‘Daily Show’ Brilliantly Exposes President of ‘Civility Project’ Who Smeared Tea Partiers as ‘Terrorists’

While Stephen Colbert desperately attention-whores himself by running for President of South Carolins or something, “The Daily Show” hits a satirical grand slam:

Stewart Eviscerates Herman Cain, Trump Cries Racism

by John Nolte

The Donald doesn’t make his case very well. In fact, I had to watch both his clip and the Stewart clip twice to understand the charge (you can watch both below).

My guess is that Trump is upset over the way in which Stewart’s voice changes at right around the 3:50 mark when the “Daily Show” host assumes the role of Cain while making a joke about the Lindbergh baby.

Stewart has been criticized in the past for mocking Cain with a “black  dialect,” and Trump has had to defend more then a few phony charges of racism created out of nothing by Obama’s MSM Palace Guards. Therefore, since he wasn’t given the benefit of the doubt, Trump’s probably wondering why Stewart is.

Personally, I’m not seeing the racism. Stewart just sounds like Bing Crosby to me, but I don’t mind seeing leftists hoisted by their own petard. Hyper-sensitivity and fascistic political correctness are of their own making, and Stewart is one of America’s top 10 Speech Policers.

I do wonder, though, how the MSM would react in the exact same circumstance if it was Dennis Miller mocking Barack Obama instead of Jon Stewart mocking Herman Cain.

What Jon Stewart Didn’t Tell His Audience About Occupy Oakland

Yes, yes, I know, Jon  Stewart had his clown nose on and is therefore allowed to lie by omission because *raise voice to near-squeak like Stewart does* it’s only comedy!

But for those of you who get your news from The New Murrow Who Doesn’t Take Himself At All Seriously Because He’s Just A Comedian, there’s…

Apparently Jon Stewart Won’t Tolerate Being Mocked

by John Nolte

What a treasure trove of information this is. If you recall, in 2007 during the writer’s strike, Jon Stewart kept his show on the air under the absurd claim there was no writing going on — or something. If anyone in showbiz didn’t have to worry about his career losing steam through the strike, it was Stewart.

But Stewart chose scab over principled solidarity, MacFarlane’s “Family Guy” gave him a tweak over it, and…

Jon Stewart Defends Hank Williams Jr.

by John Nolte
—–

It was absurdly obvious Hank Williams Jr. was using a metaphor — a horribly misguided one when referencing the president of the United States, but a metaphor nonetheless, and the hysteria over this has been  jaw-dropping, calculated, phony, and ginned up. I don’t like hearing my president compared to Hitler — didn’t like it when Bush was president, don’t like it now with Obama in office — but compared to, you know, the ACTUAL comparisons we’ve seen from the Left comparing Bush to Hitler, Williams Jr. sounds pretty tame.

Anyway, my colleague Dana Loesch is one of the few who got this exactly right. This is an ESPN story, not a Hank Williams Jr. story.

And as much as I love me some “Fox and Friends,” Stewart’s opening bust is a pretty clean one.  This is why we avoid the whole “Shut Up and Sing” mentality at “Big Hollywood.”It’s just a fact that celebs can have an impact on the politics downstream from them. Sometimes that impact can be used for good and sometimes not. Do I care what Roseanne says? Yes, I do. She’s a moron but the MSM will always find her useful to create distractions and her nihilistic approach is very appealing to young people looking for a reason to not give damn about anything other than stroking their own narcissism — which means you’re pulling the lever marked “D.”

Jon Stewart Sours on Obama: Disappointed President ‘Deferred To the Legislative Process’

by John Nolte

***UPDATE: Once again the outstanding BH community embarrasses me with their insight. Stewart being bummed with Obama deferring to the legislative process is very revealing, and I missed it completely. Good catch. Please go on about your business of being awesome and note the updated headline.

The Left’s growing disappointment with Obama only has to do with his current approval rating. I can guarantee you that if the President did everything exactly the way he’s doing now but was at 55% approval as opposed to 39% and on his way to easy re-election, Jon Stewart and the rest would be overjoyed with the job Obama’s doing. The Left simply must blame “the job the President is doing” because they can’t face the fact that the policies Obama put into place have failed because those are the policies the Left has believed in for generations. To stare into the abyss and admit their own ideas don’t work is too much to bear. So instead, we get this:

Stewart in Rolling Stone:

“Obama ran on this idea that the system and the methodology are corrupt. It felt like the country was upset enough that he had the momentum needed to re-evaluate how business is done. Instead, when he got elected, he acted as though the system is so entrenched that it has to be managed rather than – I don’t want to say decimated, because I’m not an anarchist or a nihilist. But I’m surprised at how much he deferred to the legislative process. He’s accomplished some things, and I’m sure he’s pleased with what he’s done, but I would have preferred to see something a little bit more transformative. They haven’t made the case that government can be effective, or accountable, or agile.”

Jon Stewart Gushes Over Rapper On Record Opposing Interracial Relationships

by Hollywoodland
—–

The idea here is to paint conservatives as prudes and hold tight to that narrative at all costs. The idea here is to pretend there was no legitimate reason for opposing Common’s White House invitation.

When the Left rose up to defend Common’s White House invite, they only focused on criticism of the rapper’s lyrics (which was silly). What they intentionally ignored and continue to ignore is Common’s 2005 statement opposing interracial relationships.

That kind of talk is indefensible unless, of course, you’re a Leftist. And most especially if the airing of such a thing will hurt a Democrat president.

When Jon Stewart’s good — he’s good. And he closes the segment in perfectly fair territory, by criticizing Rep. Michele Bachmann with her own statements.

It really is too bad Newsweek editor Tina Brown was unable to control her worst instincts.  With last month’s cover story of Sarah Palin — which was widely praised — it looked as though Brown might have decided to revive the leftist rag’s awful reputation for bias. But as the saying goes…

Jon Stewart’s Perfect Spewing of Left-Wing, Anti-Tea Party Talking Points

by John Nolte

Looks as though someone got the DNC memo:

—–

Man oh man, Jon Stewart has the left-wing spin and talking points down cold, doesn’t he? No one with even a smidgen of intellectual honesty uses the term “revenues increases,” and to blame the Bush tax cuts (or any tax cuts) on the deficit — especially after Obama’s unprecedented spending orgy — is nothing more than pure propaganda.

Do Tea Partiers want government gone? No.

Do Tea Partiers want to pay zero dollars in taxes? No.

But if you got your news from Jon Stewart, you wouldn’t know that. And God help us all, people do get their news from Jon Stewart.

Steven Crowder Issues Challenge to Jon Stewart: Come Out of the Ideological Closet

by John Nolte

Just so that I have this right… We have an actual letter from a senior producer at the “Daily Show” who says declaratively, “we never book conservative pundits” and no one cares. Not even the Usual MSM Suspects who howl at the first sign of any kind of discrimination against anyone … who’s not a white, Christian, conservative male. In fact, after all that damning audio released by Ben Shapiro with his “Primtetime Propaganda,” all we got from Patrick Goldstein over at the L.A. Times was his assurance there’s nothing to see here … because he talked to an Emmy winner who assured him there’s no discrimination.

That’s some real Woodward and Bernsteining going on over the Incredible Shrinking L.A. Times, I tell ya.

Well, we do have this and we do have Steven Crowder sounding the alarm for all conservatives who asking from the entertainment industry for nothing more than a level playing field. As Steven told me in his email, “This isn’t about me, it’s about the systemic form of discrimination everyone on the right faces in this business.” And he’s right. This isn’t about him and there’s absolutely no upside for him in going public. In fact, he’s all but lost his manager over this.

As we all know. whistle blowers always pay a price, especially right-of-center whistle blowers who are usually destroyed or ignored by the left-wing media instead of turned into overnight folk-heroes like their left-wing counterparts.

—–

Crowder issued this challenge on Saturday. Thus far Stewart’s only answered in his usual cowardly way: savaging our side to the delight of the MSM under the guise of a New Murrow Satirist.

Herman Cain Fires Back: Jon Stewart ‘Mocked Me With Amos and Andy’ Voice

Larry Elder writes:

It would be unfair to call Jon Stewart a racist but when he mocked GOP presidential contender Herman Cain as essentially an illiterate, on Thursday’s show, it has to be asked wouldn’t Stewart and his cronies at The Daily Show have satirized any sort of conservative talk show host, like a Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity, as a bigot if they had joked that President Barack Obama didn’t “like to read?”

Liberal Salon to Jon Stewart: ‘Actually, You Are an Activist’

by John Nolte

Salon writer Will Bunch is such a Jon Stewart fan that he gets antsy when the “Daily Show” goes on vacation. But  he’s also disappointed in Stewart’s stubborn and dishonest refusal to acknowledge his true political motivations. Greg Gutfeld, George Carlin, Bill Maher and Richard Pryor are (to use Stewart’s words) examples of comedians “informed by an ideological background.” Jon Stewart is a full-blown activist and the damage he’s doing to his own brand in denying the obvious has been pretty spectacular to watch.

Video courtesy of Ben Howe

Will Bunch at Salon:

But outside of “The Daily Show,” in interviews like the one he gave to Chris Wallace and even his famous 2004 confrontation that may or may not have killed CNN’s “Crossfire,” I find that Stewart (and it pains me to say this, as such a fan) can come across as kind of lame, his “media criticism” beyond trite. In interviews, his complaints against the media tend to be an unsophisticated “pox on all of your houses.” I thought his largely pointless D.C. mall rally in late October repeated the mistake he makes in these interviews — trying to argue that our discourse is too loud while ignoring the real point that he hammers home on “The Daily Show,” that our politics is irrational.

But the lamest thing of all, frankly, is Stewart trying to absolve responsibility from the gravitas of what he does — and make no mistake, the gravitas is there — by claiming that merely, “I am a comedian.” That’s true, but he fails to see what many others realize, which is that he is also much more than a comedian. In a world where far too much of highly paid professional journalism, especially inside the Beltway, has become a joke, it has fallen on the comedians — Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Bill Maher perhaps the most prominent — to say what on-one-hand, on-the-other hand journalists are too tied up in knots to tell you, that much of America’s discourse in 2011 is bat-guano insane.

Jon Stewart’s Claim Fox News’ Viewers are Misinformed Isn’t His Only False Statement

by John Nolte

In the past I’ve made my distaste for MSM fact-checkers pretty clear. No one owns the truth, no one has the right to declare what is and isn’t true. Certainly, some things are objectively true, but too often these self-appointed MSM fact-checkers are used by others in the mainstream media as cover to pretend they’re objective as they intentionally and dishonestly taint our side as liars. See: panels, death.  As Mickey Kaus writes, Politifact “has no place in an open, honest democratic debate.” I couldn’t agree more. Furthermore, the more our side can work neutralize them prior to 2012, the safer our democracy will be.  What sites like these can be useful for, however, is a place for research and analysis that allows you to come to your own conclusion.

And so in the case of Jon Stewart’s repeated claims on last week’s Fox News Sunday that “every poll” proves that Fox News viewers are the “most consistently misinformed,” the Daily Show host was either misinformed himself or just making something up to save his uncharacteristically defensive ass from a near-trainwreck of an interview that likely did his brand little good:

On the June 19, 2011, edition of Fox News Sunday, comedian Jon Stewart — host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central — sat down for an interview with Chris Wallace. Many readers asked us to review one of his claims. …

So we have three Pew studies that superficially rank Fox viewers low on the well-informed list, but in several of the surveys, Fox isn’t the lowest, and other general-interest media outlets — such as network news shows, network morning shows and even the other cable news networks — often score similarly low. Meanwhile, particular Fox shows — such as The O’Reilly Factor and Sean Hannity’s show — actually score consistently well, occasionally even outpacing Stewart’s own audience.

Jon Stewart to Chris Wallace: ‘My comedy is informed by an ideological background’

by Hollywoodland

—–

Daily Mail:

‘I’m a comedian first. My comedy is informed by an ideological background, there’s no question about that.

But the thing that you will never understand…is that Hollywood, yeah, they’re liberal, but that’s not their primary motivating force. I’m not an activist. I am a comedian.’

Addressing issues of bias in the main stream media, Stewart responded:  ‘Do I want my voice heard.

‘Absolutely, that’s why I got into comedy. Am I an activist, in your mind? A partisan ideological activist.

Mr Wallace answered with a short, ‘Yeah.’

‘Okay, then I disagree with you.’ Stewart said.

Exposed and Angry: Jon Stewart’s Mad At Me!

When Ben Shapiro approached me, asking me to put a face to the anti-conservative, discriminatory practices in Hollywood (along with providing tangible examples), I had no idea what I was in for. “Sure, I can just send you the most recent one that comes to mind,” I said flippantly. Well here we are, two weeks later, manager-less and having ticked off one of the most powerful men in comedy.

Eh, it’s Hollywood folks. What can ya do?

World Wonders What Happened to Jon Stewart Who Said a Guilty Weiner’s ‘Got to go’

by John Nolte

What a difference a few days make. Jon Stewart goes from saying if Anthony Weiner is guilty he’s got to go to … this:

The Daily Show

—–

Jon Stewart has made no secret of the fact that he and Rep. Anthony Weiner have been friends for years and if you go back and look at “Daily Show” clips over the past week, you can see that Stewart seemed pretty sure his old friend was the victim of a hack. So I’m actually somewhat sympathetic to Stewart’s situation here. After all, yesterday he had to watch a good friend humiliate himself in front of the whole world with a tearful confession. That couldn’t have been easy. Furthermore, Stewart also watched Andrew Breitbart get vindicated in a way you only see in contrived movies. And so anyone expecting Jon Stewart to be Jon Stewart yesterday, I think, expected too much. Throughout all of this — though I’m no fan of Stewart’s, I do give him credit for straddling the story the best he possibly could. Believing in and showing loyalty to a friend is no vice and that he made that conflict a part of his coverage only made it better.

Where Stewart did fail, however, was in the way he attacked the media. David Zurawik of  the Baltimore Sun writes:

‘Primetime Propaganda’: ‘Daily Show’ Tells Steven Crowder ‘We Never Book Conservative Pundits’

by Steven Crowder

You’ve heard about it, now you get to see it first-hand. Here we have a senior producer at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart shutting somebody out specifically for being right-of-center. The person…? Yours truly.

Listen, I’m not one of those folks who yells “free speech” every time I don’t get my way. Jon Stewart’s program is a private entity and they can do whatever they damn well please. Just know this from here on out; if you have a different point of view than Jon Stewart… you don’t get to work with Jon Stewart.
