Authentically Gish, Garbo, Tiger, Obama, and Uh-Huh, Palin
by Robert J. Avrech![]()
Lilian Gish, Broken Blossoms, 1919, a genuine Hollywood star.
Americans admire excellence and authenticity.
The rise of the Hollywood movie star was built on powerful performances that projected the idea of authentic emotions. Film audiences experienced a magical connection—often, deeply intimate—with scores of charismatic actors.
Lillian Gish’s heartbreaking performance as the abused daughter in Broken Blossoms (1919) cemented the image of a sensitive and vulnerable child/woman. It did not matter that Gish was, in fact, rigid and hard-headed. The huge shadows on the silver screen settled the matter in the public’s mind.
Garbo’s close-ups—she was gawky in long shot and her best director, Clarence Brown, kept her in tight shots a majority of the time—convey a world of passion and emotional depth. In truth, Garbo was a shallow narcissistic who loved herself above all others.
Carson’s Couch
![]()
Johnny Carson, the slayer of stars.
Hollywood star artifice was forever shattered by the birth of television. Specifically, Johnny Carson’s late night show. The star system, already threatened by the decline of the studios, was dealt a death blow by Carson’s couch. Stars submitted to unscripted interviews in order to promote their latest film. But absent studio minders, captured in unflattering TV lights and unequal to Carson’s rapid fire wit, most stars shriveled, frequently revealing breathlessly dim personalities. And as the evening wore on and the fidgety actor moved down the couch to make room for the newer guest, the pale star was reduced to the role of disposable prop.
Genuine Hollywood stars were dead and celebrity—a culture of sordid notoriety—moved in to fill the vacuum.
Tiger in Your Tank
![]()
Tiger Woods, a case study in authentic artifice.
Tiger Woods was an old fashioned star for a brief and shining moment. The greatest golfer ever, he was young, handsome, modest and best of all to a generous American public, black. Sorta.
Married with children, he was Clark Gable, Jimmy Stewart and Sidney Poitier all rolled into one.
But now that carefully constructed public persona has been shattered by an emerging scandal and Tiger Woods verges on becoming nothing less than grist for smutty jokes.
Tiger Woods ads and endorsements are rapidly being pulled and we can expect a further erosion in his corporate support.
To an adoring public, Tiger’s authenticity has been revealed as smooth artifice.
Excellence is not enough.
Obama, Sorta
So it is with President Barack Obama.
He was perceived as a prime example of American excellence. Handsome, bright, an accomplished politician and yes, black. Sorta.
America voted for an image.
There was no record of genuine accomplishments. We were gravely informed that being a community organizer—code for socialist agitator—was superb preparation to be POTUS.
And Obama’s dismal one-hundred and fifty days in the Senate consisted of a record number of “Present” votes.
The only thing we knew for sure—aside from the inconvenient fact that he was most comfortable in the company of rabid Jew/America hater Jeremiah Wright—about candidate Obama was that he spoke well when using a teleprompter, looked good in a suit and his unflappable manner suggested a man who was serious and capable.
In a very short time, Obama has been unmasked as a fraud and blunderer who regularly delivers preposterous and self-contradictory gems such as:
“We have to spend our way to prosperity.”
Nothing less than a radical call for endless deficits and the advent of an American nanny state.
In foreign policy, Obama has so devalued America’s exceptional role in the world that our allies are deeply shaken, and our enemies emboldened.
Recently, an ambassador from Kuwait quietly slipped into Iran for the very first time.
Terrified of Iran, Kuwait realizes that it can no longer count on America to project its power, thus she is preparing the ground to gain entry into Iran’s brutal orbit. We can expect a Soviet-style Finlandization of Kuwait in very short order.
Kuwait, along with the entire Arab Muslim world, understands that Obama is an amateur, genuinely weak.
Yup, Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin, an authentic American star.
Which brings us to Sarah Palin.
The liberal media claim that she is a joke, that she doesn’t matter. She has been pornified and attacked in a manner that is unique in modern American politics.
In response to the Palin phenomenon, liberals have enthusiastically embraced Lenin’s ruthless advice: “We are not interested in debating our political opponents, we only want to crush them.”
It’s not hard to comprehend this level of vitriol.
Much to their dismay, liberals understand that the American people are responding to an authentic person. A voice and image that resonates with deeply felt American values.
Palin touches the historic American core in a way that elitists like Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and their ilk cannot begin to comprehend much less project.
When Obama appears on our TV screens in yet another baffling and tedious speech/lecture/kvetch we sigh, exhausted, because the Obama artifice is, by now, so naked, we marvel that his handlers don’t realize that Obama has become a poison pill for Obamism—a political and social philosophy that is, at best, at odds with classical American Judeo Christain values.
But when Sarah Palin simply Tweets—her death panel Tweet is now historic—people pay attention, people react, ordinary people take to the streets.
Authenticity has become such a rare commodity in the public sphere that when it appears, the very landscape shifts under our heels.

Obama and Tiger's stories could be swapped, almost the same story line with the same results.
"Authenticity has become such a rare commodity in the public sphere that when it appears, the very landscape shifts under our heels."
Shalom.
Palin looks like a resolute female Teddy Roosevelt with her jaw defiantly tilting upward and Old Glory as her Back Drop. Looks and smells like the America I love and that's Authentic enough for me.
"Obama and Tiger's stories could be swapped, almost the same story line with the same results."
Not really- Tiger actually is an indisputably great golfer, whatever his other baggage. Obama is a great….. nothing. Tiger will be remembered as the best player ever to swing a 3-wood. Obama will be remembered for being as effective as Jimmy Carter and as honest as Richard Nixon.
How John Kerry and John Heinz married the same woman is a mystery to me? I lived close to Mr. Heinz as a child and had a great deal of respect for him.
Kerry? What an bonafide POS. The answer to the first question is money as if we didn't already know.
I absolutely am heartsick that the GOP will get to claim her as one of their own. She is most definitely her own person, not a member of The Firm.
They are not worthy of her, the paid-for hacks.
.
Governor Palin is a leader, Obama is a follower. A leader leads from the front and understands the core tapestry of what Americans are made of – Duty, Faith, Honor, Country, Charity, Boundless Love for the battered and bruised – The Republican party will one day recognize this; it will not be easy, we've got issues but we will work through them.
Hopefully she (and other conservative) can then use that claim to push the GOP back to the right. They must know now that the 'mushy middle' isn't winning them anything!
You have pretty much covered it except for the difference between celebrity and substance and how it is looked at by the public. Should Mrs.Palin be found to have a toyboy in her retinue or posse, as it is called in some circles, she would be political history as far as the public is concerned. A celeb, the examples are legion, has an orgy, read Charlie Sheen, and there is only minor repercussions if any. Say something stupid ala Jessica Simpson and it increases her Q rating, I believe thats correct example? Handlers are not required any longer since the change in public acceptance of celebrity that doesn't require perfection. Obama is just in transition from substance to celebrity.
Small point of order. Mrs. Palin didn't 'tweet' death panels, she made a post to her facebook page about death panels. Otherwise, excellent article.
With some trepidation, I hope she claims the party, not that the party claims her.
I dont like comparing Tiger to the Fudge Nitwit. Tiger screwed a few women, Barrack Obama is screwing the future of America.
Well, the GOP leaders haven't yet proven to be that smart. All they are is expedient. Expediency Above All should be their party seal, cuz they've walked back from integrity ever since the Contract With American and turned it into a Contract On America.

They don't know, they are like dems/socialists/communists, it just hasn't been done properly.
If they only had their way completely it would be the panacea they think it would be. Yeah right.
True, I was referring to the rise and fall.
"President Palin"…. ahhh, that conjures the wonderful image of liberal's eyes bulging then their heads exploding, like in that 70s scifi-horror movie "Scanners." I can't wait to see the news footage of legions of liberals staggering around in the streets, crying and wailing hysterically, wetting their pants. Maybe the worst 50 million of them will 'Jim Jones' themselves right out of our misery and this country can be a wonderful happy secure productive place again.
Please, stop calling Toger the greatest golfer there ever was. He wasn't before his "transgressions" became public. Bobby Jones is the best golfer there ever was. I'm a little over the Tiger and Obama comparisons. Let's try "The Differences Between Tiger and Bobby Jones" topic. At least that one would inspire.
Well, Obama's been in bed with every effin' Chicago politician and now they're all shocked, shocked! to find he's been unfaithful to every one of them. He loves 'em and leaves 'em faster than Tiger could dream. Plus, Obama's smart enough not to keep a publishable record of his words.
. . . be fun to hack his Crackberry, however. . .
or crack his hackberry

Gee's I never thought of that "A Female Teddy Roosevelt" it fits and fits well.
Sarah is great. It's "Palin" as the nose on your face.
Ahhhhh, scanners. what a fine image to invoke. I can see it now, bloody lib stumps in Starbucks everywhere. Warms my heart.
Oh, a "publishable record of his words" EXISTS all right. It's just that he has a multi-million-dollar team of lawyers on retainer fighting tooth and nail to keep his "publishable record" as far from public scrutiny as possible. One can only wonder why…or not, really.
If she does achieve GOP ascendency, funnier than watching the liberals will be watching the GOP Rockefeller, elitist wing wail and gnash their teeth over it.
Actually, Nixon was WAY more honest than any of at least the last 3 Democratic presidents, and all of the Democratic contenders for the past 20 years.
When the 1960 election was stolen from him, he conceded rather than submit his country to the turmoil of a contest in the courts;
In the wake of Watergate, a scandal in which his only part was too zealously seeking to protect his underlings, he resigned rather than submit the country to an impeachment proceeding which he argueably could have won.
Gore, Clinton, or Obama in the honesty department would need a trampoline to kiss Nixon's ass.
A very, very, nice post by Robert. Thank you! The Lenin quote about "crushing your opponent" as it relates to former governor Sarah Palin is right on the money
WELL SAID………AlistZ
There's a copy of the Kerry fund raising letter here:
http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2009/12/privat...
Palin is a true political savant, she has an innate ability to effortlessly do retail politics that other politicians can only dream of doing
What Sarah Palin has can neither be taught nor learned,, "IT" just is, and Sarah Palin has "IT" like no other.
Like an Alaskan williwaw, Sarah Palin is more akin to a force of nature. And like a destructive williwaw, on a calm sunny day, she can suddenly strike out of nowhere wreaking havoc upon the thought to be safe unwary.
Palin is every bit as inauthentic as any other political creation, every bit as much image-first as Obama. There's nothing unique or especially clever about her positions or statements save for the vessel.
Obama, more or less, came to the public as a boilerplate Democrat party line dispenser "packaged" as Will Smith; and by the same token Palin is essentially a Republican speak-n-spell dressed up as Annie Oakley. "Authenticity" in politics is like "realism" in art: It's all illusion, and the people who buy it DESERVE to be hoodwinked.
How many hundred Chinese are assigned to this very task alone is a matter of wonder….
If Holder pushes the CIA far enough, they may just dig up that long-form birth certificate. Or if MaoBama screws over Israel, maybe the Mossad will.
Not to belabor the point, but the Kenyan newspaper archives of 2004 state that he was Kenyan born as do his Kenyan relatives. I remember when right after the inauguration, Rahmbo flew to Kenya amidst the insistence of the relatives that Obie was indeed a Kenyan native, probably to shut them all up and confiscate whatever outstanding papers there might have been.
Has anyone thought to investigate Obie's birth father to see if any mention was ever made about the birth or perhaps the Kenyan grandmother?
I recall another woman that people were filled with vitrol about because she resonated with deeply felt American values in a different way. She wrote a book. She was on TV endlessly. Rumor mags sold copy after copy by placing her face on the cover. There was much talk about her child. Her idelogical opponents seemed to have and endless rage that she masterfully brought out time and time again. That woman, Madonna. My point? Sometimes when you think perhaps someone "dost protest too much". It means that they really don't like her.
What TIger did is between him and his wife. This has become a diversion to hide MaoBama's political transgressions. Our country is being looted from within.
Great article. So, while ClimateGate was in full meltdown, what news item did the lamestream choose to cover? Sarah Palin's visor. LMAO. She has indeed got IT, and IT drives the liberals to the further dregs of insanity. Unless you follow blogs devoted solely to Sarah's comings and goings, you would never know that several times during her book tour she got off the bus, nearing midnight, just to thank the persons camping out overnight for the booksigning. THAT is connecting. Something Obama could never do. He is a politician, she is a Leader.
If only the history record would say the same thing, or if people would have the guts to open their eyes and see the difference in the practice now, we would have a better chance of holding those currently in power to more accountability.
You make a lot of great points there. I'm going to say something more in a general post. But re: devaluation of celebrity – I think a large part of that phenomenon is due to the thought now anyone can be a celebrity, not talking a star here, but someone who can become widely know and desired for such inane distinctions as having a big butt. The "idiots" think if they're noticed in some trivial way they can get their 15 minutes, and live on easy street.
So – they have to accept all the foibles and shortcomings of their idols, because they know the famous are really no different than themselves. And they know they would do just as bad in the same situations.
MovieBob has it right. Palin is just as suseptable to a fall from grace as anyone. She perfectly matched the needed cog in McCain's machine at that time. Otherwise she wouldn't be on the stage she is right now. She was manufactured, to a degree.
But – and this is the crux of the issue in my eyes, she has lived up to the image she has portrayed. Just the same as Tiger had lived up to his image, (with the help of a blind golf press), until this past Thanksgiving. I agree with placing Tiger at the top of any Greatest List because he is a great golfer. He was a star, now he's just famous.
Palin is a star right now. Where is her path headed in the coming years? If she's adverse to the anal probes and impossible levels of expectations, she should run for POTUS. I and many others would support her. Otherwise a nice speaking and advising career is laid out for her to use the image she projects and the principles she stands for to a greater good. Without the possibility of falling as far.
Hmm….well, I do know that I and a lot of other people changed party affiliations TO Republican this year in response to the political scene. Maybe we are the "new base" for the party that will foster a move back to the right and traditional American values and governance. We just need to let the party leaders know who we are, what we believe and what we stand for. I think I'll do that, starting with the local party office and go all the way up. I LOVE to write letters.
I look forward to your post. There are a lot of ways to look at this. The Dems hold the Republicans to a much higher standard than they themselves. Your position in life also determines certain standards of
behavior, of higher or lower esteem. I believe there is an irrefutable argument for standards which probably make me what I am, a conservative.
Tiger is a sex hound over paid athelite nothing original there Obabbo is just a Chicage gangster nothing authentic there
You can bet John Kerry read the obituaries trolling for rich widows when he spotted that dog faced Theresa Heinz Kerry. He's ain't nothing but a gigolo!
MovieBob has it kind of right. Palin is just as susceptible to a fall from grace as anyone. And she perfectly matched the needed cog in McCain's machine at the time. She took advantage of appearing to be something she was being used for. She was manufactured, to a degree. Thanks to that, though, she is now able to be on the stage she is and speak in a way that is making a connection with society.
Palin has lived up to her image so far. She is a star now. Just as Tiger had become, (with the help of a blind golf press), up until this past Thanksgiving. I agree Tiger should be at the top of the Greatest Golfers List, but he was a star, now he's just famous.
Palin's future path is open to all possibilities. If she is willing to put up with the [an]al probe the media will give her, she should run for POTUS. I and many others will support her. She also has a lucrative path available for a speaking and consulting career. I wish her the best.
At first, I assumed that Obama and Co. were incompetent, spending stimulus money ineffectively and naively putting all energy into "fundamentally Changing America." Then I began to think that, no, this Administration is not incompetent, but knew exactly what they were doing: buying and paying for The Unions, and getting the most out of "A Good Crisis," by usurping the American Auto Industry; taking over the American Insurance industry, dominating and bullying Banking, and buying-off Wall Street.
But now I have a new opinion; he/they are both, but add in stupid. Stupid, because in America, jobs are everything. Americans are consumers….. by choice. Immigrants come to America…. by choice. America is all about choosing for oneself. Without a job, there is choice, hence no America. No consumers, no immigrants; no choice.
This administration is already history, and here's the irony: This will be America's longest Lame Duck Administration, an administration that unabashedly compares itself to the FDR Presidency, the longest running Presidency in American History!
Of course they hold the Repubs to a standard because Dems have standards that fluctuate so much there appear to be none.
I'm not sure about the positions in life equaling different standards, but I agree with you that I am a conservative because of the standards I believe in.
Harry Varden for #1 Golfer!
As for Sarah, we can see how important to the debate she is by the amount of energy her opponents expend trying to crush her. Palin & Coulter 2012!!!
I believe we have the makings of a discussion for another time.
I wil wait until I read your post.
I can see your point tho its difficult to access anyone let alone golfers from different eras.
All I can go by is accomplishments and I assume we won't let personal habits in the conversation
or you win. We really don't know if Bobby Jones had any personal bad habits we should know about
tho I assume he didn't. I will let you tell me if Tiger's indescretions should matter in the discussion.
Doesn't Jack Nicklaus have an iron in this fire so to speak?
Yeah, keep on saying it to yourself and clicking your heels together jackass.
MovieBob to himself:
"There's no place like Berkley…there's no place like Berkley…"
Anyone got a spare house…?
When were you thinking? I have to go into work tonight for a couple of hours. You want to get a coffee later?
Dressed up as Annie Oakley? Dude, she kills bears. And then she eats them.
Why I do declare missy, since I would be too late arriving to enjoy your company
at this late hour, please allow me to suggest a later more convenient time
when one could give his full attention to a fine young lady such as yourself. I will consult my
blackberry and see how it fits your schedule.
Thank you so very much.
When you read Palins book, you see real authenticity, she loves America, and believes in America, her parents taught her well!
ohh, uhhh, welllllll, uh, uh, dam this internet!!
Hey duuuude. … uuuhhhh … How 'bout them Yankees?
Gotta disagree. Palin is a politician running for office. That means (to me, at least) that her public persona is just as carefully honed as Obama's or Tiger's. No one ventures into the media spotlight without a ton of makeup and a schtick crafted to appeal to some constituency or other. Whatever Palin is, she's not "authentic."
Generally, you're correct, Bugs.
But it IS different with Palin.
BO's campaign ALONG WITH the ENTIRE media parachuted into Wasilla and Anchorage and Juneau on August 30, 2008, went through her trash, grabbed anyone on the street, went through public records, WAVED CASH AROUND, and in other ways did everything they could to dig up dirt.
We've seen the dust particles. If there were more it would have been used.
And they're still doing it. Hello? Levi Johnston? Would've spilled something if he had something a LONG time ago.
So yes, we're seeing the real Palin.
This article catches what is important in the Tiger Woods' story. The public image of Tiger Woods was a manufactured image, and it would not have lasted as long as it did if members of the press had not protected him. A similar situation occurred with John Kennedy, who was hailed as a young, athletic family man when he was in fact troubled with a serious back problem and was constantly whoring around. Ted Kennedy and John Edwards are two others whose manufactured images were protected by the press. When the press loves an individual, the reality of that individual is probably not as good as the public image, and when the press hates an individual, the reality of that individual is probably better than public perception.
For those who still doubt Gov Palin's authenticity, consider her own response when someone (I think, Bill O'Reilly) asked her about the McCain Campaign investigation of her, in preparation for the VP tapping ….. she was most worried about them discovering that she earned a 'D' in some paper while at College! ….. the response itself 'rings true' …. demonstrating yet again her authenticity.
The woman has no significant artiface – her only masking is the temporary full makeup mask she wears when in public (as do many/most American women) …… and btw, did you read Gov Palin's response to someone quizzing her about 'being HOT!' ? She said (paraphrasing here) 'well, (laughing) you haven't seen me without my makeup mask when I come in hot and perspiring from a long run ….' yet ANOTHER authentic response …
cont.
She has journalists interview her (as did her husband also) in her own home, with piles of shoes at the door, while attending to several family matters at the same time, for goodness sake! …. the woman is hiding nothing …. what you see is what you get.
Gov Palin is a leader like no other. She chose to resign her Governorship in Alaska for altruistic reasons, KNOWING that she was putting any possible future political career in jeopardy by leaving early. She TRULY does not do 'politics as usual' which would have her continuing to hold office 'in name only and taking a full paycheck courtesy of THE TAXPAYER' while actually campaigning for some other office and effectively IGNORING her constituents.
America – Providence is presenting you with an authentic GIFT at this desperate time in your history ……. if you are wise, you will accept it, even GRAB it hungrily with both hands.
Very true, when it comes to gold, it's really about opinion. I would assume since BJ hada full golf career, a family and a law practice, in those days, I can't imagine where he'd find the time. As eras are concerned, when comparing BJ and TW, I think about the fact that 1. BJ didn't have th eequipment that golfers use today and 2. BJ also had a dibilitaing disease. I think that BJ had a tougher time b/c those days were harsher than anything today's pros go through. Ad to be honest i don't know much about the Niklaus issue, I'l have to read up.
It's my opinion that one's perspective is their reality and since, my hushand works at Bobby Jones Golf Course and we live in BJ's old stomping grounds, I am fully aware of my bias.
Bobby Jones, it seems to me, is in at least the top 3 in everybody's ranking if not number 1.
While all this is from a non-golfer, I do enjoy watching the sport and is or was a big fan of Tigers.
A persons character is part of my picture in politics, Hollywood, or sports in my estimation.
While I can appreciate the talent Mike Tyson, posessed for short time I never really cared for the guy.
There are others of course, but I am having the hardest time dealing with Tigers free fall from
the highest pedestal everyone, including me, have placed him. Make an argument as the best
golfer sure, its possible but will I now… not likely but time may tell if he can redeem himself.
I'll bow to your bias and your opinion, at least until the next star rises to the challenge.
"at least until the next star rises to the challenge"
And I'm hoping Mickelson crosses the threshold of that challenge. LOL
From this distance he seems to have the character issue resolved and Tigers caddy
doesn't like him would that now be a plus?
Well, Ive not cared too much what Tiger's caddy had to say about Phil. Of course he has every right to dislike him, but he was classless by touting those opinions in public. If I remember correctly the last thing Steve said about Phil in public, Tiger was very upset with him. Anyways, I've heard rumors about Phil's character, but I have not witnessed anything of what little I"ve heard. And FYI, I watch alot of golf on tv and any tournaments I can get to here in Atlanta.
Phil may treat his fellow pros like jerks, but he's always, always has been gracious to his fans. IMO, Phil is an everyman golfer. (I tell me people i like him b/c he makes me laugh and cry) And I don't know of any pro golfer that does more for the variety of charities that Phil's involved with.
I don't mean this to be the ever lasting thread, BUT, does it show the class
of the pro golfers in general when as you say "Phil treated fellow pros like jerks"
they seemed to come together to support him and his wife Amy when she was diagnosed with cancer or do you think it was just Amy they were acknowledging?
Aside, We have kind of taken a step away from the lofty heights Mr. Jones occupies.
I love everlasting threads, LOL. So, sorry, if I did not make myself clear. The rumors regarding Phil were that he treated other pros like jerks, I don't know if that was the case or not. And yes the other pros did support Phil immensely after Amy and his mother's diagnoses. I guess, all in all, what I'm trying to say that there are some pros today that show the class of the old pros such as BJ, and unfortunately went unnoticed by the attention of TW. Yes, he played excellent golf and yes it was entertaining as well to even non-golfers, but I personally need more than that.
Well, we still have some characters to enliven our equivalent of Baseballs
hot stove league discussion. Daly, if he can get his card back, will keep his self destruct button handy, not a fan of that Woody guy, Kim, is a typical young guy who has his detractors, but I like a lot. As long as we are talking about fond of and not fond of, or at least I am, I can't wait for Sabatini to come out with a I sorta told you so, referring to Tiger's difficulties. He is probably reveling in Tigers fall from his pedestal. What a jerk he seems to be as I take another step down from BJs exalted position with this discussion. ( You should have stopped my ramblings when you had the chance)
Not a Woody Austin fan? I'd like to hear why. I think he's pretty good golfer and has fun with the game. I am in total agreement about Rory. A couple of years ago, at East Lake, I was at the 8th green, and Rory hit his ball past the green. Of course people surrounded the ball then backed away when he approached. I'm guessing he was especially irritated b/c he didn't make the green and just started showing his a$$. Up to that point, I figured his "temper" were exaggerated, but alas not the case.
And in comparison, at the last Master's, Phil shanked his first shot on Sat and as he walked by, I said, "You got this, Phil" he turned and said thanks. I can't think of too many golfers that are as engaging.
And I do like Els, altho at the Tour this past Sept, he walked straight from signing his card to the parking lot. Kids started following him for autographs but he completely ignored them. I don't know why, but this attitude really really bugs me.
The continuing saga of Golf's famous, infamous and the practically invisible
practioners of the art of stick swinging.
Austin just doesn't make me smile, I guess its a personality clash. I've forgotten the initial incident that started it, something he said at a interview
when he was in the beginning stages of being made a personality that Golf
smart guys deemed lacking in the sport. Els reaction to, I guess, a bad round of which he has had some experience with lately is
disappointing tho anyone can have a bad day. At least he doesn't groove golf balls in to the 4some ahead or into the concession stand for the heck of it as the serial divorcer does or did. The personalities of Golf is interesting. The media protected Tiger as they did in the old days with Baseball players. They usually will post the hard to see birth marks of the players but Tiger got a big pass. Daly, not so much. Not that he didn't deserved it.
