The Europeans are Socialists, and damn proud of it- Social Democrats, they call themselves. Yes, I'm fully aware of the distinction between Communism and lesser forms of Socialism with regard to control of the means of production etc (although Clement Atlee's socialist government was pretty Soviet when it came to taking over industry).

Face facts, my friend: when government gets into the business of redistributing wealth it's paddling in the waters of the Red Rubicon. Confiscating from some to award it to others more "deserving;" from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs. The United states started wading under FDR and got knee-deep under LBJ. Now we have an Administration who, besides having members who actually admire murdering tyrants like Mao and Fidel, has actively recruited avowed communists like Van Jones and International Socialists like Carol Browner.

But the slick patter coming from liberals/progressives/collectivists/insert-euphemism-here remains, "Socialism is something just to the left of what we're doing." So now you're asserting that it ain't socialist unless it's fully Bolshevik. Rubbish.

Incidentally, I was not (thank God) educated in public schools. Nixon/Reagan/Bush would have done far better had they worked to make quality private education more widely available, rather than force most of our children into the welfare schools.

One position, are you kidding me? Where do I start?

1) Stifling the free press (a la Fox News denigration)
2) Nationalizing 1/6th of the US Economy via health care
3) Pulling out of Eastern Europe's defense by removing the missile shield
4) Placing "social justice" over Justice by not enforcing border defense and supporting illegal's amnesty.
5) Being complicit in Congress' midnight bill releases and forced vote before the members have a chance to read them. (AKA rubber stamping)
6) Sending political hit-men after a prior administrations legal advisers to score political points with a rabid left-wing base.
7) "Spreading the wealth around."
Want more, I got'em.
