‘Social Network’ Scribe: ‘Sarah Palin’s an Idiot’

by John Nolte

—–

You gotta love Leftist Hollywood. What a marketing plan. Three days after your multi-million dollar movie has an okay but nothing spectacular opening weekend, you send out into the world one of the film’s most recognizable faces (in asshole glasses, no less) to insult half your potential audience.

What’s hilarious is how defensive Aaron Sorkin is at the very mention of Sarah Palin’s name. Obviously Mama Grizzly is so deep in Mr. West Wing’s head that he finds it necessary to defend his Americanism when no one asked (or cares). It is odd, though, how he uses his father’s resume to lay out the case for his American bona fides instead of listing his own selfless contributions to this great country of ours. But I guess, I made a gajillion dollars and spent it almost killing myself with illegal drugs at the Marmont, lacks the patriotic zing the moment requires.

Who’s the idiot, again? (more…)

O’Keefe Owes His Supporters an Explanation

by Andrew Breitbart

I proudly stood behind James O’Keefe on his groundbreaking ACORN investigation. I also defended him when the media, including CNN — during a previous regime, “the Rick Sanchez era” — falsely reported the Sen. Mary Landrieu story as a “wiretapping” plot gone wrong.

In all these cases the left-leaning media exposed its obvious bias against James because of his contrarian point of view and because the targets of his investigations are protected institutions of the Democrat Media Complex.

However, in my dealings with Ms. Boudreau, she and her producer, Scott Zamost, conducted themselves professionally, and I believe James owes them a candid and public explanation.

From what I’ve read about this script, though not executed, it is patently gross and offensive. It’s not his detractors to whom he also owes this public airing. It’s to his legion of supporters.

Sean Penn Trashes Wyclef Jean: Stooge For American Corporate Interests

by John Nolte

As usual, Sean Penn just can’t say enough bad things about America — and could he be more humorless? The real story here, however, is Penn’s relentlessly brutal trashing of the Fugee’s Wyclef Jean as some kind of stooge for American corporate interests. In-between a ton of innuendo and phrases like “I don’t know,” and “allegedly,” Penn’s obviously attempting to strangle the rapper’s bid to be the next Haitian president in the cradle.

—–

If Jean, who was born in Haiti, is smart, he’ll rip a page from the Barack Obama playbook, not answer any of Penn’s charges and simply write the actor off as a racist.

Oh, wait, maybe that’s not so smart.

Who knows, Penn might be  right about Jean. Then again, Penn might just be an elitist, socialist, narcissist, busybody who sees himself as the Great White Liberal Hope of Haiti which somehow makes it okay for him to poke his ignorant movie star nose into the domestic politics of a country other than his own (not that he’s a whole lot of help here).

I think you all know where my money is. (more…)

WikiLeaks Won’t WikiLeak on Themselves

by Greg Gutfeld

So, you know what’s been keeping me up at night?

My vertical sleeping bag.

But also, Wikileaks.

Wikileaks-founder-Julian--006

Defense Secretary Robert Gates says WikiLeaks is “morally” guilty for putting lives in danger – by exposing Afghan contacts, our intelligence methods, and screwing with our allies.

Last week, I suggested that Julian Assange did this to harm America – since the a-holes who want to kill us benefit most from his actions.

Also, it made him really famous. Good for you, Julie. Maybe you can finally afford conditioner.

And this leads me to pose this question: What if, back in 1943, an organization leaked the names of the members of the French Resistance? They would be seen as evil – and the good guys would take care of them. (more…)

Daily Gut: CNN Guffaws as Kathy Griffin Trashes Scott Brown’s Daughters

by Greg Gutfeld

So, how about that Kathy Griffin?

Check her out here, speaking truth to power!

 —–

Okay, I’m not sure what I love most about that clip…

That Griffin – who will do just about anything for a buck – calls Scott Brown’s daughters “prostitutes.”

  • The lame legal disclaimer that served only to show how cowardly her producers are.
  • The hysterical cackling of CNN’s Dana Bash….
  • Or the uncomfortable awkwardness of her husband John King. Yep, even his great hair can’t save him.

Anyway, Scott Brown’s office issued a statement, saying…” (more…)

Daily Gut: Our Precious Obama Succeeds With Failure

by Greg Gutfeld

So that weird sound you’re hearing right now is the collective hand-wringing of liberals both in government and in media, who can’t help but fret as the Great One’s poll numbers drop like an ACME safe on their enormous expectations.

And so the Politico website ruminates over the tragic contrast between Obama’s real achievements and our country’s growing disappointment in him.

obama-golf2-415x275

They point out that Obama has “moved swiftly toward achieving the very policy objectives he promised voters as a candidate,” which to me, is EXACTLY why we can’t stand him now.

Look at the comprehensive health care bill. It pleased the media – but for the rest of us? We got duped. (more…)

Telethon Highlights & Lowlights: Celebs Raise $1.3 Million For Gulf Oil Spill Victims

by Tim Slagle

Some of Hollywood’s biggest environmentalist stars got together on Larry King last night, to rally the nation around helping the gulf crisis. A special two-hour show aired on the barely-watched CNN network, to raise money and awareness. The money they raised was a little short, and the awareness they raised was of celebrity ignorance. Much like Obama’s new energy commission, there were very few experts out last night.

—–

While most telethons are about helping people this one seemed more concerned about the oil soaked animals. In fact two thirds of the proceeds went to environmental activist groups, The Nature Conservancy and the National Wildlife Federation. The United Way was there for the human victims, although very few of the stars seemed concerned about that aspect of the tragedy. Robert Redford made a response so comical; that it looked like it was a SNL skit (I’m saving that for the end).

The best example of the Telethon’s focus was voiced by Chelsea Handler:

“Everybody now is thinking about the animals, and and it’s really scary, especially for anybody, you know, espec… for-for a mill…  a bevy of reasons I mean we have to think about the animals out there. Everybody needs to be thinking about animals.”

Perhaps victims of the Nashville flood could have activated Hollywood behind their disaster had they shown pictures of drowning possums. (more…)

Trace Adkins: Country Music Star, Oil Rig Worker Calls Oil Drilling Moratorium ‘Idiotic’

by Big Hollywood

—–

Kudos to CNN’s Anderson Cooper for having someone on who not only knows of what he speaks from first-hand experience, but obviously wasn’t going to say what Cooper would’ve have liked him to say.

Adkins handles himself with the class of a true superstar. He doesn’t get partisan and keeps his informed criticism borne of actual experience focused where it should be: on policies and ideas instead of individuals. (more…)

Hollywood to Nashville & Gulf: Drop Dead!

by Pam Meister

So what gives? Are these areas just not glamorous enough? Do celebs not want to further highlight The One’s pathetic response?

Celebrities love causes. They love them for a couple of reasons: one, it makes them seem like “serious” people despite making a non-serious living as entertainers – or, as in the case of “professional reality show stars,” making a living by leeching off the system. Two, it’s free publicity. After all, you aren’t a celebrity if you aren’t being “celebrated” by an adoring public.

3119508

As such, celebrities often embrace “feel good causes” that enhance their PR value and their egos. Take “green living,” for instance. Why all the Hollywood hooh hah about carbon footprints and other such nonsense? Christopher Grey of WND has a theory:

Celebrities want attention, but they also want credibility because they typically don’t have any. Environmentalism is an easy cause for them to promote to get attention and at the same time appear somehow thoughtful and even educated because it is allegedly based on science. Of course none of this has anything do with reality, but this is the entertainment business. Reality is not important at all. Image is everything. Talking about recycling, stopping offshore drilling, solar power, and electric cars is a lot easier than really trying to do something for people in the world like feeding the hungry, helping abused children, or building houses for the homeless.

It also deflects attention from the obvious fact that celebrities are often some of the most wasteful, energy inefficient, materialistic, shallow, and superficial people in our society. A classic recent example was James Cameron, who talked about how his film, Avatar, was a shining example of environmentalism. Obama echoed this praise. This was the most expensive movie ever made about a war on an alien planet. What exactly about this movie helped to conserve resources or save our planet? The answer is absolutely nothing.

Daily Gut: A Nation of Hall Monitors

by Greg Gutfeld

So, as usual, I was at the gym straddling the stairclimber (Sven, he’s Dutch) watching CNN against my choice, when the network reported some seemingly positive news: apparently the U.S. just saw the biggest gain in employment in a decade!

census-bureau-298x300

Break out the champagne! Do a little dance! Make a little love! Throw another houseboy on the rotating action pit!

Yep, thanks to President Obama, this month the economy added 431,000 jobs, the biggest monthly gain since March of 2000. But of those new jobs, 390,000 were government. Private sector jobs actually came crashing down from 218 thousand in April, to just 41,000.

Daily Gut: Ashton Kutcher Blames Republicans For Oil Spill

by Greg Gutfeld

You know what I do when I’m confused about an issue?

I turn to Ashton Kutcher. And whatever he says – the opposite is true.
(see :53 – 1:10)

capam2LARGEUSEClick image to play

Leave it to Ashton to use catastrophe as a club to beat Republicans with – although the last time I checked Obama favors drilling – and most of America agrees. Except of course those shallow, stupid celebs who think their private jets fly on pixie farts.

But hey, if it hadn’t been for greenies, this whole mess might have occured in shallow water, and it’d be fixed. But maybe there are rare snails there that require space for Pilates.

At any rate, buyer’s remorse is now flooding the airwaves faster than oil from that busted rig: On CNN, director Spike Lee cries, “If there’s any one time to go off, this is it, because this is a disaster.” (more…)

Today’s Polanski Supporter: Martin Scorsese

by Big Hollywood

L_Martin_Scorsese_Presents_the_Blues-seriesimage

CNN:

Martin Scorsese has “‘demanded the immediate release’ of fellow filmmaker Roman Polanski, who was arrested in Switzerland on a U.S. arrest warrant related to a 1977 child sex charge.”

The Smoking Gun [EXPLICIT content warning]:

The teenager’s troubling [Ed. Note: she was 13] –and contemporaneous–account of her abuse at Polanski’s hands begins with her posing twice for topless photos that the director said were for French Vogue. The girl then told prosecutors how Polanski directed her to, “Take off your underwear” and enter the Jacuzzi, where he photographed her naked. Soon, the director, who was then 43, joined her in the hot tub. He also wasn’t wearing any clothes and, according to Gailey’s testimony, wrapped his hands around the child’s waist.

Daily Gut: God is Ted Turner

by Greg Gutfeld

So, as usual, I was at the gym working my quads when, on the TV in front of me, Ted Turner popped up on his own network, to be interviewed by one of his own employees. The questions posed were relentless, as the interviewer took no prisoners.

Na. I kid. It was fluffier than cotton candy made of unicorn farts. But no matter – Turner still managed to come off as a first class chucklebum.

In the interview he told Poppy Harlow (best damn name in news, by the way), that God may not only be behind the mammoth oil spill, but also the deadly coal mine disasters. Check it out, check it outers:

Daily Gut: Nice People Are Dangerous

by Greg Gutfeld

The great thing about a-holes, is you can see them coming. Whether it’s Sean Penn or Jeanine Garafalo calling you a racist or wishing you dead – their essential douchebaggery makes them easy to spot and harmless. Their inanities should only generate guffaws, not concern.

capitalism_love_story

I wish I could say that about nice people.

See, nice people are worse.

Case in point: Matthew Modine.

He’s a nice guy. Pleasant, in a puppy dog sort of way. I loved him in Vision Quest.

But he’s also clueless. Dangerously so. And when you combine congeniality with congenital cluelessness, you have a recipe for carnage. (more…)

Soderbergh’s ‘Che’ and Historical Accuracy, Part II

by Humberto Fontova

Part I of this series can be found here.

Steven Soderbergh made certain his new movie, “Che,” about the life of revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara, couldn’t be attacked — at least on a factual level. (CNN Entertainment, January 1, 2009)

“I didn’t mind someone saying, ‘Well, your take on him, I don’t really like,’ or ‘You’ve left these things out and included these things.’ That’s fine,” Soderbergh said. “What I didn’t want was for somebody to be able to look at a scene and say, ‘That never happened.’ “(CNN Entertainment, January 1, 2009)

Well, Mr Soderbergh (and CNN), pull up a chair.

chebritishposter

Soderbergh’s movie shows Che Guevara steely-eyed and snarling with defiance during his capture. Why, only seconds before, Che’s very M-2 carbine had been blasted from his hands and rendered useless by a fascist machine gun burst!

Then the bravely grimacing Guevara jerks out his pistol and blasts his very last bullets at the approaching hordes of CIA-lackey soldiers!

The (typical) viewer gapes at the spectacle. His eyes mist and lips tremble at Soderbergh and del Toro’s impeccable depiction of such undaunted pluck and valor.

Lonewolf Diaries: Sean Penn Sort of Cares About Haiti, Just Not That Much

by Steven Crowder

Is Sean Penn doing some good work for Haiti? Yes. At some point, did he opt to advance his own Hollywood image in place of casting the widest relief net possible? Yes. Will he violently threaten those who question his motives in the name of “peace?” That’s a definite possibility. I liked him better when he was rattling his skull with a checkered slip-on.

LoneWolf

For those of you who don’t know, Sean Penn has been “making the rounds” to keep the public awarene about Haiti. By “making the rounds” I mean scoring Hollywood elbow-bumping points by appearing on Tinseltown’s golden fanboy show… Larry King Live.

“One of the most important aspects of that will be that I’ve never asked to be on television before in my life, with the exception of unintelligible. I asked to be on your show today and you said yes. That’s what’s important, to keep the eye on Haiti. …The eyes of CNN and FoxNews and everybody else, the New York Times stays on this disaster…”

Tonight: 12:30am ET: ‘Red Eye New Years Eve Special!’ — Here’s Mud in Your Big ‘Red Eye’

by Mike LaChance

Since 2008, two friends have urged me to watch Red Eye on the FOX News channel. I finally got around to it one late night in March of 2009. I’ve been hooked ever since.

vlcsnap612965

Red Eye is hosted by Greg Gutfeld. Greg is so smart he makes Stephen Hawking look like Janet Napolitano at a national security press briefing.

Gutfeld’s sidekick is Bill Schulz. Bill is so funny he could make a femur seem humerus.

And finally, there’s TV’s Andy Levy, a guy so sharp that he blunts the knife in Charlie Sheen’s hand.

Welcome to the world of Red Eye, television’s last best hope for topical late night comedy. (more…)
