I know. You're absolutely right. Here in America, my insurance company has told me that they don't even care about making a profit off of my insurance premiums: they just want to take care of me and my family!

And, my insurance company has told me, "Don't worry: no matter what you need for your health, operations, treatments, drugs, hospital stays, we'll pay for all of it, and we'll never, ever question a claim, or deny something. And it will cost you next to nothing. And we'll never even think of turning you down, or dropping you, regardless of your health condition."

Why would ANY citizen want an optional governmental health care plan when we already have perfect medical care, that covers absolutely everything and costs nothing? Those people must be idiots! Right?

BTW, I mispoke; the article was in the Council on Foreign Relation's quarterly publication "Foreign Affairs." It was the very first "Foreign Affairs" article I'd ever read and within ten years I became a foreign service officer. Coincidence? I think not….
The book is also quite good, an expansion of the celebrated and/or notorious article. Prof. Huntington's recent death is a loss to us all.

Yes, I actually knew the book was based on his own previous article, but I'm skeptical that Biden knew it. I suspect that most people who even know where the phrase comes from at all are more familiar with the book. Also I was hoping to draw attention to the book itself for the curious to seek out.
