeed, on the world-wide level, been outnumbered and, for the moment, out-gunned and out-organized by the Elite Extra Terrestrials and their community-organizing unions.

However, one rather large and relatively ancient institution that the Progressive Axis cannot count upon is the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church was indisputably unmanageable during World War II and is not about to change her own variety of unpredictably common sense during a possible World War III.

As my regular readers know, the Roe v Wade Decision was not only the New World Order’s biggest foot-in-the-door, it heralded 37 years of America’s blind denial, her refusal to call Roe v Wade for what it is: legalized murder.

If you can legalize homicide, you can initiate anything, including, needless to say, a Marxist takeover of America.

The Catholic Church has never and won’t ever change her mind about abortion, regardless of the Progressive efforts to blackmail the Vatican into doing so.

The obligatorily secular, European, Socialist Union is not the least bit interested in stopping American Progressives from turning the United States, Canada and Mexico into the North American, Socialist Union.

As for the neo-Soviet Union and Red China?

Neither Communist nation will help America curb the nuclear ambitions of Iran.

In light of Islamic terrorism, we are definitely going to need a little help from some God, in order to face down Allah’s Extremists.

The 5,000 year-old, agreed-upon God of Judeo-Christianity, Yahweh, seems, to me at least, another one of our “only hopes”.

For Ben Stone and I, as I’ve said, this is just the beginning.

For the Progressive New World Order, it may seem to own the land we stand on but it has yet to entirely tear the old house down

The old house, as I’ve said, contains some 5,000 year-old catacombs.

Yes, indeed, as the song says, “An olden spell is wound about The Game!”

In politics, the crisis game works like this: pet issues are turned into national concerns, which then become the object of study for social scientists. The media then substantiate the concerns by publishing the opinions of social scientists, and thus elevate the issue to the level of a crisis. Once concerns become crises, there are demands that something be done. These demands are quickly followed by legislative action that invariably leads to higher taxes, increased government regulation, a loss of liberty, and if the past is any indication, a remarkable increase in whatever was originally identified as a problem. Repeat the cycle.

First lady Michelle Obama has made childhood obesity her pet project. The media is full of reports on the dangers of childhood obesity, and the federal government is in full crisis mode.

There really is no secret to obesity. Obesity is the result of a poor diet and lack of exercise. The people most responsible for the diet and exercise habits of children are the children’s parents. Why should this concern the federal government? The answer is that obesity is a leading driver of healthcare costs. A study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that the direct costs of obesity is $147 billion annually or 10% of medical costs. Those costs are expected to more than double over the next decade. As the federal government begins to pick up the tab for more and more of those costs they will also begin to demand a greater influence in what we eat and how much we exercise. Certainly, the fiscal health of the nation demands that government do something.

Worry not.

There is a bill currently making its way through the House of Representatives, ironically entitled, “The Healthy Choices Act,” which would establish regulations and fund programs aimed at reducing obesity rates by such means as putting nutritional labels on the front of food products, subsidizing businesses that provide fresh fruits and vegetables, and collecting Body Mass Index, (BMI), measurements of patients, and counseling those that are overweight or obese.

Body Mass Index, or BMI, is a 200 year-old scientific relic that is used to determine a person’s body fat. The BMI is calculated by taking a measurement of a person’s weight in pounds and height in inches, multiplying that number by the person’s height in inches, and then multiplying that number by 703. Any number over 24 is considered overweight.

States receiving federal grants through the bill would be required to mandate that all health care providers in the state “determine the BMI of all their patients in the 2-to-18 year-old age bracket and then report that information to the state government. The state government, in turn, would be required to report the information to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for analysis.”

No good can come from the government becoming the fat police, especially given that the BMI is an unreliable measure of body fat and thus a poor determinate of future health risks.

For instance, the BMI makes no allowance for the density of bones or the weight of muscle. Athletes and those with strong bones, good muscle tone, and low body fat tend to have high BMIs.

Just for fun, I went to the website for the National Institute of Health and entered the height and weight for Tim Tebow into the institute’s BMI computer. Tebow is a former Heisman Trophy winner, All-American football quarterback for the University of Florida Gators, and widely considered one of the best collegiate athletes of all-time. Coaches and sports writers have often commented on what an amazing physical specimen he is. According to Tebow’s BMI, he is obese.

I couldn’t find the necessary statistics on the first lady; so instead, I coaxed my wife into entering her information. According to the BMI computer my wife is of a “normal’ weight. There is no question that my wife is in terrific condition. I am a lucky man! However, she is in such terrific physical condition because she runs eight miles a day, lifts weights like a maniac, and eats nothing but lettuce. When she is really feeling daring she will even add dressing to her salad. And here is the point: The height and weight ratios associated with the BMI are unrealistic. More significantly, by itself the BMI offers very little information on the actual health and condition of the patient.

So why is the government determined to use the BMI? Because the government nannies are more interested in power than they are concerned with the health of individuals and the BMI will offer them the statistics they need to prove the crisis.

The bill also requires “HHS to share with Congress and other government officials, including the secretaries of education and agriculture, its analysis of the BMI data.”

The data would be analyzed in order to determine “obesity trends in regions of the United States and how those trends vary according to gender, and economic status.”

Can you see it yet? The disparate impact folks will have a field day. Black people are fatter than white people; women are fatter than men, and the poor are fatter than the wealthy. Clearly, the food industry responsible for making America obese is also racist, exploits the poor, and is at war with women’s health. We are in the midst of a crisis! Why isn’t the government doing something?

Fear not. The cavalry is speeding to our rescue.

[I gave an abbreviated version of this speech at a Tea-Party in Lake Forrest, California yesterday.]

It’s so nice to be back in Orange County where I grew up. And it’s great to be surrounded by all of my fellow racist-extremist-morons. Oh, you didn’t hear? That’s how the mainstream media is labeling all of us T-party participants.

It was a bit of a surprise to find out I was a racist-extremist-moron, as I try to deal with all my fellow humans with courtesy and respect. But if I disagree with a president of mixed race, I am a racist? Got it. He’s half-black and half-white…and I’m white… Not sure exactly how that works…especially since one of my most oft-quoted heroes was a Black man. I harken to the words of Dr. King in supporting a color-blind society. A person being ‘judged by the content of his character rather that the color of his skin’ type of thing.

And I did pretty well in school, went to college, I try to stay up on current events, I read voraciously and have published a book and written over forty articles that have been published on the Internet, so it surprised me to find out I’m a moron.

And…like all of you ‘morons’, I believe in the American Constitution. I believe brilliant minds put it together with built-in limits of power that were meant to safe-guard the sorts of abuses we now see coming at us on a daily basis in Washington, D.C.

And I must really be out of step, because I believe in God. I think anybody who investigates science, physics, and chemistry, astronomy; who looks around at this beautiful universe of natural wonders…and doesn’t see an intelligent loving Creator behind it all…well; they just failed the intelligence quiz as far as I’m concerned.

And I believe in the American people. We have leadership at the state, city, and local community level. I believe in WE THE PEOPLE’s ability to solve our own problems for ourselves, without the federal government insinuating itself into every aspect of our daily lives. I do believe it’s true – that “a government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take everything you have”.

So obviously…I’m an extremist. I need to get with the program. The New Way. I need to stop worrying about my life…and the lives of my family…and I need to turn over all my responsibility to the government.

I just wrote a big check this morning to the government, so I’m a little worked up – but now I hear I need to give them more and more of my money – and shut up and be fully confident that they are so much wiser than I and know so much better than I do how best to spend my money for my own good.

How about you guys? Want government to take over every little decision in our lives for your own good? Is that what we want our government to do? But Gary, you say, there are people who can’t take care of themselves; there are people who are poor. Yeah! I know, I was one of them! Until I got my butt in gear and started working! But wait, there are people who are disabled, who can’t work. Yeah – and we are a compassionate people. When have we not taken care of the truly disabled? But Gary, there are no jobs; the unemployment is up to 9%. So? Who said life was going to be simple?

Where in our Constitution does it say, “Sit back and cruise. Now that we’re America, you don’t have to find work. The government will provide you with a job, a place to live, free health care, everything!”

BULLSHIT! America is about two things, and they can only exist one alongside the other: Freedom and Responsibility. Individual freedom and personal responsibility. That is the promise of America, and that is why thousands every day risk their lives to break in to our country. And those old models of government — those ‘progressive’ ideas that spawned state prisons like the former Soviet Union, Communist China, Cuba, North Korea, and theocracies like Iran? People are risking their lives to break out of those places. You connect the dots.

I am responsible for my own life. I’m not responsible for yours. You may have fallen upon hard times. Been there, done that, and you have my sympathy. And I pride myself at being the kind of guy who will reach out and try to lift you up, if I can, and lend a helping hand. But if I think for a second that you’re not pulling your own weight in your own life, that hand is retracted.

I love what Dennis Miller said (and I paraphrase) – “I’m compassionate and willing to help the truly helpless – but the truly clueless, hey take a hike, pal.” Hard love — get on with it, get your butt in gear. You’re an American — that’s what an American does.

But the Democrats in Congress and the White House have other ideas.

And the winds of “Change” are upon us.

Recently, there was another hero of mine at the White House…who was thoroughly dissed – Bebe Netanyahu. A real man, intent on the survival of his country. And now…it seems…getting no help, no, not even courtesy, from us. Can somebody please explain to me why there are still Jews in this country who back the Democrats? The Democrats sell out Israel at every single turn, the disrespecting of Netanyahu being only the most recent act of belligerence and non-support by this White House.

But then, that’s just me. I’m old school. I believe American presidents don’t bow to foreign kings…don’t apologize for his country’s attempts to spread democracy and prosperity around the world…and we don’t give terrorists more ‘civil rights’ than the victims of their terrorism.

Old school. I don’t believe in government bailouts, period. Not for banks, not for car companies, not for unions. That is not a prudent, or even constitutionally sanctioned, responsibility of American tax dollars. A bank is failing, let ‘em fail! Ford going belly-up, Chrysler is hurting because people aren’t buying their cars, so what! Bye- bye! Maybe the new reworked bankruptcy deal will actually come up with some fiscal solutions that involve carrying a profit, instead of keeping the big boss union thug reps happy.

But I’m old school. I’m not hip, I’m not politically correct. I believe that it’s actually a good thing that we are the sole remaining nuclear superpower. I don’t feel an overwhelming need to ‘balance things out’ with the likes of Russia, Iran or North Korea.

The President’s recent remarks about the balance of nuclear power and our admission to the world that we won’t pursue remedy with every military resource at hand against enemies that use chemical or biological weapons against us is not only outrageously naive and irresponsible…it’s flat out goofy. And when the leader of the free world makes public policy statements that are generally perceived of as ‘goofy’…then our enemies around the world take a big…step…forward. There are some pretty bad people out there who mean to do some pretty bad things to us – simply because we represent something they can’t tolerate: Freedom.

Though it seems out of vogue to remind ourselves… We are at war. We have a militant faction of radical Muslim extremists who insist that we bow to their god –or die.

Fair enough. At least their terms are crystal clear.

But in my opinion, an even more serious battle wages on here at home. The battle for Freedom. And the battlefield is right between the ears of the American people.

In the war of ideas, words are our weapons – both defensive and offensive, tactical and strategic. And every time we let a Leftist get away with fomenting yet another obfuscation, another half-truth, or slur and demean another great America-loving patriot, or denigrate another one of our time-honored traditions…we are moving a step back…and giving up ground.

Every time we don’t stand up to a verbal or written assault on the idea of America; the concept that in this country, if you work hard and treat people with decency and respect and honesty, you can succeed to your heart’s desire, limited only by the meter of your own ambition. Every time we don’t remind the Leftist of this…we’re pulling back…and surrendering ground for which so many brave and noble patriots have paid the ultimate price.

I’m guilty of it. Maybe some of you are too. Hearing spew from some Lefty’s mouth that same old America’s-to-blame, let’s-all-be-like-Europe crap that sounds so politically correct, and to many seems so ‘culturally evolved’ to say.

We, who are not normally politically active, who just want to raise our families and go to work and live our lives…we who are not typically prone to confrontation, well…we demure from the fight. We hold our tongues. “Just let it go,” we think silently. “Why engage? It won’t change anyone’s mind. We’ll just end up arguing and putting a damper on this pretty day….”

Well I say BULLSHIT. Put a damper on the day! Things have changed – drastically. Blow a whistle. Throw a flag on the play, call 15 yards for unnecessary stupidity.

Get in their face. Remind them in a calm but firm manner…that they are obviously misinformed. America is the greatest nation the world has ever known.

America, with its concept of personal liberty and responsibility extends, to hundreds of millions, opportunities at happiness and prosperity never before seen in human history.

America, at great cost, has done more to selflessly introduce freedom and democracy around the globe than any other nation, bar none. America, like no other country you can name, has been the beacon of hope – real hope – for the world since the time of its inception and continues to offer the world the best of everything – the best technology, the best agriculture, the highest standard of living, by anyone’s measure, and yes, the best HEALTH CARE!

At least…for now.

Folks… Our greatest battle is upon us. We are fighting the fight of our lives. And it is for the hearts and minds of America. We are literally fighting for our freedom.

And we can win this fight — if we stay true to our purpose, and stay politically active, even ratchet it up. Get on the offense; take it to the streets, the shops, the coffee houses, fellow employees at work. Everywhere you go, ask questions, raise the issues, question their offhand remarks, ask them specifically what they mean by that. (Leftists hate specifics. They hate having to define their terms because it forces their true intentions out into the open; and reveals their core beliefs….which when held up to the bright light of truth…are abhorrent, even, in most cases, to them.)

Debate stupidity. Calmly, confidently, armed with the facts, take them on. Our forefathers risked their careers, their property, even their lives to stand up for American ideals; we can risk a little discomfort, embarrassment or popularity debating some lefty knucklehead in a supermarket. You see…we have truth, reason…and goodness on our side. What’ve they got? Keith Olbermann? Nancy Pelosi? Harry Reid?

We can win. And we will win.

Don’t let up. Let’s take back Congress in 2010, and then do some White House renovation in 2012!

That’s change I can believe in.

Thanks for listening, and GOD BLESS AMERICA.
