Olive Thomas did not commit suicide, it was ruled accidental poisoning. But I wouldn't doubt that Alma and Jack Pickford probably scored dope together.

It looks like your comment about Wallace Reid is back again. Of course, I could have just missed it the first time. Sorry about that.

Will you be doing anything on Barbara La Marr "The Girl Who Was Too Beautiful"? I'm also a big fan of Old Hollywood.

Bill:

I don't believe for one second that Ince was murdered. You have to remember that in those days diagnosis and medicine was not what we are used to. Look what happened to Jean Harlow, misdiagnosed for years and years. Ince's death was not strange. He almost certainly had a massive heart attack. If Hearst killed someone, anyone, and there was a ship full of passengers, believe me, not even Hearst could hush that up, especially when you consider that movie people are the biggest yentas in the world!

Robert - you are so knowledgeable on early Hollywood - and I enjoy the history of William Randolph Hearst and Marion Davies - How plausible is the "murder mystery" as shown on The Cat's Meow - the strange death of Thomas Ince on Hearst's yacht ?

I am sure that Hollywood has plenty of undiscovered secrets - the Black Dahlia?

The best place to start reading about the silent era are books by Kevin Brownlow, especially, "The Parade's Gone By."
