CBS’ ‘The Good Wife’: ‘Breitbart Owned the Weiner Scandal’

by Hollywoodland

—-

In case you missed last night’s episode, here’s what looks to be a very well-written scene from this Emmy award-winning show. And, even better, a very simple statement of fact: “Breitbart owned the Weiner scandal.” No snide asides, no shots at Breitbart or, uhm, the Tea Party.

Hollywood did good. You have to wonder if they even comprehend how much 50% of their audience appreciates this mature approach to our side of the aisle.

‘The Undefeated’ Opens Friday: Impact Felt Already

by John Nolte

Get your tickets here and request that your local theatre screen the film at the official website.

The impact of Steve Bannon’s feature-length documentary that tells the story of Governor Sarah Palin the MSM intentionally and ruthlessly covered up has already been felt. For the first time in three years the MSM is talking about Palin’s record — her record as a successful and dynamic Chief Executive of Alaska who worked closely with both Republicans and Democrats, took on her own party, and beat Big Oil at their own game.

The Undefeated Teaser Trailer from Dain Valverde on Vimeo.

As Andrew Breitbart put it in a tweet:

How #TheUndefeated Is Working: Tina Brown’s Newsweek cover story portrays Palin as Palin: http://t.co/xQRNgrH
Should the Governor choose to run for president in 2012, the urgency of “The Undefeated” will be profound. Regardless, anyone interested in a closing argument that proves just how biased and corrupt the mainstream media is, needs to give the film a look, as well.

Mr. Mission Impossible: Bill Maher

by Michael Moriarty

Bill Maher’s mainly Liberal audience and their joy in The Weiner Transmissions, read verbatim by Bill Maher and Jane Lynch, made its point: “Who are you, conservative Americans, to look down on a couple of people just trying to have fun in their lives?!”

It’s a boldly persuasive way to tear down some chronic hypocrisies and get the stick-in-the-muds trained to loosen up their television fare:

“Gee … if you can talk dirty on major television

 and the audience enjoys it,

why can’t we hear stuff like this more often!”

The performances of Maher and Lynch would hardly “cop a gold” at the Academy Awards.  They read the pornographic copy like two anchors on a small town News Program reading the yearly plug for a Masonic Charity Ball.

Of course, that was the comic “hook” and, for the most part, it worked.

“How ya gonna keep ‘em down on the farm,

 after they’ve seen Bill Maher?!”

That is only part of the comedian’s seemingly Libertarian appeal: no one refuses to take “no” for an answer with more steam-rolling charm than Bill Maher.

BigDawg Spotlight On: Conservative Hip Hop/Rap Artist Hi Caliber – No ‘Common’ Rapper Here

by Lisa Mei Norton

Correction:  The quote referring to Common’s music as “very positive” was mistakenly attributed to Media Matters in the originally published version of this piece.  We regret the error.

***

Have you heard about “Poetry Night” at the White House?  I find it appalling and very inappropriate (yet not at all that surprising) that the Obamas have invited “Common”, a rapper who grew up in the pews of America-hating “Reverend” Wright’s church, who he describes as an “intelligent, strong individual…a great man…a conduit of love.”   He denigrates women with his misogynistic lyrics, promotes killing cops, and burning (President) Bush. Isn’t that special?  His lyrics have been praised by a Fox News reporter as being “very positive.”  Are you kidding me?

Hi Caliber

This is just another tactic this administration is using to convince young Americans that Barrack Obama is just that “cool” and that these are the kinds of artists your kids should be listening to.

Please.

In the New York Times Bestseller Obama Zombies:  How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation, author Jason Mattera describes how liberals successfully launched their highly successful technology-based campaign to take advantage of and brain-wash his generation into becoming “zombies” for Team Obama.  They used every facet of new media to reach our youth through their computers, iPods, and cell phones via new media venues and services like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and text messaging and “rocked the vote” in favor of “That One.”

Thankfully, we conservative keyboard warriors are fighting back with those very same tactics to reach our young voters using every weapon in our arsenal (e.g., conservative websites, blogs, video rants, music, books, artwork, and the list goes on).   In less than two years (since the 2008 elections), through the effective use of  new media, the TEA Party movement managed to rise up and put a major hurtin’ on the Democrats in the House and Senate in the mid-term elections.  It was interesting to note that younger voters seemed less than enthusiastic about voting in 2010.  Perhaps voter’s remorse is setting in?

Good.

Andrew Breitbart Makes Big Screen Debut in ‘Atlas Shrugged’ (With Bonus Top Ten!)

by John Nolte

We’re hearing that “Atlas Shrugged” is selling out theatres, even in New York! There’s no way to confirm, but that’s the word on Twitter.

For those of you who have seen it, did you catch our own Andrew Breitbart in a cameo? Christian Adams did:

I caught a showing of Atlas Shrugged and found both Pajamas Media CEO Roger Simon as well as Andrew Breitbart on the big screen. …

[W]ho would have thought Andrew Breitbart would be the next Internet media mogul to appear on the big screen?  I caught a glimpse of what I thought was Andrew in an Atlas Shrugged scene involving an anniversary party.   Andrew confirmed to me he indeed has an uncredited cameo in Atlas Shrugged.  Don’t blink, his big moment is only a few seconds.

If you’ve seen “Atlas,” let us know what you thought in the comments. If you haven’t, look for the closest theatre here and request your local theatre screen it here.

By the way, another rumor floating around is that if you buy Andrew’s new book “Righteous Indignation” and see “Atlas” this weekend, and angel will get its wing and a liberal’s head will explode. What you call a two-fer.

‘Righteous Indignation’ Review: Breitbart’s Written a Guide to Saving the World

by Joseph Lindsey

Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World! (out today)  is not the book I thought it would be. I was expecting a storied narrative simply about a man who stumbles into a career as a political muckraker. What I got was a lesson on the historical framework of how the evils of communism came to the shores of Southern California and now disguises itself as democracy, entertainment, network news and community organizing.

Now I get the part about saving the world.

I first met Andrew Breitbart when he opened the door to his hotel room in Denver; unshaven, barefoot, belt undone and his button up shirt flowing like a bathrobe. Talking on a blackberry, answering emails on his Mac, and looking over a list of topics for the speech he was to give that night at the Independence Institute, he looked up at me and said, “I love that you have a National League stadium here.” If not for my sober state, I could have sworn I’d I walked onto the set of a Coen Brothers film, because it seemed I was in the midst of “The Dude.”

Mr. Breitbart’s fun-size opus so clearly focuses on the lack of civility in the Democratic party and its unholy alliance with the media that parts of the book leaves one feeling dirty after the filthy tarp of bias is removed to expose how the Clintons gave birth to “the politics of personal destruction,” then handed the baby off to the media to raise after the President abused his power and the Oval Office.

The issue to those on the Right wasn’t so much that The President of The United States manipulated a young woman into masturbating with a cigar in the Oval Office. The issue was that The President of The United States lied to a grand jury about it–and if you will lie about having a walking humidor in the Oval Office, you will lie about everything.

Only the LSM* Could Spin Into a Negative Andrew Breitbart’s Desire to See Sarah Palin Command Pop Culture

by John Nolte

Though notorious for my lousy memory, anyone who’s ever shared this experience will understand why I’ll never forget my first phone call with Andrew Breitbart. It’s hard to believe almost three years have passed so quickly, but I do remember the conversation like it was yesterday. At the time I was trying to squeak out a living at a website of my own that was pretty much devoted to my vision-less complaining about the terrible effect left-wing politics was having on my beloved motion picture industry. On a good day, I maybe got 5,000 hits but things were so financially dire that something had to give — and by “something had to give,” I mean, “I was a month away from going back to bill collecting.”

Then the email came: Please call me. *phone number* –Andrew Breitbart.

I knew of Andrew and had only met him very briefly once before but that day we talked for over two hours and if I were smarter, anything close to charismatic, and capable of being a visionary, it would’ve been like talking to myself. By that time I had already been trying to sound the alarm about what was happening in Hollywood for nearly three years. Certainly there were people who appreciated it, but 5,000 hits a day does not a movement make. But here was this guy on the other end of the phone speaking about it with more passion and insight than I had ever heard before: This is about America. This is about a blacklist. This is about a diversity of opinion at the pop culture table. This is about my kids. This is about truth, justice, and the American way. Out of anyone else’s mouth this would’ve sounded corny as hell, but from Andrew it sounded like The Ramones had entered the building.

So there was that, and then there was the vision. A media empire of BIG sites. Over ten of them: Big Government, Big Journalism, Big Peace, Big Education, Big Israel, and my personal favorite, Big Soros. But it would have to start with Big Hollywood, he said, because nothing was more important than the culture. If you couldn’t win a seat at the table of pop culture, the others won’t matter. Everything is downstream from Hollywood — and not just politics. Hollywood shapes our children, our country, and most importantly, it shapes how the world sees our country. Unless we gain a foothold on that beach, the rest of the invasion will fail.

National Lampoon’s Twitter Feed Presents: Andrew Breitbart ‘Has AIDS’

by John Nolte

Desperately seeking attention to a Twitter feed that required 2862 follows in order to amass a mere 4663 followers, someone at the ridiculously irrelevant National Lampoon*, someone who finds AIDS fair game for “humor,” decided to gain a little attention by ripping into Andrew Breitbart today. Among those tweets came this witty zinger:

In other news, National Lampoon is still in business and somehow less relevant than “Saturday Night Live.”

But if I have their attention, if someone unworthy to even breathe the same air as The Mighty John Hughes and P.J. O’Rourke is reading this and has any kind of say in the film production side of their business, I’d like to offer a suggestion that might help with the credibility of their brand. Instead of naming your films, say, “National Lampoon’s Going the Distance”; title them this way: “Another Desperately Unfunny, Straight-to-Video Piece of Shit We’ve Called ‘Going the Distance.’”

You’ll sleep better.

As a matter of fact, you might want to call your Twitter feed: “Another Desperately Unfunny Production from National Lampoon.” Really, this is the best you’ve got…?

ABC News Caves Completely to Intolerant Left, Cancels Breitbart Election Night Appearance

by Hollywoodland

After flying Andrew Breitbart all the way out to Phoenix, Arizona yesterday to participate in an online Townhall election event, after taking him out of his home state, away from his business, and nearly making it impossible for him to vote in today’s crucial midterm election (though he’s on an airplane now in order to cast his ballot), at about as close to the last minute as you can get, Andrew Morse, chief of the ABC News digital division, sent the following email late this afternoon abruptly canceling Breitbart’s appearance:

We have spent the past several days trying to make clear to you your limited role as a participant in our digital town hall to be streamed on ABC News.com and Facebook. The post on your blog last Friday created a widespread impression that you would be analyzing the election on ABC News. We made it as clear as possible as quickly as possible that you had been invited along with numerous others to participate in our digital town hall. Instead of clarifying your role, you posted a blog on Sunday evening in which you continued to claim a bigger role in our coverage. As we are still unable to agree on your role, we feel it best for you not to participate.

This is yet another obvious attempt to build a narrative that puts the blame on Breitbart when the truth is that this is nothing more than ABC News caving in to and attempting to appease the organized left’s outrage machine that went into full astroturf mode after Breitbart’s ABC News appearance was made public.

ABCnews

As a reminder as to who’s exaggerating, here is exactly how Breitbart’s election night townhall event was described by an ABC News producer to him in an email:

This program will broadcast on the ABC Television Network, abcnews.com, ABC News Now, and ABC News Radio. …

The show will be live on the web and ABC News Now as well as on the network from 4:00pm till 11:00pm MST.

With this in mind and in writing, here is how Big Journalism announced Breitbart’s ABC News appearance: (more…)

Today’s ‘Big’ Election Coverage: Who, What, Where, When, Why…

by John Nolte

Unless major news breaks like Matt Damon coming to his senses or Paul Greengrass discovering the tripod, starting at on or around 1pm ET, Big Hollywood will go quiet as the “Big” team of editors begin their coverage of election night at Big Government, Big Journalism, and Breitbart TV.

Here are the details…

You can find me over at Big Journalism, where I’ll be live blogging the MSM’s coverage. Hopefully there will be much to pass on regarding uncontrollable weeping and the gnashing of teeth. Who knows, maybe Andrea Mitchell will flip her wig, Chris Matthews will feel a cold dark chill of disappointment run up his leg, and Politico will discover the cost of Unnamed Source Journolista-ism isn’t worth the price of their wretched souls.

BRITAIN G20 PALACEWhy We Fight.

Big Empire founder and publisher Andrew Breitbart will be participating in an ABC online town hall event from Arizona.

Big Journalism Editor-in-Chief Dana Loesch can be seen doing live analysis on ABC News, and I’ve offered her a cool fifty bucks cash if at some time during the evening she’ll say the following on the air:

”It’s not that I disagree with you Diane, it’s just you say that as though Bruce Lee isn’t awesome.”

Easy money.

Editor’s Mike Flynn and Peter Schweizer along with featured contributor Dan Riehl will be all over Big Government with up-to-the-second analysis. (more…)

Daily Gut: Racism Revisited, Revised, Regurgitated

by Greg Gutfeld

(this is Wednesday’s Gregalogue, updated for tonight, with more fun stuff!)

In my opinion, the story of Shirley Sherrod isn’t about racism, but accusations of racism. If someone says they aren’t racist, and minus physical evidence to the contrary, you should take them at their word.

02
Spencer “call them racists” Ackerman

Unfortunately, we’ve seen that this never happens. And so when you accuse an entire group of racism, like the Tea Party – what you get is rage and frustration.

It’s exactly what that d-bag, from that private leftwing group Journolist, said.

If you remember, Spencer Ackerman wrote:

Instead, take one of them – Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares – and call them racists…This makes *them* sputter with rage, which in turn leads to overreaction and self-destruction.

Yep, he’s a toolbag, but he’s on the money. He knew that if you falsely accuse someone of racism – they explode. And to him – and the media – it rarely matters if that rage is righteous. Because all they want is an angry mob. (more…)

Daily Gut: The Burden of Poop

by Greg Gutfeld

So in a recent AP column, Michael Blood says it’s up to Andrew Breitbart to prove that Tea Partiers didn’t yell the N-word in Washington last Sunday.

He writes:

“Conservative columnist Andrew Breitbart disputed accounts that tea party activists in Washington shouted racial epithets at black members of Congress amid the health care debate, although he didn’t provide any evidence.”

“Although he didn’t provide any evidence.”

Okay, this would be funny if it wasn’t so slimy.

I mean, first of all – The burden of proof is on the person making the accusation. And get this: Breitbart put up 100 grand, to be donated to the United Negro College Fund – if anyone provided evidence. So far, nothing – which is why the AP writer, is left grasping for brain cells. (more…)

‘RedEye’ Video: Breitbart Talks CPAC — ‘Confront the Bullies’

Breitbart: It’s time to hit back at these people — that these people keep calling you a racist… Instead of slinking into the corner and crying or saying ‘I don’t like that,’ you walk straight towards them and confront them; and they’re bullies, they’re just bullies and bullies crumble when you hit them back.

Financial Times: Breitbart Shapes Conservative Agenda

by Big Hollywood

From today’s Financial Times:

“When Andrew Breitbart first saw video footage of workers from Acorn, a community activist group, telling two undercover reporters how to set up a brothel and avoid paying taxes he knew he had a big scoop on his hands.

“The conservative commentator also knew the series of undercover videos, which caused an outcry when he released them last month on his BigGovernment website, would be dismissed by what he calls the “mainstream media”.

““The mainstream media are not story driven, they are ideology driven,” he says in an interview with the Financial Times. “They are universally left of centre and they protect their own . . . their raison d’être is to put pressure on anyone that would dare challenge their aggressive ideology.”

“The media outlets criticised by Mr Breitbart, which include CNN and the New York Times, reject accusations of bias. However, Mr Breitbart argues that liberal bias is inherent and admits to pursuing his own ideological aims through his websites. His policy has been rewarded with plenty of online traffic: September brought almost 11m unique users to his sites and 35m page views. (more…)

Two Fish, One Barrel: Deconstructing Andrew Sullivan’s ‘The Breitbart Standard,’ Demolishing Conor Friedersdorf’s ‘The Right’s Lesser Media’

To which I respond to my unofficial biographer Conor Friedersdorf’s Daily Beast criticism of your’s truly and bigger fish Andrew Sullivan’s two-thumbs-up to it:

sullivan conor

Andrew Sullivan (left) and Conor Friedersdorf

In the piece you link to and affirm in the Daily Beast, “The Right’s Lesser Press,” Conor Friedersdorf refuses to interview me as he continues to be my unofficial biographer. (I’m VERY reachable, Conor.) He writes opinion pieces on me purporting to be journalism. He doesn’t quote or cite me, he simply assumes and pushes the point of view he thinks I have and makes an argument based on these alleged positions. It’s sloppy and you, of all people, should know better.

Breitbart.com is MOSTLY a news aggregator. It carries the Associated Press, Reuters, even, Agence France Presse, from those dreaded croissant eaters!!!

It even carries the New York Times on its front page — a benefit that even Big Government and Big Hollywood don’t receive.

Big Hollywood is what it is: a counter-voice to the virtually monolithic Hollywood left. How dare I grant a platform, and a means for the defense of those in Hollywood who would dare go against the strident and intolerant Hollywood left.

Big Government, too, is providing an outlet for voices and ideas that are not proportionally represented in the traditional and mostly biased mainstream media.

Using Arts for Conservative Purposes

by Michael van der Galien

Big Hollywood and Big Government have done tremendous work in recent weeks. They have proved without a doubt that the Obama administration and its allies have gone too far. They’ve crossed the line. Federal agencies are turned into propaganda tools. This is something we haven’t seen in the U.S. since, well, ever. This administration knows no shame. Everything is permissible in order to push its legislative agenda through the collective throat of the American people. And the MSM are covering it all up, refusing to spend time and attention to the ACORN scandal first and now the NEA scandal.

It’s a good thing there are conservatives willing to expose this administration for what it is.

6a00d8341c4df253ef01157008b65e970b-800wi
President Obama and Kalpen Modi, Associate Director of the Office of Public Engagement

But the question is, what’s next? How can this be countered and how can the Obama administration be forced to back down? As it is, liberal groups, news organizations and individuals continue to cover up for the administration. Perhaps someone will be thrown under the bus again, but the thugs of Team Obama will remain in place and continue to “transform America.”

Exposing their tactics is necessary to fight them, but it’s not enough to actually beat them. Mr. Breitbart and team have learned that the tactics the left has used against conservatives for decades; to discredit them works wonders. But if conservatives want to take back the government, we have to copy the left’s organizing skills as well. (more…)

Breitbart Uses Netroots Tricks to Take Down ACORN

by Big Hollywood

From The Washington Independent:

On September 10, Andrew Breitbart launched his new site, BigGovernment, with hidden-video camera footage of two young conservative activists who’d gotten Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) employees to advise them on hiding prostitution profits from the IRS. Within hours, Breitbart was doing interviews with reporters who wanted to know how, exactly, the story had come about, and why Big Government was releasing the videos and the identity of the muckrackers — 25-year-old James O’Keefe III and 20-year-old Hannah Giles — so slowly.

“It was strategized,” Breitbart told TWI this week, so “that they would be deprived of the type of information that a defense attorney would try to gather in order to create a defense.”

Who were “these people?” They were not just the leaders or members of ACORN itself. “They” were the Democratic Party, the White House, the progressive Center for American Progress and its president John Podesta. The “Democrat-media complex” is Breitbart’s name for the whole apparatus. “We deprived them of information,” Breitbart explained, “so that they couldn’t come up with a vile, kill-the-messenger attack with the media doing the groundwork for them.”

The success of Breitbart’s strategy was immediate, stunning, and is still ricocheting around the political world. Five days after the story broke, the U.S. Senate voted 83-7 to prevent ACORN from receiving any federal funding. Two days later, the House of Representatives did the same. Meanwhile, Breitbart was talking to more reporters, amused at how the “kill-the-messenger attack” was playing out. When one report from The Washington Post called him for a story about O’Keefe and Giles, Breitbart compared their tape to the photos of Abu Ghraib prison released in April 2004. (more…)
