CNS reporter Nicholas Ballasy asks a simple question and what follows are three-plus minutes of what would make for a howlingly funny SNL skit if only SNL had the courage to pop their heads out of the bubble and seek to “get it” once again.

It’s probably time to move beyond howling “hypocrite” when we’re presented with revealing moments like this. Celebrity and elitist hypocrite are now tied together as automatically as Patrick Goldstein and Polanski-supporting blacklister or Robert Rodriguez and race-hustling demagogue.

The entertainment value, however, never grows tiresome.

How do you get a Hollywoodist to make a fool of himself? Ask an honest question and then let him keep right on talking until he completely bares his ass.

CNSNews brings us yet another chapter in the fall of the once mighty Harrison Ford.

Listen to the psychobabble…

Listen to the rank-hypocrisy…

Listen to the rationalizing coming from a man with seven aircraft (and a serious case of entitlement) who tells the rest of the world — including that part of the world desperate to develop – how to remain forever poor decrease their carbon footprint.

And finally, listen to Ford lash out at his fellow-travellers in the enviro-movement who dared call him out for using aircraft to…pick up a cheeseburger.

I certainly hope that He Who Waxes His Chest isn’t telling his right-wing critics that he’ll start walking when we do. We’re not the hypocrites here.

We figured out a long time ago that Global Warming is nothing more than a ruse to usher in socialism and give James Cameron a sense of self worth.

So the Climate Change Summit is collapsing faster than an Ikea dresser, as everyone realizes you can’t pull off the world’s biggest bank heist in broad daylight.

Thank God Prince Charles has arrived, however, to tell us how the rest of us are harming the planet. Note: he arrived in a private jet that uses up to seven months’ worth of the typical British person’s “carbon footprint.” I know, I know – we can’t expect him to take the train. But the very least, we can expect him to stay home and shut the hell up. After all, he has two ears to feed.

Meanwhile, Danish police fired pepper spray at protesters – those self-righteous goons who clamor for immediate action – knowing that, as activists, they won’t have to pay for it. The rest of us, of course, will. That’s the rule of environmentalism - do as I shout, not as I do. Whether you’re Prince Charles or an unwashed activist – consequences mean little as long as your intentions are in the right place.

But that should be no surprise to anyone who has been following this movement. I’ve spent a decade watching the cult of climate change grow, and realized the belief springs from a bitter view of humanity. Communism was a movement meant to suppress individual ingenuity and industry. When it fell, those followers – and those drawn to that ideological allure – had to go somewhere. The Communist Manifesto became An Inconvenient Truth.

So now the president of the conference has resigned, and the US delegation is objecting to text that might hold them to rules our country should reject. As the conference crumbles, and the protesters demand “climate justice”- we can finally say: “There it is, chuckleheads.”

And if you disagree with me, you’re probably a racist!

Tonight another stellar lineup, and another stellar show!
Publishing legend Felix Dennis!
CIA guy Mike Baker!
Gorgeous actress Reshma Shetty!
comedian Jesse Joyce!
Bill Schulz (sadly)

So yesterday, the British magazine The New Scientist published an article titled, “How Reputation Could Save the Earth.” In it, the writers argue that information about your carbon footprint should be made public – because knowledge of your misdeeds might change your ways. They ask, “Would you want your neighbors, friends, or colleagues to think of you as a free rider, harming the environment while benefiting from the restraint of others?”

This is an excellent question, for it exposes the real motivation behind most, if not all, climate change apostles: to allow these gasbags the superior pleasure of shaming you. It’s all about denigrating your reputation in order to elevate theirs – a self-satisfied reward for their sheep-like devotion to climate change hysteria. They’re such needy little twerps – the kind who take part in charity fun runs just so they can wear the t-shirt the next day at work.

Now, mind you, I’m all for shame. I think it’s a forgotten art -something that might be useful in curtailing some of the more disgraceful elements of American culture. I speak mainly of any show on VH1 that involves an elimination round, and of course, John Mayer.

But this enviro-shaming isn’t even close to that. It’s not like they’re actually condemning you for authentic, immoral behavior. Nope – rather than shaming an Islamic radical for killing innocent people, they’d rather go after those of us who didn’t bring a reusable hemp shopping bag when visiting the local Whole Foods.

And that’s a real shame. These simps are manufacturing phony righteousness when, these days, real righteousness is so desperately needed. And for that, I’d happily recycle my foot in their ass.

And if you disagree with me, then you’re probably a racist.

Tonight we have the hilarious Jim Norton, the delicious Reshma Shetty, the cogent Ron Geraci, and Dinesh D’Souza (talking about his new book, Life After Death)

We do admit to being conflicted, sometimes, when writing about the politics of Global Warming hysteria.

It is hilarious that Al Gore’s electricity bill is ten times the national average. However, our idea of a perfect world is when everyone in Africa and the developing world is so wealthy they are using the same amount of electricity as the former vice-president.

If the world were that wealthy it would mean the end of the scourge of needless child mortality. It would mean that people in Africa would live long and healthy lives and get to know the joy of their grandchildren. It would mean that children would know how wonderful it is to see their parents live to an old age.

So our initial reaction to Al Gore’s electricity bill is that we wish it for everyone. But then we are faced with the reality that Al Gore wants legislation to force people to use less electricity and fly less. Then his electricity bill becomes an issue of hypocrisy and freedom. He wants the freedom to use and consume but wants to deny that to ordinary Americans and, perhaps more tragically, to the people of the developing world. So Al Gore’s electricity bill and use of a private jet should be highlighted as part of a belief by the environmental movement that change and deprivation “for the good of the planet” should only be borne by other people. Private jets are essential for eco-celebrities because their work is important. The rest of us have to reduce our carbon footprint because our travel is “frivolous and wasteful.”

Just last week, President Obama and the first lady flew to New York to see a Broadway show. They also flew an entourage of assistants and media in separate planes. In a statement, President Obama said: “I am taking my wife to New York City because I promised her during the campaign that I would take her to a Broadway show after it was all finished.” Well that’s great and we hope they enjoyed the show. But isn’t this the same president who said during the campaign that: “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times…and then just expect that other countries are going to say ‘OK.’”?

I know he promised his wife that he would take her to a show but if we all have to make sacrifices for the good of the planet, perhaps he should have started with their little jaunt to New York for a date.

But it seems for President Obama that sacrifice is something only other people (poorer people) make.

Ann McElhinney & Phelim McAleer are the producers and directors of the documentary Not Evil Just Wrong – the True Cost of Global Warming Hysteria.
