But more importantly, the only reason France didn't want to invade Iraq was because they – along with China and Russia – were making tons of money off illegal kickback deals with oil-for-food, and selling Iraq weapons and other war material.

Actually I own insurance, and I work for a small corporation. But neither is relevant – you admit ignorance as to what her plan would have cost, and when the story broke the local insurers all released information as to what affordable plans she could have purchased.

You apparently do not understand the concept of insurance.

Insurance is not a price offset. The idea is not that you pay $50 a month and the insurance provides you with $500 a month of health care. The idea of insurance is that you pay a small amount to offset the possibility of a large claim.

So the large deductible idea is quite rational. The problem is that we no longer think of health insurance as insurance. We think of it as subsidy. Which is why expanding it to everyone and making it mandatory is an unworkable business model.

But even with that said, you're wrong. There are numerous health care plans available for less than $100 a month that conform to the Blue Cross / Blue Shield pay schedule of $25/$10/$10.

And how many people do you know who voted for Nixon, Ms. Kael? MoveOn.org's shameful ad campaigns during Bush's presidency is all the rebuttal your ignorant point needs.
