Why don't you detail for the rest of us here at BH exactly what about my post led you to believe it had ANYTHING to do with the color of their skin?

Perhaps you should give more thought to your posts. Comments such as yours only support what many here have been saying all along. If anyone dares to criticize a person "of color" , except maybe another person of color, they are automatically accused of racism. Believe it or not, it's for this very reason that it remains a divisive issue. If we cannot be critical of people regardless of their race then race will still remain a sore spot for those that are led to believe they have been slighted because of it.

It's like the child whose parents go "awwww" every time the child falls down. If done too often the child will use falling down as a means to get attention. Schoolyard bullies employ a similar tactic by teasing children and embarrassing them into submission. Only when they are called out or teased in return do they find reason to reconsider their words and actions. You who play the race card are nothing more than schoolyard bullies and in my opinion are more like spoiled children starved for attention. You've come here to fall down for us hoping we will go "awwww" but, you see, the race card is played out. It's no longer the ace in the hole it once was. If you want our attention you better pick your ass up off the floor, brush yourself off, and talk plainly or you better damn well be bleeding because the days of "poor baby" are gone. It's time to grow up.

"Also, her decisions are based in 'feelings' and racial bias, not constitutional law."

This is one reason men didn't want to let women vote. Good job, Sotomayor, proving their point for them.

Right on TC, the change we got was to be constantly lied to and browbeaten. Oh, longing for the "good ole days" of the Bush administration!

I believe the gifted and engaging speaker you mention is actually his teleprompter, or the TOTUS. By the way, when he speaks without the TOTUS his IQ drops by about 100 points, his most spoken "words" being "um" and "err".

But, you do allow me to expand on an important point. A declaration of "values" is not a declaration of perfection, that in itself would be shameless pride. It is a stated goal to strive toward. A journey if you will, not a destination. All people are flawed and make mistakes. But with defined values acting as a guide, people can realize their mistakes and take corrective action, improving not only their lives, but society in general. Once you take the moral relativity road, all goals and boundries can be discarded with just the right circumstance, or crises as Rahm put it. There is always an excuse. Read some of Lenin's or Goebbel's treatese on that subject. The result is an ever declining social system, ultimately requiring (justifing) greater and greater levels of government oppression to maintain control. Now of course I'm talking about honest mistakes, not pathelogical conditions. Those who have a pattern of deciept should be held accountable. But, a major tenet of values is that of forgiveness. By forgetting this, conservatives allow the libs to destroy anyone even for an honest mistake. There simply is no need.

Yes, if you Google Pelosi's name you'll find links to a lot of right-wing smears, all of which have been proven to be lies.

Thanx for the info. However, that being said, I still stand by the rest of my comments. There was a time when union membership was significantly higher, the unions are far less popular today and have become marginalized, due ,in part, to the reasons stated in my post and stated here by other commenters. It is , indeed, a sad "state of the union" (pun intended) , thanx once again for the info and comments.
