At the risk of earning my place in The Masters of the Obvious Hall of Fame… I gotta say it. They’re not ‘freedom fighters’, they’re not ‘brave Jihad warriors’, they’re not ‘overseas contingency operators’…they’re terrorists. And they’re evil. True, they are going to ‘meet their destiny’ but it’s not going to be what they think. There are going to be some very disappointed souls who come to find that everything they believed in, indeed, so strongly that they sacrificed their short, pathetic, deluded lives for…was a total lie. They have an appointment with eternity waiting for them, but there won’t be 72 virgins for them to defile forever. Or even for an hour and a half. Nah, none of that. Ain’t gonna happen. (And as Dennis Miller once said, “Hey, 72 virgins? I can see it for a while, but after seven or eight of them…I’m gonna want to call in a pro.”)

Nope. Not saying I’ve consulted the Creator, but…I have it on good authority that that virgin-in-paradise thingie is just a cheap, bucket-o-baloney BS recruiting tool.

Psych!

So all you would-be jihadist bombers with a hard-on to plant the IED’s that are designed to kill our brave servicemen… hey, find something else to do with your hard-on, Sparky, instead of waiting to use it on those 72 clueless virtual babettes. If you’re that lonely and pathetic and worthless, hop on the ubiquitous 25-hour Internet porn sites, take tool in hand, and work out three minutes of your destiny right there in the privacy of your mud hovel. Keep the explosives at home! Your imagined glory doesn’t give a sh*t about you and you blowing up an American G.I. won’t keep you from an eternity of teeth gnashing and anal herpes, so get your head out of your poo-hole, and go get a real job – like maybe something that helps people instead of kills them. Just a thought.

But talk about irony — how’s that for a sad, sick joke? These devoted extremists, buying the whole jihad warrior myth hook, line and stinker; keeping themselves religiously devout and chaste…waiting for the ultimate reward for their heroic, murderous acts of carnage…and they don’t go to heaven at all.

They go straight to hell!

It’s almost funny. Or at least it would be, if it weren’t so terribly sad. A small, extremist segment of one of the world’s largest religion locked into a horribly illogical, obstinate and cruel horror of futility. All based upon a lie. That their ‘god’ compels them to either convert the world to Islam…or if that doesn’t work, blow everything up. That they are committed to an eternal jihad to kill any who won’t accept and adopt their strict religious doctrine — man, woman or child. That they are in fact rewarded by murdering those innocents with an eternal bliss of paradise and fornicating with virgins.

And they call us the Great Satan.

Okay…let me back up. With all due (and undue) respect…and I know that is a broad disclaimer, but I don’t know how else to couch it. I’m speaking now to only violence-prone, extremist Islamofascist Muslims. I can understand that your feelings were hurt five thousand years ago when the Jews started jumping around declaring that God said that they were the ‘chosen people’. I understand you may have felt a bit…what, slighted? I know I would have. “What do you mean you guys are the ‘chosen ones’? Chosen by whom? God!? You kiddin’ me? Oh, yeah, and what – we’re chopped liver?? What kind of sh*t is that??”

But have you considered…”chosen…for what, exactly?” If you look at their history, it becomes clear that they haven’t always been chosen for good things. There was that slavery thing in Egypt. That worked out all right, eventually. Moses rocked. And the Promised Land was cool. But what about that exile into Babylon? That could not have been pleasant. Then the struggle with the Romans? There was no United Nations to complain to. And the ACLU could get no traction, though I’m sure they tried. And then, bummer of bummers, Jesus comes into popularity…gives the Jewish leaders a bunch of lip…rampages through the temple like Axel Rose trashing the penthouse suite at the Hollywood Hyatt…and the Jews get the rap for the death of Christ! And everybody who was there said it was the Romans who killed him! (If only we had a Zapruder film back then, we could put that controversy to rest, huh?) Then…the prosecution in Russia…the pogroms…and finally…Europe under Nazi rule. The Final Solution.

So…you have to ask yourself… They’re the Chosen People…but chosen for what?

Still…to be ‘chosen’ is to be special. So, by extrapolation, to not be chosen…is to not be special. That’s gotta sting.

Well… I feel your pain. It’s got to be a wee bit aggravating to develop your culture side by side with a whole race that touts at every turn its own unique favor with the deity. An exclusive club, a gold-key membership and back stage pass to the All-Mighty. The Jews as Rock Stars. And that other offshoot from Abraham…the Muslim root? “Uh…sorry, guys, you can be the roadies. Grab those Marshall cabinets, will ya, pal? We gotta get going with the sound check.”

I don’t know. Maybe if that Cain dude hadn’t killed his brother Abel, things might have turned out differently?

I’m a Christian, I’m not one of the ‘chosen people’ either. You don’t see me tearing my clothes, ripping out my hair or swinging my scimitar at the closest synagogue. I’m easy, I say, “Hey, they’re the Chosen People? Good on them, I hope it works out.” But listen, Ahmed – and I say this with patience, tolerance, and respect. It’s been five thousand years…so I suggest that each of you who are still smoldering with this multi-generational hatred for all things Jewish…sit down now and pour yourself a nice hot cup of Lighten-the-F*#k-Up.

Time to let it go.

I’m reminded of that TV show a few years back, “Ally McBeal”. Gregg Grumann played a lawyer they called, ‘Fish’. Fish had the amazing proclivity for screwing over everyone he came in contact with; effortlessly, sometimes unwittingly, but screwing them over nonetheless, just as a matter of course. Upon discovering any of his innumerable offenses, he would instantly relieve himself of blame, responsibility and penalty with a simple, tossed-away word: “Bygones!“ (As in, ‘Let bygones be bygones’.) (As in Yo! Fahgettaboudit!)

Abdul… Ahmed… Sal-hakim Ib bin Sal-har Alimi-Omar… all together now: “Bygones!”

Yes, there have been thousands of years of war. Yes, there were plenty of atrocities perpetrated in the name of “God-wills-it” over the millennia. And as a Christian infidel, I’ll cop to some various offenses those Crusade fellows may have been involved in as they were busy ‘evangelizing’ the Muslim world, Bible in one hand, sword in the other. (That Richard the Lionheart was reportedly a real irascible sort, and not much prone to mediated negotiation.)

But you tyrants and extremists under the star and crescent (peace-loving Muslims I have no quarrel with… although, in light of your religion having been somewhat hijacked by a vocal and violent extremist minority, you do yourselves and the world a great disservice in not speaking up against Wahhabbi extremism – and your silence is deafening!”)... it’s you guys who have been doing the lion’s share of unprovoked bloodletting in recent memory. If you guys were truly interested in peace you would acknowledge at least Israel’s right to exist. You wouldn’t have turned down Ehud Barak’s numerous peace proposals and concessions to Arafat. You wouldn’t have stoked the so-called Lebanese civil war (if unprovoked slaughter of untold Lebanese Christians can be called civil war). And if you were truly a people of peace…you would devote yourselves and your culture to building up you society and your people. You would engage in enterprises that develop technology and help to feed your people and provide a better, more peaceful existence. You would work in harmony with your Jewish neighbors, exchanging products, services and ideas for furthering the happy, peaceful progress you espouse openly in English to the western press; and then just as quickly, deny and disparage in your own language to your own people. Like…”Now that we’re alone, and have fooled those suckers, now I can tell you what we really are all about.” (Little things like…driving Israel into the Mediterranean.)

When you tell us you’re all about peace….is it any wonder we don’t believe you?

As of this writing there is a great tremor shaking earth. The winds of revolution are stirring in Tehran, following claims of a fraudulent election that would restore the crazed despot Ahmadinejad to another oppressive term. The people of Iran are filling the streets, rising up for freedom. They are out in force, risking their lives, opposing the tyrant.

We Americans, we who love liberty, are being stirred to our core in empathy and encouragement. We cheer from the sideline, much as when we see film of a baby seal swimming desperately for its life, trying to escape the jaws of a killer whale. We urge him on, and against overwhelming odds, the tiny seal somehow escapes to freedom…and life.

We are stirred by the scenes in Iran because we remember our own impossible beginnings. Going up against the power and might of the British Empire, the one lone superpower of its day. With so much allied against us, the birth of our Republic should never have happened. And yet it did. The human will, that sacrosanct human drive, the will to be free…overcame all the threat, fear, danger… and sacrifice.

These are pivotal, indeed, critical times for our nation and for our world. To what extent will we support that drive for freedom, in Iran, and in other sections of the world?

And, in light of recent movements by the Obama administration and Congress to the contrary…to what extent will we support the drive for liberty in our own nation?

With the seemingly endless abundance of practiced and prodigious bullsh*t hurled about in the media, some from the commentators, some from our leaders — we often lose sight of certain self-evident truths, not the least of which is this: there is right…and there is wrong.

The line in the sand has been drawn.

It was drawn while we were downloading from Itunes, it was drawn while bugs were eaten raw on SURVIROR, it was drawn while the Lakers were surmounting their drive for the championship. And despite great pop-cultural obfuscation to the contrary, the line is quite clear.

Right, wrong. Good, evil.

No one any longer has the luxury of sitting back and letting ‘those others’ make the decisions, call the shots, and determine what sort of world we are to live in. To make no decision is to make a decision; to the detriment of society. You are on one side…or you’re on the other. And ignorance, in the day years ago of crude technology and limited information sources, may have been an excuse. But no more. The information age is upon us, and to abdicate to laziness or outright arrogant refusal to self-educate, is to join the legions who foment darkness and encourage intellectual and spiritual bondage.

So which side are you on?

Are you on the side of the Oppressors? On the side of those who would control you, regulate you, tax you, fine you, imprison you, or kill you if you don’t adhere to their philosophy of life or rules of religion? Or are you on the side of the Freemen? On the side of free individuals engaged in liberty and the free pursuit of happiness, unfettered by excessive government restriction, and guided by a code of honor and responsibility and devotion to goodness, strength, love and liberty?

The time for sitting on the sidelines has passed – for all of us. That tapping you feel right now, deep inside… It is the urgings of your soul. That tapping shall soon be a great pounding drum beat. It is the universal urging to be free, of which every human being is born. To deny it is to submit to enslavement. To answer it is to stand up and take your rightful place among a free people of destiny.

Terrorists and tyrants can have hell – they earned it.

Let those of us who cherish freedom and honor life stand now here, on this earth, and fight for freedom. And let us fight as though our future, our families, our very lives depended on it. Because, friend…it surely does.

The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belong to one category.” – Adolf Hitler.

“At this point, whatever dividing line there was between mainstream conservatism and the black-helicopter crowd seems to have been virtually erased.” – NY Times columnist Paul Krugman.

Paul Krugman

Really sucks to be a conservative these days. I feel like I’m walking around with a big bulls-eye on my back. I know many of the Left, especially Keith Olbermann, Frank Rich, Paul Krugman, the New York Times editorial staff and all the pundits at HuffPo and KOS would find that statement hilariously ironic, given the recent shooting deaths of Dr. George Tiller in Kansas and security guard Steven T. Johns at the Holocaust Museum. Then again, they’re not the ones being branded en masse as co-conspirators in those murders. Conservatives are.

As a bonus, the recent arrest of Jason Bush, a national executive director of the Minuteman anti-illegal immigration group, for brutal murders committed during a home invasion, is also fueling the fire of portraying Righties as inherently violent extremists-in-waiting. Yet Cambodians and other ethnic gangs pull violent home invasions against the vulnerable in their enclaves, which have included brutal murders, on a regular basis. No one’s calling them a threat to the Republic, or branding all Cambodians as inherently violent. They are, in fact, its greatest victims.

Curiously absent in the above blanket indictments of conservatives were the facts that the Holocaust Museum shooter, James von Brunn, was a radical anti-Semite and anti-conservative with a long history of attacking the Right, even going so far as attempting to kidnap President Reagan’s entire Federal Reserve Board back in the 1980s. He was also an ardent proponent of the ‘9/11 was an inside job’ tinfoil conspiracy theory. In that respect, he has a lot more in common with Dylan Avery and Rosie O’Donnell than Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck.

Also curiously absent was the recent shooting death of Pvt. William Long and wounding of another soldier outside a Little Rock recruiting center by an anti-military Islamic convert. Again, that kind of hatred and violence toward the military has far more in common with Code Pink than FOX News. It was not radical conservatives who poured concrete on military rail lines in Olympia, Washington, nothing less than an act of sabotage during wartime. Nor was it a right wing extremist who set off a bomb in front of a Times Square Army recruiting office.

Yet I do not hold all the aforementioned esteemed MSM mouthpieces, or the Left as a whole, responsible for those violent and destructive acts. Nor do I hold the entire American Left responsible for FBI Most Wanted Terrorist Daniel Andreas San Diego’s bombings in San Francisco. Or the violent acts of other eco-terrorists, like the firebombings of scientists’ homes while they and their families were still inside, or the burning down of research labs, car dealerships and housing developments which have caused hundreds of millions of dollars in property damage. Or the highly destructive acts of the ‘elves’ of the Earth Liberation Front.

I also do not hold all left-leaning gay rights advocates responsible for the white powder mailings to Mormon churches by gay radicals. I do not hold the Left responsible for any those singular acts of violent left-wing extremist groups and individuals because of one simple fact: they all didn’t do it.

Fact is, America has always been a land overflowing with nutjobs of all stripes. Sales of the Anarchist Cookbook rival Betty Crocker’s. Some lone psychos have done incredible damage in all sorts of brutal and heinous ways. Lee Harvey Oswald. James Earl Ray. Timothy McVeigh. Theodore Kaczynski, aka the Unabomer. David Koresh. Andrew Cunanin. Olympic Park bomber Eric Rudolph. John Mohammed and Lee Boyd Malvo. Michael McDermott. Daniel Andreas San Diego. And that’s not even counting serial killers like Ted Bundy, John Wanye Gacy and Henry Lee Lucas.

American law enforcement has their hands full. Always have. Sometimes they are successful in stopping extremists from attacking, as was the case with the Fort Dix Six and Bronx synagogue bombing plotters, who also planned to shoot down military aircraft with Stinger missiles. In other not-so-fortunate circumstances law enforcement was left to deal with the violent aftermath, as was the case recently with the aforementioned Tiller, Holocaust Museum and Little Rock shootings.

There is, however, a distinct difference in America today regarding these lone nutjob killers that have plagued us throughout our history. They are now being politicized by the Left in much the same way Hitler manipulated the Reichstag Fire: to brand the entire mainstream conservative movement in the country as extremist threats to the Republic, requiring strong government intervention.

In other words, today we are all extremists.

Just ask Paul Krugman. Or Frank Rich. Or rest of the New York Times editorial staff in their ‘Hate Crimes and Extremist Politics’ oped. Want to see some real hate speech? Check out the comments sections of those Times posts. Those comments, as well as many other recent posts on left-wing blogs, reveal a stunning turnaround on the Left regarding political profiling, censorship, tapping phones and blanket monitoring of the Internet. I guess it all depends who’s being targeted. How quickly things change when it’s the Left running the show.

But all this is really nothing new. President Bill Clinton implied that Rush Limbaugh shared some culpability in the Oklahoma City bombings way back in 1995. Yet the degree to which the Mainstream Media and the Left is attacking the Right over these recent murders goes way beyond just implying. Those bloody corpses are being tossed right on the doorsteps of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage and any other conservative pundit they can think of, as well as blanket condemnation and guilt by association of all their millions of listeners.

Noticeably absent also from this discussion of political extremism was the KILL BUSH death cult on the Left that screamed for the President’s blood and brutal murder for years. Or that most Lefties falsely accused President Bush of staging the worst terror attack in American history against his own citizens. I believe the subsequent bombings by Al Qaeda of London, Madrid, Bali, Iraq, Jordan, or any of the other 13,000-plus Islamist acts of terror since 9/11, put that subject to rest with all but the most dedicated conspiracy theorists. That is clearly Al Qaeda’s modus operandi, as it was way back in 1993 during the first attack on the WTC when Bill Clinton was President.

Also no mention of the Left’s David Dukes, the black supremacist, hate-mongering Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and the bloodstained, racebaiting and mayhem-inciting Rev. Al Sharpton. Or the Left’s unrepentant Timothy McVeighs, domestic terrorists William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, now Leftie icons. You want to talk hateful, extremist, violence-inciting behavior and speech from the other side of the political spectrum? I guess not, huh, Paul? Rich? Keith? HuffPo? KOS?

See how it works? One eye open, one eye closed. Guess which eye is conveniently sewn shut.

Nothing new there, either. For decades the radical Left has engaged in, equivocated or looked the other way on egregious political behavior while at the same time painting all conservatives as extremists by, ironically, adopting extremist positions themselves. This political demonization of the conservative opposition has been flourishing on the Left under the Obama administration. Worse, that demonization has even been given credence and official sanction by such top government officials as David Axelrod and Janet Napolitano.

Now, as much as the Left howled about the Bushitler regime during the past eight years, when did Bush, Karl Rove or anyone else declare all Lefties a clear and present danger to the Republic, even when assassinating the President became a cultural fad in Leftie plays, books, movies, merchandising and art exhibits, egged on even by Air America’s Randy Rhodes simulation of President Bush’s assassination on the air?

Never mind how much the Left is freaking out now over James von Brunn. Can you imagine if the far right made a popular subculture out of assassinating President Obama to the degree Lefties did under President Bush? Or if Glenn Beck simulated the President’s assassination on the air, like Randy Rhodes did at Air America? They’d all be screaming for martial law and internment camps!

I can’t help but wonder. Now that the Left controls the media and all branches of government, do they see their golden opportunity to shut down the hated Right once and for all in this country? Perhaps only now we are finding out the Left’s true definition of unity: singularity of political thought and opinion, and the silencing of all the annoying competing ideologies. What should be vigorous and thoughtful political debate on important issues that concern us all is fast becoming an ideological pogrom. Dissenting views are no longer opposing opinions. They are now thoughtcrime.

This is not right wing extremist paranoia. The track record speaks for itself.

Example. I don’t dislike President Obama because he’s a Socialist raiding the Treasury and nationalizing private industry faster than Hugo Chavez. Or for firing an Inspector-General without notifying Congress, in violation in a law he himself signed off on. Or that his Justice Department under Eric Holder just gave the baton-wielding “you will soon be ruled by the black man, cracker” Black Panther ‘poll monitor’ thugs a total pass, despite a default conviction and the assessment by Mr. Bartle Bull, a former Robert Kennedy campaign manager and prominent election observer of the Civil Rights era calling it “the worst voter intimidation I’ve ever seen.”

And he monitored elections in the South during the Jim Crow era. How bad is that?

No, I don’t dislike the President for any of that. I hate him just because he’s black. In fact, if you’re a conservative these days, you have no valid reason to oppose anything other than mindless right wing hate and bigotry. You have no valid reason to protest President Obama’s spending us into financial oblivion. You are a redneck racist teabagger, and most likely a rabble-rousing neo-Nazi or white supremacist, according to a memo passed around by liberal Democrats in Congress.

You have no valid moral, social or religious reasons to oppose gay marriage. You’re a Nazi and a homophobe. Or Nouveau Jim Crow KKK crackers, as the Boston Phoenix termed those opposing gay marriage. You have no valid reason to oppose Sonia Sotomayer. If you do, you’re a sexist and a racist, and you’d best tread carefully around her. Never mind anything she’s ever said or done, like upholding the blatantly discriminatory Ricci decision now before the US Supreme Court.

Never mind all that. She’s a wise Latina woman, and better than a white man. Watch your step!

You have no valid reason to oppose the millions of illegals flooding our country without procedure or proper criminal, medical or psychological screenings, as was done on Ellis Island, or support securing our borders as every other nation on earth does. You are a vile racist nationalist, just like that Minuteman killer Jason Bush. If you question the populist science of Global Warming that over 31,000 scientists dispute, or oppose any of the draconian taxes and regulations we are about to get slammed with via the Waxman-Markey bill, you are a heretic on the order of a Holocaust denier.

Never mind all the record low temperatures worldwide, or the discrediting of data presented by GW gurus Hansen and Gore as either defective or outright fraudulent. Or the political power and financial riches ‘green’ proponents like Al Gore and GE’s Jeffrey Immelt stand to gain that would dwarf Big Oil profits. I’m not saying that we should pollute the earth until we all choke from it, as GW True Believers will no doubt accuse me of. I’m just saying. Rational debate of the subject on the Left is nonexistent. As it is with most every political subject under the sun.

Is it really any surprise Michael Savage was banned from Britain for what is essentially thoughtcrime, given that government’s extreme left-wing bent? How soon before he is banned here, along with every other conservative pundit on the radio? But this is the mindset of today’s Left. If you do not agree with their extreme positions on the issues, you are branded as the worst kind of extremist yourself, publicly and repeatedly. Just as we conservatives are being painted right now with the same bloody brush of killers who committed acts 99.99999% of us would never dream of. That is not reasoned debate. It is ideologically driven hate and tyranny of thought.

That mindset makes no distinction between violence of speech, i.e. heated political rhetoric, which is Constitutionally protected, and violence of action and criminal speech, i.e. incitement to violence, which is not. It is that twisted perspective that made the assassinations of President Bush and VP Dick Cheney humorous and chic, yet responds to even the mildest criticism of President Obama by Rush Limbaugh with unbridled rage, petitions in Congress and demands to shut Rush up by hook or by crook, be it the Orwellian Fairness Doctrine or in the name of diversity.

Lefties commit the most egregious of slanders, yet take violent offense at every slight real or imagined. The Left even codifies that double standard by turning the language on its head in Orwellian fashion to make political evils appealing. Tolerance becomes a pretty name for exclusion, diversity a lofty term for bigotry. Censorship in the form of restrictive speech codes on college campuses around the country are enacted in the name of free speech.

But it doesn’t stop at the language. Abuse of authority and political power has become SOP on the Left. Cynthia Dixon was fired from her job as a college human resources director for her contrary Christian opinion on homosexuality, voiced in a local paper’s editorial page in response to a lefty lesbian faculty member’s pro-gay oped in the same.

The lesbian faculty member’s job, however, was never in danger, even after spewing incredibly vile vitriol at Dixon, with included the obligatory ‘racist bigot homophobe!’ Ironically, Cynthia Dixon is African-American. Where’s the EEOC when you need them? Unfortunately. Ms. Dixon is the wrong shade of black, i.e. Christian conservative. For more information on that subject, ref Michael Steele and Clarence Thomas. See, they’re not REAL minorities. They’re all Uncle Toms, don’t you know.

I’m sorry, who are the racists here again?

Harvard president Larry Summers was run out of his job on a rail for repeating a research-supported but politically incorrect scientific opinion on how men’s and women’s brains may work differently. So much for Veritas. But science is not a factor to the Left. Politics and ideology is all. State-employed climatologists were fired in Washington and Oregon for not toeing the Global Warming line. Lord Christopher Monckton, who holds an opposing view to Al Gore’s on Global Warming, was shut out of Congressional hearings the day after he flew over from England to testify.

See, to the egalitarian Left, all opinions are equal. It’s just that some are more equal than others.

The Left’s championing of women’s rights is also a sham. They routinely and publicly degrade women who don’t fit their ideological template. They publish and fall all over themselves laughing at a ‘Top Ten Conservative Women I’d Like To Hate-Fuck’ rape list and slander Sarah Palin without end, even joking about her being gang-raped. Carrie Prejean is derided as a fascist bitch and a cunt for voicing the same opinion on marriage as President Obama and most American citizens.

You see the pattern that’s emerging here? When has anyone on the Left been fired for expressing pro-gay views? When has Al Gore ever been shut out of speaking, as Lord Monckton was by liberal Democrats in Congress? Or attacked physically, as routinely happens to Ann Coulter and other conservative speakers on college campuses like clockwork?

If you want to talk extremism, left-wing extremists in America have been guilty of some very serious crimes in the last decade, as highlighted above. Again, you won’t find any of those crimes in the New York Times extremist hit list. No, let’s forget about all that left-wing extremist mayhem and hold talk radio and FOX News responsible for the acts of politically twisted or mentally disturbed individuals, as they seek to hold all mainstream conservatives responsible today for every violent act committed by lone psychos.

You want to blame Bill O’Reilly for Dr. Tiller’s death? What if President Bush had been assassinated by some lone leftie nutjob while he was President? Who would have been responsible? The assassin? Or everyone on the Left who encouraged Bush’s assassination with relish and glee? What about the white powder mailings to the Mormon Church by radical gay activists? Should we start FBI surveillance on the Prop H8 crowd because of the extremist acts of a few?

Should we clamp down on all American Muslims because of the violence domestic jihadis plotted or carried out, as with Little Rock, Fort Dix and the recent attempted bombing of a New York synagogue? Why is all the focus on the right side of the political spectrum, and all of the evils of the extreme Left being totally whitewashed or ignored today? Don’t answer, it’s a rhetorical question.

I have to tell you, people. I’m really starting to fear for this country. Left-wing demagogues like Frank Rich, Paul Krugman, Keith Olbermann, the New York Times editorial board, and all the others in the so-called mainstream media, branding all conservatives with the same bloody brushes as lone wolf psychos that have long been a problem in this country and always will be, not to mention all the shutting down of political discourse by inspiring fear, hatred and intimidation against the minority party, are doing a lot more damage to the fabric of this society, and American democracy itself, than a James von Brunn ever could with a .22 rifle.

I’ve got a radical right wing extremist idea. Why don’t we leave the nutjobs to law enforcement, and try to engage in the honored American tradition of healthy and vigorous political discourse without enacting new Nuremburg decrees or shredding the Constitution? Isn’t championing freedom of speech and expression and human rights what the Left is all about? So they say?

It is long past time for the Left to live up that credo. Because if the firings, shutting off of debate, censorship bills now in Congress, and the relentless demonization of the political opposition continues relentlessly and without end, as it has for so many years now, I’m just liable to think the dividing line between mainstream liberalism and the hate-filled totalitarian left-wing crowd has been virtually erased. You got all that, Paul? Frank? Pinchy? Keith? Janet? David? KOS? HuffPo?

GROW UP! I’m sick of dealing with a bunch of full-grown screaming control-freak toddlers! The Right isn’t going anywhere. In fact, our stars are ascending. FOX News and conservative blogs are putting the MSM out of business. And there’s a huge amount of discontent across the political spectrum over liberal Democrat policies since the Left took power.

The 2010 elections are starting to look a lot like 1994’s. And tell the truth, guys. Doesn’t that scare the hell out of you all a lot more than one or two lone shooters? And don’t just call me a right wing extremist. Let’s talk about the issues. I’m a reasonable guy. Don’t even own a gun. But just because I support the Second Amendment doesn’t make me a gun nut. I support it because it’s a Constitutional right. See how easy rational debate works? You all ought to try it sometime.

Last word. I opposed President Obama’s candidacy from the start. I disliked his polices, and I especially disliked his associations with real bomb-throwing extremists like Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn and racial hatemongers like Rev. Wright. I spoke out on blogs like this for a year against candidate Obama, and everything he and liberal Democrats stood for.

Yet shortly after Obama was elected President in November, I noticed a security vulnerability that fell within my area of expertise and called the Secret Service right away. Fortunately, they knew all about it. See, despite my extreme distaste for President Obama’s policies and associations, the American people spoke loud and clear last November. Barack Obama is now President of the United States.

As such, he represents a hallowed tradition of political stability and continuity of a government and most benevolent political system that I hold sacred, and is the envy of much of the world. I defended that system for six years in uniform, and would defend it again if need be. How ironic I must vigorously defend it today against those who profess to be its greatest champions.

There’s a right wing extremist for you, Lefties. Oh, and by the way, I and other conservatives like David Horowitz have spoken out loudly against the extremists in our ranks. Where was the condemnation of unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers on the day after 9/11, when he said in the New York Times that he hadn’t done enough? Why is he revered instead of reviled? Don’t answer, it’s a rhetorical question. But it does make me wonder who the real extremists are here.

After all, you don’t see the right glorifying politically-motivated mass murderers. Hmm. Curious.

Back in the fifties (the nineteen fifties, not the eighteen fifties) I did some writing for Mad Magazine, along with my friend Ernie Kovaks and a pair of comics named Bob and Ray. Bob Elliot was the father of Chris Elliot, who we didn’t know at the time would turn out to be funnier than his dad. The magazine was started by a guy named Al Feldstein. Well, actually, it was started by a guy named Harvey Kurtzman, a brilliant genius who lasted three issues and then got kicked off his own creation by the publisher, who hired Feldstein to take over. I guess Kurtzman was a little too nuts even for Mad. He was a powerhouse of a guy whose girlfriend at the time was a hot young babe named Gloria Steinem. Men are attracted to youth and beauty; women are attracted to power.

Anyway, I guess Feldstein was just crazy enough to make the magazine a huge success. Now long retired and living in Montana (which seems to be a magnet for marginally crazy people), Feldman, an old lefty, recently forwarded an e-mail to a friend of a friend of mine who forwarded it to me. A million plus people have watched this e-mail by now. It’s a slickly produced film attacking Barack Obama. Any surprise that the President’s base is now turning on him? It explains that he (Obama), is in the pocket of some amorphous, only hinted-at, world-wide society of manipulators who are behind everything bad in the world: “The Trilateral Commission, founded and conceived by David Rockefeller and his obscenely wealthy (redundancy?) Bilderberg Society cohorts… an amalgam of carefully chosen members of ‘The Elite’… the powerful rich… from the three main areas of the world: The U.S.A…. Europe… and Japan… who would slowly and carefully maneuver the free people of the Earth into a ‘One World’ system of Corporate/Fascism.” This is very old stuff. Conspiracy fodder. Been around for years in one form or another. International bankers turning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico into a single country, etc. And it’s all slickly packaged with music and graphics.

Left-wingers and right-wingers come together when they become extreme enough. The Nazi Party was called National Socialism, very similar to Stalin’s Communism, with the addition of “the Fatherland”. The crazies behind this film say they are non-partisan. They are: they’re equal-opportunity haters. They’ll never be satisfied until they are standing in the smoldering ruins of society… any society. They only feel comfortable in chaos. They whip up people’s fears and then give those fears something to latch onto.

The internet (as we are constantly reminded) is a powerful tool for good or for evil. This stuff is evil. It never goes away, and like all evil, it’s seductively attractive. No conservative can ever be conservative enough nor any liberal liberal enough to satisfy the conspiracy crowd. They are political nymphomaniacs, obsessive but incapable of satisfaction, and the stuff they disseminate is like pornography; once hooked on it you need more and more. Like the title of the late Marilyn Chambers flick, they are “Insatiable.”

In March, Andrew Breitbart was on a TV panel with a left-wing, intellectual African-American civil rights activist who, when asked if the election of Obama was at least a step forward, replied, “Just because one Black man is living in ‘public housing’ in Washington D. C., does not an end to racism make.” Nothing would satisfy him. If every white person in America were killed, he would turn on the remaining African-Americans and say they had been polluted and were Uncle Toms.

I’ve got no ending for this piece. I don’t know what to think. Everything’s a mess. The country is more divided than it has been since the war between the states. I’m not outraged by the left or the right. In my day, I’ve been both. One year I proudly sported on my refrigerator a Christmas card from the Young Republicans and Season’s Greetings from Gus Hall of the American Communist Party. The only people I intensely dislike are the ones who throw shit in the fan just to see everybody scurry out of the way.

I’m not a pessimist. I do believe that in some way we don’t understand, God has a hand in things and it will all work out for America. Our money says In God We Trust. And we are the best country, aren’t we?

You all know the drill. The recent vague and controversial DHS report on right-wing extremism, the cover of which DHS might just as well have put on the Republican Party platform. The endless puerile teabagging jokes from the fourth estate’s finest, giggling into their microphones like ten-year-olds who just found a tittie mag.

CNN reporter Susan Roesgen even called a Tea Party “anti-government and anti-CNN” when her pro-government handout rant to a Tea Partier was rudely interrupted. Ms. Roesgen took particular offense at a sign of Obama with a Hitler moustache. “Why be so hard on the President of the United States though with such an offensive message?” the offended Ms. Roesgen asked.

Yet in 2006, Ms. Roesgen was perfectly comfortable with this Satan/Hitler Bush mask, jokingly calling it a Bush ‘look-alike.’ I guess it all depends on which POTUS you’re hard on. Right, Suzie?

And therein lies the rub. Dissent was SO patriotic not so long ago, wasn’t it? Dissent against war, dissent against torture, dissent against wiretapping, dissent against Gitmo, dissent against rendition, dissent against government abuse of power. In fact, now-Secretary of State Clinton was quite vocal on the matter back in the day:

“I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic. And we should stand up and say we are Americans, and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration!”

Right On, Hillary! You Go, Girl! Why is that all different now? I thought she said any administration. Heard plenty of cheers then. Only jeers now. Why is that? Wouldn’t be a double standard, would it?

Example. If President Bush and Karl Rove targeted private citizens like Al Franken and Michael Moore with the power, authority, consent and political weight of the White House, the death camp talk from the Left wouldn’t have been far behind. It never was anyway, but especially in that case. There’d certainly be plenty of ‘left wing chatter’ on the Internet rehashing Nixon’s Enemies’ List.

Yet President Obama and Rahm Emmanuel did that very same thing to Rush Limbaugh. Yawn. And now we find that NSA intercepts of Americans have skyrocketed in recent months under the Obama Administration, and well beyond limits set by Congress. The NSA called it “an over-collection of domestic communications in America.”

Over-collection on whom, exactly? DHS-declared extremist threats? Or ‘right wing chatter’? Funny. I never saw the term ‘left wing chatter’ used in any government report. In fact, the term ‘left wing chatter’ isn’t even in the DHS report on possible left wing cyber attacks! How bad is that? In fact, the only other place I’ve seen that term used by the government is for ‘chatter’ on Al Qaeda websites.

I know I’m going to hear it from Lefties now: “See how we felt under the BusHitler?” Um, no, I don’t. What weren’t you free to say? That Bush engineered 9/11 and murdered 3000 innocent civilians to start a war? That you wanted Bush and Cheney dead? That you wanted the Iraq War to fail? We can’t even say we want Obama to fail without it being a federal case with talk of censorship!

Actually, more than talk.

Wouldn’t be the first time. What have we come to, when freedom-championing Liberal Democrats pass petitions around in Congress to shut up the most popular radio talk show host in America? One thing it definitely says: The Old Patriotism is out, and the New Patriotism is in.

Talk of shutting up Rush, even from the White House. Sorry. We had to deal with Air America, KOS and HuffPo. Your turn. And I really hate sore winners who try to change the rules in mid-game. Like issuing a national security report that covers the opposition party’s entire platform, and is so vague we can even be snitched out to the police for political thought. Sound familiar?

This DHS report doesn’t quell paranoia. It fuels it. And it ain’t paranoia when every law enforcement agency in the country now has DHS guidelines on Right Wing Extremism so broad, individuals who oppose abortion, illegal immigration, even the federal government itself, are suspect.

It’s one thing for Hillary Clinton to call us a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy out of spite. Quite another for the Department of Homeland Security to do so officially on paper.

I’m getting a very creepy feeling, people. It’s like the government, the press, and the freedom-championing American Left, who now rule supreme, see their big chance and are now looking to silence the Right once and for all through ridicule, demonization, even intimidation through official government reports to law enforcement.

Unnamed individuals with views that don’t adhere to the present government’s on abortion, illegal immigration, even the Second and Tenth Amendments to the Constitution, are called out in the DHS report. Makes me wonder who the real extremists are here.

In short, dissent is now unpatriotic. Tea Parties are being falsely linked to White Supremacy and neo-Nazi groups by both the press and Members of Congress. Public demonstrations against high taxes and spending, which reporters ridicule and call ‘anti-government.’ A member of the press calling a peaceful public protest ‘anti-government’ while spouting government policy?

What have we come to as a nation?

Good question. I’m keeping my eyes peeled, people. You should too. For any more government issue insanity like DHS’ Right Wing Extremism report which, though not as severe as Hitler’s Night and Fog Decree, is just about as broad. Or the Fairness Doctrine, which is less fairness and more doctrine, and could even regulate web content. Just like Iran and China do. Feeling better now?

And that’s just on top of their usual insanity.

I can at least take comfort that the outrageous DHS report on Right Wing Extremism has made strange bedfellows of Michelle Malkin and Rolling Stone. Hope Springs Eternal. And to all reasonable Lefties everywhere (I know there are a few), please stop asking us why we weren’t protesting this stuff for eight years, and just look at why the hell we’re protesting it now, okay?

Our bad! You happy? Actually, I better watch it now. I already have one strike against me.

I’m a Vet, you see. I could go either way.

Actually, I will go one step further. President Obama, liberal Democrats and non-extremist left wingers (I know there are a few) need to grow much thicker skins politically, before they start drifting into dangerous political waters themselves. Bush didn’t give one hoot about Michael Moore, Al Franken or Air America, even when Randy Rhodes simulated his assassination on the air.

Yet Rush seems as dug under the collar of President Obama, Rahm Emmanuel, liberal Democrats and Lefties as a bloodthirsty tick. Sorry, but Bush had his ticks, too. They all did. Every last POTUS there ever was. Goes with the territory. It’s called free speech and democracy. Deal with it.

You have a lot more important business to attend to than Rush Limbaugh and Tea Parties. Besides, even if you did manage to get Rush off the air, think of all the tax revenue you’d lose. Not very smart.

And could sombody please tell CNN’s Susan Roesgen to either report the news or get the hell off the air? We already know what the government’s position is. That’s why we’re OUT there!

Peter Maas you ain’t, lady.

THIS JUST IN: Radio talk show nuke Michael Savage, along with the Thomas Moore Law Center, is suing DHS for civil liberties violations over the RWE report. They may have grounds. The DHS Civil Liberties Division objected to the broad language of the RWE report, but DHS issued it over their objections anyway. How’s THAT for our stalwarts of liberty guarding the gates?

Starting to look more like foxes in a chicken coop. I hope the heat keeps pouring on President Obama and Janet Napolitano until she has to resign. She’s earned that heat. Unlike those she so broadly called out in her official report.

Speaking of heat, here’s DHS. Here’s the White House. Here’s Congress.

Credit where credit is due. This is from an ACLU blog. Take friends where we can get ‘em.

“If these “intelligence” reports described recent crimes and the people who perpetrated them, there would be little problem from a civil rights perspective, and it could actually be helpful to the average police officer.

‘Instead, they have followed a “radicalization” theory popularized by the NYPD (PDF). That theory postulates that there is a “path” to terrorism that includes the adoption of certain beliefs, and political, religious, or social activism is viewed as another step toward violence.

‘Actual empirical studies of terrorism conducted in the Netherlands and Britain refute this theory, but the idea that hard-to-find terrorists can be caught by spying on easy-to-find activists appears too hard to resist to U.S. law enforcement.”

On that note, you all need to know about regional DHS Fusion Centers. There’s 58 of them around the country. Update: 70. Many are privately run. They were originally set up by DHS after 9/11 as local anti-terrorism information processing centers, but there are signs now they’re being politicized well beyond that scope. Just like DHS with their report. And with our tax dollars. $250 million worth.

Feeling good yet? If not, how about this nugget from Big Janet herself, who called fusion centers, many of them operated privately through grants, “the centerpiece of state, local, and federal intelligence-sharing for the future.” For what right now look like political profiling centers. Great.

Former FBI agent Mike German, now with the ACLU, also has a different take than Big Jan.

“We’ve built this network, and nobody’s policing it,” says Mike German, a former FBI agent now with the ACLU. “Nobody knows exactly what each fusion center is doing. … Even the best fusion centers operate under a cloak of secrecy.” Part of the problem, German says, is that fusion centers fall in a “no-man’s-land” between federal and state governments.

‘Such ambiguity can lead fusion centers to pick and choose which rules apply to them. A 2007 study by the Government Accountability Office found that one-third of all fusion centers reported a lack of guidance on the proper handling of information, including privacy and civil-liberties concerns.’

Gives the term fusion new meaning. Well, an old one, actually. FYI. Need To Know. It all figures in.

Good Night and Good Luck.

TO: ALL LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES

FM: DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY

SUBJ: NATIONWIDE ALERT – KNOW RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS BY THEIR BUMPER STICKERS!

Per the Guidelines of the Department of Homeland Security’s recent report, all units and law enforcement agencies are notified to be on the lookout (BOLO) for potential Right-Wing Extremists. Since the report’s guidelines are exceedingly general and non-specific, we here at DHS will provide the necessary details in order for state and local LE officials to round up the usual suspects.

Usual Suspect

First, Right-Wing Extremists are often known to display their radical sympathies on bumper stickers. This could be as simple a matter as a Confederate flag on a pickup truck, but often involves stated extremist messages like ABORTION KILLS, BABIES ARE NOT SPARE PARTS (they are), and ADOPTION: THE CARING OPTION (it isn’t, spare parts is).

In this instance, it is best to keep a safe distance and follow the unsub’s vehicle, to where fellow right-wing extremists of like mind are no doubt plotting their next abortion clinic massacre.

In the case of bumper stickers like I’D RATHER BE TRIED BY TWELVE THAN CARRIED BY SIX, or I’LL GIVE YOU MY GUN WHEN YOU TAKE IT FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS, once again, keep a safe distance and follow the unsub’s vehicle to the Timothy McVeigh-influenced militia group of which they are a part.

If you see bumper stickers such as WHAT PART OF ILLEGAL DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND, AMNESTY SUCKS or SPEAK ENGLISH, these messages indicate strong nationalist, and most likely racist, tendencies of the unsubs driving these vehicles.

Stop the vehicle and ask the driver just what exactly he/she meant by it. On the off-chance the driver is an illegal alien, and the bumper sticker a remnant of its past right-wing extremist owner, follow standard procedure and give the undocumented immigrant a pass, no questions asked.

Some Right-Wing Extremist bumper stickers indicate hostility toward the Federal Government, and even the Obamamessiah himself. It is these radicals who represent the most clear and present danger to our Republic, as well as to law enforcement officers themselves. Let’s face it. If they don’t love Washington, you think they care about cops?

Such bumper messages as TIME FOR A TEA PARTY, DON’T TAX ME, BRO, PORKULUS PIG, DON’T BLAME ME, I VOTED FOR McCAIN, or other similar anti-government and anti-Messiah messages, should be a red flag to all LE officers nationwide. Approach with extreme caution. Deadly Force is authorized. It may have taken us a few days to authorize the killing of pirates, but we know who the real enemies of America are here. You have Carte Blanche.

Should you encounter any bumper stickers indicating military service, unit designation, or general pro-military sympathies, flip a coin. They could go either way.

Though you may encounter some extremist-appearing bumper stickers like KILL BUSH, NO BLOOD FOR OIL, WHO WOULD JESUS TORTURE, WAR IS NOT PRO-LIFE, LA RAZA, BILL AYERS IS THE BOMB or bumper stickers that bear the Aztlan or ‘reconquista’ emblem, ignore them.

Those aren’t the droids we’re looking for.
