Lonewolf Diaries: Supporting The Military is Sooo Last Adminstration!
by Steven CrowderIt’s no secret that the good ol’ stars and starlets of tinseltown have no respect for the men and women of our military. Much like our president, however, they’re smart enough to know that they should act as though they do.
It’s exactly why every now and then a Hollywood celebrity will say that they “support our troops but not the war” or that “these men and women shouldn’t be dying in vain.” Is anybody still fooled by those one-liners anymore? Similarly in our president’s case, it’s why he continually says that he supports our troops without giving them so much as a shred of his time. I’m sure that the men and women putting themselves in harms way will understand though. After all, he’s got a meeting with one Mr. David Letterman.

For those who haven’t yet heard, Obama has met with General Stanley McChrystal (the good man in charge of leading our honorable troops to victory in Afghanistan) only once, yes, ONCE in the last seventy days. So it seems apparent that while Obama has no time to devote to the men and women of our armed services (the same people who ultimately make him look good), he has plenty of time to devote to promoting himself.
As Barack Obama devotes more time to personal press than any other president in history (in record time to boot), it’s becoming more and more glaringly apparent… Our president is more Paris Hilton than General Patton.
Just like the toolbags of Hollywood, Barack Obama’s favorite topic of the day is himself. Also, like the folks of Tinseltown, all of the problems plaguing our world today are problems that he and he alone can fix. How would he fix them, you ask?
By regurgitating rhetoric to every broadcast journalist, press-hound or comedian that will sit in front of him, of course!
*Note: The above statement does not apply to those with the last names Hannity and/or O’Reilly.
Sure, when Hollywood turns their backs on our troops, it’s wrong, and it ultimately does hurt morale. When all is said and done, however, I doubt that there are platoons of Marine’s sitting around Afghanistan sulking butt-hurtedly over Sean Penn’s most recent asinine comments. When it comes down to it, in the big picture of war, the people of Hollywood just don’t matter that much.
In contrast to that, there is a direct correlation between our president willfully choosing to ignore those fighting for our freedoms and their success in carrying out their/our mission. Which in turn means that fighting in the military with Barack Obama as Commander in Chief is not the ideal place to be.
In light of this, I’d like to recommend to you, Mr. President that you sack up and start focusing on the things that really matter. If you read below, I’m sure you’ll find that there are many people here who agree (that’s your cue to comment).
Don’t worry about the mainstream media, sir. You can put them on the back-burner for a little while. I promise you that David Letterman will still love you in the morning.

Hatred for the military is their calling card…
So what else is new? This lot, former Weather Underground/SDS/CPUSA fans and followers have always seen the US military as evil, oppressive, fascist imperialists blah blah etc.
We former military types actually kind of like it. Made us warm at night and all. At least you knew who your enemies were. Shame it's fellow citizens…
What are you going to do? Still have to defend their right to be nitwits.
I can see why this President does not meet with the Top Commander in Afghanistan. He can see right through this President. He knows what this President is made of. Obama has no clothing

I am a bit of a Luddite so I do not know how to link to it, but Fox News recently posted an article noting that in just 41 speeches this year, not counting this week's speech before the United Nations, the Obommunist referred to himself nearly 1,200 times – 1,198, to be exact (1,121 “I”s and 77 "me"s.) Yet the Commander in Chief cannot be bothered to speak to General McChrystal – who along with our troops is in harm's way – more than once in 70 days. How many health care speeches has he given in that time? General McChrystal needs to change his name to Letterman – maybe then Obama will take his calls.
he does have a pretty sharp suit…
But it is, essentially, empty.
They don't have a right to sedition or treason. Freedom of speech does not mean you have the right to advocate the violent overthrow of the government.
How about this one. During an election, Dan Rather aired a story that he knew the documenting evidence for was false, he knew it was false because he created the false documents. The story accused a sitting President of being a coward during wartime. I say that a reporter creating false documents and then airing them as if they were real in order to change the outcome of an election is committing sedition and treason and Dan Rather should have been arrested and tried and if convicted given the harshest sentence possible.
It is time that we started holding these liars accountable for the lies they tell which damage our country.

Rise up everyone and heed the man's words. Hold your elected representative accountable. Tell your friends!
Sound the alarm! To the ramparts, men!
Obama has met more often with Letterman, than his Commanders in the Middle East, nuff said.
The comedian Tom Dreesen pointed out (in one of his more serious moments) that many of the high-profile Liberals claiming to "support our troops" aren't really supporting them as fighting men and fighting women — as military personnel — as warriors battling for liberty — but only as "victims" of a pair of unjust and indefensible wars.
Barack Obama, instead of listening to his commanding general in Afghanistan and supplying more troops to the grand cause in Afghanistan, and a cause that Obama has heralded so vigorously since 2001 with Obama considering Afghanistan the main geographic region and role in the fight against what is now called by this administration an "oversea contingency operation" (instead of a war on terror as it should be), he is going to fly over to Europe this Thursday instead – to try and persuade the Olympic committee to give gangland Chicago the Olympics in 2016!?!? Since when is a purported President of the United States obligated to stick his nose in the Olympic committee's business to try and garner favor for his home town to receive the 2016 Olympics?? Millions of people in our Country are out of work as we speak, the war in Afghanistan is reaching "critical" mass, the overall economy is in the proverbial toilet, and ole' Barack Obama is going to go lolly gagging in Europe with his wife Michelle to see if they can get their home town of gangster city Chicago the Olympics in 2016?!?!?! Do you have NO shame!?!?! More like do you have NO conscience!?!?!? When does this guy ever sit down and work?? He is either flying around the world telling whoever will listen how bad America is or he is on TV constantly and telling the American people a bunch of mumbo jumbo about Government run Health Care, etc., that makes no logical sense, or how the false presumption that so called "global warming" will destroy the planet unless we act immediately?? No use either of telling the liberal left that the Earth has actually been in a cooling trend for the last 11 years and/or that the Eastern section of the United States will most likely experience its worst Winter in a decade. Providing facts or examples only confuses and infuriates them apparently because no matter how many facts and/or "real" truths you give this Administration or the Libs in general, they still only see it their way – which is eyes shut, ears covered, and full steam ahead over the cliff apparently.

must not be from Chicago…
Understand the Chicago Thugocracy is what brung 'em. He owes, plain and simple. Good little empty suit that he is he'll comply.
Damn the Afghan issue! Full speed Chicago Olympics. Huzzah!
Remember what Carter did to our military? The thugs in Iran held our embassy personnel for 444 days while our president sat by helplessly, afraid to earn the ire of governments that hated the United States and laughed at our predicament. Now we have another commander-in-chief who doesn't have the guts to fight and win a war. We elected a coward who portrays himself as a man of peace. At least in the end Neville Chamberlain admitted his mistake in believing he could buy peace by handing another country over to a tyrant.
Celebrities never have and never will EVER give one rat's hairy butt about anyone but themselves…they don't even care about one another as fellow celebrites considering they're all in their own "group."
I just mentioned this the other day…Where the hell are all the Hollyweirdos and their peace signs now???????
Where the hell are you now Madge, Grossie Odonnell, and all the other soulless, hopeless, brainless morons? How come you CARED SO MUCH 9 FREAKIN MONTHS AGO BUT FORGET ALL ABOUT IT NOW??
Hollywood you are disgusting and embarassing…
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS EVERY SINGLE DAY!
NEVER FORGET!!!
history always repeats itself…
And this is Carter redux. Only worse… FAR worse. The damage already done exceeds what the Peanut did in four years. And Barry's still got over three left.
Perish the thought…
Clinton "loathed" the military, Obama perfers to ignore the military.
Obama may follow the precedent of the previous democrat president who 'loathed the military' and refused to send more materiel to Somalia because Clinton didn't want to appear militaristic, got a bunch of really good guys killed as a result, and then let SecDef Les Aspin take the fall for the debacle of Mogadishu.
So Obama has a precedent to follow, if and when he can find time in between all the meetings trying to get the Olympics for Chicago or Letterman appearances.
Gen. McChrystal better shop ebay for what he needs –Obama hasn't got time as CinC to sweat such petty stuff.
Well, he IS closer to Afghanistan in Denmark then he is here. Maybe the General can meet with him telepathically. After all BHO s The One an knows all. Mmm-Mmm-Mmm – Barack Hussein Obama.
Obama is shirking his duties as Commander In Chief — his ONLY constitutionally mandated responsibility.
This is pure dereliction of duty — an impeachable offense.
I went into moderation with the last comment so I'll try it again.
IF OBAMA THINKS HE CAN BRING ABOUT PEACE THROUGH PRETTY SPEECHES THEN GO TO THE FRONT LINES IN AFGHANISTAN AND GIVE IT A TRY.
I think calling the President naive is to nice. He is incompetent and completely inept.
Obama demonstrates such gross incompetence in foreign policy and executive authority of our armed forces in combat that it constitutes criminally depraved indifference to the safety of the public and the lives of our service members.
Impeach him now.
It's like watching Gen. Patton deal with a pro-Vietcong Berkeley lib. Blech.

and the only option you really have is to try to ignore them as best you can.
I can appreciate the efforts that athletes go through to become the best in the world. It's grueling self determination that most do not have, with a good dose of genetic aptitude and ability. It's entertaining to watch and cheer but it's like many other sports, it's entertainment with a good dose of national pride. The best of the best win an element known the world round. A Gold Medal for their dedication and ability to become the best in the world at a specific event.
That being said no gold medal Olympian will ever hold a candle to a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient or for that matter a purple heart recipient. This issue illustrates yet again how backwards Obama's priorities are or more specifically how dangerous as a President he is.

Oh yeah! It's time!
I'm not as concerned as some by his not talking to Gen. McChrystal, because I've heard a number of military men say that isn't as important as how seriously they're taking the chain of command. Unfortunately, we don't know how often the Gen is talking to his superiors, and how often (and accurately) they're expressing what they've found to the President. If he's not taking that seriously either, then it's a huge problem. As bad as it would be for us and the people of that region, if he's going to half-ass it, I'd rather bring our troops home than go through 2005 – 2006 again. You can't leave them out in a shooting gallery because you can't man up enough to make a decision.
Time to prove you have stones, Mr. President. If not, I suggest you review some of the commentary on the last President we had who was too afraid to pull the trigger (you know, the one who runs around telling everyone they're racists…). It didn't work out too well for us, or for his place in history. Voting present just doesn't work on this level.
so true. and yet, when even we " patriotic conservatives" in Hollywood have a chance to show our support by showing up to the GI FILM FEST in LA , so few turn out. I was very disappointed to see so few in attendance at probably the only place these directors will be able to show their films about our brave soldiers.
We know what Obama is about and can expect his behavior-he has no love for our country or our soldiers- no surprise. It is up to us to show our soldiers the support they deserve and those in the entertainment business had a chance to do so this weekend. How sad so few took the opportunity to do so.
"I, I, Me, Me, Mine"
Remember, I sure do remember. My father served in the U.S. Naval Submarine Force at the time. None of his friends, or collegues could believe that Jimmah had been one of them.
"Our president is more Paris Hilton than General Patton." NO NO WAIT He is more " Bono than Paris" was the DNC response to the McCain ad.
Okay let's skip the celebrity references. Let's just say Obama is more Grove Park Plaza than 1600 PA Ave.
And all apologies to Cindy Sheehan. I casted you as nothing more than a DNC tool and a wank. I WAS WRONG. And not ashamed to admit it. In fact I 'totally' admire you now. You were sincere. And anyone with that kind of conviction should be heralded. And I'm sorry for ever doubting your resolve.
And now Cindy it's time for you to reciprocate. And time for you to admit that those who were rubbing elbows with you when the 'Bush Lied and Kids Died' crowd paraded you around like a dog and pony show were nothing but a bunch of lost hippies and sub-funded elitists.
Imagine the dismay of the left when they discovered that she really meant it. I sometimes wonder what it takes to be such shallow and misguided sell-outs. The Slient Hungarian Sugar Daddy still loves you.
I didn't know that castration was a condition of becoming president. Why is it that the people who seem most egotistical that obtain the seat in the White House don't seem to have the bocces to do what is right for the young men and women wearing our uniforms?? Granted, Bush sent them in and didn't have a plan for getting them out but when the General in charge of theater says he needs more troops, you send them! You don't trollup over to Denmark to get your recess buddies an Olympic carnival, you make a decision, PROMPTLY!
you are right on here steven ! did you c 2day that his next urgent priority is lobbying 2get the olympics in chicago ??? what on earth is up w/that ??? the country is falling apart financially, our troops need help, an honor student was just murdered in chicago & he is trying 2get the olympics there … what on earth is wrong w/this picture ?????
actually, his source created the documents. he just did not investigate properly.
I would add that liberals (i.e. NOT ME) also "support" the troops because they believe that most/all of the troops are ignorant, poor minorities who were tricked into fighting "Bush's war".
At the end of the day, I hope he keeps his nose out of our wars,…………………………. and up hollywoods' ass.
Its really for the best.
He has less than 3 and half years left to destroy Our Great Country. Better he's conspiring with hollywood, than a bunch of third world hack dictators.
I've held the opinion for some time now that military service should be a pre-requisite to the office of Commander In Chief. If, when it was your turn, YOU DIDN"T SERVE, you have no moral right to command the troops and send them into harm's way.
Yeah, I know. This would require a constitutional amendment, and "Presidents X, Y and Z" never served. But I'm tired of looking at self-serving cowards in the White House who hold our military men and women in private contempt.
I will not vote for a man who opted out of military service, and I suggest the rest of you Vets at least think about that.
His pretty sharp suit is transparent…………………………….and his nakedness is apparent for all to see.
Word on the street…………..they were going to cut his head off, shove it down the barrel of a cannon, and fire it at Les Moonves house.
Or he's playing pick-up basketball with his home slices.
I'm in.
You will never hear those words pass his mouth………………"God Bless Our Military and God Bless America"
What do you mean "opted out" of military service–military service isn't mandatory. What contempt? This makes no sense…
I agree that he's on TV a lot, but he's not talking about himself as is indicated by so many here. Also, he hasn't said he's not sending troops–what's all the freakout about? Someone told me this was a reasonable conservative blog–so far, I see no evidence of that. Good grief everyone, settle down.
Reasonable or not, what you'll find here is basically a lot of unbridled contempt for Obama and everything he stands for. If you aren't prepared to deal with that, save yourself some pain and find someplace else to hang out.
My four year old nephew does the same thing…only he's, ya know, FOUR!
It says enough to point out that the Hollywood establishment has been far more vocal and active in "supporting" Roman Polanski than in supporting our troops. But hey, our soldiers don't give Iraqi children 'Luudes before raping them, do they?
He doesn't care about the military because he doesn't care about America. He's not an American. And I'm not talking about where he was born. I'm talking about his attitude. He doesn't have the "stand for freedom and pull yourself up by your bootstraps" heart that most Americans have. He's dangerous and he's going to get us all killed.
All you need to see is the disdain with which OB "salutes" as he leaves Marine One.
It has contempt written all over it.
The POS.

As Old Tom said you may have come to the wrong place.
People here, by in large, are independent thinkers. We take in as much information as is available, look at it from all sides, digest it, compare it to history and make our individual decisions- as to what it truly means. We then put it here for debate and see if it stands the test.
Just not into 'group think'! If a group happens to agree on an issue here it has more of a chance of being the correct conclusion, this is because the consent is from thought not knee jerk.
If you wish to stretch and grow by looking at things from a different perspective, then Welcome. If you just want to denigrate and snipe- well you will most likely wind up being ignored, after a few attempts to help you into thinking for yourself.
Your Choice.
For Obama to have the title of Commander in Chief is an insult to the armed forces and our military and ultimately our nation as a whole. someone take away his homework then give him a mirror, a camera and a teleprompter for cryin' out loud!
a GOOD president does not put his own publicized importance before the aknowledgement of his own commanding General. i could care less if Hollywood was wiped off of the face of the earth, infact that would be frickin awesome!
The point is, OBAMA NEEDS TO QUIT WORRYING ABOUT HIS HAIR (or in this case lack-there-of) WHILE THE COOKIES ARE BURNING AND THE KIDS NEED TO BE FED.
oh and go Steven

"" I agree that he's on TV a lot, but he's not talking about himself as is indicated by so many here."
**Go to any video of any speech and count the "I' , Me's", then count the "this Great Country's" "Our wonderful troops", "freedom loving Americans".
""he hasn't said he's not sending troops–what's all the freakout about""
**Thirty days ago the General on the ground asked for more troops. How many times in those 30 days has he spoken of' 'the need for more troops' to win this war. In the last 30 days, how many times has he 'spoken' to the General?
I will answer the last question for you, as of yesterday "None".
How many times has he spoken to the press? You answer that.
It is obvious by where and how he spends his time and efforts, where his priorities lie. Those priorities are not the priorities of the vast majority of American Citizens. Yes I did say Citizens, not residents. We are not so interested in hosting the Olympics, we are interested in Keeping America safe, getting our Jobs back, and retaining our Individual Freedom. We will see to our own Medical needs- Global warming (IMHO a farce) can wait till we are on our feet, and be Debated honestly.
You want us to be reasonable –the election in November was for the 'President of the United States of America'—Not for the' Placater of the Worlds Dictators'. When I see him- putting America first- I might start to settle down.
BigPop
You have the option of taking them down a peg. 'They' don't support 'Our Troops', we don't support 'Them'.
Hook your Big Screen TV up to your computer and watch amateur videos, heck some of the best stuff I have seen this year is on pjtv and of course James and Hannah.
I say, as for Me -he can't have Mine.
Well said!
U2Dave
I second that resolution.
Whatever happened to the words "God Bless Our Military and God Bless America? This President never says this ……..Why?

That's just his MO. If he doesn't like something, he just doesn't deal with it. He didn't like the ACORN scandal, so he just says it's not a big deal and he's not following it. He doesn't like the tea partiers, so he says he wasn't even aware of the protests. These two examples are just rude to your opponent. However, they're small beans compared to the lives and deaths of our soldiers. It surpasses rudeness into being reckless with lives that are your responsibility. BO, YOU CAN'T NOT DEAL WITH THIS.
Please don't lump all celebrities together. Remember that Bob Hope, one of our most famous celebrities, was also the greatest supporter of our troops. There are still many who offer their support although they don't get nearly as much attention as the haters on the left. Gary Sinise, Charlie Daniels, Martina McBride, Edwin McCain,
The Harlem Globetrotters just to name a few. They haven't let fame go to their heads.
OH MY GOSH Dan……
that is a very enlightening point, made me laugh and shake my head in utter amazement….
I noticed that day one. President Bush always referred to America will do this, or America won't do that, he rarely referred to himself in the first person.
I guess that's a pretty good definition of class.
War doesn't raise his poll numbers with the creatons on the far left. How ever, kissing Letterman's ass certainly does.
And considering his poll numbers and their direction (down), he needs to suck up to the left as much as possible.
Paying attention to Afghanistan will only hurt Obama's poll numbers. Just look what it did to Bush's poll numbers. (And I give the former President great respect for doing it despite the plunge in popularity. That's the difference between an empty suit and a real man.)
Getting the Olympics will please Oprah, probably get him on the show, chance to work on those poll numbers. Doing his job won't.
If you ever do some digging and find out what was going on in Iran at that time, its mind boggling.
When the students first grabbed the embassy staff, the government went nuts. They though for sure Tehran would be a pile of rubble within 48 hours. If Carter had done something at that point, not necessarily even military, but just shown some kind of back bone, the entire situation could have been resolved, and the Middle East wouldn't be nearly the nut case it is now.
After a couple of weeks, when it became apparent that Carter would do nothing, that's when this crazy ass, bat shit mentality took over. America was nothing more than a paper tiger.
John Voight, Toby Kieth, Charlie Daniels, Ted Nugent!
Yes, as hard as it is to believe, there are plenty of good ones out there too!
A big SALUTE to them all!
I don't think so at all. Remember to keep your eye on what he's doing. Implementing European style socialism in America.
Once that's done, all these little issues, like war, will become irrelevant.

Herr Teleprompter is the real life incarnation of Max Headroom. He was an invention of leftist marketing efforts and is fit for doing nothing but speechifying and trying to sell am image.
da da da da da da I, me, mine… George's ode to Paul's 'obsessiveness'. Nicely done…
yes- he wanted to believe Mary Mapes and that was his first deadly mistake. Her dad even said she hated Bush and wanted to 'get' him.
Her DAD…
"Opted out" means he chose not to participate. It has nothing whatever to do with whether or not something is mandatory. God, I'm getting tired of having to explain crap like that. If you don't understand what I've written, why do you feel compelled to comment on it?
As to the "contempt" charge, Obama is currently investing more time in campaigning for the Chicago Olympics than he is in meeting with his military chiefs of staff to plan a viable strategy for the troops in Afghanistan. He's spoken with General McChrystal ONCE in the last 70 days. If that isn't contempt, what is it?
And by the way, what was your branch of service?
We could'a had a Hero,instead we got a Zero.
Without a military to defend it, the rest of the world sees our Constitution as a worthless piece of paper.
"We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm"
So everyone who disagrees with the war automatically hates the military? I have many friends who've served in Iraq and some of them don't like what we're doing over there. Do they hate the troops too, Steve?
How do you "opt out" of something that you weren't in to begin with? If I go to a trade school after receiving my diploma, did I "opt out" of Harvard or NYU? Did I "opt out" of joining the Peace Corps or becoming a missionary? I know how you people love to deify the military, and thank God, because the country needs the pious lambs to keep the slaughterhouse in business.
"And by the way, what was your branch of service?"
Oh, poor feeble meek old me, I didn't serve. Does that mean I don't have the right to comment, or everything I say is jejune dribble and sophistry? Oh, poor old me. If only I were more noble, like my pissant buddies who graduated HS and had no prospects in life so they joined the Army. Oh maybe, maybe then I would have the credentials to understand and be understood. I chose to go to College, how cowardly and disrespectful and unintelligent of me. I choose to work a job and pay taxes that pay for soldier's food, clothing, and shelter. How sacrosanct, how disgustingly greedy. I shouldn't have even bought that up, it would be almost suggesting that I pay for the services that these brave men offer.
Are you "SiberianRat", or did I just push one of your buttons?
To answer your questions, if you had the option of going to Harvard or NYU but chose to enlist in the military instead, yes, you would have "opted out" of going to Harvard or NYU. I opted out of joining the Peace Corps or becoming a missionary. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
As to the rest of your post, you obviously understand exactly what I meant when I wrote "hold our military men and women in private contempt".
