Lonewolf Diaries: Barack Obama is “Not My President”
by Steven CrowderI know, I know. It’s cliche and trust me, I hated the punks/celebrities who wore those slogan t-shirts throughout the Bush administration as much as the rest of you. The day Obama was elected, like many of you I told myself “Well, I didn’t vote for him, but he’s my President and I’ll support him.” A few months later, times have changed and I feel the need to officially declare that Barack Obama is “Not My President.” If you disagree, feel free to smack me around a little. If you feel the same way put your John Hancock down below and make your voice heard.
Seeing as the “Green Day Liberals/American Idiots” started the whole “Bush is not my President” schtick and their new album is dropping this week, I couldn’t think of a more appropriate time to issue a retort. Granted, the men of Green Day have had to overcome a lot to attain the success they enjoy today. It’s not every day that a group of legally-declared midgets can produce platinum-selling albums. Folks, I can give credit where credit is due. Rather than accept this success on behalf of the “little people” however, Green Day (along with other generic punk bands) had to start the “not my President” crusade against their commander in chief during a time of war. Punk bands even collectively put out the “Rock Against Bush” album which was eyebrow-raisingly sympathetic towards our enemies. Some would call it treason, I call it “a-bunch-of-uneducated-toolbags-playing-power-chords-in-an-attempt-to-brainwash-the-youth-of-America.”
Considering that “fascism” was the justification for the punk-rock community’s public hatred of the former-president, one has to imagine how they feel today. Their own liberal buddies are in charge of everything from the White House, Congress and Senate to the mainstream media. Combine that with the biggest government takeover of private companies that we’ve ever seen (along with the biggest spending increase, of course), and I’m starting to think that maybe a “Rock Against Obama” album might hold a little more water. I wouldn’t expect to see that from Green Day however, for one reason only; These people are idiots. I’m talking borderline Biden-esque in their level of stupidity.
Folks, I support Barack Obama “the President,” really I do. Whether I voted for him or not, he was elected as our Commander in Chief. When one looks at the actual DUTIES of a president however (which is in short; To preserve and protect the Constitution), anyone with a brain (barring some kind of Sean Penn-type learning disability) can see that Obama has gone far beyond the parameters of his calling.
When Barack Obama tries to continually weasel his ever-expanding government into the private sector or does something like try to sneak the biggest backdoor tax in history into the books, he ceases to be “Presidential.” When Barack Obama acts with complete disregard for the Constitution (and American principles) he is no longer Barack Obama the president, he becomes Barack Obama… “the man.” I would even go as far as to say a very bad one. Yes Napolitano, you heard correctly. Come and get me toots.
Let’s say for a second, that you hired a plumber to fix your sink, only to come home and find that he’d decided to dry-clean your clothes… And did a terrible job of it. Naturally you’d be upset and “unsupportive” of his douchebaggery. You didn’t HIRE him as a dry-cleaner, so why would you have to pay him as such or even commend his work? In the same breath, why do I need to support Barack Obama with his company takeovers and creepily intruding government?
On Presidential issues such as national security, the preservation of life etc., I’ll support Barack Obama with all of my heart.
As for all of his other shenanigans… Well, I think it’s time to “Rock Against Obama.”

Anyone with open eyes can see that Obama is trashing the US. His budgets are projected to produce an 18 trillion dollar debt. He's Impeachment Bait if you ask me.
He is not my President either! first time in my 37 years I say this about a President. I have no respect for him and I cannot support his radical policies and his background. I don't trust him! and this has nothing to do with the color of his skin! I voted for Clinton first time, second time I didn't because of the "bring back family values" policy, you can't bring back family values when you yourself as a leader have none. Now onto Green Day. Green Day are the biggest phony posers around. I'm from the Bay Area and I've seen then go from being unknown artists to the wannabe political idiots of today. The funny thing is, those idiots were NEVER political, EVER. ALL of their horrible pop wannabe punk albums were about NOTHING. Just pop garbage. They were never considered real punk. Then they blow up all over MTV and all of a sudden, all these albums later, NOW they're jawing about politics? These IGNORANT RICH White kids know NOTHING. They're just being sheeple and pandering to their sheeple fans 'cause it's "cool" to be anti-conservative in the media. What's even funnier is they're ALL CAPITALIST business owners! Im with you……Obama has already disrespected this country in ways the drooling masses could never understand. He has sold the soul of this country for political power and destroyed more than a few giant chunks of our economic foundation. He makes no sense when he speaks and makes all mistakes when he acts. The more well read and educated about economics and history you are……the more you realize Obama isnt. Why else would someone do the exact opposite of every logical thing possible?

Remember that scene in Airplane where the Russian reporter read copy with a pistol to his head? That's our news media … with the added complication that there is no gun. They're lying, cheating, and stealing with open, dewy eyes for this President.
The average person believes what they hear (I'm not a left-winger so I don't support the "everyone but me is so stupid" line, but universal repetition of a lie will make it seem true). So when every mainstream outlet is telling us every day that this man is Jesus reincarnated, I doubt this day of reckoning will ever come.
Today alone the AP was celebrating the new auto-emission standards, saying that it was "Obama's natural character" to bring a bunch of warring people together to finally agree on a standard. Of course we all know he did this by threatening the automakers with bankruptcy/union ownership, firing CEO's who disagree with him, and using the TARP funds as leverage against states. Does the average person know this? Does the average person reading that summation come away with "oh this was a bunch of skullduggery and trickery, not even in the name of something useful"; or do they come away thinking, again, what an awesome cool intelligent unifier of a President we have?
As long as he has the media in his pocket he will be untouchable.

Yes, living in Wasilla but getting ready to move to PA where I am from. Have been in Wasilla for 11 years and have loved every minute of it but it's time to move on. Gov. Palin is a very wonderful and smart woman. She does not care what people say or think. She does what she needs to do for the people. I don't agree with all of her policy but it's not enough for me to not support her. There are several groups that are dedicated to Gov. Palin and 2012. She is making people kick themselves, they will never wear her down or destroy her, she is too tough and too real for that!

That perfectly encapsulates my feelings on this. Why the heck should we be nicer to him than they were to Bush? As a conservative, I had issues with Bush, but nothing he did justified the kind of hatered and disdain they poured on him on all issues at all times. And now I'm supposed to put all that aside, and show respect for a guy who really is a tyrant — a guy who is everything they claimed Bush was? Forget that.

Thank you so much for saying this! I am sick and tired of my fellow non-Obama voters saying that we must not become like the Bush derangement crowd. The BDS crowd 1) HATED Pres. Bush on a personal level, thinking nothing of saying things like they wish he'd die, 2) they hated him on the basis of lies!
Those of us who refuse to support Obama's ideas do not hate him personally. We don't wish harm to come to him. And our case is not based upon fabrications, but rather on what he has said and done and continues to say and do. In other words, it's based in fact. We despise his policies and what he's doing to this country, and it's high time we SAID that and stopped cowarding in the corner because we don't want to be compared to the BDS crowd of years past.

Think in all these foreign records, you will find a man either ineligible to be President solely because he did not have 2 American citizen parents – his father was born in Kenya or worse – that he was indeed born in Kenya and was enrolled and received student aid as a foreign student all through his school years!

I accept that Obama won the election, and is therefore POTUS. I do not question his legitimacy. I do question, indeed disdain, his judgement as POTUS. I do not want him to fail, but his policies are doomed to fail, which is bad for the US.
Should the Dear Leader establish policies that will help this country, I would of course support him. That is not going to happen, so I want to see his policies stymied for the good of the country.

Asking Green Day style-Obama supporters to use reason on issues like Obama's prosecution of the war in Iraq is pointless.
For most of the twenty-something "Hope and Change/Bush Was Not My President" types, supporting the Dear Leader was not about policy. It was about voting for the man, his pretty speeches, and all the ultimately empty symbolism around him. Obama's actions in office are to be un-critically accepted because it is the Dear Leader making them.

True story: After the coronation in January, I told a liberal friend, "I think Obama deserves the exact same respect from us that you guys showed Bush for eight years." We didn't put up much of a fight with McCain. They went after Palin as though she was the Presidential candidate and I would have been happy swapping the two. She has more experience than our sitting president. But then again, so does my dogcatcher. And she doesn't think of her opponent as "My friend".
November 4, 2009 was the worst day in my life. And every day since then has sadly proven me right why I broke down and cried for my country that day. This man is NOT my president! Sign me up!

Well, duh. However, as another commentator also pointed out, unless you're in the military, you don't have a commander in chief. Or any other kind of commander — freedom, remember? Being an American isn't about following leaders, after all. Frankly, my own idea of the best possible America is a country where it doesn't matter who is in the White House. To a free people, it should be a matter of indifference. The fact that it matters so much now seems to be a telling barometer of how little freedom we now exercise as opposed to how much power leaders now exercise over us, and I don't believe that all started five months ago.
Not only is he not my president, he's not anyone else's president either. He's ineligible to be president.

I have remarked on this a couple of times. About this time last year all you could see were cars literally held together with bumper stickers reading "He's Not My President" and "Question Authority!" and "All that is Necessary for Evil to Prevail is for Good Men to do Nothing." and "You Must Speak Truth to Power." (We won't even talk about the "Torture is Not A Family Value" trope.) Everyone sporting these sentiments undoubtedly saw themselves as in-your-face-and-fight-the-power social revolutionaries who would never surrender their individuality to the dark forces of "government." Boy what a difference eight months makes. These same people are now lining up to emulate Boxer the Horse from "Animal Farm" with the repeated mantra that "Obama is Always Right." Interesting question – Is the Left more dangerous when in the throes of acid-spitting rage or when in the ecstacies of unconditional love? By the way – Who is Green Day anyway?

I swore if he got elected I was taking my flag down. However, friends and family told me that was wrong because I need to support my country and our troops. They also said to not let this no good bastard let me loose my faith in my country, so I kept it up. I still do not support him and I never will there is nothing this guy could do. I'm with you Steven……to see our country being bought and sold without honor makes me feel deeply sick. So many honorable men and women worked so hard to teach and live the ethics of our forefathers….. O. has destroyed our country in a matter of months……I am not sure it can be undone. But I'm willing to fight to get it back, through writing and sharing and keeping the debate of right and wrong alive.
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Let's face it, "None of the above" was the unofficial winner, 62-63% of eligible voters cast votes, thus more than a third didn't bother which trumps either candidate's count.

That will be easy. You have standards/limits on what you will do. There are a lot of things you can say against Obama that will not reach the level of utter hatred used against Bush. So you probably will be "nicer" to Obama, not because of anything Obama deserves, but because of how you are when dealing with politicians you dislike.

I was not fan of Bush but there is a very clear difference in how the press conduct themselves at these news conferences. It is as if they are doing the president's biding which goes directly against journalistic standards, but I guess there are no standards anymore…….sad when you cant count on the press for a unbiased report of what is happening in DC anymore.

In the months and years after 9/11, the Bush Adminsitration used military symbolism (Bush landing a plane on an aircraft carrier) and the "War on Terror" to reinforce his image as a "war president," commander-in-chief, who could not be questioned. Dissenters were shouted down with cries of "treason!" and asked why they hated their country so much. And of course conservatives nearly worship at the idol of Reagan, whose real presidency was more mixed than most will admit.
I'll be the first to admit that the most successful U.S. governments (in terms of good for the country as opposed to agenda successes) are when the checks and balances between the three branches of government are well-balanced.

While I can't go as far as MO did (when she said she's proud of her country for the first time in her adult life) and say for the first time in my adult life I am not proud of my country, I will state that I am not proud of my president and what he has done.
Every time I see an Obama bumper sticker on a vehicle I want to go up to that person and yell at them for their part in tearing apart this country. My guess is most of them had no clue what they were voting for, other than race or "change", and even then they couldn't tell you what change Obama stood for.

People take heart, I know this are discouraging times but compare this period to a movie with Obama as the "villain" who will eventually be defeated. I just hope that somebody points out to the public at large how wrong Powell is. He got significant amounts of press two weeks ago with his statement that the Republicans need to "moderate". In particular, he made the statement that we need to "recognize" that the American public wants higher taxes so that we can get more services. This California vote proves that entirely wrong.

As many have said before me, I'll show the same support for O as the libs did for my presidents (Bush, Bush, Reagan, etc.). My conscience, however, prohibits me from supporting the policies of any president that contradict my Christian morals (abortion, gay marriage, etc.) and my good sense prohibits me from supporting policies that are idiotic (bail-outs, higher taxes, etc.). I'm still proud to be an American and will continue to fly the flag if for no other reason than to show my support for our military.
