Burnt Offering: The Broken Common Bond
by Robert DaviDear Friends — Take a few moments and look at this video. The gentleman is Dr. Bob Basso, a friend of mine, and he is Thomas Paine. His first videos, which ran over a year ago, took on viral proportions. His “voice in the wilderness” is responsible for the Tea Party movement across the country and has inspired talk show hosts and millions of Americans, no matter their political affiliation. This is his latest. Please share it with all your friends.

Bob Basso is an amazing man. This is the kind of man who should be teaching kids. This is the kind of commonsense that is needed to be heard by one and all. Including those people who are afraid to hear. THey know its the truth. Simple and glorious truth.
…is this even having an effect?
The Left has the whole news media. We have…Pajamas Media, Andrew Breitbart, a handful of bloggers, and Fox News.
Except for Fox News, it's not a lot.
While speaking up is definitely better than shutting up, we can't change the culture with a bunch of speeches. We need real art.
Not preachy eat-your-vegetables sunday-school crap. Not even leftists succeeded with that. Art is not talk radio.
Get those keyboards going.
We can take back America because like Mr. Basso said "We are the silent majority".
If we are silent no more, we will certainly have an effect on this country. Just look at the 9-12 March on DC. That was definitely an impact.
I am inspired by this man!
Thanks, Robert. Dr. Bob Basso is a genius……And I hope the hell there are more actors like you in Hollywood than we've been led to believe.
Good job on acting (from some one not in the business), I was impressed.
But to paraphrase the movie My Cousin Vinnie, it's dead on balls accurate.
The main point I'd like to highlight is he's right, people on the right are debating the wrong arguments, because you are letting those on the left, set the rules for the debate. And that has got to stop if you want to make any progress against the left.
Here's an example of how the left does it, trust me, I know, I came out of that swamp. I know how this game is played, because I perfected it to an art form. Here's a simplified example of a debate from some one on the left "L" and some one from the right "R".
L: Let's begin by setting the rules for this debate. First off, all problems in the world today were caused by European, white males, we can all agree on that.
R: No, wait I don't agree, that's not……
L: So you can't even agree on the simple premise that every one already agrees is true?
R: Who agrees with….
L: So I'm debating some one who can't even agree with the well known truth? What a looser this guy is.
R: I'm not a loser, and we haven't agreed on…..
L: This guy is nothing but a moron racist. Does every one see what I have to go through just try have an honest debate? I bet he's a sexist too!
This has to change. No progress will be made while people on the right keep falling for this. The left really isn't that complicated, they're a one trick pony.
They have largest megaphones, but they are not the majority. However, they are pretty good at convincing the majority, that they are the majority, which is why they so desperately need the MSM, that is their megaphone.
Now That is a video that should be required viewing by all school children and not the drivel that passes for science with Al Gores trip down fantasy land.
The old studio system had its faults, but back then, the heads were proudly and vociferously pro-America !
Oh sure, there were always a few movies like "OUR DAILY BREAD" and others, which were very SOCIALIST /MARXIST in tone, but they were the outliers.
Then, in the 1960s more and more anti-American/subversive movies began polluting movie theratres, until now, there's almost NOTHING worth seeing………………………ever.
Likewise, early T.V. had shows such as "I LED THREE LIVES" ( starring Ralph Bellamy ), which was anti-Commie, which even small children understood and enjoyed.
Now? You all know what a dearth of watchable, pro-America shows there are………..even on cable.
Dr. Basso's videos are always a joy to watch and should be required viewing, by ALL !
wonderful, wonderful. I am American, and I am fighting the good fight.
Powerful indeed! I’ll meet you in Washington with pitchforks and torches.
The Manhattan [KS] Tea Party and the K-State College Republicans hosted an appearance by "Thomas Payne" just this past August, and I had the *personal* privilege of meeting him at KC Int'l airport for his arrival, and the 2-hour return trip was one of those special events in my life that I will never forget… While it's true that Bob Basso adopts the *persona* of Thomas Payne for his appearances, the words he speaks are no mere script, his performance is *NOT* "just an act". There is no one more deeply sincere in their patriotic belief that America is God's greatest gift to LIfe, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness in the history of the world, and not enough of us who can equal his single-handed commitment to furthering the Legacy of our Founders to the benefit of posterity.
I encourage everyone not only to share the link to Thomas Payne's videos, but also to have your local Tea Party groups reach out to schedule an appearance at the soonest opportunity possible… if *we* can do it here in small-town Kansas, *you* can do it, too! His only fee is a nominal contribution to charity, plus his travel & lodging expenses… altogether, it would still be cheap at twice the price! As good as his videos are, in person he is electrifying!!
We all have much to do between now and the mid-term elections next year… an appearance in your town by "Thomas Payne" is an enormous boost to all our efforts… An e-mail to Andrew B should suffice to "make the connection" for you… book early and beat the holidays!!

I don't even have Fox News. I just don't really like all that much on TV and cable is sooooo expensive when I really only want that one channel. Sure wish I could get it online.
Just wonderful! It makes me wish I were still teaching…. I'd use it in every class. Thank you for posting it.
Don't worry, Mr. Paine. If it has to come to blood, it will.

Great stuff. A great answer to the often asked question, 'what would our forefathers say?'
Well, here Mr. Basso provides the answer.
Nice job and huge applause for you Robert, all involved and especially for Mr. Basso's fine virtuoso performance. Reminds me of seeing 1776 on school trip back in the 70s.

Gore might be wrong, but I urge every Conservative (as in Conservation) to try to use less energy and pollute less. Cause, you know, what's the down side?
There's no down side to that. So long as control of conservation remains in the hands of the people at a local level and is not dictated from some whackadoo on a Federal Payroll.
Thanks for the post, Robert. Powerful, simple message.
No worries with conservation. I conserve by choice as does anyone who respects God's creation and/or wants to best use the fruits of their labor. I part ways with the vast cadre of nattering nabobs of the nanny state who've made it their business -through deceit and grand plays upon our natural concerns for our environment- to ramrod liberty killing legal vehicles who's destination is ultimate control of the means of production. The 'environmental movement' has become synonymous with 'Statist would-be tyrant'.
The historic track record of the collectivist ideal the enviro-fascists are driving us toward is so replete with examples of collectivist failure with regard to the environment – not to mention social organization and the concept of human mercy – as to be a main predictor of the certainty for failure…All the while it has been, and is, our individual prosperity that allows us the luxury of caring about conservation.
The disconnect between their rhetoric and reality is such that I've got to take the environ-mentalists at their word when they say that humans are the problem. I take them at their word and follow those words to their logical conclusions which always lead to tyranny and degradation of man and beast alike. YMMV
Should be manditory viewing by every high school and college student in America. Bravo, Dr. Basso! Thank you!
Oh, by every member of Congress too!
GOD BLESS YOU, Dr. Bob Basso.
BRAVO!
Special thanks to you, Mr, Davi.
The Dr. Bob videos are cool but I saw one of his videos a good while back where, I believe, he said we should do away with the electoral college. I'm in favor of preserving the Constitution as it was written. That means enforcing its original intent. Was this a Payne position? Did I miss something? I don't want a direct democracy where NY and CA select our Presidents.
AlGore is a retard. I use less energy already because it's too expensive and it's going to get worse. Nuclear is the answer.
I don't know if we have much time left guys, not if this is true.

You know, I hear this argument very frequently. There are the far-left wackos who won't even admit AGW is just a theory – the ones who, every time one of their pillars is debunked, just hops to the next – but there are also the middle-of-the-road folks who don't go for the environmental extremism. But when I talk to people from that group, a dismaying number of them end up saying something like "Well, even if it isn't true, at least it leads to something positive", e.g. greater conservation and environmental awareness.
But that type of sentence is nothing but a blatant label for end-justifies-the-means rationalization, otherwise known as the logical fallacy of Pious Fraud (or perhaps in this case, Prius Fraud). Arguing with a recognized logical fallacy is generally a bad thing. At the very least, it should be embarrassing.
Frankly I'm not even sure how true the statement is: you have to offset environmental good with the bad done by these hysterics – things like the banning of DDT and the resultant continuance of malaria, or when environmental hysteria drives industry away from a poor town, or environmental idiocy like putting out wildfires leads to cataclysmic burns, or when 'controlling' a wildlife population leads to its virtual extinction, et cetera.
And most of the legwork for the reduce/reuse/recycle society was done well before AGW became hip. Wasn't Captain Planet back in the 80's?
Ironically, the environmental hysteric movement is oddly reminiscent of the Civil Rights movement. There was a problem, and people acted to fix it. And AFTER it was fixed a bunch of radical lunatics made it their cause, essentially using guilt over previous inaction to force people to bend to their will. It's just a coattail scam that allows con men (and women) to thrive.

Frankly I'm not even sure how true the statement is: you have to offset environmental good with the bad done by these hysterics – things like the banning of DDT and the resultant resurgence of malaria, or when environmental hysteria drives industry away from a poor town, or environmental idiocy like putting out wildfires leads to cataclysmic burns, or when 'controlling' a wildlife population leads to its virtual extinction, et cetera. You also have to consider the very frequent occurrence of environmental hysteria being used as a front for some other type of activism, such as anti-capitalism and anti-Americanism.
And in reality most of the legwork for the reduce/reuse/recycle society was done well before AGW became hip. Wasn't Captain Planet back in the 80's? There have been recycling bins around since I was in junior high school. Teachers are pretty much all hippies, and I remember having teachers who made sure knew about or did something for Earth Day. And most of the 'environmental' advances we have today are just the natural products of human ingenuity. Environmentalists are mostly misanthropes and pessimists, so they tend to forget about that.
You should have advertised, put up posters! I had no idea some one like this was in town!
We the GOP are the party of the Abolitionist. It is our principles and not theirs that started the emancipation of the black man from slavery. It was a nation controlled by our party that fought the Civil War to end Slavery and mind you the first President we elected is the one to have addressed that issue. The Democratic Party is the party of statism and of slavery of control. They are the party of Unions that deny workers the freedom to work, they are the party of welfare slavery that gives the destitute crumbs and then has the government investigate and punish them if they ever save money. We the Republican Party were the ones that voted in the Civil Rights Act of '64. When the white southerner Strom Thurmond who filibustered the act of '57 to start Civil rights when he was a democrat changed to the Republican Party he voted for the Civil Rights act of '64. His KKK compatriot Robert Byrd filibusters the act of '64. We remain the Party of Lincoln and it is a fact that we should shove down the throats of men like Barack Obama who support men like Al Sharpton that speak up for welfare slavery.
Just excellent! What a patriot! When some people do not get their way and/or can not back up their positions, they resort to childish name calling, usually involving race.
Historically, one of the most effective tools they have used is to label a person, group, or entity "racist." Apparently, that strikes fear in many American hearts, as that is what I have read over and over again. Maybe it is related to my age, but I was brought up in the time period where bigotry was out of fashion. Therefore, cries of "racism" have never had that effect on me or the people with whom I associate. We have always been "color blind," preferring to judge an individual on his/her character and actions.
I do think, however, that the continued use of the "race card," no matter the ethnicity, is beginning to have the opposite effect. People who had never thought a racist thought are beginning to have them. Therefore, it is my suggestion, that when someone uses the "race card," in the future, simply say these words, "That doesn't work anymore. What's your next argument?" And keep on saying that…
Great post. This guy has a gift for telling it like it is.
Thank you for posting Mr. Davi. God bless you and Mr. Basso both.
How sexy (excuse me…independent minded) are women who think like Monica Dickey?
I think Basso is a hero. How the White House managed to sweep him under the carpet was reported as well as Crash Davis' record breaking hit. I loathe to reference a Saradon flick but the point sticks. Irony sucks Susan doesn't it? BTW. Barbra is awfully MIA lately too. Hmmm. That Israel thingy is kinda tricky isn't it Babs?
The Acidic Ballerina (read Chief of Staff) may have kicked Basso out of the spotlight but his SOUL will never be defeated Rahm. No matter how much dirt you try to throw on us Rahm we are ready for your hits. And twice as hard? I wouldn't call the DailyKos kiddies in your network because the really really skinny thing might sound good on paper but you know what they say about paper tigers.
Kudos again Mr. Davi.
Mark Twain knew it . We know it. A man's soul is judged by how they treat an animal. Your soul is intact.
O-o-kay, try *this*: On Tue Oct 19 at 7pm in the K-State Union Little Theater, the KSU College Republicans are hosting DOUG GILES (pastor, author, columnist, big-game hunter, ClashRadio host, and father of HANNAH GILES of those ACORN undercover videos!) with a Q & A to follow… see you there!!
)
Jesus Christ, you Americans are nuts! Jeeesus Christ, you are in your own psycho world playing cowboys vs indians!
If you had, your career may have been ended by cries of RACISM. The Chicago crowd will not tolerate the opinions of common citizens.
Orwell was a prophet!
Having moved here from the Llano Estecado to the east coast, one thing has become obvious: small time politicos who use the race card are usually hours away from indictment or conviction. It is pretty much an admission of guilt.
While Dr. Basso's first video was indeed spot on, he followed it up with a second video, reading a letter at the end from a Marine claiming that the Marine had lost 7 of his 8 man squad (or some number), and "he is so worried" about this country.
This was unfortunate, because up until this point he had been spot on, but looking at the casualty figures at the time, particularly for Marines, it definitely appeared that Dr. Basso had been fooled into believing a lie.
I hope that if he has not done so already, he addresses this issue as this slip in accuracy does great harm to the power behind the message, which I believe to be accurate.
