You'll be saddened that the illegal world of street racing, as presented in the movie, is used as a metaphor for socializing medicine.

I'd watch Vin Diesel in pretty much anything. He's the epitome of what women like myself adore - strong, spine of steel, heart of gold, uncompromising values, a real man's man kinda guy. No pretty-boy metrosexual for me, thanks very much. And best of all, he's an honest-to-God, hardcore gamer and not ashamed of it. I'm just waiting breathlessly for a buddy movie with Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. Man, I'm so there!

I think XXX is his best work. It's got everything that a Bond movie should have, with the added bonus of not having Daniel Craig.

<i> I'm especially excited to see something without any politics or global warming messages. </i>

No kidding.

XXX remains one of my all time favorite movies. I thought Pitch Black was pretty lame, but a necessary evil to set up Riddick's badassedness.

The thing with Vin Diesel is that you're not watching his movies for oscar-nominee style preaching on the world's injustices. You crank up your suspension of disbelief to 11, and you get entertained.

Actually, I gotta admit.. I thought FatF was his "better" film of the four you listed, snake... I was surprised they managed to pull a FatF2 out of the story after the first one.. but i guess they saw Diesel-less green...

39-year old female here, who's been aching to see a blockbuster for the past few months. Oh, yeah - I'll be seeing F&F today. Allow me my one "fluff" movie of the year (I'm especially excited to see something without any politics or global warming messages).

"But Diesel, whose signature line in the original movie is “I live my life one quarter of a mile at a time,” didn’t like the script for the sequel (or they wouldn’t pay his asking price depending on who you ask)."

For crying out loud, what didn't he like in the 2nd script that the first one had? These movies are mindless entertainment with lots of cars.

Were the cars the wrong color in the sequel?

I liked the original, but the plot didn't leave them much of anywhere to go next. Watched about fifteen minutes of 2. Tyrese Gibson didn't seem aware that there were other people in the cast, and Walker looked manically bored (if that's even possible) I like Lucas Black, so I gave "Drift" a chance. Big disappointment, but Black did the best he could with a nothing script (I felt like I was watching a really bad Jet Li movie, only with cars and no Li). Although I think Diesel and Walker both have talent, and played well off each other in the original, I'll wait for the DVD or Hulu.

I never understood how the Fast and the Furious movies got so big. I remember seeing the first one in theaters and I thought it was boring and kind of stupid. Maybe it's because I went to school with a bunch of so called "street racers." They were all annoying douche bags. But no, I saw it recently at a friends house and thought the movie was just lame.
