Amidst the uproar over Rush Limbaugh having to step aside from his participation in the bid to purchase the NFL’s St. Louis Rams over racially insensitive statements he never actually made, is the fact that current ACTUAL owners of an NFL team have said much worse than the false and the left says nothing.

Jennifer Lopez, whose Sondheim-like lyric genius is on display at the top of this post, holds the same status with the Miami Dolphins as Limbaugh would have with the Rams. And, not only does she have co-writer credit on this offensive drivel, she also recorded and performed it live. She continues to earn money in royalties for her genius use of the “N-Word.” My guess is that those who took issue with Limbaugh’s imaginary racial slur are OK with J-Lo’s actual racial slur because she looks a lot better in tight pants.

Meanwhile, another minority owner of the Dolphins has some controversial issues with public statements as well. Recently, Dolphins minority owner Serena Williams broke quite a few FCC laws by letting loose an “F-word” filled tirade on live television during the US Open. Then she menacingly threatened a side judge and was subsequently disqualified. This kind of behavior and speech seems to be right in line with the NFL’s standards since I missed the press conference from Commissioner Roger Goodell condemning it.
Finally, we get to Fergie, some-time member of the Black Eyed Peas and some-time solo artist. You betcha, she has also been approved as a minority owner of the Miami Dolphins. Fergie is a huge Obama supporter, so I guess the NFL thought it was pretty cool that she just performed her song “Glamorous” at the White House Easter egg hunt… an event for children. Here’s how the DC Examiner reported the event:
Lines like “wear them gold and diamond rings” and “I’m not clean, I’m not pristine” may not be the dream lyrics for their daughters to emulate, but the song’s repetition of the line “If you ain’t got no money take your broke a** home” made a few parents cringe. She did of course edit the curse word from the song Monday — but some of crowd members helpfully filled it in for her.
It gets better. Earlier this week, Goodell said of Limbaugh’s potential ownership, “Divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about.” Is he splitting hairs between “comments” and “lyrics?” Because these lyrics from a 2003 Black Eyed Peas song sounds pretty divisive to me:

Nothing like accusing the CIA of terrorism and our government of lying to bring people together. Goodell also said, “We’re all held to a high standard here.”

This week the NFL did more to silence conservative political perspectives on the radio then liberals and their “Fairness Doctrine” could ever dream of doing. By bowing to shrill political pressure they forced a group of potential buyers of the St. Louis Rams, headed by Dave Checkett, to drop Rush Limbaugh from the ownership team. Forget for a moment that the heinous statements attributed to Limbaugh were never sourced or substantiated and completely false. Also forget that Limbaugh, as a minority owner, would have no actual control or real influence over personnel or management decisions with the team. None of that matters.
The left hates Limbaugh. He had to be stopped.
But Rush will be just fine. They can’t shut him up; he’s too big. And even if they do pass the “Fairness Doctrine,” he will move to satellite radio and finally give Mel Karmazin a healthy balance sheet.
No, the real danger in all of this is the chilling effect it has on the rest of the conservative world. Those of us articulating our points of view and trying to persuade others. Just like Rush has done for over two decades. And now, the seed has been planted. Someday, we might want to own a football team. Hell, we’re capitalists! Will something we say or write now be twisted around or even made up to smear us and keep us from fulfilling our dream?
Yes, the seed has been planted. They’ve done what the intended to do. It wasn’t about stopping Rush… it was done to stop all of us. And they will lie if they have to, to get what they want.
Change? Yes. Hope? Not so much.

People have left federal service in disgust over this open secret about the huge double standard in your government's workplaces. This has got to stop! Unfortunately, I like a lot of other Quiet Conservatives. Don’t know what to do about it. Our effective speakers are being muzzled. Our Republican Party has become the Democratic Party Lite. The MSM has gone completely liberal, and make no bones about it, and our Government is on the fast track to Socialism!
I've been thinking about some legal protests that may get some attention and have come up with two.
1. Protest with your wallet! What if everyone who disagrees with what's happening in this country didn't file their tax return until April 15? Basically flood the IRS with Tax Returns at the last minute. If Tax revenues were way below the norm until the last minute, I think the Government just might be sweating bullets.
2. Although I'm sure Obamanates would prefer all Obama non-believers wear a Yellow Star, I propose that anyone who does not believe that our Country is on the right track start wearing something black. At the very least a black arm band. Black is used to signify mourning, and I propose that we mourn the loss of Liberty. Wearing something black would also let non-believers know that they are not alone.
Right now We, the Citizens of this country, need to quit quibbling about the lesser differences in our viewpoints and start focusing on the currently most important problem. Our loss of Liberty and free speech. When we attack and ridicule people who don't share all our viewpoints, we are playing right into the hands of the people who want to take over this Country. Divide and Conquer has always been the way to win wars, and our divisions are what the true enemy is using to destroy us. Let's stop this assault on our freedom, and then we can go back to arguing about the other stuff. Unite around common cause, and rebuke anyone who wants to take away our liberty!

Well dang it…. what am I left with now? The Cowboys? and I haven't like the Cowboys since Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith were playing… But hey, I guess I can support the Cowboys now that they moved their stadium and that taxes for that will keep City Employees employed (unlike in Dallas or Fort Worth were they layed hundreds of people off)… anyway I digress…. the Dolphins were the only team I rooted for even on occasion.. and now I don't even have that…. With out a doubt the left is as racist as they come. You can always tell what they really think, because they accuse all their opponents of it.
I think Rush's lawyers are working on cases. But I predict he'll go after Jackson, Sharpton, CNN, other media people who were spouting lies. Possibly even the player's union head.
I think he will do the right thing with respect to the business deal, and simply walk away, retaining his integrity.
The NFL and the Rams made a big mistake. Rush is like Midas, everything he touches in business turn to gold. Though the players in the NFL are 70% black, I would hazard to guess that the fan base is 70% white. It’s never a good idea to spit in the eye of your customer base, we’ll see how it shakes out?

I respectfully wish to inform you that I have completely disagree with your statements concerning the minority ownership of the St. Louis Rams by Mr. Rush Limbaugh.
This is still America, and people have the right to disagree and speak out on it. Your refusal to allow Mr. Limbaugh to participate in the free market buy purchasing a minority stake is absolutely horrendous. Especially when the appropriateness of other minority owners behavior is actually repugnant, rather than simply disagreement.

I am so into college football nowadays – a lot more teams to watch. Games where there are stunning upsets every week. Games where you actually see teamwork developing right before your eyes. It is great. Am I swearing off the NFL? No, but I have other pursuits that I follow on Sundays and Monday evenings now that don't include the NFL. Heck, a few million more like me and these guys might actually start quaking in their boots.
Our family was talking about this yesterday. How stupid is it to tick off your customers? The demographic for the NFL fan base is certainly not centered in the kook fringe!

Black sports writers, commentators, coaches and players criticize white quarterbacks all day long and there is never a suggestion that they are racists, or at the very least racially insensitive, and deserve to be shunned by the NFL for expressing their opinions. For instance, when black former NFL player Tony Dorsett said white quarterback Tony Romo had been given "too much credit for doing nothing,” no one accused him of racism or insensitivity or suggested he be kicked out of the Football Hall of Fame. But when white sports commentator Rush Limbaugh directed a similar criticism at black quarterback Donovan McNabb some years ago, he was demonized and fired by ESPN and today is told there’s no place for him in the NFL. When liberalism rears its ugly head, hypocrisy is sure to follow.

I lost interest in Pro football when I came to the belief that some games are fixed. There are so many ways to fix a game. One can get to a ref or umpire (NBA). One can get to any number of players (horse racing). One can get to coaches, And one can get to owners. There are so many potentially weak links. For anyone who believes that the NFL is inviolate, here's an aphorism for you: Any game that can be bet can be fixed.
Maybe I'm being naive or remembering the past with rose-colored glasses, but it seems to me that it didn't used to be that way. I seem to recall noting when I was younger that as violent as the sport was, very few NFL players or fans seemed to get into trouble for violence off the field.
Frankly, I blame Goodell for the mess that the league is at the moment. He has made it pretty clear that there will be no serious consequences for even the worst behavior: torture animals to death and you can't be re-instated fast enough, break your assistant's jaw and no one will even consider the issue unless legal charges are filed. Given those "incentives," why would anyone bother curbing their worst instincts?
Hey guys…… Screw the NFL…..Try NASCAR and the NHL. Great spectator sports and generally quite conservative among the owners and fans. And try to go to some games and races in person, they are much better experiences than an NFL game.
Get a tape of Mark Messier's retirement ceremony at Madison Square Garden, watch it and then show me an NFL athlete you could admire half as much. Hockey players = REAL professional athletes.

I'm right with you – we gave up the TV in 2001, and the kids grades instantly improved. We read more, go out more, and just live more. I don't miss it a bit, and it's also how I found conservatism – the minute the brainwashing stopped we woke up – it was an eerie experience. Now we can see the bias everywhere – but most are still too under the unfluence of the mainstream media barrage and are simply blinded by it. We pity them – such stupidity needs to be maintained by a steady stream of messages by the MSM. Take away that and they will shrivel and die.

I like to listen to sports talk radio and over the last few days several black callers called in and ripped into the leftwing hosts and were vehemently defending Rush. I was surprised and the hosts were shocked into silence. One of the leftwing hosts brushed off the caller[s] while the other host, to his credit, was attempting to be unbiased and pointed out several times that Rush denied ever making these statements.
Yesterday these hosts mentioned some emails they received form intolerant leftwing lunatics that we’re infuriated with them for not rhetorically lynching Rush despite the fact the statements Rush is accused of making were fabricated by leftwing smear merchants. The hosts then went on to basically call their intolerant leftwing brethren lunatics.

I will be boycotting the NFL. It was bound to happen. The NFL has become a corrupted, political shadow of it's former self. Michael Vick is convicted of animal cruelty yet reinstated. The players are considered "heroes" yet many a lifestyle of these players don't rise to the level of behavior required to be honored with the declaration of being a hero. They are playing a game and that's it. Liberty isn't protected during those games. Disease isn't cured during those games. The only thing that is accomplished is a "redistribution of wealth" from dupes who spend a major portion of their weekly salary taking their families to see a group of humans jump through hoops for their "owners"–the very plantation philosphy the left eschews. Either that or the guys are really big poodles in a doggy circus.

And as far as McNabb the comment Rush made was spot on. Over the years McNabb has developed into a fine quarterback but when the comment was made it was accurate.

I was an NFL fan until this week. I plan to not care about football this week and perhaps the rest of the season. I am going to go further and taunt my coworkers to insinuate football is juvenile. Who cares about a game?
