‘I Believe In Eco-Terrorism’: Does James Cameron Live In a Malibu Mansion?
by Pam MeisterJust when you think certain celebrities couldn’t get any more obnoxious, we are treated to an interview with last night’s Golden Globe winner, James “I’m the King of the World” Cameron in Entertainment Weekly. On page 35 of the latest edition of the print version, Cameron responds to the following criticism of his latest film “Avatar”:
EW: “Avatar” is the perfect eco-terrorism recruiting tool.”
JC: Good, good. I like that one. I consider that a positive review. I believe in ecoterrorism.”

Apparently, he said this in all seriousness.
For those of you who do not know what eco terrorism is, meet the people of ELF. No, not the blue creatures in “Avatar,” but the people of the Earth Liberation Front. According to Wikipedia, ELF is the collective name for anonymous, autonomous individuals who use “economic sabotage and guerrilla warfare to stop the exploitation and destruction of the environment.” In other words, they burn down buildings and engage in other destructive activities under the cover of darkness because they believe we should all still be living in caves and subsisting on roots and berries.
ELF engages in family-friendly activities like toppling radio towers because “AM radio waves cause adverse health effects;” burning luxury home developments; and firebombing research facilities in order to stop research on genetically-engineered trees and modified potatoes.
ELF has declared war on “greedy capitalist pigs” and “rich scum.” People like … James Cameron.
According to two online sources, our buddy James lives in an 8,272 square foot “cottage” in Malibu with 6 bedrooms and 7 baths, complete with the requisite pool, tennis court and inner courtyard fit for Hollywood royalty.

A mansion with a pool in the desert? As someone who grew up in the arid climes of the American West and having lived in severe drought conditions, I can attest to how delicate the ecological balance is. Still, I don’t believe firebombing is the answer, although I will lecture anyone who dares let the water run while brushing his teeth.
For further reference, let’s go back to October of 2007, when fires raged through Southern California:
The raging Southern California wildfires that intensified over the weekend are threatening the homes of a number of stars who reside in Malibu. Mel Gibson, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Hanks, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, James Cameron, Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn, Rob Reiner, David Geffen, David Duchovny, Mark Hamill, Olivia Newton-John and Bill Murray are among the stars who have been evacuated or whose homes are potentially in jeopardy. …
It turns out the devastating fires were started accidentally because a 10-year-old boy was playing with matches. But perhaps if ELF or a similar organization had started it to destroy the luxury homes of the Hollywoodite set, James might have felt better had his home been among the 655 destroyed. Or forget accidental fires; perhaps he’d actually be fine with ELF targeting his ritzy neighborhood. It’s all in a good cause, you know … the environment. And I’m sure he’s generously insured.
And what about the complaints that chlorinated water from the specially-built tank for Cameron’s blockbuster “Titanic” ruined the livelihoods of nearby fishermen in Baja, California? Fox denied their allegations, so who knows for sure if the fishermen were just looking for a payout? But what if it were true? Would ELF have been justified in destroying the “Titanic” set in order to save the little fishies? Would James have been a big fan of eco terrorism then?

Better yet: According to research done by the University of California, the film and television industry is the largest polluters in the Los Angeles region. Mari-Jo Winkler, executive producer of Away We Go, admitted, “We are probably one of the most wasteful businesses.” Yet so many “stars” lecture the little people on how to live a “greener” lifestyle. What would the likes of James Cameron think if ELF opened up its unique can of whoop ass on Hollywood?
But never mind. Cameron doesn’t see himself as being part of the kind of corporate entity that ELF and its imitators target. He’s an “artiste” who, rather than denouncing dangerous people who blow things up to get their point across, prefers to tell a story about how former Marines who, rather than take advantage of the GI bill and study something genteel like acting or film making, become bloodthirsty savages who can’t wait to gun down the innocent Na’vi while in the employ of an evil, greedy corporation. But Cameron? The first director to have two films earn $1 billion? He’s not greedy.
He’s just a tool. And that’s being kind.

While many in Hllywood claim that they worshp at the altar of Gaia (Environmentalism), in reality they worship at the altar of Midas (Money) and Narcissus (Ego). They buld their pleasure palaces, travel in their limos and private jets, and cluck about themselv es.
this is funny as – HE'S A FILM DIRECTOR – he directs films and he's made two (or three) really good ones.
deal with it, please.
B. Holland, your response is so very typical of the left.
When confronted with a logical argument you resort to name calling while altogether avoiding the substance of the debate.
If you threw James Cameron out in the middle of a jungle with no electronics and no DEET, he wouldn't survive the night.
To B Holland:
I was reading your comment but then threw it out of my head when you insulted the appearance of the author of the article. Your small mind and penchant for cruelty are unattractive. Your comment was meant to be hurtful. This shows what kind of person you are on the inside. Perhaps you should do a personal/spiritual overhaul before you lash out at others.
Hrm. Ad Hominem attacks and ridicule. Certainly the trademarks of an effective argument.
On the right, there is an affection for the brave young men that are putting their lives in danger. Many of us have family members who have served, or who are currently serving. I can't claim to speak for everyone else, but I do take some offense when an 'artiste' makes a film that portrays American soldiers (whether directly or by allegory) as bloodthirsty, mindless drones, utlimately serving a wicked corporate entity.
Sounds an awful lot like Avatar, no?
What is most noteworthy, isn't that the film was made, I treasure freedom of speech, and think that even if I disagree, brave soldiers have died to ensure that everyone may have their say. What is most noteworthy is that the people who make the biggest deal about ecological issues are frequently the most guilty of the 'eco-crimes' they so loudly decry. See the above article. Keeping a large structure cool, and an above ground pool filled, in the desert likely leaves a nasty carbon footprint.
It is remarkable that green peace (and groups like it) aren't asking hollywood to put its money where its mouth has been for decades.
Any dipwad who endorses eco-terrorism *deserves* to be bashed. Got it?
(And whether or not Titanic and Avatar made lots of money, they're still slick, pretty but ultimately dumb movies)
When a film director injects politics into his films, he's placed himself in the realm of political criticism. When he extends his film's politics into radicalism, he's asking for a beatin'.
Bashing is the sincerest form of Bashing.
I agree, but I think the order is wrong, ego first, then money.
Why all the screaming JeffB?
the 'Avatar' thing is becoming tiresome…
Only because it is classic Jim Cameron 'have it both ways' dialectic. He is a fraud. Period.
Talented technocrat? You bet. Visionary filmmaker? Not so fast. He is a relentlessly derivative, unoriginal thinker. And his politics? Very Martin Sheen limousine liberal.
As his lifestyle shows. Yes, hypocrites such as he figure thugs like ELF will just pick on conservative owned Radio station towers, or Republicanowned Hummer dealerships.
Doesn't work that way, Jim- they don't like your conspicuous consumption, either. Let's just say in their lexicon-
You're next…
Dear Avatar defending trolls:
Yes, this site bashes films. It also loves films. Sometimes I don't agree at all with what the article's writer said. Sometimes I do.
It's mentally odd, though, to come to a site where someone is complaining about something and then complain about that complaining. It's like complaining that someone doesn't like Broccoli. It's mental!
The fires of 2007 were NOT started by a 10 yr old boy playing with matches..wrong fire, wrong cause. Malibu residents are still attempting to pursue justice against the four young men who are charged with starting the fire known as Corral Canyon Fire, these "men" were at a remote, closed and posted site known to be a party spot for raves and illegal activity. The fire was reported to have begun when a bonfire set by the punks was stoked and kicked out of the pit into the chaparral to ignite the surrounding bushes in extremely high windy conditions – a Red Flag day fully posted and noticed through every form of media. Rather than attempt to put out the beginning fire, or even to notify any authorities or sleeping residents in immediate danger – these punks ran like cowards and were only identified after an exhaustive investigation. They left a receipt at the cave, traced it back to the store and even got the video surveillance of them stealing the very firewood that they used to cause the havoc.
Again, cowards and punks, not an accident but malicious behavior and subsequent concealment and avoidance of responsibility.
Please be sure to get the facts straight, there are still a majority of homeowners that were burned out in that fire who are suffering great economic losses and in temporary housing. These are not the grand wealthy types of individuals, working folks who are struggling to pay the old mortgage while now paying rent as well.
And the party site isn't patrolled by the rangers, state agencies who hold title – it's up to the residents to protect themselves from future fires and illegal gatherings by drunk, drugged little wayward "adults" with minor brains.
As far as James Cameron is concerned, there is a little favorite label we have for those types of residents who simply hide in their cavernous cubicles….Limo Liberals. Their preferences for energy consumption renders them totally irrevelant in any conversation about the environment and conservation.
Now, let's talk about "The Edge" from U2 and his plans for his little personal fiefdom in the Malibu hills that would be so damaging to the environment, yet he publicly markets his plans as green building and environmentally superior with technological advancements. Hypocrites, lying fools, selling, selling, selling.
Just another Hollywood hypocrite- pretending to care, one empty gesture, and one vacuous comment, at a time…
Can the site at least post current photos? There have to be a gazillion from just last night. This guy has been in the news for months. It weakens credibility when a site that's supposed to be on top of current events can't be bothered to get a contemporary image. Cameron no longer has a bear, his hair is longer and he's chubbier. Maybe it's a nitpick, but it just seems sloppy to me.
Yeah, but look at all of the people who come here, declaring that they hate everything Hollywood does, and never go to movies or watch tv…yet feel it necessary to repeatedly take the time to let us know they hate Hollywood, don't see movies, etc.
"And what about the complaints that chlorinated water from the specially-built tank for Cameron’s blockbuster “Titanic” ruined the livelihoods of nearby fishermen in Baja, California?"
He totally screwed that section of Baja.
I don't know about the fisherman. You see self-professed anti-chlorine hippie? Chlorine is a gas by nature. Not a liquid. Think about that before you decide to let cladasporium proliferate in your living quarters.
Back to JC. Thanks for NOTHING. The reason we used to jet over the border was to enjoy the Mexican ghetto in peace and quiet. Cold beer. Basura everywhere. Dead dogs on the side of the road. Killer tacos.
You turned them – the service people – into a bunch of Hollywoodist wannabes. He brought that crap-arse attitude from LA and pissed it all over the Mexican getaway.
You blow chunks James. Peace. Out.
Tru dat.
B Holland – your clumsy cliche' ridden bully fantasy epitomizes why we call you people "libtards".
"Congratulations Mr Cameron on your stellar achievements and your wins last night for best picture and director. " -That part truly made me laugh out loud. Do you actually think "Mr. Cameron" gives a shit about you or your boot-licking congratulatory message? Idiot.
Wait until they put a gate at Sunset and PCH. It may not happen this decade but LA ain't getting any safer.
I'm for it. I'm also for control burns. Have any of these eco-nuts ever really looked at the landscape? I'm not quite sure what they are trying to protect that can't be flushed out first. Miles of combustible "green" waste should keep Mailbu on its toes….or at least on its Gulfstream.
Really? You have a problem with that? Do you just love his new flowing hair? Holy crap, who cares about the photo?!?!?!? Nedd pictures to enjoy the article? Huh? Do ya? I don't want you take this the wrong way but…you are a child.
If he supports Eco-terror why don't he burn his stuff and all his Hollywood buds junk too? He just a poser as all of them are
I love the juvenile cries of "deal with it!" Blogging is just one way of dealing with it.
Another progressive who's arguments consist of hyperbole and name-calling. Color me shocked.
But have you considered that it's possible for someone to make a successful film and still be a tool?
Haven't seen "Avatar". Can't say I'm going to, knowing the fraud being perpetrated by Mr. Cameron. Limousine liberal, indeed! "Let them eat cake!"
B Holland and Jeff B are both butt buddies who worship at the alter of guys like Cameron and would give their right nut to score a pair of his dirty stained undies to make their own tea bags out of and drink his dirty water tea. They don't like it when we point out that their side is made up of two faced liars who are causing the biggest problems and screaming at the rest of us to not do what they feel they are entitled to do. They want us "little people" to suffer eco terror at the hands of his elf buddies when we try to crawl ahead by developing land into something we can benefit from, but if they had to give up their homes or jobs for the very same reason they would scream like stuck pigs. It sickens me that so many fools are so supportive of people like Cameron and don't care to see the two faces the rest of us can clearly see in them. So rather than let us point it out to the world they wold rather call us names for showing what fools they fantasize about being.
"two of the most successful films of all time. LOL"
Argumentum ad populum: a lot of people bought tickets, so that proves that James Cameron isn't a self-hating barely-literate screenwriter poseur who toes a decades-old political line for awards while living a private life that exemplifies everything he publicly bashes. I can see how you made that connection. Oh, wait. No.
This is a silly rant. You don't need to post a picture of a fresh turd to know that it is still poop. I don't care if the pic is old or new. It is still the same turd.
I wouldn't either. I have no sense of direction and mosquitoes love me. And creept crawlies on my when I cannot see because it is pitch black?
I have to go lie down now.
Thanks for the accurate info. Sad either way.
Congratulations on being the first to post. You really must be scanning this site.
If "us people" at Breitbart are such tools, why pay us any attention?
Because, we are voicing the Truth, and that drives lazy libtard true believers insane. BUH-BYE, drone.
There is a place for them here.
There is a place here for those defending Avatar.
And
There is a place… ahem… for those defending eco-terrorism.
I do not want you to take this the wrong way, but you are strange and rude.
Good idea! Let's give it a try. I'm sure ol' Jim would love to spend a few hours in nature so he can destroy it while he dies….
The current photo makes him look a bit sinister. An intentional choice, perhaps?
I think you make a valid point. It is a site on Hollywood. it should be up to date.
That said, they posted an old picture of Andrew for the piece that they did on his making the 100 conservatives list. Sooo.
As an aside I was much relieved to find out Andrew is no longer sporting the chinlip hair. Apparently it is the small things for me. So – earth's destruction by meteor be damned… I need to be assured the chin hair is gone!!
I digress. Did I say I agree with you? Yep. OK I am done.
Hey! Guys! Can we all look forward and follow the director for once. I have a 4 sylable word here, so wet your whistles so you can follow along and say it real loud for our cameras. Ok? Ok, I'll lift my hand and direct this one. It's gotta be in one take.
"Hy-Po-Cri-Sy!".. There I knew you could do it. The word is "Hypocrisy" (Yeah! I know it's mispelled, but that fact got you to repeat it again-Thanx!)
Don't let the Cladosporium Liberation Front hear you talking like that. Pathogenic fungi are people, too!
Yeah! I'm kinda broke too. These rich super stars have gotten so much riches they do forget. Now don't they?
Yup – he is just like the rest of the Hollywood types "big a$$ hypogrite"!!!
The award show are also BS – they get paid sooo much money and then they blow wind up each others a$$ what a joke.
The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.
– Marcus Aurelius
I think it shows him proclaiming his inner Simon Cowell
Wait.
Are you saying…
hypocrisy?
Pam,
Good research, thank you. If Cameron really believes in eco-terrorism he needs to go ahead and burn that mansion down – prove it Jim.
This story is like the Goracle demanding we stop pumping CO2 into the atmosphere because we're all gonna die. Problem is the Goracle lives in a 10,000 square foot mansion in Nashville that uses 20 times the electricity of the average home.
These people are Watermelons – green on the outside, red on the inside. They don't care about the environment – they just want control over people. They know best. We're just Bible-thumping ignorant Rednecks who need to be "nudged" into submission. Mansions for them, public housing for us. Private jets for them, public transportation for us. The Road to Serfdom is paved with money earned from movies like Incovenient Truth and Avatar. Stop giving these clowns your money.
That's on purpose. Modern liberalism's foundation is emotions. And emotions can not win a debate against logic and reason.
So insult, claim the moral high ground, while in reality, skulking out of the arena of the free exchange of ideas.
It's okay to be a hypocrite if you're a liberal, I guess.
I had to reply to this. You say: "…but I do take some offense when an 'artiste' makes a film that portrays American soldiers (whether directly or by allegory) as bloodthirsty, mindless drones, utlimately serving a wicked corporate entity."
Hmm, I have to be honest and say that the first thought where all about Cheney and Halliburton and America's "War on Terror" in a country that had nothing to do with 911. So I do see your allegorical point and can see why you'd take offense at such a film. However, when I watched the film, I didn't get any of that. I saw Man, (not americans) doing what Mankind does best; act before thinking.
To me, It wasn't the Americans that took over Pandora. What I find interesting about your post is that you did.
Libtards? Is that supposed to be a play on "retards"?
That's nice.
You're a good person I bet.
I'm the web master for our local church, and I do have a lot of images on the web server, but I prefer to have a basic set of images that I just rotate through. It's very easy to let the number of images spin out of control, I learned that the hard way.
Also images take considerably more space than text. I'd have to say probably 85% of my used disk space is just images. Of course, I also have several photo galleries.
At least they're talking about it.
And you would?
It's important to note, that while you may all be right and JC is a polluting, fish-killing, mansion-living, rich, movie-maker – he's at least getting people to talk about the environment and our place in it. You may feel this way or that way about the man; that he's not living up to the expectations he puts forth in his movies, that he's preaching and not living by what he preaches, but that's all his problem, not yours.
Nothing about any of those arguments changes how you yourself feel about the messages being raised by the movie;
- Should we just go taking resources blindly and at the expense of nature and wildlife?
- Is it possible to live more in tune with nature?
- Are we only these bodies or is there something more to life?
It doesn't matter what you think of the guy that made the movie; what do you think about the concepts within?
And one last thing… maybe it's just me but shouldn't Eco-Terrorism describe terrorism against the ecology, like mountaintop removal mining?

We do have to watch what these celebrities and those like Al Gore support while living in their large, energy consuming homes. These probably are the people who are pushing for legislation like Cap and Trade. Don't forget that when power and other companies have to pay extra because of the carbon they generate, they'll pass it on to us consumers. I can't speak for others, but that would hurt a lot of wallets in my family.
Here's another thought- if American manufacturers have to charge higher prices to cover their Cap and Trade costs, how will they compete with Chinese imports. I don't think China is seriously considering a Cap and Trade bill, at least not anything that would drive of the cost of doing business over there.
And, I'm sure if you had the "opportunity" to relay those compliments to Mr. Cameron in person, he would be gracious, and thank you humbly. He certainly wouldn't ask you to "get out of" his "personal f*cking space". No, he'd never do that. Too humble, too much class.
Well if your a conservative I think you have grounds for that. Hollywood holds conservatives and Republicans in open contempt . Just take a look over the last 8 years, Hollywood went out their way to put in mean spirited swipes at Bush in shows whose premise and plot had nothing to do politics. In my view Hollywood hasn't gotten nearly what it deserves in scorn. Let's face it people like Cameron don't help when they shoot their mouths off and confirm our views. Most of what you see is people like myself, somone who loves TV and movies but feels betrayed by Hollywood and come here to vent.
By this logic, one could argue that although David Dukes is a creep, at least he gets people talking about race. Thus, one could argue that he does good work.
At any rate, the themes found in Avatar have had their case laid out more intelligently in a plethora of other, better films. Avatar having nice special effects doesn't make it any more philosophically relevant. Honestly, the animated version of The Lorax presents environmentalism with greater wit and subtlety; it, at least, in a few choice lines, illustrates that there are no easy answers when it comes to balancing the needs of humanity with the continued vigor of the environment.
And finally, no. You can't terrorize inanimate mass.
Right, because it makes a lot more sense to spend money on movies that are terrible and promote terrible things, thus indicating to the industry that the people want more terrible films.
I knew Avatar would be bad. I went to it anyway, cleared my mind, willed myself to at least appreciate it…ended up hating it all the more. It wasn't worth it.
You don't need to sing to know a bad singer, especially if what they stand for is unjust and immoral.
Either you completely missed the whole point of the hypocritically righteous eco-warrior Cameron or you realized there is no defense of his lunacy and attempted to divert attention away from that fact with a stupid rant.
Now, both you and Cameron look like fools.
Wow your line of reasoning has so many flaws don't know where to start but let's go. Well if Cameron is a fish killing, mansion living resource waster isn't he wasting and spoiling the earth we all live in so doesn't that make it my problem? According too you it's all right if he is a huge resource wasting hypocrite as long as he puts pro-environment messages in his film. So does that mean I can drive around in a 67 V-8 Chevy burning leaded gas as long as I have pro-environment bumper stickers which bring awareness to these issues? After all that's my problem not yours right? This is why no takes Hollywood idiots seriously, when they start living in a small house made out of recycled cardboard and milk cartons that is powered by wind and solar power I might give more weight to what shoots out their cake holes.
By the way your right Eco-Terrorism is the wrong name it's terrorism period.
All Right – You're On!! – Here are some questions for you.
- Is it possible for Western concepts of personal liberty and human freedom to co-exist with the goals of the enviromental movement?
- Would you agree that at the heart of the enviromental movement is a growing eliminationalist tendency that would approve, however reluctantly, of the deaths of large portions of the Earth's human population if such deaths could help "Save the Planet?"
- If your answer to #2 is "No" then how can you reconcile the current claims of limited resources and conservation with allowing the world's popualtion to continue expanding at it's present rate?
- If your answer to #2 is "Yes" then who is to make the decision on who is to die or, in the alternative, how long we are to live?'
These are issues that vaguely utopian elitists like Mr. Cameron either will not or cannot address. In fact I have never seen or heard anyone who talks about "ecology" ever do so. Would you care to give it a try?
I wouldn't say rude…
Hell, presumably?
Calling you a child was not rude? OK.
He seems to enjoy a good pyre. Give the man what he wants.
Caught on have you?
I'm not advising whackjobs and losers like yourself to destroy civilization to "save the planet."
[...] Do you think he has any grasp of the type of people ecoterrorists target? Face it: Typically it’s the billionaires who are sullying the earth by building mansions precariously perched on the pristine cliffside terrain of places like Malibu. [...]
***B. Holland, your response is so very typical of the left.
When confronted with a logical argument you resort to name calling while altogether avoiding the substance of the debate.***
Oh yes because right wingers never name call or act in an immature way in a debate. Lets see, Sarah Palin cried whenever she is mentioned on TV and she didn' have the guts to finish her term in Alaska which is not that hard since it has a population of 100 people. Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck freak out when they were mentioned in Law and Order.
Rush Limbaugh has no sympathy for any of the victims of the earthquake, and has called horrible names to people like Michael J. Fox, and more
I can go on and on, seriously, typical left give me a break, its so funny how you clearly can't see that this article alone is name calling and throwing insults at James Cameron, painting him like a radical eco-terrorist and trying to compare him to ELF, that is the worst insult of all.
I am sick of you right wingers, you have no dignity, you take the most pointless things and try to make them larger then they are, you make crap up, this is a complete lie, there is no proof, its clearly a biased political agenda to bring a successful person down whose only message of the movie was showing you how greed and imperialism, and genocide and discrimination is bad, and you guys tear him apart for that, and you support articles but this amateur reporter who is probably making all this crap out.
You guys are sick and you guys are horrible and this is the typical right, respond to someone who disagrees with this article and support drivel like this like it is actually a good report when its the most irrelevant thing I have ever read, of all the problems, this is what she writes.
You right wingers are the most sad pathetic people I have ever seen in my life, I can't stand you guys
Hollywood is total wastage of nautral resouces. They use forests of trees to build sets, then tear them down and throw them away, the elites of Hollywood live in humongous estates consuming more energy than everyone else.
But "developers" are badddd. They actually buid houses that people LIVE in for decades.
I believe in the execution of eco-TERRORISTS and their sympathizers.
Oh yes of of course there is no mention of the right wing thugs, like the ones at Haliburton and KBR who gang raped a worker, or Timothy McVeigh who killed hundreds of people, or The AMerican Nazi Party and the KKK right wing nationalists who murdered 100s and 100s of people, I can go all day man, I can go all day.
What' mental is claiming this is real journalism when it truly isn't, this is pathetic and what is mental are you guys supporting crap like this. Its a lie wheres her proof, there is none, its words. I think its mental you guys claim this is real journalism, like seriously are you out of your minds. This is the true insult this is the true shallowness writing an article that is filled with lies when there are so much horrible things in the world and she mentions crap like this and you guys defend this, its pathetic.
Haha wow, actually the true fool is you checkthat.
I love the excuses you assholes make like, you he is a hypocrite because he is claiming to be pro-environment but have jets or things that use gas. Okay first of all, you have no idea about what liberals have and don't have second of all. Its kind of hard to be completely green when you have asshole right wing oil fanatics who control our entire energy supply. That is truly pathetic, Cameron does many pro-environmental things, as well as many pro-environmentalist, but if he needs to travel he is going to fly a plane, not walk across the country. Sorry but its right winger assholes and people like you who support big oil, that people are forced to either, be a bum or conform and use things that have oil.
Its so pathetic, because if clean energy became the majority, you guys would be the hypocrites I guess. Lets see, if for example all fly transportation isn't using gas and oil anymore but green and clean energy, I guess that would make the big oil people the hypocrites because they support big oil yet fly on clean energy planes.
Seriously dude, are you really that ignorant and small minded, its called being forced into a society and a way of life.
And there are names for people like you and the writer, its called dumb
I'm awesome, thanks. *kiss*
Does Hollywood have any idea of what a silly place it is?
There are lies and there are errors. They are different (check that dictionary).
At least one error has already been pointed out. What are some others that you found? Or, better still please show where the author is deliberately fabricating something please.
Lastly, this is an opinion site. Not a journalism site. Since you are mostly fed MSM where journalism and opinion are intertwined, why would this bother you anyway? Just asking.
And remember: the edit feature is your friend.
I just thought I'd give James Cameron a positive plug. Wow. Titanic. That ship sinking came out of no where, man. What a shock.
And why couldn't the world's skinniest actor crawl onto that gigantic piece of wood Rose was floating on? There was room for the whole string quartet on that thing. No matter. Rose having even half her body in that freezing water (which she did) was enough to kill her.
But the ship sinking. Wow. Just wow. (Sung to the tune of "Pants on the Ground")
really? without going back fifteen years? gotta do better than this…
You're pathetic and full of lies
The author can also say what she wants and anonymous can also say what he/she wants. Why are small-minded left-wingers by you so upset when one of your idols is criticized?
Your whole diatribe is dumb. Clearly, you don't possess critical thinking skills.
Sorry, pal; Cameron's carbon footprint and personal damage to the environment is far beyond the average person, so he deserves to be mocked and ridiculed for his lecturing to the rest of us.
BTW, why does Cameron need to travel?
Is anyone surprised that these Hollyweird Libs are hypocrites? They all have multiple mansions and fly around in private jets while telling us we need to handwash our clothes and crap in the dark in order to save the planet
Oh! I thought you were calling ME strange & rude! And as I said, I can be strange, maybe, but I try not to be rude! ;-D
Thank you for so wonderfully demonstrating my theory.
Obviously you didn't hear what Rush really said about Fox, I did, and that isn't what he said. Actually Fox was doing the same thing I was explaining. His hearing before congress was nothing more than an emotional plea, devoid of facts. Essentially 'look at me, feel sorry for me, then do what I say, or else you're a mean, cold hearted ass.'
I wouldn't know if Glenn Beck has the ability to brainwash anyone, since I've never watched his show.
Also I don't hate the movie, as I've not seen it. I usually prefer to be educated about an issue before claiming a stand on it.
And can you explain to me what "you righties have no room talking about emotion" means, because the grammar is such that it makes no sense.
Assuming you mean I have no idea about modern liberalism, I would have to disagree, seeing as I was one for some 30+ years. I know them intimately. They are my family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. If they knew anything other than overt emotionalized, insane insults, I'd probably still be one. But when I confronted them with facts, logic and reason, I pretty much got the same blow hard, idiotic, emotional response that I got from you.
~laughs.
I thought so. It made me giggle when I opened my mail and saw that.
I cannot recall you being rude and the strangeness is charming and relative. ; )
But money makes the ego, bro!
No doubt, Cameron was just yanking chains with his comment about belief in eco-terrorism. Who gives a fvc|<, except for whining, bleeding-heart, idealistic idiots?
At the risk of being wildly hackneyed, a picture is worth a thousand words and Maatkare is right. Do you think it's just a lack of photos that the MSM always seems to publish a picture of the fat Rush Limbaugh even though the man has lost over 100 pounds?
oxymoronic…with an emphasis on the MORONIC…
I don't care if Avatar boxes 5B. That just makes Cameron a filthy rich axe hole who like to run his motor mouth.
Come on down to Carmel punk. Do ya feel lucky? Punk. Do ya?

wow … I haven't read a post this moronic a while and that is saying something
I have tools, and James Cameron……………………………..YOUR NO tool!
They serve a purpose and have a use, much unlike yourself.
"And there are names for people like you and the writer, it's called dumb"
Uhh…are you even aware of all the grammar errors in your post? Is English even your first language?
Why does Mean Ms Meister write "let's all hate someone today" columns? Is it that it takes no intelligence to hate?
I believe in beating the sh*t out of eco-terrorists and snotty, arrogant, know-it-all film directors. You get that. Jimbo?
I have a great idea for a big screen comedy:
A left leaning director makes a dumb comment in a magazine praising eco-terrorism.
A week later he is kidnapped by an ecoterrorist organization who want him to make a documentary about their group.
When he discovers this terrorist group is as well organized as the People's Front Of Judea from "Life Of Brian," the director tries his best to escape, and wackiness ensues.
I'll provide a full outline later. Now where is my production deal?
I suppose it bothers me because it speaks to accuracy..which speaks to media credibility, which is vital to any site that's trying to be taken seriously as an influential force. It's sloppy journalism, whether of the new or old kind.
And I prefer the term "young at heart."
You know what also bothers me? In print interviews, when the writer takes time to lovingly describe what their interview subject is wearing…and it's never what they're wearing in the photo accompanying the article. What can I say? I'm literal minded.
