Obviously feeling the sting from those of us who have pointed out that there’s a very simple way to fulfill your own burning desire to pay more in taxes, gazillionaire Russell Simmons tried to explain his way out of that with this nonsense:

The conservatives always say to me, would I, why don’t I just write a check for more taxes. … Well, no, I won’t give my money to war machine and to other things, but if it will help the education and the health care for people who are locked out, of course I want to pay more taxes.

Oh, so that’s the hold up. He only wants to pay more taxes if those taxes are directed towards what he believes in. Unfortunately, that is not how taxes work and you can bet Simmons know this. But he lacks the moral courage to speak the truth and say he doesn’t want to pay more taxes. Furthermore, a gift to the Treasury doesn’t fund anything. It helps to pay down the national debt. So Simmons doesn’t even have his facts straight.

Hit PLAY and hold your nose. The hypocrisy is strong with this one:

—–

What a weaselly, pathetic excuse.

And naturally this raging hypocrite wouldn’t dream of giving the rest of us the choice of where our taxes go to, because I can assure you that all of mine would be directed towards the “war machine” and not a penny would go towards a drug of dependency known as welfare.

So remember the Coffee Party – the liberal, media-generated answer to the Tea Party?

CNN covered it, so did the New York Times.

And around the same time, Jon Stewart organized his rally to Restore Sanity, as a reaction to, again, the Tea Party.

Neither the party or that rally meant squat.

In fact they were lagging indicators of a dead world – a group of shiny, happy people who didn’t see the train heading their way.

The tea party and the health care protests were the train – future predictors that saw the road ahead – and all signs pointed to Greece.

To me, the Tea Party really is the punk rock moment of politics – harkening back to simple math – rescuing us from 20 minute organ noodling found on Emerson Lake and Palmer records.

Yep, in a bloated world typified by Yes’s Roundabout on F-M circa 1977, the Tea Party offered “Beat on the Brat,” a jolt of Ramones wisdom that reminded us of what worked before.

It also exposed a key problem with “hope and change” of 2008. When an organic American movement rose up to question the direction of the Administration, those ephemeral “good feelings” of 2008 withered against simple principle.

If you aren’t for shrinking government, then what are you for?

Turns out “not shrinking government!” is a lousy bumper sticker.

Now… I got issues with this deal.

Some people worry over Defense cuts. I’m one of them. That stuff matters. But that debate reminds you of one key truth: The left prefers to increase dependence through expansion of entitlements. The rest of us see independence through strength.

A howitzer over handouts.

Lastly, one sad fact: the government will still grow 70 percent over the next decade. And there may be new taxes as soon as 2013.

So this budget debate’s a lot like using Febreze.

Masking the stench doesn’t erase the pile of crap at your feet.

And if you disagree with me you’re a racist homophobe.

Piers Morgan is a CNN primetime host, a valued position at a cable news network that likes to present itself as down-the-middle, objective, centrist, and fair … everything it says their competition is not. But if you watch the clip below, you have to ask yourself why a supposedly objective news outlet would host a comedian famous for being vulgar and openly hostile towards conservative women.

And it gets worse…

—–

For those of you who live the clean life, a “MILF” is a “Mother I’d Like to F—.” Now, you can’t blame Bill Maher for being Bill Maher. In fact, it’s this kind of rabid soundbite that makes him a regular guest on these kinds of shows. But why is he a guest?

Well, if you notice, when Maher refers to Governor Palin and Congresswoman Bachmann as MILFs, Morgan audibly chuckles.

That explains a lot.

Using Bill Maher and Jon Stewart and David Letterman and Tina Fey and other left-wing showbiz types is all part of the MSM’s overall gameplan to personally destroy conservatives. Phase one is elevating left-wing celebrities as serious commentariats by having them on as guests or presenting clips of their work or employing them as permanent hosts of “The View.” Phase two is for the MSM to use their commentary/comedy as a way to practice the politics of personal destruction. Case in point: Maher’s demeaning and diminishing of Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann — two serious, accomplished, and savvy leaders — into sexual objects. This is nothing more than a different play from the same playbook that found the MSM using Tina Fey’s Palin impersonation over and over and over again until it stuck in the minds of some voters. “Saturday Night Live” has less than 10 million viewers a week. But thanks to the mainstream media’s obsession with destroying Palin, EVERYONE saw Fey’s impersonation.

This is no accident.

What popular culture allows the MSM to do is to push destructive narratives against conservatives (especially women) and then wash their hands of the crime with a shrug and, “Lighten up, it’s just a comedian.”

Obviously, today’s narrative push is to personally destroy Bachmann (and there’s been a three-year push to destroy Palin) — two genuine threats to a failed president’s re-election chances and an existential threat to a Democrat Party that can’t operate with 1% fewer female voters. And so yesterday in the afternoon you had Whoopi Goldberg turning Bachmann’s concern for the destruction of the modern American black family into some kind of racial incident and in the evening you had Maher sexually degrading her.

Narrative. Narrative. Narrative.

As we’re seeing with the Palin documentary “The Undefeated,” as soon as the MSM starts to talk about ideas, positions and records, a politically attractive candidate emerges. Same goes for Rep. Bachmann … and that can never, ever be allowed to happen. Solution: the MSM employs mercenaries from the world of popular culture, elevates them with their brand, and then stands back and lets them say everything they would like to but can’t — if they want to retain their weapon labelled “objectivity.”

I can hear the Left’s response already. “Well, Fox News puts Greg Gutfeld and Dennis Miller on their primetime shows.” Yes, that’s true. But I’ve never heard either of them stoop to the kind of cruel and dehumanizing ad hominem we constantly see from the Left.

Regardless, how long do you think Gutfeld and Miller would be around if either one referred to the First Lady as a MILF.

To be clear, Fey, Garofalo, Maher and the rest have every right to say what they want. I have no issue with a comedian being a comedian. That’s what they do. That’s who they are. I may disagree and even personally dislike some of them, but the standards we hold entertainers to is something entirely different from the standards held by the news media.

What I’m seeing, however, is the MSM using the celebrity loophole in order to ignore those standards. In their minds, it helped to put Obama in the White House in ‘08 and might just help to keep the failure in place for a second term.

So there I was, at the gym (in my outfit with the polka dots) watching CNN (not by choice) when the anchor wondered … and I paraphrase: “why is the public so obsessed with the Arnold Schwarzenegger story?”

Dumb question.

The public wasn’t asking for this story, nor was it reported by the public.

The story was reported by reporters – some employed by CNN – and continues to be reported, by reporters! some from CNN!

See, the public really doesn’t possess the capacity to uncover muck -and on the odd occasion that it does- they’re often mocked by CNN.

See the ACORN story.

Now, as someone who does a nightly show, I’ve never received a letter asking to cover more celebrity news. If anything, the public writes in about stuff they feel is ignored by everyone else.

See the ACORN story.

Or my workout routine. Which should win a Peabody.

But here’s what really gets me: that a network like CNN needs to finger the public for an obsession, when it’s the media that’s obsessed with Arnold.

It satisfies their kinky interest, not yours.

Which reveals the media’s hypocritical criticism concerning America’s repressed attitudes.

They believe it’s silly for us to frown upon a married celeb impregnating a housemaid.

But if the media felt any differently, they wouldn’t be reporting the same story over and over again!

Could it be our media is actually more repressed than the public it mocks?

Maybe.

Which is why I’m boycotting salacious gossip and I suggest you do the same.

Especially if you hear anything about me and a pool boy named roderigo. He’s a filthy liar and I was only giving him CPR.

And if you disagree with me, you’re a racist homophobe.

Tonight, another great show:

Nick Gillespie!

Tom Shillue!

Leeann Tweeden!

Watch the video below and you’ll see that Michael Moore is really, really, REALLY upset over this. With all the problems in the world, all the natural disasters right here in America, all the famine and disease and tragedy — THIS is what Michael Moore’s all emotionally ripped up over today. Somewhere a child is going hungry, somewhere an American serviceman or woman could use a helping hand, somewhere someone is losing their home — and THIS is what Michael Moore is using his power of celebrity to call attention to.

What an extraordinarily revealing set of priorities:

—–

The video below, the second part of the interview, shows how badly the Obama Administration has bungled the post-mission narrative. If you’ve lost Michael Moore… As Jim Treacher so memorably put it: The Obama Adminstration took their victory lap in a clown car. The segment is also a case study in how the Left has learned how to wrap anti-American language into patriotic rhetoric:

If you remember, in my exclusive story yesterday regarding the future of the “Atlas Shrugged” trilogy, we learned the following:

The most interesting development, however, is that in their effort to expand television advertising, MSNBC, CNN and CNBC “have all rejected a 15-second ad for ‘editorial’ reasons [with] no further explanation provided.”

“This unforeseen censorship effectively puts the brakes on our follow-up marketing efforts where we were trying to reach millions of people unaware of the movie being in theaters now,” Kaslow wrote. “We are continuing with the theatrical release because we have great word of mouth and awareness for the movie increases daily.”

Just a few minutes ago, the producers were good enough to send along a YouTube of the rejected ad with this note: “Here’s the ad. It’s very simple and certainly in no way offensive[.]”

See for yourself:

—–

Not saying there isn’t one, but I would be curious to know what the cable nets “editorial” problem is here.

On Monday, February 28, CNN stopped carrying water for Democrat politicians just long enough to carry a little bit for Islamic extremists instead. This happened when host Don Lemon modeled the Hollywood mentality that explains away America’s distrust of radical Islamists by accusing salt-of-the-earth Americans of being ignorant or un-edgumacated (like Sarah Palin or Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush or Dick Cheney).

This mentality allowed Lemon to provide film director Qasim Basir a platform from which to promote “Mooz-lum” – a movie intended to “clear up some of [the] ignorance” Americans seemingly have about Islam.

(Don’t you love it when CNN, or any other liberal outlet, begins a story on the relationship between Americans and Muslims by focusing on how ignorant the Americans are?)

In addition mocking Americans’ supposed lack of knowledge pertaining to Islam, the Lemon/Basir segment highlighted the need for tolerance in religion. Not surprisingly, they focused on a lack of tolerance in the U.S. without ever mentioning the modesty police in Muslim countries like Iran: modesty police publicly flog women for wearing skirts that are too short or clothes that are too revealing. Nor did they mention the fact that it’s still illegal to build a Christian church in Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia (where it’s also against the law for women to drive cars). And the list goes on…

(Don’t you love it when CNN, or any other liberal outlet, allows a guest to criticize America’s supposed intolerance, all the while that guest is not even asked about the examples of intolerance coming from the other side?)

How refreshing it would have been had Lemon looked Basir right in the eye and said: “Since you seem fixated on tolerance, can you explain why Saudi Arabia refuses to tolerate U.S. military personnel carrying their Bibles into that country?” or “Why is it that homosexuals in Iran are not tolerated?” and so on and so forth. But instead of doing any real reporting, Lemon just smiled and allowed Basir to leave all these matters for another day, choosing instead to mock the backwoods, hick-town, hayseed mentality of Americans who actually see a link between radical Islam and terrorism.

CNN is bad enough by itself. But when you couple CNN with that haughty attitude so prevalent in liberal Hollywood circles today, it’s simply unbearable.

For the record: I’d much rather be considered ignorant, un-edgumacated, and love this country, than be viewed as cultured and worldly-wise yet be willing to turn a blind eye toward those who wish nothing less than our absolute destruction.
