Today, Jon Stewart — Free Speech Warrior — Is My Hero
by Larry O'ConnorIn the past year, we’ve had plenty of opportunities (and reasons) to criticize Jon Stewart’s routine attacks on conservatives, talk radio, Fox News and other opponents of reflexive liberalism.
But not today.
| The Daily Show With Jon Stewart | Mon – Thurs 11p / 10c | |||
| South Park Death Threats | ||||
|
||||
Put in the difficult position to address his network’s controversial decision to censor a “South Park” episode that mocked Islamic extremists, he deftly put the network’s decision in context, back-handedly criticized it but summed it up with an adroit, “But hey, they write the checks.”
Then Jon Stewart performs a spectacular pivot reminiscent of Wes Unseld in his prime and focuses his rage exactly where it should be: on the animals who used their unhinged interpretation of Islam to threaten the lives of Stewart’s colleagues, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. He goes on to show highlights of how The Daily Show has targeted all religions from the Amish to the Jews, from Methodists to Wiccans.
Backed by a gospel choir, he sums up this celebration of free speech and true tolerance with a musical message “to anyone threatening death in the name of religion or politics” with the pithy and resonant lyrics: “Go F*ck Yourself!”
Today, Jon Stewart is my hero. He should be a hero to every weak-kneed, lily-livered, cowardly member of the American media, from the reporters who meekly submit to arbitrary authority to the jellyfish executives who cower in their Sixth Avenue towers over threats from guys living in some cave or Brooklyn basement.
And he should be yours too.

Humorous cartoon titled "The Lions' Pit and the Pentagon" that shows what happened to Franklin Graham this week for speaking out against radical Islam back in 2001. See the cartoon at http://drawfortruth.wordpress.com/category/politi...
Too little, too late Jon Stewart — you're only worried some of your comedy material is going to be taken away. How brave.
Why don't you really mock Islam and Al-Qaeda now? Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, and the rest of Hollywood Hillbillies have no trouble mocking Christians 24 / 7, but are too chicken to mock Islam or Jews because they fight back.
Thanks for nothing Jon Stewart. You're comedy is really disguised hate speech.
.
I appreciate Jon Stewart simply because he really is right on this stuff, and maybe it takes a blatant situation to get his attention, but when it's gotten he tells his primarily liberal audience what is what. And who are they going to listen to? Glenn Beck or O'Reilly? But it might get through when Stewart says it.
His bit about ACORN was golden. His bit about whatshisface forgetting that Obama was black was unforgiving and spot on. And it's about time people on the left rediscovered the notion of free speech. It really is about time.
They do mock Judaism and to a lesser degree Islam. Did you watch the video? If so, how did you miss the montage of Jew jokes?
BS. Stewart did one hell of a lot of tap dancing. He would have looked better if he just STFU and said he wasn't allowed to discuss it. I was expecting to see him all over it but apparently his BS dedector doesn't work on himself. Hell he even took the company line that the network was trying to protect them. The South park guys are big boys and they knew exactly what they were doing.
But it's so simple:
1. Sic the FBI on the Islamic terrorists for making serious death threats
2. Arrests said terrorists
3. Prosecute
4. Free Speech restored
Now and incompetent government that can't run a railroad, a post office, SocSec, Medicare, Medicaid, Cash for Clunkers, etc10 can't even protect our 1st Amendment right given to us from God.
I said it the first time this story was posted, I'll say it again: There is no "unhinged interpretation" of Islam, there is only Islam. Muhammad had anyone who questioned or opposed him murdered in cold blood, and even praised one of his followers for shoving a bow through a sleeping shepherd's eye after he had shared his campfire with said follower, because, of course, that shepherd was an unbeliever.
Research "Abu Afak" and "Asma bin Marwan". They are only two examples of many which stand in testimony to the truth of Muhammad and his Islam – that it is nothing more than the cult of an insane dictator.
A broken clock is right twice a day … Stewart is still a schmuck.
As Treacher says, "Clown nose on, clown nose off." I don't think there's anything heroic about Jon Stewart. Would I rather have him in my foxhole than Bill Maher? Yeah, because I wouldn't be tempted to frag him, but hero he ain't.
Agreed … in fact a peaceful, non violent, tolerant interpretation of Islam is an apostate one. Kind of like Baha'i is to Christianity.
I highly recommend everyone go to Robert Spencer's Jihad Watch site and read through his "Blogging the Quran".
He gets one point for telling off the US residents (be they citizens or not) that cannot understand the first amendment and the protections it grants. But as Namor- The Sub Mariner once said of Dr. Doom "Even a broken clock is right twice a day." That's one more than Mr. Stewart is in a whole year.
OK, I give it up for Jon Steward. He may be a Lefty but at least he makes an attempt to shoot the lights out on both sides of the street.
Of the montage showing the mocking of religions, I didn't see any Islamic bashing on this Jon Stewart segment. Sharia law and censorship of media and comedy is already being played out.
Even the Yale University author had the image of Muhammad removed from her book — and it was about the image of Muhammad that had been done in Holland!
Until Hollywooder, Larry David, can urinate on the image of Muhammad like he did on the image of Jesus, we will not be free of Sharia law and be free of muslim intimidation. Or, in fairness to Christians, perhaps he should not perform hateful acts against Christians and urinate on a pictures of Jesus?
.
Jon Stewart's Johnny come lately, weak, half-baked defense of SOMEONE else's true act of genuine political courage and defense of free speech, doesn't cut it. Many people have condemned Comedy Central in the last weeks for its gutless, craven bend over to political correctness and fear of Islamic backlash and this included questioning why there was not one peep out of Comedy Central's big shot, fearless "news" anchor/commentator Jon Stewart on a free speech controversy his own network was responsible for.
In an effort to regain credibility and answer critics demanding he finally speak out FOR free speech without qualifications, Stewart performed a perfunctory "comedy bit" that lacked sincerity and ignored the gravity of the situation. Too little, too late. However, if Sarah Palin, any Republican, or a tea party participant were to say the slightest untoward thing, you can betcha old tail gunner Leibowitz will be hot on their trail relentlessly because "incivility" is a far worse crime than terrorism or wholesale mass murder.
The montage was specifically showing all of the *other* religions and what mocking they put up with and I do think Stewart was more or less serious that this deserved a "thank you" from him and Comedy Central.
The point was well made… what makes Muslims like those in this group think they are so special and their violent threats justified?
But true enough… if they'd *wanted* to put slams of Islam in there they wouldn't have found any.
Today, Jon Stewart is my hero….And he should be yours too
No, he should not. His statement on radical Islam is correct, but that doesn't require veneration. Perhaps the light is going on, but it's very intermittent; only time will tell.
Did you read the article?
Sounds like people are so threatened by Jon Stewart. I mean do you even watch his show? It's truly unbelievable.
Hey, if Stewart wants to continuously quote Dick Cheney's reply to Patrick Leahy (Go F*ck yourself), then more power to him. Although Commie Central should think about running Cheney's name in the end credit roll.
Actually, except for Stewart's embarrassingly immature song and dance in response to Bernie Goldberg, I think Stewart does some good by calling-out the MSM and Fox too.
I recall when Stewart (and his staff) caught Hannity plugging old Tea Party rally footage in with the latest tea party in order to make it "look larger." (The old footage had nice, green foliage from the 9/12 rally and the actual clips from that day featured bare trees in the colder season.)
I was sorely disappointed in Fox and Hannity, but it makes Fox run a tighter ship, knowing that Stewart might call them out. And if Stewart didn't expose some of the LSM to his audience, they might never know about some of the falsehoods and deliberate omissions they make on networks like BS-NBC and See-BS.
I'm no fan of Stewart's, but look at him as a fair opponent — who is willing to expose his own media pals on the left.
What's unbelievable? That we watch the show? That we don't watch the show? That we "sound" like we're threatened or that we "are" threatened.
You've actually managed to dangle a participle across three sentences. Kudos.
Exactly. The show had a lot of potential, but I just felt like something was missing. Oh yeah, the go f*ck yourself, MOHAMMED part. These assholes are bullies and there is only one way to deal with a bully. The hackers who jacked the revolutionmuslim site and pulled it down have more balls than all of Hollywood and CC together. That was saying, you're in America now, biotch, and this is what happens when you f*ck with us!
OK. That wasn't too far off the line he had to tread to save both his reputation and his check. I would have preferred him to be a little more "edgy" in his humor over the last nine years in regard to Islamic Facism. I saw one, maybe two small jokes about Islam in his religious joke montage, but Trey and Matt go for it with a greater gusto. And I think Stewart just takes shots from the sidelines.
Stewart knows his audience. I'm not one of them, but I do smile and chuckle sometimes at some of his jokes about my faith. His core audience aren't typically people of religious practices. They are the ones that have dropped most of the religious stuff and just claim the safe position of identity, allowing for an element of safety in all camps. I understand that. What I would like to see from Jon and his supporters is an awareness of the lunatic nature of the fringe from all religions. And by lunatic I mean those that are willing to kill and maim those who disagree with them.
I don't believe there are any where near the numbers of fringe Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Amish, etc. that there are of Islam, however small or large that number is. I just want those followers of Islam to stand up, denounce that fringe element in their own religion and do something about it. And explain to those of us who do not follow their beliefs how they can call themselves Islam when it sounds like the tenents of their religion is to kill those who do not believe the same way they do.
Your assessment is fair, but all things considered, Jon only 'exposes' his 'pals' to try and appear center of politics. He doesn't do it for anything else. He's just a trivially 'useful idiot' who acts like some smartass college moron, which ironically makes up most of his audience.
I know what you're saying, but they merely mocked Jewish Characterizations and mannerisms as cute and cuddly, not demean the religion.
OK. That wasn't too far off the line he had to tread to save both his reputation and his check. I would have preferred him to be a little more "edgy" in his humor over the last nine years in regard to Islamic Facism. I maybe saw one small joke about Islam in his religious joke montage, but it could have just been a Jewish thing, but Trey and Matt go for it with a greater gusto. And I think Stewart just takes shots from the sidelines.
In true South Park form, let me correct your post
1. Sic the FBI on the Islamic terrorists for making serious death threats
2. Arrests said terrorists
3. Prosecute
4. Free Speech restored
5.????????
6. PROFIT!!
If you watch South Park you know the joke.
Operation Islamichan http://partyvan.info/wiki/Operation_Islamichan
I know what you're saying, but they merely mocked Jewish Characterizations and mannerisms as cute and cuddly, but did not demean the religion.
They don't piss on a menorah or Star of David. They don't piss on the Koran. Larry David pissed on a picture of Jesus and that sort of thing does on all the time. Just saying.
Until Jon Stewart calls out his own network for their gutless, yellow cowardice in censoring South Park but no other comedy venues that mock, ridicule, and slander literally every other single group to one extent or the other without apology or refrain; he can save his breath.
I'm on board with that. Exactly. That whole bit was a choreographed cop out.
I agree, and think Islam is an intolerant religion and the fundamentalists are merely following what the Koran says to do.
I think he tried and failed on this one — because he didn't go all the way. He was too afraid to mock "He who shall not be named" — Mohammad. Too afraid. Censorship lives on.
Didn't go far enough — mock all equally with no punches pulled. The fact he did not say F**k Mohammed or Islam, or some such, shows he's afraid too.
Please, Stewart, is just another liberal mouthpiece that throws a controversial statement out once in a while to look edgy. He had his head handed to him when tried to take down John Yoo. He was out-classed and totally looked the vacuous lefty. It's worth hunting that down on YouTube.
Not threatened — merely wondering why he's such a wimp when he brands himself the killer app for skewering.
Ongoing censorship and death threats? And the best he can do is say f**k you to the Islamic Revolution website.
He censored himself – and became another victim.
Please, give me a break, there no entertainment product that is "unbelievable" on the vast wasteland of the Boob Tube. It all gets old fast. You really have set the bar pretty low for yourself.
He spent most of his time on other religions so he wouldn't have to spend more time on Islam — what's so rave about that?
He's another victim of Sharia law imposing it's will on American. Our president is leading the charge and doing the same thing, but has no trouble dissing Christians or Jews.
video message to muslim extremists

LOL!!!!! Your truthfully in-your-face comment gave me a good laugh. Thanks!
The weak kneed, lily livered cowardly jellyfish that make up our media and artistic community will bend over backwards to avoid offending Islam, going so far so as to bury their heads in the sand, making it that much easier to be lopped off.
I'm tired of him thinking 'go F##K yourself' is funny at all. That's your tagline Jon? Really? That's what you want to be remembered for? You and a dozen other B list comedians who use the f bomb to close their jokes will be in the bargain bins next year. Here's your sign.
Jon Stewart was very week in his anti-censorship defense by turning it into a lesson on moral equivalency. He tap-danced around the subject and defended Comedy Central’s censorship of South Park because the thugs who threatened the creators of South Park in the name of Islam have freedom of speech too and something about conservatives are bad because they lump all Muslims together as terrorists. Comedy Central and Jon Stewart are very courageous when it comes to lampooning Christians, Jews and every other religion except Islam (with some very lame exceptions). This is the second time Comedy Central has censored South Park over Islam after saying they wouldn’t do it again and it was a mistake the first time. The cowards and hypocrites at Comedy Central have allowed a small piece of our liberty to be widdled away.

phe- that was one awful show, and not funny at any point.
Just it made me to realize more, that these ''comedians'' don't have any creativity or culture at all.
All these relentless attacks on religions, what kind of humor is in that? It's all so shallow and primitive, embarrassing, I couldn't even watch that episode to the end.
And that this guy could be anybodies hero? Thank you, no!
Honestly, I think we gotta give credit where credit is due on this one. I disagree with Stewart, but he gives allot of the Right Wingers on his show a fair shot, and lets face it, his motivations for attacking Fox News might always be right, but they are certainly at least almost as conservatively biased as MSNBC is Liberal. The point is, when he said that despite all their disagreements, that the people at Fox and other Right wingers were in general, fundamentally good people, you gotta respect him for that, because you sure as hell arnt going to get that Kieth Olbermann.
Oh, like TOTALLY, oh my God! I mean, macsi – OMG – you are such a tool! Liberals are such savages. Go watch "Glee" and have a report back to us by next monday, OMG!!!!
Still a sophomoric schmuck schlepping smug smack in small silly sound bites. So sad, Stewart sucks.
Jamesb's motto: Republicans for Free Weed!
I don't like Jon Stewart's "comedy" because I don't consider mockery, condescencion and juvenile taunts funny. However, I appreciate the message of this clip. He has more cajones than most would have – how many other comedians with a regular show do you know that would say something so blatantly anti-Islam (or, in his mind extreme Islam)? Props for this one. Still not a fan and won't watch regularly.
What "unhinged interpretation" of Islam? This is ISLAM, plain and simple. This is what the Koran and the example of Muhammad's life teach. There is no interpretation going on here. They are following the straightforward teachings of Islam itself.
BS. If you think that Sean Hannity pulls his own video clips for his segments, you know nothing about television. What Stewart did, was to sensationalize a complete non-story and probably get some 25 year-old kid with a dream of being a TV executive fired.
Gee, what a hero. {/sarcasm}
Big Hollywood » Today, Jon Stewart — Free Speech Warrior — Is My Hero…
Trackback from PunditKix…
Did he at any time mention the words "radical Muslim", "radical Islam", "Muhammad", or "terrorism"?
THAT'S what I want to know.
Dude…imperious rex 'n all, but you don't help your argument when you reference Prince Namor/
That "retort" makes ZERO sense. Good job.
Stewart shouldn't ever, ever, dance again, but the montage made me laugh (& realize the show takes itself waaaay too seriously now).
I actually liked this bit and I appreciate that in his own little leftist world this is a BFD what he said. He apologized to every religion he ever made fun of – tongue in cheek of course – and those montages were very very funny btw as none of them, not even the ones about Christians were really that bad at all unless you have a bug up your butt.
He even made sure that he was not equating the Americans he disagrees with on Fox, etc. from the morally bankrupt, moronic, evil Islamic fundamentalists that threaten death when they are offended. And I found that to be sincere.
Like someone else said – we'd be hard pressed to ever hear anything like this from Olbermann, Madcow, Matthews, and company.
Cont'd
Sure, it wasn't like is just became a Born Again Conservative, but from a leftist, it was something. And it also proves to me that there are more Americans, even those that consider themselves left of center, that believe that Islamic fundamentalists are evil and that their constant whining about being offended and threats of death are uncalled for in a tolerate civilized society. Maybe we disagree on the means of dealing with the evil, but I think more and more Americans are ready to acknowledge the evil.
It's kind of like more and more Americans will be more willing to acknowledge that the current Admin and their minions in Congress are not doing good for this country, not because of anything WE say, but by witnessing THEIR actions. At some point, common sense does win out. People do eventually wake up.
So, Jon, thank you for going as far as you did. I do sometimes find you to be funny. But you do need to open up your repetoire – the Left is just as funny as the Right. There is absurdity and silliness on both sides of the aisle and when you take care of both, you will find an even bigger audience.
I'm not the only one for whom the "…or Jews" here sticks out, right?
Cause… I'm no comedy historian… but I'm REASONABLY certain that jokes about Judaism are kinda… "prevalent" in American comedy… and have been for the better part of, what, fifty to sixty years?
I mean, not for nothing, but most of what your average gentile knows about Jews he learned from Jewish standup comics
"Of the montage showing the mocking of religions, I didn't see any Islamic bashing on this Jon Stewart segment."
The "foot-bath" bit right at the very beginning was about Islam.
I like seeing people react to this as though Stewart making fun of Islam, liberals or "agreeing" with conservatives is some kind of once-in-a-lifetime never seen event.
If you watched the show even semi-regularly, as opposed to only ever seeing it in the form of clips and "WAAAH!!! HE'S MAKING FUN OF US!!!! WATCH THIS AND BE ANGRY ABOUT IT!!!!" bellyaching on Breitbart etc's sites, you'd see this sort of thing all the time. Daily Show gives it to damn near everybody. I know that doesn't fit with the ridiculous "palace guard" mythology here, but there it is.

OK Stage Right
I give Stewart a +1 for this show…..\\
But only because he finished with a Blues Brother exit LOL!
Could it be true that one on the Left is developing is finally realizing that the VAST majority of Americans are actually tolerant and nice people? What a shock that we are not the despicable hate-mongers that they make us out to be. My dream is that one day… they'll grow up. When he said that he realized that he needed to thank the other religions… I caught a glimpse of something… I don't know what… but it was something.
I honestly didn't think Stewart had the stones to mock Comedy Central for censoring South Park. But before we give him an "Attaboy" award, consider this: Stewart is allowed to bite the hand that feeds him and mock his employer for censoring South Park. Meanwhile, Episode 201 is still not available for streaming from southparkstudios.com, and SuperBestFriends was taken down this week because someone realized Muhammad is walking around uncensored for the whole episode.
Stewart is a tool…of Comedy Central. Like a true court jester, he mocks the king and queen but never in a way that would result in him losing his head.
Sorry. He's still Jon Stewart. Taking the safe and easy shots doesn't make him a hero in my book (Trey and Matt actually were much more edgy and even funnier when they tackled this topic the first time). Stewart is still leaning on the tired "go f*ck yourself", and taking a stance that would have been risky years ago. Past his prime.
Personally, I feel J-Stew played it pretty safe here. Had he said "Go f— yourself" to his own employers at Cowardly Central for their miserably spineless censorship of South Park, now that would have been ballsy.
At any rate, I rarely find J-Stew funny, even when he's on "our side."
Sounds like some people are threatened by prick internet thugs, and then they fold, and then someone says the thugs are bad and ought to be ashamed, but that doesn't make him a hero.
It should be obvious why John Liebowitz aka John "Stewart" is willing to speak out against radical Muslims. His people and Muslims have been going at it for centuries.
The one-world communitarians, have their shill and it's this guy. And who are the communitarians? In general, they were the prettiest and most popular kids in school who evolved into unapologetic elitists and celebrities; your stars, politicians, clerics and lawyers. They can't help themselves. They need at least global attention. And then of course there's the Jews, the champions of overreaching and boundary issues, and, voila, Stewart. The Jews may not control the media, but by mitzvah they go for it. They're chosen and they must meddle by commandment. There's no stopping the religious, even if they're "secular." Although, I'd be more impressed if John Stewart blew himself up. I'd say a prayer for that! One less meddler peddler.
it's really too bad he cannot support Conservatives having the same freedom of speech.
You think Jon Stewart wouldn't want to shut up Fox News if he could? He may not have as much material for his show, but I think his ideology is more important to him than his show. I agree with others who have posted that this in no way makes Jon Stewart an admirable figure. It doesn't take any courage to condemn a group who would murder people who would even SHOW a pictorial representation of Mohammed, much less mock him. But I suppose they are following the example of their leader. Mohammed and his group rode around and murdered Jews or Christians in villages who would not convert to Islam. This is one of those historical facts that gets suppressed because it leads to a violation of our politically correct supplication to Islam, while at the same time Christianity is mocked from every side. Let's just compare.
Jesus said: Love thine enemy and turn the other cheek.
Muhammed said: Make war upon the infidel.
Jesus said: Love thy neighbor as thyself.
Muhammed said: Take not Jews nor Christians as your friends.
Jesus's message was predicated ENTIRELY on love, acceptance, and peaceful relations, even for the worst moral offenders, to whom he often ministered directly.
Muhammed's message may have a few redeeming or benign qualities, but it would be wrong to say it is completely free of advocating violence, mistrust, and hatred. The man himself was a warrior who personally beheaded people who would not convert to Islam.
Parker and Stone MADE Comedy Central.
Without them Stewart would be long past second-lead funny guy in Summer romantic comedies. He would probably be back to doing stand up and touring with it, and not A-list clubs either.
Stewart can thank South Park for his success, but he won't.
I agree with poster above. Too little…too late.
Just curious, has The Daily Show EVER mocked Islam?
Watch out!
Or you too will have veiled death threats sent to your inbox!
/sarc
And urinating on Jesus makes it all right….how?
I don't think Jon Stewart plays Call of Duty.
Ah, good ol' selective bravery.
It's all right to attack and vilify Judaism and Christianity – but like the MSM ask softball questions to Obama and Naomi Campbell, there is no hard searching for the truth with Islam.
Jon Stewart and his ilk are heroes. Not yesterday. Not in the future.
Heroes are the brave men and women serving in our Armed Forces every single day, no matter where in the world.
Heroes are the brave men and women of our fire and police departments, dealing with violent morons or those in peril.
ONE "attack" on the company that pays him does not a hero make of Jon Stewart, a man who consistently and repeatedly attacks Conservatives and their values.
I've got nothing against Call of Booty. I just don't think consider most comedians heroic. Many of them developed their chops trying to salvage a little self-respect while not getting beaten up, and good for them. But heroic? Don't tase me, sis.
Agreed. Completely. One could note that JS did the right thing, perhaps even thank JS for doing so, but venerate? He's still a just leftist prick with a remarkable gift for gab.
The most encouraging point in Stewart's rant was that he acknowleged that his Fox News "Nemesii" (gotta love it) were not the enemy, but that Islamic extremists are. Maybe he knows this better than most lefties because he is Jewish, and understands hatred as an existential threat. Too many of his comrades act like the Tea Party is a greater threat to the republic than jihad.
I have never watched a John Stewart show. I see snippets of him, however, and if he were half as funny or pithy as he thinks he is, he'd be a howl.
I have to agree, Stewart is about seven years past his primetime ability to 'speak truth to power'.
Stewart's Liberal Useful Hollywood Idiots said nothing when it mattered most yet now Stewart is crawling out of his sewer so he can pretend he is making some grand statement? Not buying your act, Stewart!
Go F*ck yourself Stewart; for seven years you and your Useful Idiots spent so much time bashing Bush and America that now YOU are the Islamist fatwa target de jour.
Stewart-I won't be coming to your defense.
Stewart-you let the Jihadists cut out your tongue!
He's one of the few libs that truly seems to understand that Free Speech is for all, not just what they want to hear.
Stewart made fun of Comedy Central caving to the islamists. But why do that if he himself is going to cave ? He did not make fun of the islamists; he did not make fun of mohammed. But AGAIN he made fun of Christians at the end of the segment. Disgusting …
My daughter life long dream is to attend William and Mary Law School. On one hand we have Jon Stewart on the other we have Mike Tomlin. What a putz. To be able to construct a comedy routine without the use of four letter words, now that would newsworthy.
Amen.
As the son of an orthodox jew your statement reads like someone saying we arent making fun of christianity, just christians.
Because hes not protesting Muslims, you completely missed the point. Hes protesting people who use religion to justify thuggary. Any religion. Seriously that isnt hard to understand.
actually the footbath remark at the beginning was, as was the asid sketch at the end. maybe you should pay attention? Regardless, the point of the segment isn't to single out islamics, its to single out the use of religion to bully others.
John Screwart is a masturbatory fantasy in his own mind. He should be named "Hoover" because nothing sucks like him.
[...] FREE SPEECH HERO: Jon Stewart on South Park Death Threats. [...]
shhhhh, too factual
Thanks for proving MY point. And my point was very easy to understand the example being the infamous cartoon being published here again and pointing out they (these Breitbart blogs) can be more edgy. You pointed out he is not protesting muslims and correctly identified he was protesting a different but related issue: Ah yes, Stewarts misdirection from South Park mentioning Mohammad. Now go ahead and commence the personal attack if you want, I expect it. Before you do I would look around at the other replies as it seems most others tend to agree with me.
I agree with those who say the Stewart is too little too late. He is not my hero for dancing around actually dissing Islam. Until he and others like him are willing to do same, then they are letting the terrorists and those who kowtow to them (see producers of South Park) take away our freedom of speech. I have no interest in dissing any religion, but it is my right in America to do so it I choose. They seem to forget that and only are interested in dissing those religions whose members will not retaliate with death threats. Grow up and get a backbone.
Come on, man. April Fools was weeks ago. Just go back to being a mindless neo-con idiot so I can get some laughs, already…
When someone says something I agree with–heck yeah I'm going to congratulate him. I can't understand some of the comments I just read. . ."Jon Stewart offended me a long time ago–whine whine whine."
Geez. I thought his ending, where he described Fox as adversaries, but not the enemy–was PERFECT.
Do I always like Jon's schtick? No. Not even most of the time. But he is ON THE MONEY in this monologue.
Yeah, he's still Jon Stewart. His only allegiance is to himself. If confronted with a radical, knife-wielding Muslim he'd probably immediately drop to his knees and beg for his life … and then try to direct the Islamofascist to some other potential victim down the hallway.
The guy is a total junkyard dog mostly blinded by his own self-righteous cognitive dissonance, and whose bark is worse than his bite when it comes to confronting true fascism – whether Islamofascist or Demo-fascist. His inability to see congressional and White House Democrats gang raping Lady Liberty a few weeks back with their cramming through of the HealthScare obamanation and not taking them to task for their opportunisitic violation of the 5th, 9th and 10th Amendment as well as their overt violation of the limited government enumeration of powers in Article 1 Section 8 pretty much tells an informed person where Stewart's head really is … firmly attached to Obama's backside vis a vis his lips. Stewart isn't stupid or ill educated, he should know what's really happening to this country, but he is, as Lenin described such people, "a useful idiot" for leftist causes.
Larry David pissed on a picture of Jesus and the silly Christians immediately quit their jobs to take the picture on the road and share it with everyone. Because they actually believed a picture could cry. Did you ever think that maybe Christians are just the easiest target out there?
"Before you do I would look around at the other replies as it seems most others tend to agree with me. "
obama also won the popular vote that doesn't mean it was correct. And its not a misdirection, he was protesting a valid point you're just getting your panties in a bunch because its not your point. That seems silly to me.
