In light of the recent “Honor Killing” on our own soil (and the complete lack of media attention), the religion of Islam needs a healthy dose of criticism. Sure, I could have made a video about Christianity or Buddhism (only to receive a handful of respectfully scolding letters)… But what’s the fun in that?!

Time for our society to tell people that we are going to have a standard of behavior and if your can’t tolerate this or can’t live by it, then you need to go elsewhere.
I would be in favor of “No killing of the spouses” being one of the standards we all agree to live by. You want to kill your spouses, then go somewhere where doing so is seen as OK. Just don’t live here.
Rule two would be: “No blowing people up”. Rule three would be: “If someone is making a joke about you, then let it go.”

The Qu'ran is nearly impossible to read without using the Hadith. In addition, the Hadith are far more explicit regarding taqqiya and jihad meaning physical war against infidels.

I understand the real reason why Crowder needs to fear. The liberals, who have a habit of being offended vicariously, will kill him to show the Al Qaeda types that the left feels their mission. A leftist sacrifice of Crowder would be a great way for liberals to open a dialogue with those AQ folks. To show them we are all one. Crowder's death is simply a peace effort to stave off unnecessary violence.

Yes, Simon from UK, slavery existed here for hundreds of years here when it was British Colony, it was so engrained into the British Colonies it took almost 78 years and the blood of hundreds of thousands of people in a war to finally wash it away. Meanwhile the British empire kept on moving on to other continents expanding its "Empire". You should be proud.

Not when you read the Hadith. And it's a little hard to take marrying a 6 year-old (and consummating the marriage when she was 9) out of context. To this day, various Muslim "holy men" announce that it is ok for girls to get married at 9 (and going so far as to say it *hurts* them if we don't allow it).
Simply put, Islam is the only major world religion that, in its textual foundation and history, calls for the forced conversion, forced subjugation (and subsequent virtual enslavement) or elimination of all non-believers. That does NOT mean that we should "fear all Muslims" or "deport them all" or anything like that. In fact, I truly feel sorry for many Muslims who don't want to follow those dictates. They are caught in a bit of a crunch – if Mohammed is the perfect man, and to be emulated in all things, and if his words come directly from Allah, then how can you "excise" those portions of the Muslim faith that you don't like without announcing, basically, that Mohammed was NOT perfect and the words NOT directly from God?

Thank you for making the comparison at each religion's respective roots. Christianity is too often vilified because of historical acts of aggression or by modern extremists. But at its ROOTS, viz., Jesus Christ, it promotes nothing but peace.
Mankind, as they are wont to do in any religion or government, have only perverted and exploited a message of peace for their own personal or institutional gain. Muhammed, on the other hand, did advocate eliminating the existence of another. I would guess this is because he had to manage a government as well as a religion… Hmmm…
I know there are many peace-loving Muslims out there (I know, having seen many of them in Iraq), but the comparison you make is apropos. I hope you don't receive too many threats as a result of this.
Some might contend otherwise regarding the "achievements" of the UK. After all, it only took the US 78 years to get rid of slavery after it became its own nation. How many centuries in the UK? Or the UK's anti-Semitism in its handling of the Palestinian mandate after WWI – not exactly a stellar record of "tolerance." HOWEVER: I would say that neither country has any right to point at the other as less or make any claim to superiority on this issue. Both have had, and still have, their own issues (though now it has more to do with leftist identity politics and the inherent racism of said views than overt racial hatred based on feelings of biological superiority).

Because of good health care, technology, farming, and preservation of our incredible natural resources, today Lakota hunt buffalo on the great Plains and Inuit harpoon whales in Alaska. Mr. Crowder: At one time I got curious as to what the Koran (or however the heck you spell it) has to say in relation to what the Bible says. This curiosity stemmed from my husband's repeated forays into that part of the world while in the Air Force, AND a possible transfer there as a family for a two year hitch. I , as a woman, wanted to know what I was in for. I got as far as the creation story (man ascended from blood clots) and that was just about it. My husband was briefed on the cultural/religious aspects of being in the Kingdom and brought that info. home to me. At that time I screamed, "CAN'T WE GO TO ICELAND INSTEAD????" ….we went to Tokyo…..PHEW! Since that time, ignorance not really being bliss, I have done some reading on the subject, especially books by those who are former Muslims or have lived under tyranny by Muslims. Madness! I've lived in Austin for 12 years. Absolutely incredible city– Except for the crazies. 85% of my friends are self-described liberals, or "moderates" who always take liberal positions. But some of those are closet conservatives who find themselves agreeing with me on a lot of things, but can't allow themselves to be classified as anything other than a liberal Democrat. Then it's easy to make excuses and rationalize about ones countries missteps and outright crimes. Slavery, whatever. The only thing unique about America and slavery was the way we ended it. We were the only nation that fought a war to end it. Everywhere else either came to the slow and painful realization that it was wrong on their own, were forced to it by the slow and inexorable grind of the British Empire, or they still practice it today – Islam anyone?
The biggest problem with Islam as it is often taught is that Islam has long considered itself a settled religion meaning that is not open to interpretation. Christians may ask themselves WWJD, but for Muslims, they say and live WDMD or What DID Mohammad do because he is the epitome of perfection is all things.

I want to echo the kudos to Steven on this one. This took guts.
Speaking of guts and Islam, I took a course on Islam as part of my religion minor in college. In discussing Muhammed's marriages one morning he went on to criticize him for being a pedophile, among other things. The thing that made this discussion particularly interesting was the directly seated behind me were two gentlemen from Qatar. Not forgetting the demographics of his audience, the professor concluded his rant with, "And I'm sure tomorrow you'll find my scimitar-slashed body from where our friends from Qatar got ahold of me!"
I wouldn't have went nearly that far, but my respect grew for my professor. That took a lot of gall.
