To PRO-Abortion liberals, it IS black and white. To them, abortion IS equivalent to taking a pill. I had a girlfriend who had an abortion at 18 and I was involved with it. It was a terrible experience. I would never tell someone to end a perfectly normal child's life because it would hamper their social life. I'm not going to comment on your example. But to me it's essentially playing God with someone else's life.

Abortion is not so black and white. If you found out at 20 weeks, that you baby was going to be severely paralyzed and would live a very difficult and painful life, would you choose to have the baby, or have an abortion, in which you deliver at 22 weeks and still get to hold your child?

I know someone who chose abortion. She still lives in pain each day, even if she feels she made the right choice for her baby.

Actually, if we are talking about how overpopulation (and a myriad of other issues) can lead to mass starvation, than empowering woman is one way to help curb a net gain in population. For example, in Africa, not only do these woman have extremely limited access to birth control or education on family planning, they also live in societies where they have little or no rights. In countries where woman have more freedom, there is a lower birth rate. In African countries, birth rates average 4 and 5 children per woman, and in Niger, it's 6.

So yes... empowering woman is relevant to the video.

Is that the same Matt Damon that had never registered to vote until 2008?

I'm going to stop my dogs and cats from farting right now. Don't want to cause a tornado!

This article is ridiculous. The PSA clearly states how every thing is interrelated, yet this author is making it out to be propaganda in support for an "expensive treaty".

I hate this way of thinking. The so-called "War on Terror" has been a complete failure yet has been one of the most expensive. Why does no one remark on this? Why are things like health care and fighting pollution demonized?

Hey guys, not running, but I hitched a ride on the back of a crying gay couple and they didn't stop until I was somewhere with no net connection. RobertB, what wrong with starving children being a reason to stop global warming? Seems like a pretty good one to me. Also, as far as I understand it, old sick people already have a government-run socialised healthcare system to take care of them in America, so are proabably not the best ones to 'wheel out' for this. (Medicare, right? I'm English but I'm fairly sure I'm right about that bit). As for the abortion argument - don't you guys know that pro-choice people don't consider an abortion to be a death? That's partly the point. So that won't work with me, though I do have other reasons for supporting its leaglity which I won't bore you with.
One last thing - the reason I think compassion is something liberals "use against" Republicans as RobertB puts it is because we're so often shocked at the lack of it frequently displayed by the party. There is a real ruthlessness and lack of empathy evident there that I just don't understand.

Matt Damon has correctly shown two things that are connected; starving children and global warming. The prolific use of biofuels to advance the scam of global warming reduced the food supply FOR starving children. Matt Damon has only succeeded in demonstrating that his love of Emperor Al Gore exceeds any actual concern for world hunger.
