by Steven CrowderRemember the day the healing took place? Remember the day a black man was elected to office by white Americans thereby proving that any established form of racism in this country was a thing of the past? Of course you do silly, and despite what they’ll tell you… so do Liberals.
I’ll be honest, I’ve never met a Racist Conservative in my life. I’ve heard that they’re out there and I’m sure that they exist, but much like a Great White Shark or a decent Joel Schumacher film… I’ve never seen one in real life.
The truth is that a vast majority of Americans are fully on board with a post-racial America. The only problem is that conservatives were the only ones to begin treating it as a reality. They continued standing for the same things that they always had (lower taxes, more power to the individual etc.), regardless of whomever was in office. The almost acted, dare I say it… Color blind.
Liberals, however, need ongoing racism to get votes. Racism MUST be alive for the Democratic party to succeed. After all, how can you promise people to fight an oppressive establishment if you’re the ones running it. Plus, it makes it harder to promise folks all of that awesome free stuff.
Realizing this, Democrats have decided to go on the extreme offensive. They’ve made the decision to create an atmosphere where any disagreement with the current president must undoubtedly contain some sort of “secret racial component.” Liberals don’t believe for a second that tea party protesters are a bunch of Robert Byrd-like Klansmen out there. No, the whole “race” card is a conscious/concerted effort to keep racism alive when it should have been put to rest a long time ago.
After Barack Obama was elected, Democrats knew that reconciliation was taking place, but decided to move things in the directly opposite direction of that. If one were to believe the little world that Democrats have painted to be true, one would have to assume that the United States today is as racist as it’s ever been. After all, when was the last time you saw tens of thousands of racists openly march through the streets of Washington?
Not only are there more racists today than ever before, but they’re not even ashamed! They’re out in the open putting their vitriolic hatred on display for all to see.
I say, that we embrace it. Embrace the “racism” argument. The truth is that the general American public knows that dissenters are not racists, and the fact that the accusation is being tossed around more flippantly than ever is laughable. To compare the actual establishment-based racism that black people faced decades ago to an old man’s corny Tea Party sign is so insensitive and so belittling that I can barely wrap my head around it. Which is exactly why I’m telling everybody out there to give the Democrats just a little more rope. Right now they think that they’re shtick is so cute that they’re unaware of the imminent political suicide they’ll be facing.
If protesting an unprecedented expansion of the Federal government is bigoted… Then slap me and call me a racist! Who’s with me?!

It's pretty obvious that the cry of 'racism' is really an attempt to rally the black base of the democratic party.
What's more disconcerting is the Bill Maher issue. Sitting around and thinking up racist jokes, and then getting away with telling them in public by pretending that they are the thoughts of the fictional 'racist' and you are the good guy attacking bigotry. It needs to be pointed out that Bill Maher sits around thinking up racist jokes and his audience laughs at them. period. they are openly racist.
If I'm a racist because I dislike Obama's policies, what does that make all those Democrats who vowed to never vote for Obama when he stole the nomination away from their beloved Hillary? They agreed with him on every issue, yet they STILL refused to support him. Sounds like racism to me.

Most everyday folks tolerated the past cries of racism because most everyone had heard at least one racist in their lives (if only on TV.) It reached the tipping point when libs went from the argument that racism exists to specific people being racists. When you've gone your entire life dealing with people based on their characters and then are unfairly characterized as racist for something as lame as disagreeing with someone, it becomes obvious that it's a deflecting piece of crud argument. The term loses all meaning when it's used by liars. Apparently the lib parents don't read "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" to their kids anymore.

LOL I am so sick of being called a racist that it no longer bothers me. I have a question though, Obama IS NOT BLACK-what part of that is people missing. He is half-white, was RAISED by white grandmother-it is NOT like he is really black. He wasn't raised in America-he can't relate to American blacks so it is silly for "blacks" to have any form of bonding with obama. Blacks need to realize they are Americans not "black Americans.
One of the complaints about integration of schools is that you would dumb down white kids by putting black kids in school together. I can see all the blacks huffing & puffing & getting indignant but before you do, think. If we followed along with someone even when they were acting against our best interest because of the color of their skin you would call us stupid. What is the difference? I have talked to blacks about why they support obama-my answer majority of the time-is something racial-he is black, he understands me-no he doesn't he doesn't think like an American-regardless of what color, he wants to help me-oh I really love getting that answer because they can't say how & have given very little thought to how extending welfare & abortion in the community actually helps them. By blindly following obama it proves the very worst stereotypes of racism.

I have to agree with you here. We know we are not racists. We disagree with Obama because of his policies. And we know how silly this all is.
But many people truly, sincerely think we are against Obama because of his race. They sincerely believe this. And I don't know how to dissuade them from thinking it. It seems whatever we say to such people, it makes no difference.
It sure is beginning to lose its sting isn't it? I don't even flinch when I hear cries of "racism" anymore because it's so out of left field and irrelevant. Jimmy Carter even got on TV today and tried to brand anyone who opposes Obama as a racist. Whatever. When the worst president ever calls you a racist, you know they've got nothing else to fall back on. But then, they never did.
In New Orleans, where I grew up, the left has destroyed at least three generations of black families. Black America must abandon the users and abusers. I have come to realize that ACORN and their ilk, have stalled the progress of African Americans, for about 40 years, and it is worse than a crime, it is reprehensible.

Ive got a Friend who hates obama and hates him beacuse he's black. He hates jews, Blacks, and Gays, but I don't think he would call himself a Liberal or a Conservative.
Of course, as Zo Puts it, Democrats have a Plantation mentality towards blacks and other minorities loyal to the party.
The Democratic party is a loose coalition between Leftists, California style Liberals, Blue Dog Moderates, and Minorities. That coalition, is as I said, Loose, and easily broken. The Culture War is turning, at least politically, in our Favor. We have a political Stake aimed right at the heart of the Democratic Party, and they are the ones pushing it deeper in.

I'll go even further and admit my racism publicly: the only thing I LIKE about Obama is the color of his skin. Everything else about him pretty much sucks, except maybe… he is sort of handsome. Projection, gentlemen. The closest thing that they have to a coherent argument against our political stance is that they personally don't like it (which, of course, is pathetic), so they assume that our opposition to them is just as shallow as their opposition to us.

Two pictures (whose veracity are somewhat in dispute but let us assume they are genuine for now). Two people. Out of two million. There are 600k+ people in the city where I live. There are many people *here* whom I have not *met*. Perhaps there were some real live genuine racists lurking among the 2 million people that Steven did not have the chance to meet.
Compare this however to the race baiting and racializing of politics and of political discourse done not by the odd wacko among 2 million but very publicly by the president, by some of his Cabinet, by some of his czars, by many in Congress, by many in the mainstream media. I swear that the most racist people I have met are the well-to-do, white Democrats. At our elite school, only the Republican families allow their kids to have children of other races over to their homes for playdates! I'm not kidding! My Liberal friends are terrified of the predominately African-American neighborhood I live in. In fact, some have insinuated that my neighbors are crack-smokers or dangerous gang bangers–even though most are elderly lawyers, doctors, bank presidents, judges and professors. But when my Liberal friends see dark skin, they see danger. If it wasn't so insulting, it might even be comical. The only friends that have not said rude things to my husband and I are the Republican and Libertarian friends we have. The rich white Liberals I know are secretly racist, not-secretly narcissistic (I think it's a badge of honor actually), materialistic, but most of all the biggest hypocrites I have ever met!

This has got to be the dumbest strategy ever. Make no mistake, that's all it is. But the fact remains that the majority of the country is against Obamacare and that means a fair number of Obama voters must fall into that group. Soooo, they voted for him but now they're racists? I was watching AC360 earlier. The new tactic is to pick out something seemingly innocuous on a (for example) teaparty protester's placard call it racist (no matter what) – sort of like how Maureen Dowd inserted a racist word into "you lie" – and then her word "boy" – and then call that innocent person out as a racist and then insist that the leader of the teaparty event (you know the group that got bomb threats) make that person apologize. I could not believe my eyes and ears.
Anyway, I have seen plenty of racists. Both sides of the aisle by the way. But you know who I see most and under what circumstance? Democrats – dyed in the woolers who refused to vote democrat for Obama. I know a lot of those. My husband gets ticked (they in his family) when I ask them why in all the years of bashing republicans and faithfully voting Dem every election since I have known them they were suddenly unable to vote last election. And then there are those who voted FOR Obama out of some sort of ancestral payback. What the?

Great article, the surest way to make anything irrelevant and disarm it totally is to confront it and make it a laughable subject. When they play that "53" card it is to change the subject. To me, the way to deal with being called a racist is this: Ask the person to point out where in your actions or statements the racism lies. Ask them to be specific.
They will not be able to answer the question. They will deflect, etc. If this is done enough times in front of other people, especially people who are on the fence, not usually involved, etc., believe me, it will start to sink in.
Reasonableness will win out in the end. B/c sane people cannot think insane thoughts for long without the danger of imploding and becoming insane themselves.

I think that was one of Steven's points and I agree. By repeatedly and completely misapplying and misusing the term "racist", the Left has removed its efficacy. It now carries the same weight as being called "fascist".
