‘Little Obama’ Trailer: Was Barack Obama the Original Karate Kid?

by Big Hollywood

—–

Wall Street Journal:

“Little Obama,” the Indonesian film based on Barack Obama’s childhood years in the Southeast Asian nation, is nearing its June 30 premiere there and opening in wide release the following day. The film, titled “Obama Anak Menteng” in Indonesian, was directed by Damien Dematra, who also wrote the novel on which the movie is based. The fictionalized account of the U.S. president’s experiences in that country, where he lived with his mother 40 years ago, stars 14-year-old Hasan Faruq Ali, who, like the young man who would become president, is an American living in Indonesia.

Hollywood to Nashville & Gulf: Drop Dead!

by Pam Meister

So what gives? Are these areas just not glamorous enough? Do celebs not want to further highlight The One’s pathetic response?

Celebrities love causes. They love them for a couple of reasons: one, it makes them seem like “serious” people despite making a non-serious living as entertainers – or, as in the case of “professional reality show stars,” making a living by leeching off the system. Two, it’s free publicity. After all, you aren’t a celebrity if you aren’t being “celebrated” by an adoring public.

3119508

As such, celebrities often embrace “feel good causes” that enhance their PR value and their egos. Take “green living,” for instance. Why all the Hollywood hooh hah about carbon footprints and other such nonsense? Christopher Grey of WND has a theory:

Celebrities want attention, but they also want credibility because they typically don’t have any. Environmentalism is an easy cause for them to promote to get attention and at the same time appear somehow thoughtful and even educated because it is allegedly based on science. Of course none of this has anything do with reality, but this is the entertainment business. Reality is not important at all. Image is everything. Talking about recycling, stopping offshore drilling, solar power, and electric cars is a lot easier than really trying to do something for people in the world like feeding the hungry, helping abused children, or building houses for the homeless.

It also deflects attention from the obvious fact that celebrities are often some of the most wasteful, energy inefficient, materialistic, shallow, and superficial people in our society. A classic recent example was James Cameron, who talked about how his film, Avatar, was a shining example of environmentalism. Obama echoed this praise. This was the most expensive movie ever made about a war on an alien planet. What exactly about this movie helped to conserve resources or save our planet? The answer is absolutely nothing.

Classless Paul McCartney Trashes Bush In Front of Obama at White House

by Pam Meister

The Brits, as we all know, have a thing about “class.” For example, your accent not only denotes what part of the country from which you hail, but whether you are “working class,” “middle class,” or “nobility” and all things in between. And if you have the “wrong” accent, good luck getting accepted into certain circles.

For someone who comes from a nation that’s still so hung up on class, Paul McCartney recently demonstrated that he has none.

—–

McCartney – excuse me, Sir Paul McCartney, obviously a classy guy – was in the East Room at the White House, receiving the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. Despite the non-political nature of the event, which featured McCartney himself and other musicians performing his songs in front of a select audience (including the President and First Lady), somehow Paul couldn’t hold back a snarky remark about Obama’s predecessor:

“After the last eight years, it’s great to have a president who knows what a library is.”

Hollywood’s Latest Attack On Everyday Americans: Bill Maher Slanders Tea Party…Again

by John Nolte

—–

We’re dumb, we’re racist… blah, blah, blah. Yawn, yawn yawn. Let’s get to the meat of it with Bill Maher parroting the latest White House talking points.

The Left, including President Obama and Maher, are laughably transparent with this new narrative-attack on the Tea Party movement. They’ve obviously all gotten together (literally, spiritually?) and decided that this week’s tactic to try and discredit everyday Americans will be to talk about Obama’s “middle class tax cut,” as if to say:

Hello? You idiots are protesting for no reason. Your taxes went down.

The economic types can go ahead and debate whether that’s in fact the case. Regardless, what the left will never understand is that we don’t care if our personal taxes went down. And this flaw in their thinking is what it frequently is when they furrow their brows disapprovingly and peer down upon us…

They think we think like they do.

They think we’re all selfish narcissists just like they are.

Post Racial? Bah Humbug!

by Joseph C. Phillips

“Distinctions by race are so evil, so arbitrary and invidious that a state, bound to defend the equal protection of the laws must not invoke them in any public sphere.” –Thurgood Marshall

black-and-white

Perhaps it was unfair to expect that the election of Barack Obama would “bend the curve” on hundreds of years of racial attitudes and the politics that developed around those attitudes. Then again, for a man that entered office with a promise to calm the seas and heal the sick doing “post racial” should have been a piece of cake. Moreover, with all the talk of “hope and change” it was not outrageous to imagine that there might be some positive change in the tone surrounding discussions of race. Certainly it was not unreasonable to imagine that at the very least this President- who was going to win back the worlds respect — would not stoke the fires of racial enmity here at home. Well, as my mother used to say: “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.” Instead of bringing Americans together, this President is proving to be the most divisive and racially polarizing president in recent memory. And France still isn’t all that crazy about us. (more…)

Barack Obama’s Helter-Skelter, Insane Clown Posse, Alinsky Plans to ‘Deconstruct’ America

by Andrew Breitbart

UPDATE: The bounty is now $100,000 for any audio/video footage of the N-word being hurled at Congressmen John Lewis and Andre Carson.

***

After 14 months of committing 100% to health care reform, the day after the signing of the Health Care bill was to mark the Democratic Party’s new primary concern: destroy the uprising, annihilate by all means necessary, the Tea Party movement.

The first sign that a plan was in place was the ham-fisted, high-camp posturing of the most controversial members of the Democratic caucus walking through the peaceful but animated “Tea Party” demonstrators on Capitol Hill. There is no reason for these elected officials to walk above ground through the media circus amid their ideological foes. The natural route is the tunnels between the House office buildings and the Capitol. By crafting a highly symbolic walk of the Congressional Black Caucus through the majority white crowd, the Democratic Party was looking to provoke a negative reaction. They didn’t get it. So they made it up.

The proof that the N-word wasn’t said once, let alone 15 times, as Rep. Andre Carson claimed, is that soon thereafter — even though the press dutifully reported it as truth — Nancy Pelosi followed the alleged hate fest, which allegedly included someone spitting, by walking through the crowd with a gavel in hand and a shit-eating grin on her face. Had the incidents reported by the Congressional Black Caucus actually occurred the Capitol Police would have been negligent to allow the least popular person to that crowd – the Speaker – to put herself in harm’s way.

That crowd was a sea of new-media equipment. Not only were tens of thousands people armed with handicams, BlackBerrys and iPods, so also was the mainstream media there, covering every inch of the event. Why did not one mainstream media outlet raise the specter that perhaps a video would exist to prove the events occurred? I am still dealing with the same press telling me we didn’t prove that ACORN was aiding and abetting criminal activity because we “did not provide enough audio and video evidence.” (Insert laugh track.) Is there not a blatant double standard at play here? Nancy Pelosi tipped her hand that race was a central part of her strategy. She invoked the Civil Rights Act and compared it with the universally reviled health care bill. Her caucus is doubling down on the civil-rights rhetoric. There are no coincidences.

Leftist Agenda Over Profit: Hollywood Resurrects Toxic Rosie O.

by Kurt Schlichter

I must have missed the groundswell of support and the public clamor for the return of Rosie O’Donnell to the daytime airwaves.  It seemed that her time in the cultural spotlight had passed following her notorious 2008 variety show failure (It was hailed by one merciful critic as “dead on arrival”) and her exile to a daily Sirius XM radio show that caters to creepy shut-ins and those unlucky listeners who can’t figure out how to tune-in to Howard Stern.  But like some sort of loudmouthed, frumpy, left-wing vampire who just won’t stay in the ground, she is threatening to rise again with a terrifying plan to replace Oprah once the Queen of Daytime TV retires in 2011.  Someone in Hollywood, please – break out the garlic.

Rosie-Live

Of course, I’m hardly Rosie’s daily television show target demographic.  I work for a living instead of sitting at home staring slack-jawed at the succession of Sham-Wow commercials and ads for shyster lawyers promising big payouts for the imaginary injuries of their deadbeat clients that fill the time between inane segments of mindless yak.  And while the social parasite demographic seems to grow larger after every freebie, hand-out and pay-off the Administration and its Congressional flunkies issue in favor of their employment-averse constituents, Rosie O’Donnell still seems like a bad economic bet.

This is no longer the same country as it was back in 1999 when Rosie was honchoing her first daytime gabfest and hassling Tom Selleck over his support for the Second Amendment of the Constitution.  It’s not even the same country as it was in May 2007, when the former “Queen of Nice’s” anti-conservative bile culminated in her slandering American fighting men and women as terrorists on The View: (more…)

ObamaCare: A Good Night For Tyranny

by Gary Graham

But it was a bad night for Liberty.

Oh man.  I didn’t want to write a blog today.  Damn those Dems.  (And a special F-U to you twits who voted them in.)   A bad night for Liberty.

obamacare

But it was a good night for Chicago politics.  It’s nice to know some things never change; that back-room arm-twisting, extortion, blackmail, bribes, and pay-offs can still work wonders when applied judiciously by Leftists Speakers of the House, Presidents (and their hatchet men), and Senate leaders.   Even ‘principled’ Democrats like pro-life Rep Bart Stupak folded like a proud jellyfish. (Any stupidly spineless act of Congress will henceforth be regarded as “a Stupak” as in, “Looks like those idiots on The Hill pulled another Stupak!”)

Yes, Lady Liberty took a serious kick in the teeth last night.  The health care bill will put one-sixth of the U.S. economy in the hands of the federal government.   But even worse than assisting further in the bankrupting of our economy, our freedoms are now seriously diminished.

We Americans became considerably less free last night. (more…)

The Culture War Divide: American Exceptionalism

by Evan Sayet

With the stunning announcement of his pending retirement, Evan Bayh – only recently on the short list to be Barack Obama’s running mate in 2008 – the question of partisanship has once again become central to our national debate.

FeaturedImage

The conventional wisdom is that it is mere partisanship that is hampering the progress of necessary legislation in Washington (and in state capitols as well).  This is a both wrong and dangerous conclusion, one that misses the real and important point: Americans are divided not just on policy but on their most basic beliefs about the most fundamental of issues, from the nature of man to the meaning of our existence, from the reality of God to the purpose of governance – and at its core, it is a question of one’s beliefs about the existence of the better.

Proof that our divisions run deeper than a mere “hooray for our side” partisanship is that the culture war is raging outside of the halls of governance, with people with no vested interest in the victory of an “R” or a “D” just as adamant and even militant as are the professionals. (more…)

Burnt Offering: Common Sense Health Care Solutions From An Everyday American

by Robert Davi

I am sick of speeches, I am sick of promises, I am sick of hearing the same old rhetoric:  The State of the Union with all the applause and heads nodding in agreement or disagreement — the ping pong of politics, the white noise that drones on until we’re numbed and anesthetized with everything but the truth… Then there’s the opposition’s rebuttal — which is about as exciting as eating hot watermelon. I watch the good-old slaps on the back and think, “How can they all forget about Fannie and Freddie? The CRA? That THEIR policies created this mess!?!”

healthcare

For too long the American people have been bamboozled and lulled into a false sense of This Is The Greatest Nation On Earth. Don’t get me wrong, I think it is, but my mother used to tell me as a kid, “Self-praise stinks.”  When I asked her why, she explained that it can intoxicate you into laziness. I’m not saying the American people are lazy, but our elected officials get up, give a speech, and somewhere say, “Greatest Nation On Earth” and we all feel better and go on about our day not paying attention, enough attention, to what’s going on, and trusting that the latest line of shit we’ve been fed is the truth — no matter what side of the political spectrum you’re on.

Then the marketing machine starts selling to the public … a pile of dung. Haven’t you heard for years the same old issues over and over and over ad infinitum?  Well, the patient is bleeding to death and we do not need a tourniquet, we need  amputations: Get everyone out of office who does not have America’s and the American people’s best interests at heart. The Obamunism Bikini

by Victoria Jackson

I think the sleeping giant has been awakened.

Now the sleeping giant needs to put on some clothes.

Hallelujah!  I was praying about our country.  And then, Scott Brown dropped out of the sky. My friend Bonnie was praying and fasting.  I said, “Fasting?  You weigh 90 lbs.!”

She said, “I am fasting from Glenn Beck.  Fasting means abstaining from anything that you love, not just food.”

IMG_0176

Oh good.  Because I can’t even go two hours without popping a Coffee Nip (hard candy, 30 calories each) in my  mouth.  Maybe I’ll fast from Coffee Nips in an effort to enhance my prayer intensity.  Only God can save our country.

So, our prayer and fasting is working.  Millions of us have been praying.  And, thanks to Glenn Beck we are learning exactly who our enemy is.  Whether you call it Progressive, Radical, Far Left, Communist, or Socialist, it is one thing – Government Control.  Those two words don’t register in many minds because our secular school system ”forgot” to teach political science and accurate history.  Communism destroys freedom, annihilates Christianity, kills people, and doesn’t work. I recently sang my “There’s a Communist Living in the White House” song to a 12 year old.  He said, “What’s a Communist?”  I said, “Here’s your crash course in politics – Communism is the opposite of Freedom.” (more…)

Mr. President You Are Blocking the Sun

by Joseph C. Phillips

It is said that when Alexander the Great visited the philosopher Diogenes he asked the wise man if there was anything he could do for him. Diogenes is said to have replied, “Yes. Stand a little less between me and the sun.”

I thought of Diogenes as I read portions of the president’s speech from Cleveland, Ohio. The New York Times reports that the president used the word fight or some version of it more than 20 times.

obama-halo

Mr. Obama vowed to fight for jobs; he promised to fight for quality education; he promised to fight for health care; fight for transparency in government. He promised to fight! Fight! Fight! And never stop fighting. “So long as I have some breath in me,” he said, “so long as I have the privilege of serving as your President, I will not stop fighting for you.”

Such pronouncements of chivalry no doubt came as a surprise to the parents and children of the opportunity scholarship program. (more…)
